Basically multiple of his series including Mistborn and the Stormlight Archive have magic systems and lore that interrelate in cool ways as they progress

It's part of the Cosmere universe which includes Mistborn as one of the interconnected series, but Warbreaker itself is a standalone novel set on a different planet. It's good!
