Rico has a role highlighting pedantry
Long Con gets a grand epic role that allows him to tell a story with it
Vompatti gets a role where his votes count negative, highlighting an appearance of randomness even further (that was before he even then went and got executed for treason!)
Indiglo gets one of her favourite characters
Matt gets a character where he literally cannot be silenced
Jay gets a role where he is the genuine 'leader of the town'.

I can't remember if there were others, but it was pretty neat.
I was not starbuck but I got to be married to her...

For realzies - I was all "the best part of my role is I mary Starbuck." :D *waves* hi matt!!!

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - GAME OVER

@Goldama (or SVS/Gman), was my first message from you guys too? I figured it was. Anyway, here are all the messages I got and any responses I gave to Golden...
Golden wrote:Hey Starbuck. Let's not murder one another. Point out to me who you are with double :p :p and I'll do the same.If you can post what your win con is by stating it in pieces every 3rd word of your 3rd post of day 3, I can help you.

My win condition is to see both #8's dead.
Matt wrote:Hrm.

So this person can send messages to actual roles as opposed to players. That would make me think they are of high authority. Adama, Roslin...Cavil.

I don't like this. If this person was civ, and they knew they were messaging Starbuck, why didn't they just reveal who they were in the message? Either their identity or their role or both? Something.

I dunno, I'm not gonna do that third word of the third day thing, but I may use the signal at some point if I feel trustworthy enough.

Sidenote - In Long Con's "World" game, as the Karma Chameleon, I was able to hide myself in every square I went to, choosing to reveal myself if I wanted. But if I did reveal myself, then my NK immunity would go away that night phase.

I only revealed myself once, so I could speak with the Living Statue (Dom). Hahaha.

I dunno what to do Golden, I just don't know!!!
I decided to use the signal and then immediately regretted it haha.
Golden wrote:Thank you, Matt. Thank you.

I have to be careful how much I say because I can only share three pieces of information with these messages. Even then I have to follow certain rules. Hopefully this all gets through uncensored.

1. By posting the lyrics of "All Along the Watchtower," you triggred the awakening of the Final Five. Thank you.

2. We now know who the Final Five are and may search each one to find those who will side with us. Thank you.

3. As a token of thanks, we'd like to make you an offer. Because the survival of the Final Five prior to their awakening was never a guarantee, we have the ability to take a human player and convert them into a brand new model of Cylon upon either their death or at the conclusion of the game. We'd like to offer that spot to you. You're welcome.

If you choose to take us up on this offer, include the phrase 'chaos agent' in one of your early Day 4 posts. Should you accept, you will receive another message on Night 5 with new information and further instructions. Your actions have given us new life and a better chance at winning. In exchange for your ongoing cooperation, you can join us in victory.

You can reject the offer if you like and not post the code phrase. Just know that if you reject us, you'll want to start looking over your shoulder.

Like, what's up with the threat at the end there? I really don't care if I die, that would probably be better for the civs cuz then I can't keep wasting my votes on civs most likely :faint:

And if Metalmarsh were on a Final Five, and they teamed up, why would MM agree to be the messenger? Lol he's always bringing up to me how I got him in GoC (I think he did this game even!), so why would he think I would trust him?

I have doubts MM even sent the message.

Despite all of it, even if it is real, Starbuck don't take kindly to threats. :mafia:

I haven't read the thread since this morning, off to catch up!
Golden wrote:Hello again, Matt.

I don't think I have to tell you just how deeply disappointed we are with you. An act of defiance that is so blatantly public cannot and will not be tolerated. Your activation of the Final Five, however, has proven fruitful for us, so we will let probability decide your fate.

We have a list of players we would like you to vote for. Should you vote for one of these players, we will let you live another day. If you do not vote for one of the players on our list, you will die next.

We are not telling you who is on our list of desired votees but know that your odds of making a correct vote are about 50-50 as it currently stands.

Vote wisely.

Golden wrote:You are an exceptionally lucky man, Matt. I want you to know that.

For two days you have voted for acceptable players. Congratulations. Your ongoing displays of dissidence, however, are going to cost you. Or, it could cost someone else. The choice is yours.

Let me spell it out for you clearly. Below are the names of two players. On Day 8, you will vote for one of these two players or we will kill you next. A vote for one of these two players will spare that player from our Night 8 kill.

This means that your Day 8 vote is not a vote to take a life but a vote to spare a life.

Your Day 8 options are:
-insertnamehere
-sig

Remember Matt, you either choose to spare the life of one of these players or you choose your own death. You don't seem like the martyr type to me, so I suggest you start thinking about who you're going to vote for.

It's time to make a choice Matt. Cooperate or die.

Silly meaningless vibe probably.

It comes down to a few things...

1) If Golden was willing to make two of the Final Five baddies, then why not three?

2) She ran with SVS' "slip" trying to get the town to discuss it before others brought up that it was put there on purpose to mislead us.

Started an ISO on the G-Man, here is a snip from his 7th post where he gives out a few reads...
G-Man wrote:DrumBeats stood out initially for jumping right in and requesting a letter without any discussion. It was a rush to judgement that was poor but, given that nobody (I assume) knew the puzzle was ciphered, it's far from indicative. Being helpful on a puzzle is neither here nor there, really. At least he picked what is normally a high-frequency letter.

Epignosis also jumped right in an declared a letter for the puzzle. He picked E, which I assume served a dual purpose- his name begins with E and it's the highest-frequency letter (not just vowel) in the English language. He tried a few guesses and we haven't head from him since. It's Epi, so I'm resisting the natural impulse to assume he's up to no good.
What's interesting to me about this is that he does not comment on either SVS or nutella also just jumping in with a letter.

Not incriminating, but worth sharing I think.

Also you're not commenting on the fact that you voted SVS Day One, Drumbeats immediately votes for you thereafter. Or Drumbeats minor town reading nutella. Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Day 12

To be clear, though, I think it would be best if we tried to lynch Cavil today. Lol. But whatevs, I'll probably be following an Epi or Polo vote today, wherever those dudes go. Unless they vote me.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Day 12

So Say We All

I've been intentionally away from the thread because I did not want to be a distraction as I seem to have been recently. *sigh*

Anyway, after some reevaluation, on Adama's orders...

The Bad Team

SVS
nutella
DrumBeats
Sokoth

F5 additions
Dex
Daisy
juliets

I've come to the conclusion (not just now, for a few phases now) that there is only one baddie team and in most games of this size with one baddie team, that means about 7 baddies. So I would say 4 OG baddies and three F5 baddies.

I'm not sold on Sokoth or juliets (even tho I've been talking about Sokoth the whole game), however...something did catch my eye on Drumbeats, and it's actually very very very minor, but still, I should bring it up just in case...

Here is SVS' first and second post of the game...

So say we all (again).
Her first post is just simply guessing a letter for the contest at the beginning of the game, her second post rectifies her missing So Say We All (tho for some reason she says "again" but whatever we'll ignore that)

Here is nutella's first and second post of the game...

Now, we know these two are baddies.

Here is Drumbeats first and second post of the game...

my bad on forgetting that in the first one, I jumped the gun and only saw the event post.

And shit guys, sorry about S not being on there. It's a pretty common consonant and I figured other people would go quickly with vowels.
His first post is just simply guessing a letter for the contest at the beginning of the game, his second post rectifies his missing So Say We All.

Looks familiar. Hmmmm.

Also, all of these first posts happened within a 5 minute window in thread, all three.

I did some more digging, only two other players in the entire game missed "So Say We All". One was Marmot, and to me it looked legit. The other was Vomps, so who knows on that one.

And, if I'm to believe some theory where the baddies were required or at the very least, challenged to miss the first So Say We All of the game, then I would have to be a little more lax on Sokoth considering he did his.

Anyway, am I Matting too much here? What does everyone think of the similarities between SVS/Nutella's first and second posts and Drumbeats' ?

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Night 11

Hate to bring stuff up, but just curious...

Are we under the assumption the rest of the Final Five are good to go now?

What if Golden did another reverse and there are 4 Final Five mafia and 1 good one? Deeeeerp.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Night 11

Hrm.

I've been wrong on everything. My last two top civ reads were Polo and sig. Let's lynch them lulz.

Obscure again I have no idea wtf you're talking about, the last time I asked you to explain I think you said you couldn't because you'd be mod killed and now you're bringing this up again and I just don't even...

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Night 11

Welp, like I said off to read some Batman...

Crazy Theory # 1261

Every singe person we lynch comes up "Cavil aligned" until we lynch John Cavil, regardless of their affiliation. Now I'm just coming up with weird stuff, but I was amazed at what an awesome job town has done taking out two baddies in a row. Hrm.

Anyway for real, I'm not going to waste time defending myself. I think most would agree it's more believable that I just suck because if I were bad (here comes...WIFOM!) I just simply wouldn't be defending Daisy like I did. Just...ugh no.

Regardless I really don't care if ya'll hang me, wasted day, keep on truckin' !

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Night 11

Not that you care Epi but I'm going to stop harassing you from here on out. Derp.

Polo I realize my response to you was a bit disrespectful...

But really I have no defense. I was wrong and am total sucky town.

HOWEVER...

This means Dex pressed town into looking the Final Five which included (at least?) two baddies which gave town a 50% shot of nailing them...all the while pushing against lynching his "unkillable" master.

For real. If SVS IS actually unkillable, then I simply do not understand.

Linki - Oh my. I g2h him totes civ.

I have no words tbh.

Apologies for distracting the town, I'm gonna go read my Batman No Man's Land tpb's now...

Daisy at the very least, be kind when you and SVS and the rest are laughing at me in btsc :(

Who among your voters do you think is most likely to be opportunistic?

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Day 11

Is there anyone else in the game that would've approached the "unkillable evil" scenario the way SVS and Dex did?

Who in the game would've instead attempted to goad town into lynching you if you were unkillable instead of outright announcing it in thread? Keep in mind SVS is a mafia pro, been playing for nearly a decade I think.

I would've devised a plan exactly the way I described in my "group convo" a couple posts back, and am not sure why they didn't go that route if SVS is indeed "unkillable".

Rubbish.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Day 11

juliets, why do you think SVS and Dex went the route they did instead of trying to get town to waste a lynch on her?
Matt wrote:
John Cavil wrote:I believe SVS was dead at that time. I was alive, but otherwise ocupado with zany prison related shenanigans. SVS =/= John Cavil for purposes of voting, although I must say she is one of my closest friends and a straight up awesome gal.
That she is!

Questions

1. Why would you tell the thread you can't be killed as opposed to town just finding out by wasting a day to lynch you? Weird.

2. Why didn't Dex push your lynch so the town would waste a day lynching you, instead he pushed looking at a group of four that included himself? Weird.
At this point I know Daisy's going to get lynched but I'd still like insight from other players on their own line of thinking regarding whether or not SVS can be lynched.
