Is The Syndicate really ready for Favorites? Did this game prepare them enough?
Well they had U-Pick early this year, which is basically Baby Favorites.

Not sure if they are ready but maybe the only way for them to be ready is throw them right into it.

Or we could get Shizune to host a game in the next queue. A good old WoW game with 6 factions and 3 indies should be a good warm-up. I'd be barred from the queue anyway since I just hosted this. Then we launch Favorites at the end of 2019.
LOL we're not babies. We may not be familiar with the set up but that doesn't mean we'll run crying to our mamas unless it's poorly run or poorly designed. Bring it on I say.
(it's just trash talking, please don't mind it)

But yeah I'm pretty sure this place can handle crazy setups just fine. After CC123 I don't doubt anything.
HaHaHa so true!
Yeah. That was a crazy one for sure. Loved it though.

Death Note was a level of complicated that I never fully understood.

Screw Westerns, I don't watch Westerns, that cowboy crap doesn't interest me all that much.

But Kurt Russell as Wyatt Earp is unbelievably good....

Link Explanations:
Spoiler: show
1. Goofy Dingus post saying Kara's name sounds like a forbidden spell
2. Wants me to explain my "juicy" Lunalee suspicion/catch
3. Commends Nutella for her player salad catch against Owner calling it a "proven" finder of baddies.
4. Defends Glorf/JC from truth meta
5. Goofy Dingus post saying Mac should get lynched
6. Up Glorf's ass about saving Bad-Jay for later.
7. Defends against Colin's whole "Pedantic" thing
8. Defends Owner from me RE: Dark Arts/Hallows slip
9. Interestingly the only person left alive from Long Con's "I'm not on a team with" post is Kara.
10. Goofy Dingus post about Jack's Long Con vote.
11. Wants Jay's opinion on nutella.
12. Defends Owner again, Sees TH/Luna as W/w
13. Doesn't think Owner is bad, votes TH.
14. +1's Owner's suspicion of Colin
15. Thinks Timmer's post was "hedgey"
16. Agrees with Colin and Mac that Bullz' nova vote looks suspect.
17. "Kind of" suspects Colin and Mac for jumping on Bullz.
18. Pokes Nutella RE: Owner "remembering" Jay tied the vote at 4.
19. Big post about how bad Luna is
20. Defends Owner from Kara. The "if Owner turns up scum" thing is the big red flag here
21. Suspicious of Glorf
22. Votes Luna, ditches Bullz suspicion based on Timmer being a cop. "Could vote for" Kara if it came down to it.
23. Votes INH based on the salad thing
24. Goofy Dingus Jack interaction
25. Prods Nutella to respond to Luna
26. Cops to protecting Owner D1
27. Says sloonei "townslipped" Sees Speeds suspicion of Glorf and nutella as "healthy". says Sprityo has "said nothing"
28. Says Mac accidentally revealed Nutella as civ
29. Opines that Colin might be bad looking to get rezzed
30. Goofy Dingus post about voting for Timmer
31. "Feels good" about Timmer
32. Finds Colin's play to be "pretty strong"
33. Votes Colin
Conclusions: not a full ISO but far more than enough to get to the bottom of some things:

Nutella, their interactions look good. LC was doing a lot of buddying/+1ing this game, and I think he was targeting civs.
Timmer, looks OK.
Kara, looks....meh? here. The "if Owner turns up scum" interaction is a plus. Goofing on Kara about her name looks funky given Long Con's Jack interaction proves he's not above goofing with teammates in the thread. Kara's the only one left alive from Long Con's big Veritiserum post apart from me, and everyone who has flipped from that has flipped civ.
Colin, I think this clears Colin IMO. LC trial baloons a Colin suspicion pretty early, then says Colin "looks strong", then votes the guy? IDK.
Luna looks great RE: LC

Long Con's ISO, as I've been over the 1000th time, looks Mondo Primo Garbo for Sloonei/Owner. Multiple instances of him protecting/defending Sloonei/Owner with his vote and posts. #14 is perhaps the silver bullet in Owner/Sloonei's favor though given Long Con's pattern of glomping onto and buddying civs this game.

I don't really have any suspicion of Colin apart from it."

I mean that's a big endorsement. But then when it seems like Colin will be up for a potential lynch LC votes him.

And LC has posted since then about other things, but hasn't hashed this out. This puts him above the others, for me.

I may have read that a bit too quickly and responded a bit too quickly. Digesting it a bit more here's what I come away with:

- Forget the Adolf Tell thing, I saw the green/red positive negative in your post and that flipped a switch for me, but that's not accurate.

- Re-Reading it, your smaller post is you talking yourself in a bit of a circle trying to fit into Mac's thinking RE: the Tell. You specifically cite Timmer's "there may be something to the dead not flipping correctly" post, but then admit that it's probably nothing based on your own "spin". Then your big post is you looking through Timmer's posts for positive/negative stuff. You start off civ reading for the most part, and then at the bottom you find a post that "has some positive/negative contrasts", but you qualify THAT by putting context on it. You end thinking Timmer looks "legit".
That is a far more accurate account than your first "attempt".

D2 - Uses Nova's Death to ping Jay immediately. Agrees w/ Jay about Bullz nova vote. Big post detailing thoughts on Luna. Defends Owner again, but agrees that Epi is a null read.

This jumps out at me. Here LC is talking to Kara about Kara's Day 1 Owner suspicion(s) but lack of an Owner vote:
If Owner turns up scum, then that looks bad on you: to say she really looks like scum, but stop short of casting a clinching vote for an Owner lynch.
This quote here really gets my dogs barking. Setting up a patsy for "If Owner [ever] flips scum" combined with LC's defending Owner a few times already...
How strong does your case feel if Slowner is town?
Well considering his defense of Owner, and his jumping on Kara with the "if Owner is scum" thing and his thought that Sloonei townslipped, if you take all those away I still don't like his

1) Hunting for Hallows/TH vote
2) Backing off Luna based on Jay/Nut
3) His flip on Timmer with the Adolf tell or w/e that he backed away from pretty quckly felt like he was working a bit too hard to make something click there.

So I'd say I feel (right now, all things included) 65-70% confident in the LC case, but take the Owner stuff out and I'm somewhere in the range of 55-60%
1. I went for the Hallows. :shrug2: It's not because I'm bad, it's because I wanted the Hallows. My TH vote wasn't about saving Owner, really, it was about which one of the two I suspected more.
2. Meh. So I didn't act solely on my own brilliant game solution that time. I don't think it's that uncommon to agree with something someone else says.
3. I don't think I understand this one. Is this about threatening to vote Timmer over his fetish for chunks of human flesh?

But that's whatever.

Re: Hogwarts Mafia - Day 3

You don't really have to be a baddie-who-can-appear-as-Civ-upon-lynch to pull this as a baddie. You just have to know that there's no way everyone's going to go along with this plan.

I mean, you know that, right? Do you really expect us to hijack a lynch just so you can die and get rezzed?

On the contrary, it was my first notion. Then I realized it assumes you're Civ, and I took a look at the flip side.

timmer wrote: Mon Nov 05, 2018 2:27 am So Mac, what I'm telling you is that there was no vig kill night 1. So who killed a bad nova? That's my issue. Both nights, multiple kills. Both nights, dead baddies. But NOT both nights vig killa so who killed them. And if it is someone unknown is it just weird odds that their kills were bad?
Serial killers also don't generally kill quiet players from what I can glean. Mafia sometimes do but not serial killers.

But, for that kill to have been outright a civilian I would need to believe that the town has three vigilantes, two of which hit Mafia.

That would need some powerful (or numerable) Mafia roles to counteract it no?

Night 1 - You vigged, someone else used a vig and the serial killer kills on even nights maybe? I dunno.
Going to bed now, but one thing to add: there was a recent game (Mega Man, right?) where inactive Civs were a major hit to the Civ chance for victory. Maybe the killer of quiet players is a Civ who played that game and is saying "not this time!".

Nite nite. :offtobed:

I am questioning the flips of the dead, which quite frankly we don't usually get on TS anyway.
Yes, that's true. My bad, probably due to the fact that we usually don't get nightkilled alignments. BUT I think the point stands - important game-logic comes from flipped dead folk. A general doubt about the validity of flips could radically change what logic we choose to believe.

Since when do we have two dead Mafia on day 3 with zero having been lynched? It's like a metaphor for society in general right now.
Why are you acting like it's impossible for civilians to do things right?
Jeez that's a leap of logic.
It's not that far-fetched that a Civ vig kills baddies the first two nights. Like, it doesn't happen often, but that doesn't mean we can just assume it never happens.

I'll write it better tomorrow but I'm hot liking long con s vote history and vote timing... I think it is vey possible he saved owner day 1. I think his inh vote needs more study too. He's been very manipulative with his voting strategy and his early stated aim to be hallow hunting makes for easy cover for those late votes

I'll try to lay it out better tomorrow
Civ or bad? Town or Mafia? I think it looks genuine, especially given that he didn't really have a follow-up on it the next day. I think it really looks like the genuine article: his drunk self thought he saw something, possibly fueled by a presupposition that Owner was bad. If it's a fake (baddie) opinion, then it's well-faked.

Civ or bad? If it's bad, then it's a cheeky slap to us in the form of an "I'm innocently ignorant, see?" play. That would be so clunky. I say Civ-looking.

He gives a comparison:
Last game (scum): confident opinions, defended players who were civ, voted for his teammates, acted trustworthy
This game (unknown): I have few opinions because I haven't been around.
Not: I have few opinions because I'm town.
So... Ugh... Luna, is that a serious case? Like, you legit think his word choice here is a scumslip? Or is this a desperate attempt at a case to take pressure off of you...

See my response to Timmer. I suspected Kara, but then found a post of theirs that made me want to back off. That's why I moved my vote to Bullzeye instead. As far as Bullzeye being an "easy" selection, that may be true. And if that's the case I don't want to join an opportunistic band wagon. I'll be around for the next hour or so and hope to have a confident vote by then.
But you've said previously that you think there is at least some thread/game evidence to support a bullzeye lunch, so if you believe in it, why be hesitant about your vote just because it may also appear opportunistic? I mean, if you think he's bad... why would you move your votr, potentially?
See, I'm hesitant because if Bullz is civ, and he just came in a voted Nova at EOD because he was absent, and there was no other reasons to it, then after Nova flipped scum, there's this nice opportunity to build a case against Bullz, and mafia might jump all over that.
Right, so I guess what I'm getting at is... which do you think it is? Is bullz a civ who came in late and lazy-voted and the baddies will attack it? Or do you think he was bad? You seem to want to vote him, but also not? I'm confused.
This post has some positive/negative contrasts, I suppose, if we are thinking Adolf. BUT context. Trying to determine Luna's Bullzeye opinion, which appears to be wishy-washy enough to warrant the either-or dichotomous questioning.

I don't get the sense that Timmer is trying to push suspicion on Luna, or trying to, like, virtue signal support her either, which are things that baddie Timmer might do, depending on what Luna's alignment is. It just looks legit to me.

Mac's focus on the chance that we are not in fact down two dead baddies is interesting, to say the least, but I'm not sure where to go with it . I'll admit I'm at a loss in the game right now... my suspicions have flopped, my thoughts on lc last night make no sense to me now, I'm going to watch the pats/packers game and then regroup later tonight.
Let's start here and go backwards, because starting at the beginning of Day 0 or whatever is lame because posts back then are extra-fluffy and hard to judge. This is the post Mac called out the Hitler tell on. I don't really see the positive/negative thing that is the basis of the 'tell', because I don't see anything I'd rate "positive" or "negative". Pretty uniformly grey, so I don't understand how Mac decided to apply it.

But now, with Timmer's "The only useful thing I can tell you is that there really may be something to the idea that the dead baddies aren't necessarily bad."... I mean, that is ALMOST a contrast to what he said earlier, "Mac's focus on the chance that we are not in fact down two dead baddies is interesting, to say the least, but I'm not sure where to go with it ". I say 'almost' because I now see that it's only a contrast when I put my own spin on what Timmer was saying earlier. I took it to mean "I don't know what this is, but it has my interest", but I guess it could mean "I'm interested because I have a knowledge-angle on this same thing".

This disrupted my thing I was doing, so I'll post it now.
