In the first Recruitment Mafia, Heaven and Hell did battle on earth, while Erlatz the Conqueror invaded from another dimension. Beelzebub, the Devil's main lieutenant, won the game and took his army and chased the defeated Erlatz into his own dimension, doing battle with despot Erlatz's forces and the downtrodden Civvies in Recruitment Mafia II: The Revolution.

The Civvies won their hard-earned peace, which has lasted for centuries... until now.
