Re: Mortal Kombat Mafia [ENDGAME]
The Wilgy lynch would have been Kitana's secret ability (Wilgy was the one removed from the poll and Kitana could switch the lynch to that person)

Re: Mortal Kombat Mafia [ENDGAME]
Totally knew Glorf was behind the Ermac sock early on (so wait was there someone else behind it each time you picked someone?) and then later (when we killed you) we found out you were Ermac and I was confused and it took until you said that you weren't actually behind the sock for me to get that lol
Also I knew Quin was Kung Lao from early-- night 2 I guess is when I stole his power and learned it was a tiebreak. It's too bad I died before I got to use that again bc it would have helped a lot having access to that ability later in the game

Tony was wrong about me. He only sees targets. Easy to jump to a false conclusion.Jackofhearts2005 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2018 12:25 am Ugh.
Agreed LC is obvious town. Suck part is with two leading town wagons, the vote counts are not as useful. If Tony flipped bad, there's some breadcrumbs on top of the good lynch.
Tony's flip makes Nutella look worse. Tony forgetting to make a case, acting like the case was apparent and then putting forth a weak case makes me think there was never a case. Tony tracked Nutella making a kill or similar or else thought he did. Nutella basically disputed the idea of anyone having info on her.
I'm too tired to analyze the rest of this.
Anyone who thinks I'm bad with Simon, lynch Simon. A walk's better than striking out. Anyone who thinks I'm good should also lynch Simon.

Re: Mortal Kombat Mafia [Day 4]
Hmm I'm not really seeing the case on lapluie, her play has been really sloppy today but I feel like my town read on her from earlier is far too strong to reconcile with that. I guess she could be bad but I would be surprised given her earlier play.
I think I'm feeling slightly better about Wilgy from his participation today but not sure. He is the king of wifom after all and could play like this as any alignment as far as I can tell. (I may have a budding theory that he's 3P)
linki: really not liking lapluie's OMGUS reaction... ugh. I still think if it's between her and Tony I'll stay on Tony, but I'd prefer speed or maybe wilgy atm. Ugh ugh ugh I agree with Quin that this EOD feels wrong.

If Tony is claiming to have info on me he is lying or got bad info (there are a few redirect/switch things in this game so that's quite possible)
Btw I'm out for most of the rest of the day phase; I should be able to get back on for the last half hour.

Re: Mortal Kombat Mafia [Day 4]
...yeah, I agree with Kyle here that Wilgy's accusation of Jack sounds fake. Or just no-u-ish. I mean, I guess I shouldn't get too comfortable in my strong town read of Jack bc he could be fooling me, I know he's a talented enough player, but I don't see how Wilgy thinks his suspicion is forced. Dude, you're suspicious. People are gonna wanna lynch you. If you have an actual reason to suspect Jack that you would like to contribute, then by all means do so, but so far your posts are devoid of actual content. And I don't know what "reassure expectations of failure upon my death" means.Kylemii wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2018 3:19 pmno, my purpose isn't to argue that your case is made of paper mache. my purpose is to point out that both you and Tony have come after Jack with the same arts-and-crafts project, and he is a player I've town read for a lot of the game.DrWilgy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2018 2:49 pmSo argue it. What is it based on? Is it a real suspicion coming from both of you? Is this something that should make me concerned about you and Tony? Is it something that should make me concerned about Jack?

Re: Mortal Kombat Mafia [Day 4]
lol, fair. He has a habit of always looking the same... I just have a feeling I can't shake, and the points against him that I posted on day 3 felt pretty strong. He's been hanging back today and I haven't seen enough from him but that mostly just makes me more wary. I think at the moment I'm more confident in a tony or wilgy lynch but would definitely entertain a speed lynch if others are willing.Jackofhearts2005 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2018 3:09 am I'm waffling on Speedchuck. Based on previous experience with Speedchuck, this leads me to believe we are in a mafia game together.

Re: Mortal Kombat Mafia [Day 4]
...I'm not sure what your point is here? Explain what you find suspicious about this post and I'll answer. As for my sig vote, I legitimately thought dunya's case was a good one. And you say you expected more from me on the curse day but I think I contributed a good amount.TonyStarkPrime wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2018 1:47 am Okay. I’ll make a real Nutella case.
Day 1/ Night 1: Nutella has a fine day 1. Honestly, I think the metagame has a evolved to a point where bad day 1s are rare. Maybe the realms are actually ahead on the curve of discouraging day 1 lynched.
Day 2: This is where my spider sense starts tingling. She starts with some posts that establish her curse. Fine. It’s a less restrictive curse than some others, so I’d expect to see a little more from Nutella over the course of the day.
The argument is this and then a substantively similar post later changing the vote to Sig. Seems a little hollow.nutella wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2018 1:17 am I really appreciate this luxurious item I've been given that is enfranchisement, and I'm really excited to try it out, but I'm not quite sure what to do with it yet. So far I've heard of people using this product on things such as DrWilgys and TonyStarkPrimes, and from my perspective those are both decent enough choices that I might consider. Not sure I'd waste such a lovely treat on the completely absent toothed bird, but I'd be open to seeing how it might work on a Dave.
I think for now I will test out my wonderful gift on Tony. I wasn't impressed with him on day 1, and although one could argue in his favor that he has been trying to participate more recently despite the... shall we say... stark limitations of his own "gift" today, I have also noticed that one of my other suspects, speedchuck, is voting for the candidate who is currently one vote ahead of Tony. That's about as sufficient a reason as I feel I'm likely to come up with on this day of chaos. So, thanks again hosts for the beautiful shiny poll, that was really thoughtful of you and I think it'll look great on Iron Man.
Sort of a joke, sort of serious. I thought that rabbit was being ridiculous insisting Jay was bad for very little reasoning when he's never played with Jay before and doesn't know his meta/reputation, and he hadn't caught up on the thread either iirc so I wasn't putting much stock in his reads in general.Night two opens with this:
I can’t put my finger on exactly what’s wrong but I think it’s the apologetic tone. That’s something I’ve always considered to be a common mafia tell, could be a Nut thing. Her Day 3 starts strong with a few posts that give me a slight nudge each way.nutella wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2018 9:23 pm welp so both sig and mac were civ. :\
that sure was a stressful day phase, lol. I had it easier than some other people but it was still hard to phrase my posts. Had fun with it though. My curse was to "act like I had received a gift" (a reference to the Holiday Goodie Exchange which I ran this year).
The only one that sticks out is this one
But I think / hope it’s a joke.
"Apologetic tone" is not much of an argument. Pretty common to feel regret after a mislynch. I genuinely wished the EOD had gone differently and expressed as much.Day three on a more macro level involves a few posts on Dunya and a lengthy post on Speedchuck. Seeing as how she couldn’t vote we don’t know where she’d actually go, but if those were the directions Maf wanted to push it seems a little sketchy. And then night three opens with this
Which is super super mafia. I mentioned apologetic tone earlier. That first paragraph is full of it and more. And it literally doesn’t make Town sense. I can see town giving a vote choice like this late in the day to stick the flag in the sand but there’s no reason for a townie to ever pontificate so much after. Day 4 has been pretty unsubstantial outside of the classic “No you” defense. So that’s where we are. I want to elaborate on the Dunya posts that would suggest she has something outside of the first one but I also need sleep to live.nutella wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2018 7:56 am Had I not been so unjustly disenfranchised, I would have tried to save dunya and lynch Simon. I agreed with Jay that speedchuck was the better option, but since he didn't get enough votes and it came down to a near-tie I'd probably have gone Simon. I must admit I did have some doubts about dunya for a bit when the wagon was picking up, but her pleads when it came down to the wire sounded sincere.
I haven't done any in-depth analysis but off the top of my head Jack, Kyle, Lap, and Rabbit come out of this looking pretty good, and Eloh, Quin, LC, and Speed come out looking not-so-good. Jack and Rabbit especially (and Mac but he's dead) did some solid confident hunting work both before and after the result there, and I'm inclined to follow their intuitions. I can't decide how I feel about Jay but I suppose I could see the tinfoil that he's mafia with Simon and Speed. Geez being in two concurrent games with several of the same players is mentally exhausting, I'm trying not to conflate too much meta from Fiddler but I have so many confusing tinfoily wifomy thoughts about Jay in both games lol. It's been hard to keep track but I definitely have a more traditionally civ vibe from him in this game compared to that one, but compared to previous games where he was supatown it's been a bit on the weaker side.
Also where have I "no you"ed? I sometimes happen to suspect players who suspect me, but for real reasons. I don't do "no you."

Please advise.
Agreed.lapluie wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2018 1:26 am @nutella I know you're good & want to take out mafia but I really think we should lynch Tony. Re: Mortal Kombat Mafia [Day 3]
^ [mention]TonyStarkPrime[/mention] yeah, she wasn't confidently suspicious of me enough to be claiming info. also the only reasons for suspecting me that she actually stated were that she thought my style looked similar to Search For Quin where I was bad (which she never elaborated on), and then my responses to some stuff between her and lap.
Besides, I don't know what you mean about "even without the fact that she had a blocker role." Clearly your theory that she had info is tied to that (how else would she have gotten anything), but even if it was, that's ... not info. If you block someone and then there isn't a kill, like sure you'd consider the possibility that the person you blocked is bad, but it's far from the only possibility. There are far too many possibilities in a game this complex for that alone to cause you to feel certain that person is bad. Regardless, she didn't have info on me, she didn't block me on n2, and she had no case against me. You're conveniently drawing lines between points that don't exist.

Dunya's a she (and so am I, I think you messed that up earlier). Anyway, she didn't have info on me or if she did it was messed with somehow, and she definitely did not block me on night 2. I don't even know why you interpreted it that way since I remember her saying that she wasn't actually confident enough in her read of me to lynch me. Definitely wasn't as strong as an info claim. And what do you mean she's not the only one?
I think you may be reading far too much into some things.

Nope, doesn't check out. I was going to say that it's quite possible that Dunya could have blocked me on the same night there happened to be no kill, and there are plenty of other explanations, but I am in fact quite sure that my power went through on night 2 so I don't think she could even have been honestly implying that.TonyStarkPrime wrote: ↑Mon Jan 22, 2018 7:29 pm This Nutella read comes to you in two parts. AND I just decided that that doesn't matter. Because you guys can all look through the ISO and see how scummy it is. I don't have more insight into Nutella as a player than most of you and I already pointed out the really scummy posts. The second part is why I'm confident in this read.

what does this mean? where did those groups of names come from and what do they have to do with each other and why do we have to choose between them?TonyStarkPrime wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2018 12:31 pm If we lynch Simon and he’s mafia we have to choose whether to pursue JJJ/ Wilgy or Nutella / Eloh / Lap and there’s way too much room for error. Over Wilgy? Really?
And Jack, yeah I misread your post about Jay. I guess it's more likely that either Simon and Jay are bad together or Simon and Speed are bad together and probably not both. Do you think both Jay and Wilgy are bad for voting for speed?

Re: Mortal Kombat Mafia [Night 3]
Had I not been so unjustly disenfranchised, I would have tried to save dunya and lynch Simon.

MacDougall wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2018 9:07 pmCred. Obviously. Simon is an absent low contributor so they're bussing him.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2018 9:06 pmSo you think Jack, Simon, and speedchuck are mafia together? I'm open to the theory -- what do you think the goal is?MacDougall wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2018 9:05 pm This Simon push is a bus. Fuck now that I said it it makes perfect sense.

I've seen one case of a scum DrWilgy self vote, on this site, and RadicalFuzz in the vocaroo, and that's it. But Radical did it out of frustration, no one frustrated Marmot to self-vote. So what's the scum motivation for it?
