This looks like it would be against the rules, or at least the intended spirit. I say so because of what happened in Economics Mafia when the roles had to be reshuffled and players weren't allowed to even say as much as "I was mafia before and now I'm town".

The champions sat around enjoying the long luxurious day. The sun was out, the birds were singing, and they even thought they saw the hints of a double rainbow - no wait, it's starting to look like a TRIPLE rainbow. They seemed so at peace, frolicking in the grass and eating picnic lunches and it was beautiful. And instead of killing each other like usual, they chose to enjoy the good company of one another, and they all remembered that even though they were playing a game and accusing each other based on their behavior, that at the end of the day they would still all be friends and have a grand old time. Turnip Head even sat with them, and while blowing the petals off a daisy he said "Remember everyone, it's not personal, it's mafia." And they all remembered that.

It was such a lovely and joyous occasion, I cannot believe it was so lovey dovey but it truly was. But suddenly that all changed when...

It was Turnip's "At least there was only one death!" shortly followed by DFaraday's death, which seemed like a nod that the latter was for some unrelated reason. Additionally, if there's only one mafia team, it would imply that the intended mafia kill was blocked unless Zebra was forced to shoot herself or something like that.

Oh, I just took that as evil host being evil because he knew DFs death was about to be posted by SVS.

Turnip gnawed at his roots as he pondered his latest problem. He turned to S~V~S. “So, they’re not supposed to know who is killing them, right? That’s like the whole point, they don’t know?”

“But won’t they know who’s killing them, like they’ll see their faces?”

A lightbulb clicked in Turnip’s head and he sprang to action. “I have an idea. I must consult the dark one.”

Turnip Head approached the throne of his master, quivering slightly. “Master, I have an idea for my mafia game, but I need your help.”

His master sighed. “Listen, I’m balls deep in academic work right now, and I’m about to leave on a trip for Scottsdale, and I’m busy running video game matches of cartoon robots fighting each other. But please, tell me how I can help you.”

“Well, I need to disguise the identities of the players, so no one will know who is who, because I’m told that is the point of mafia. I was told you have some servants who fit this bill. They’re like not real accounts, they’re just disguises. I believe you call them shadowpuppets.”

His master was confused. “Do you mean... sockpuppets?”

“Hmmm, no, I really felt like shadow was the operative word there. Shadowsocks?”

“Ah yes, the shadowsocks, my most powerful minions. Do you need them?”

“Tonight, I need a lot of them.”

And so throughout the night, the shadowsocks were unleashed to do their master’s bidding. Massive shadowy sock-like figures they were, with bulging sock muscles and terrible sock teeth. They approached the champions as they slept.

In RadicalFuzz’s tent, a shadowsock tickled his face with a feather before devouring him whole.

In timmer’s tent, a shadowsock peed on his nightstand before ripping him to shreds.

In bcornett24’s tent, a shadowsock contemplated the purpose of its existence, and why this fate had been chosen from him, and the meaning of free will, before tossing bcornett24 into a woodchipper.


Turnip Head was pleased with the solution to his problem.

It is now Day 3.0. You have 48 hours to lynch someone.

How will humanity as we know it come to an end?

As the sound of the bells rang out signaling the start of the tournament, Turnip Head had a sudden realization and turned to S~V~S with a horrified expression on his face.

“What is it?” S~V~S asked him. “You look like you just binge watched 8 episodes of Making a Murderer.”

“Well, they’re gonna be at this a long time right? Like a month, maybe longer?”

“Probably.”

“So they’re gonna be running around slaughtering each other nonstop for days on end?”

“It stands to reason.”

Turnip’s expression turned even more grave. “Well, we forgot to give them something to eat.”

S~V~S gasped. “Scandalous!”

Down in the arena, the combatants were coming to the same realization themselves. Amidst the panic, one voice stood above the rest.

“Brothers, sisters, civilians and mafia alike! I am Ricochet of Nauru, and I beg you to eat me.”

The others were confused, and tried to figure out whether he was being serious or nonsensical.

Turnip Head heard this through the monitors in the observation room, and rushed toward the arena. “We can’t allow this! What have we done? We must save him!”

S~V~S tried to stop him, “Let nature take its course, you are overthinking it.” But he was already out the door.

Fourteen combatants circled around RIcochet, readying their weapons to turn against him. “Don’t save me, this was my destiny all along. Omelette au cannibalism."

Turnip Head entered the scene, only to find that he was too late. The others had already torn into Ricochet like a bag of beef jerky.

“It is accomplished,” Riochet said with his last breaths. “I am dead. Confirmed.”

Turnip lowered his head in sorrow. “Yes, yes you are.”
