Re: [END] Pet Sounds Mafia

Matt F wrote:FZ - Who was your civilian role check at the beginning of the game?
It was Wilgy.

When I found out I was dead, I was so bummed after trying so hard not to be obvious. I thought I screwed up and you guys were on to me, or at least that you thought I was a threat. Turns out you just killed me for lack of better options. I'm offended :p

Re: [END] Pet Sounds Mafia

Congrats to the mafia (Boomslang, Matt and Enrique). Good job! :nicenod:

I can't believe you killed me for no good reason :(

Amazingly, I think this was the first time in all the years I've been playing, where I've been a cop, and you brutally took it away from me :pout:

Re: [DAY 1] Pet Sounds Mafia

I won't be back until the end of the day, so I'm leaving my vote on bcornett. It's the best I have for day 1. I hope more people come and talk.

Bcornett, what answer did/do you expect out of Zebra?
It wasn't aimed at zebra. it was aimed at Enrique.

Re: [DAY 1] Pet Sounds Mafia

Wilgy, you asked what about bcormett made me feel opportunistic, here it is:

I kinda figured I'd end up getting votes if it turned to be a historically bad idea, but it caught my eye and it's not like there's been a lot more to discuss, even now.

So basically we play it hardcore these games. It's pretty essential to be getting our lynches right from the start or we're toast. That makes sense. Hope to see more discussion before the poll's up.
Why did you suspect that you would be getting votes? Why is it a bad idea to vote for you?
Those questions. What did he expect him to say when asking why is it a bad idea to vote for him? It's the kind of question that you ask just for the sake of asking a question. Seems like trying to be helpful when you're really not.

And then, since I think going after Luke for his vote is silly, because as a baddie, you'd have to be an idiot to vote like that after the discussion that was happening, I didn't like his vote here:

Enrique wrote:Okay, wait, what? Since when is Bullzeye even playing :p You with us FZ?

Wilgy, it just seems odd that you'd give up on a productive Day 1 so quickly. Do I agree that RVS is preferable to No Lynch? Yeah, I get that, but voting for me at that point was opportunistic. As is, IMO, this whole Luke thing you guys are talking about. His vote is questionable insofar it tells us he hadn't read the thread. Big deal, but absolutely not a reason to be shifting all the attention his way.
I meant Boomslang :derp:

I agree about Luke

Re: [DAY 1] Pet Sounds Mafia

I won't be on much today.

I found bcornett's post about Luke to be opportunistic, and don't get a good vibe from him. My vote goes there for now. Another possibility is Bullzeye for the same reasons.
Wilgy sounds fine to me.

Re: [DAY 1] Pet Sounds Mafia

Hi, wasn't expecting this game to start so soon. Now I'm playing two games simultaneously. But I see so far it's mainly jokes.
Enrique wrote:Okay, guys. I'm still kinda finding my feet on this whole new back-to-basics Mafia dealio but I couldn't help but notice we have a fancy new No Lynch option? Is it me or does that sound completely amazing? Has this become like the norm in new games? Because I totally dig it as an option.

Day 1 is usually a bit of a crapshoot, and the odds are really not in or favor if it's just picking someone at random. So if the day goes by and we still have no idea what we're doing, would it be smart to just not lynch anyone? Has this been a working strategy before in other games? Or would it be better to make assessments based on who was riding certain lynch trains?

Either way it's kinda neat to have there.
Hi, I don't believe we've played together before :)

On my home site, having a no lynch option was a regular thing. It's a good option to have on day 1 because 1 it's easy to lynch a civvie that day, and if you're really not sure, I think the better option would be to let everyone live instead of ending up lynching a townie. So if there's a person who's getting many votes when you think they shouldn't, but you can't decide with the rest of the town on who to lynch instead, I'd try to persuade others to go for the "no lynch" option.
That said, relying on it is a waste of day 1. We've caught baddies plenty of times on day 1, so I think we should always aspire to lynch and use it as a last resort. It's easier for baddies to blend in that way because they don't have to account for their vote.
