Long Con wrote:Sigh... something you should know about Long Con... I can be careless and make mistakes...because I'm bad. Bad at paying attention, especially when I'm having a few drinks in the evening...because I'm bad. Well, I guess it's not so bad to have a few drinks, especially on Christmas holidays, and I shouldn't blame the booze - it's my responsibility to monitor my own situation and do things right, and when I make mistakes, it's not...because I'm bad.

I have made a mistake in this phase, and it was unintentional, but I want to apologize to the player that knew it all along...because I'm bad. My intentions were to play it as straight as possible, and I messed it all up...because I'm bad. I'm sure most of you will fully understand what I'm talking about, and it's not a point I wish to belabor - in fact, the only reason I would even acknowledge the existence of the point is that it was my personal careless mistake that brought it up...because I'm bad.

Oh, yeah, I forgot I wanted to apologize to Vice Principal Nero for messing up my curse. I was supposed to end every sentence with "...because I'm bad." And when I started, it was late and I was tired, and I remembered it wrong, doing most of it as "...as a baddie."

Zebra, I hope you weren't too upset ...because I'm bad. :haha:

Due to his "Don't count your chickens" remark about getting lynched, I interpreted that to be a signal that Long Con was Hector. However, when the tied lynch was neither stopped nor switched, I determined that Long Con is not Hector, because he would not have taken such a risk. He would have either stopped the lynch or switched it to the person he voted for. He may yet be Justice Strauss, but that doesn't explain his comment about chickens. I do not suspect him, but I don't believe he is Hector.
:haha: :haha: No signal. I just knew I wasn't getting lynched, so when someone suggested that I would be lynched, I just told them that, as in "Don't count your chickens before they're hatched." A common idiom, not a signal.

I'm just saying it's like ordering a coffee and receiving a Venti Mint-Jive mocha chai tea latte with added whip, chocolate drizzle and coconut shavings for "Garth". My name ain't Garth, ms. barista, but I'll still drink it.
Well I mean, the last few days of the game had a lot of, "I'm just really really sure about him, you guys," which is something I don't like to experience when I'm playing, especially when someone ends up lynched just because nobody is vouching for them. Less BTSC and role checking would help with that, I think.
Yes, and/or more deception possibilities. Public deception possibilities - even the mere idea of Olaf being a Seemer when lynched was enough to wrench up the works in a few places. Having one or two Seemers, a Trickster to mess with other people's (role-checking) abilities, and a couple of Olaf-style Godfather types goes a long way, I think.

Everyone but Dom in the civvies had BTSC with someone and the VFD and cult were known.

That left Sorsha and Dom. Dom managed to lynch you so the town figured he was the super voter.....though with as many votes as you bid on the bowl, a single voter would have made it a coin flip.

I held out basically waiting for Dom. I was pretty dang sure it was Sorsha but Golden was eyeing me. I would have sided with the scum/cult if it was up to me cause I trusted Sorsha, Quin, Daisy and MP not to kill me more than I trusted Sig, Golden, Dom and DDL not to. If Sorsha had a buddy or was innocent, her lynch would have potentially lost me the game and I was willing to take 100% tomorrow over 99% today. Plus, if Dom was Jerome, I figured it wasn't up to me and the town would win. I had Sig pegged as the other townie mason after DDL basically vouched for him. Didn't realize it was a temporary BTSC. Golden didn't know how right he was about there being trust or not. I wanted Quin to win but I wasn't gonna sacrifice my win to help him. I just trusted him more. Figured the town would (perhaps rightly) sacrifice me to win with the cult while cult would (perhaps also rightly) sacrifice the town to win with me.

Good game, town, especially Sig and Golden.

Fist bump to LC and Quin. So glad to get teammates and also not be scum for my first game. Too bad we didn't know Dom was Jerome or we could have still lynched Sorsha yesterday and got a win for Quin.
Oh, I was following along.

There's just certain folks that I don't understand casting a vote for Sorsha. Maybe because she didn't give the defense of "Why?" Just seems kind of hypocritical to blast the idea of narrowing down suspects via 'knowledge', but then just go ahead and vote based on that. Maybe I'm missing something.

When I voted for DDL it made it 2-2-2 between DDL, me, and sprit.

It's not weird that I didn't vote sprit to save myself, because I didn't think I was at a point that I needed to save myself. Plus I had the lynch protection, so saving myself was never a concern.

Yes there is. We still don't know why Glorfindel subbed out or the conversations he may have had with his team about it. He could have told his team to bus him for the civ cred towards the beginning of the game.
The fact that he was replaced anyway does counter that theory to a degree, but there's no good reason to think that both couldn't have happened.
No team in their right mind would ever say 'yes' to this.

If Glorf comes in to my team and asks to be bussed day one, I tell him 'ask for a replacement, we are not bussing you'. What a waste of a limited resource that would be. Especially in a game where you only get a kill once every second day.
No one is trying to lynch sig. It's just not impossible for him to be bad. It's just one of the most unlikely ones.

That's where I stand with sig. I can point to the specific post where MP tries to REALLY softclaim Indy. You know the one, right?
no
Where he was like "And by 'us' I mean the Civvies. I don't really care either way."

Paraphrased.

Re: A Mafia of Unfortunate Events [DAY 6]

LOL, although in the other one (Haiku), I hid you, Golden, in my moderately bad reads, because you were the one I was most sure was Civ. Then you complained about it. And you were bad. How ironic?

As I said, the colour was simply relative. Not meant to say I want to lynch him.

Also, I think I recall a case made that he bussed his teammate. Is that so impossible?

No, I don't believe it. Just... lay off my frikkin' colour choice.

I've already sworn at you about me and hiding my fave Civs in the middle of my lists. In this game and a recent one. When will you learn to stop asking damn questions about my moderately bad reads? :fist: :fist: :fist:

I'm on phone so can't post very well, but lc answered my points so I've gotta think on that.
Inseereal different posts.... your post was so goddamned big I couldn't even read it all at once. :haha:
Daisy did avoid the wagons yes but her being so obviously absent makes her less likely to be mafia in my eyes.
I think that players are absent... not alignments.

Aren't you arguing affiliation?
Couldn't you say... I dunno... sig could be bad by the same argument, but replace "indy" with "civvie"?
sig seems to be acting like a supatown, and he expressed shock that he was orange in my list. I thought maybe he was supposed to be Klaus, but then I read him talking about who else might be Klaus. Is he just supatowning off the Gloryo meta read triumph?

I think LC's post is good stuff. If LC was a teammate of sprityo2, and his team knew LC couldn't be lynched, then sprityo's sudden vote against LC wouldn't make any sense.

I am less likely to vote LC now.
Why doesn't sprit's vote against LC make sense in that context? It could be seen as distancing. It would be odd for sprit not to make the vote. Wouldn't he be entirely unafraid to make the vote knowing LC could get lynched and then they both end up not lynched? Especially if LC is honest about his save being for day two only...
I think I discussed this very well recently in a reply to sig.
