Re: Share your artwork here
This one is sort of an advancement on some earlier poured painting ideas. I put wax borders down to contain each pour.

Re: Share your artwork here
Thanks, ladies! The frog is one that I'm very proud of. My aunt asked if I took that photo myself when I put it on Facebook. Best post!!
The frog is actually from a picture I took at the cottage this summer:

Re: Share your artwork here
And this one was another learning experience. I learned that Epoxy Resin generates enough heat as it sets to melt wax!
Before the resin pour, the painting looked like this:
Here are a couple of angles from after the pour:

Re: Share your artwork here
Sorry, Epi, but by the time you had posted that, I had already painted over it.
Here's what it looks like now:
I cut into the wax after painting, to make those curvy lines at the corners.

Re: Share your artwork here
So sometimes things don't work out. I just finished up on a painting that I don't really like. I believe I'll paint over it, but I thought I'd share it anyway:

Re: Share your artwork here
So, I don't want to make anyone sad, but I made a mistake with that red painting. It was not as dry as I thought, and I put it on something on an slight angle, and the paint all ran. It is now a different painting, and the one I posted here is gone forever.
I'll miss some parts, but I do love the new version as well:
I call it "The Spectre of Death" now, because that dark area to the left looks, to me, like some Skeletor Grim Reaper, and I likes it!

Thanks guys! Caught the bug again and I went and made another one last night:
I have a few more ideas I want to try as well. I want to mix this technique with encaustic (wax) painting.

Never exhibited anything, I only have a vague notion as to how I would go about doing that, really. Take them to some place and say "Hey, you wanna hang these on your wall?"

Re: Share your artwork here
Makaze will always be held in high esteem here for his work in fixing our site after the Incident. I'd love to see some of his work!
Here's one James and I did a couple of nights ago. He counted the various paintings the three of us have done that are hanging in the house, and it was the thirtieth. James wanted to mark it as such, so we did a little golden glitter 30.

Re: Share your artwork here
Yeah, I took a bunch of paints and little canvasses in, and some examples of previous pours:
, and they each made at least one... a couple of them did more than one. Here's some photos, so many great ones! They choose the colours, and they tilt the canvas to flow the poured paint around.

Re: Share your artwork here
I went to my son Tyler's Beaver colony last week to do a poured painting session with them... bunch of 5 - 7-year-olds. Went great... Tyler's was really awesome, pictured above:

Re: Share your artwork here
Damn, I poured this on top of a bunch of wooden hexagons with the intention to cut them out when it's dry... now I love it very much and I'm sad I have to cut it up:

I downloaded the movie, and found a shot of him that I liked, and I Photoshopped him on to use as a guide. I penciled him in lightly, then painted.

Re: Share your artwork here
Here's something I whipped together with my son James. The colours weren't really by choice... they were the only oils left from a bunch that were stored in the garage, and mice got into them. We wanted to play with layering and texture a little, but the condition of the paints made it difficult.... need to get some new paints and try it again.

Jean-Paul Riopelle.... I think this is a close-up of a larger painting... but just look at that. How do you paint like that? Insane.
