Re: Recruitment Mafia 4: Dawn of the Clans

Ok, I finished writing the opening post. Sorry it's a long one, but I just wanted to set the scene a little. If you don't want to read it all, then that's fine.

Re: Recruitment Mafia 4: Dawn of the Clans

Wow, ok. aapje, Sorsha, Russ, G-Man! Whaaaaa?!

I'm going to have to put an order in for an extra-large canister of Epic now.

I need to get working on an opening post, to set the mood, theme, and storyline of the game up. I have an outline in my mind, but I still need to nail it down so that the story can flow freely from it.

Re: Recruitment Mafia 4: Dawn of the Clans

Elohcin, glad you made it on board! :nicenod:

DrWilgy, great to see you over here, I hope you enjoy this game. It will be a little more involved and convoluted than the 90's Kids Mafia we played in together, so I hope you enjoy that kind of thing!

Timmer, you will have your chance to shine in an epic role, I promise!

And bea... so you showed your scum face around here, eh? :feb: We'll be giving you an evil role, hope you enjoy it. Just kidding! The Holy Randomizer oversees all things. :yay:

I don't doubt that you will get a chance to play it. We will surely need replacements, assuming the "I have to think about this..." option indicates a maybe or a willingness to replace in. It's a bit vague. BR did it, and didn't even consult me. :shrug2: :srsnod:
G-Man wrote:I know what you mean. It's been wonderful getting back into this world after so much time away from it. I figure once the little one starts sleeping through the night (maybe January?) I'll join a speed game here and there to test the waters of game-RL balance. You'll just have to create a fifth installment and relieve me of my Recruitment virginity then.
Ok, but you have to promise to always use protection from now until at least a year from now. ;) We won't stand for any newborn babies coming between us for Recruitment 5 or A World Asunder. You shall play! :noble:

Re: Recruitment Mafia 4: Dawn of the Clans

That's right Typhoony. Everyone gets rotating roles. We think this will create some interesting new perspectives for suspicion - why did nutella vote for Position 4 that time? Why is Epi pushing for Position 3? Is he on Ubzargan's team and wants immunity for his leader? Etc. :srsnod:
unfurl wrote:Since there are some questions already, I will ask some about game mechanich, which I dont know since I did not played the previous ones

so civvies win with civvies, and mafia with mafia, even if they are two main teams different?

And can someone be no recruited at the end of the game? what happends to them

and how the recruitment takes place? does the leader know the name of the player? or there is a method?
Civvie group 1 needs to defeat baddie group 1 and 2
Civvie group 2 needs to defeat baddie group 1 and 2
Baddie group 1 needs to defeat Civvie group 1 and baddie group 2
Baddie group 2 needs to defeat Civvie group 2 and baddie group 1

That's how we have it right now. I think it kind of boils down to the usual - Civvies have to defeat all the baddies, and the baddies have to defeat the other baddie team and the Civvies. Basically.

Recruitment happens in a variety of ways, from leaders choosing players, to general application, to contests, and more! If you are unrecruited at the end of the game, then you will not win. It is unlikely to happen though, unless one team just brutally murders the game and wins early.

Re: Recruitment Mafia 4: Dawn of the Clans

Typhoony is correct, to a degree. Each night, players will vote on which Position will be chosen for the next Day/Night phase. Mostly, we'll go through all Positions before repeating any, though that might change as the game goes on. Each role will be on the same Position during any given phase.

It will not be the same without you. Will you be able to play A World Reborn in a couple of months-ish?
