Referring to how you twisted FZ's words…FZ said that quiet Epi is never a good thing. She was referring to what quiet means for your alignment. Not your success rate & suspicions as a civvie, which you made it seem like she was referring to with the example of how you wrongfully suspected her when neutral but civilian allied in Death Note (I think that is the game).

Re: [DAY 1] Talking Heads Mafia (RYM #90)
While I am not sure on the suspicion, my vote is going to Epi for now. I don't anticipate changing it, because I do not have anyone else that I would really consider suspicious enough.
I understand that I do not have that much experience with Epi, and maybe the lack of TS players commenting on him means FZ and I are just seeing things (I don't know how much experience she has with him), but I just feel him being quieter is weird, and his counterargument doesn't work for me because he basically twisted what FZ was saying. I honestly cannot tell if that is his personality, but to me it is suspicious because he took what she said and applied it to a completely different context.
I have to hurry up and go now.
I'll try to be back.
VOTE: EPI.

Re: [DAY 1] Talking Heads Mafia (RYM #90)
I'm not sure I agree with the votes for Diiny.
If I am right in thinking that the suspicion initiated from his interaction with Roxy, I can't say that I blame him for thinking some of her posts were suspicious. If I did not have prior experience with her, I might have found them suspicious too. Especially the dismissive attitude 'get used to it'. I feel like that is her personality, and it can come off scummy to people who aren't used to it.
IDK about sig. Nothing had stuck out to me, good or bad, and I have to look back at that but I don't have time ATM.

Re: [DAY 1] Talking Heads Mafia (RYM #90)
When I said good, I was referring to the other points (about claiming to be a minimal poster and the interaction with Llama). I disagreed with the connection part of the case and was saying that I don't think mafia members would nominate each other like that because I would eventually catch up to them. However, after JJJ's defense, I don't consider find him suspicious because of these things.MacDougall wrote:How is it that you can say that the case is good and well thought out but then move to immediately invalidate it? Isn't the latter action a result of the former being untrue?kneel4justice wrote: But Zebra does seem to have a good (thought out) case on JJJ. But, I don't know that there is much credibility to the voting between Epi/JJJ/Sig. I doubt that they would want to establish that connection - I certainly wouldn't, but, perhaps players here just have a completely different mindset than me.
Also can someone explain what BTSC is?
BTSC is behind the scenes conversation. So, like the mafia talking to each-other outside of the thread.

Re: [DAY 1] Talking Heads Mafia (RYM #90)
Honestly, I didn't realize that other players were guilty of doing the same thing. Probably because with reywaS, his response was one-worded, so it struck me as memorable, because I was left wondering where he went, in combination with the fact that I paid more attention to him because of his Cyclops icon, lol. I don't know the majority of the players in this game or how to read them, so I haven't been able to widely focus on everyone.Rbzmncaeaei wrote:Everything in this post of yours made me feel inclined to have a town read of you (which would be impressive considering I have either a neutral or baddie read on literally everyone else) with the exception of the part that I've singled out here. For one, reywaS is one of quite a few people I've seen come in and say hello while either not posting anything else since or at the least waiting to catch up before posting again, but especially it seems strange that you would call reywaS out when bcor was not only present at the exact same time, but even threw out a random vote without any comments on my suspicions towards JJJ. I'm more likely to get a town read from someone saying my case on another player is horrendous rather than someone that acts like no such case was even posted, because the latter tells me that they're afraid they might reveal too much about themselves or someone else if they make any comments about it. So it could be that I simply disagree with your singling out of reywaS here, but it could also be that I'm on to your opportunistic suggestions.kneel4justice wrote:
reywaS' post saying 'hello' and then not adding anything to the discussion stuck me as odd, especially because I felt the moment he had came in was when the game was really starting, because Zebra brought forward the case against JJJ. So, why didn't reywaS comment on that?Time shall tell.
But, if I was mafia - I think it would be more opportunistic to call a few other people out on the same thing.
It did not seem to me as though Elo had the intention of scumhunting, because she said that her Day 1 vote would go to the player who made her laugh, so yeah. And as hard as it is for me to not suspect that reason, I've learned that is just how some players on this site approach Day 1.Rbzmncaeaei wrote:Another yellow flag here. Your initial suspicions of Eloh seemed understandable to me even though I didn't share them, but your response here, particularly the final question, is seeming to imply that you're suggesting someone isn't scumhunting on the basis of a single post in which in that same post they had admitted that they hadn't even caught up yet.kneel4justice wrote:This was actually a funny response, lmao.Elohcin wrote:I wasn't joking. I'm from K-Site, not many of our players have transitioned over here unfortunately. But some TS players have been kind enough to visit our site. We take things more seriously, because our day phases are much longer than 48 hours. Here a lot of players seem to just randomly vote on Day 1, or even in later phases. So I am kind of assuming that it is your style to do something of that nature on Day 1? Rather than actually try to scum-hunt?

Well now let's see.
Raise your hand if loud Epi ever railroaded you when you were a civilian and got your ass lynched.
Raise your hand if you wished loud Epi would have shutted up the fuck.
I thought so.
I don't see why me being quiet is "never a good thing."
While you might wrongfully lynch civvies when vocal, I think that your vocal persona is associated with civilian. Maybe you're not leading the lynches of civvies when quiet, but who's to say you're not killing us off instead?
It is weird that you would try to write your quietness off as something positive, IMO.

You make a good point. I wanna know exactly what "quiet Epi is never a good thing" really means to FZ. I want to know why she said it exactly, a ideally with some reference points where he was a quiet baddie and it was not a good thing... or something. You know.
I don't have that much experience with Epi, so maybe I am wrong in thinking that his vocalness is associated with civ. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I just remember in my very first game, I think that it was WWE Mafia, he was very vocal and controlling of the thread. His personality is one of the few that I remember. Then in Cards Against Humanity, he was very different and quiet, in the beginning at least (he did become very vocal in the end). Now that I am recalling more details of the game, perhaps the quietness was game specific - because the mafia teams were divided, so a team of 4 were broken up into pairs of 2...I don't think that we knew who our other team mates were, so maybe he just didn't want to lynch his teammates. I did play this game a long time ago. FZ and MM saying that quiet is never a good thing with him just added onto my confidence in thinking I saw a difference between his civvie and mafia behavior. Perhaps not?

I think it was appropriate. I personally never understood the idea that votes shouldn't be taken seriously just because they can be changed, because in the end they're still votes and there is no guarantee that the person is going to change it.thellama73 wrote:Question for the group:

Re: [DAY 1] Talking Heads Mafia (RYM #90)
Looking back on Zebra's case against JJJ after he has had the chance to defend/explain himself, I'm inclined to think that there is not much to it.
That being said, I did get a few pings from JJJ. A few comments made me wonder if he was trying to buddy up to players (1. He complimented Zebra's game-play and even mentioned hopes that they could work together, 2. He seemed to really want to establish a connection with Diiny), but I am not sure if that is just him being genuine and enthusiastic. He is very involved and appears to be scum-hunting, so I have mixed thoughts on him.
The interaction between Diiny and Roxy, I don't know what to make of Diiny but Roxy is reminding me of the last game that I played with her (in which she was civvie). She kept making comments on how things were not enough to get her vote. So, I am not suspicious of her statements regarding possibly randomly voting, especially since that seemed to be a technique to get reactions.
Bea does not strike me as suspicious with her saying positive things about people because I think that matches her game style, but if people who know her better than I have a different perspective, then I would love to hear. I was kind of in the same boat as her just now, without having many suspicions, so I don't blame her. I also think sometimes it is easier to use a sort of process of elimination style in the beginning to find out who you're really suspicious of (as long as you revisit the players and don't trust in them too much).
That being said, I can't necessarily say that I blame LC for suspecting her.
I would agree with FZ and MM that Epi's silence is not a good thing, but I want to give it time and not make the mistake of jumping on it too early. I'll be watching him.
reywaS' post saying 'hello' and then not adding anything to the discussion stuck me as odd, especially because I felt the moment he had came in was when the game was really starting, because Zebra brought forward the case against JJJ. So, why didn't reywaS comment on that?
FZ (I'm so happy to see you've arrived <3), I just want to clarify - Ricochet's vote was not really at the end of Day 0, more mid-day zero, but no one knew when the day was going to end, it would end when all players had checked in. So, there was still time to adjust the poll's ties. Personally, I was of the mindset that a mafia member wouldn't go in and vote for an option that was already safe from ties - since ultimately the goal was to avoid ties. It seemed like it would draw unnecessary attention to him.
Also, Elo's post struck me as odd, but I am thinking it is once again a cultural difference. Or maybe she was joking? IDK. If someone who knows her better could give me some thoughts on it, that would be appreciated.
Ricochet, I hope that color is better for you. I just wanted to make names stand out so people could see if I was speaking of them, since the bold feature doesn't seem to make much of a difference.

Re: [DAY 1] Talking Heads Mafia (RYM #90)
Yes, we did.espers wrote:did the syndicate players have their own private day 0 thread? anything happen there?
The biggest thing that happened was between Richchet and Matt F. We had a poll with special abilities options, but MP said that we won't want to have any ties. After some votes had been made, Ricochet came in and voted for the only option with 0 votes and tied it with an option that had 1 vote (so, had that option not gotten any votes it would have been in no danger of being tied). He made a statement about how fixing that tie was future voters problem or something - I am not sure how he phrased it, so don't rely too heavily on my paraphrasing. Anyways, his comment struck Matt F as suspicious and they exchanged a back and forth. Ricochet then made some questionable statements, such as 'I'll answer your questions, if you promise not to twist my words

That was difficult to recall. Members who were in The Syndicate group, please correct me if I am wrong about anything.
BTW - do you guys think there will be more thread divisions - or hidden phases that we can no longer access? We might want to save some posts that we find suspicious, if that is the case? Otherwise we won't be able to clearly refer to the evidence. IDK if this twist is a familiar thing to either forum (I have only played maybe 3 or 4 games here on TS).
I wish I could see RYM's Night 0.
It is difficult suspecting people based on summaries rather than actually being able to read the posts. But Zebra does seem to have a good (thought out) case on JJJ. But, I don't know that there is much credibility to the voting between Epi/JJJ/Sig. I doubt that they would want to establish that connection - I certainly wouldn't, but, perhaps players here just have a completely different mindset than me.
