Re: [Day 2] Bullets Over Broadway Mafia
I'm suspicious of Hedgeowl for wanting the Cobalt/LC thing to play out another day. At this point it looks like this has been a personal vendetta by Cobalt towards LC and that it was always going to head this way. I think this shows that Cobalt is acting completely of his own accord, and while I find his play to be unhelpful, I think he's generally telling the truth. But I don't know if indulging him in this is productive. That said it's a complete distraction, and if we're going to deal with it at all then it's better to deal with it now then let it derail the thread for another 72 hours.
I don't know about BR yet, I'm not suspicious of her at this time. I think it's interesting she suspects me for playing under the radar when that's what she's been doing herself so far :P
I'm thinking of voting for Hedgeowl, or maybe for nutella because she completely ignored my thoughts on her 0_0

Re: [Day 2] Bullets Over Broadway Mafia
It's not out of the question, I just think the wifom angle is less likely. Doesn't prohibit LC or Cobalt being on the mafia team that didn't kill Night 1, but I don't think either of them are on the team that killed Epi, because it so obviously leads to continued focus on those two.Bass_the_Clever wrote:Here you say that the kill could be designed to make us keep looking at LC and Cobalt, but is it out of the question for the mafia to do it and play the wifom card?Turnip Head wrote:Golden's vote switch looks legit to me. I think the Epignosis kill was designed to make us keep looking at LC and Cobalt today. I don't have too many suspects at this point but my gut is telling me to look at Nutella more. Hedgeowl is still on my radar for general blendiness. I also thought Blooper's vote was... interesting.
Sig seems okay to me but I want to look more into the interactions surrounding him.
IMO it's not very fun to play the wifom card as a baddie, and I think LC and Cobalt are both more inventive than that, especially against a foe like Epi. Cobalt in particular did not seem phased by Epi's approach toward him.

Can you point to anything specific though that feels like it came from a genuine townie mindset? I have the same collective vibe from nutella's posts: they feel slick and not off at all. I guess that's the same thing that has me thinking I should look closely at her.Golden wrote:For me, civ vibes rarely come from specific posts or perspectives - it's more the collective vibe I get that over a series of posts nothing about them feels off to me. Re: [Day 1] Bullets Over Broadway Mafia
@Sloonei re: SVS the thing is, I've seen her shrug off some suspicion of her like that in just about every game I've played with her recently. So far I think she would have said the things she's said regardless of her role or alignment. I don't think it points to her being bad but I can understand where your suspicion comes from because she hasn't addressed concerns that you have.

Re: [Day 1] Bullets Over Broadway Mafia
I'd like to see some specifics. What do you mean by her posts feeling passive? More importantly can you show how her passiveness equates to her badness? It feels like a lot of people have a strong opinion on SVS already, but she's still a null read for me.Sloonei wrote:SVS is only "the one" for me when i've narrowed it down to those three options, and since i made that declaration I think i've actually moved hack toward Cobalt. I'll probably wait to see how others vote before I decide myself.Spoiler: show
But as for SVS, I was swayed by her most recent responses in the thread, which did almost nothing to dismiss the suspicions against her. They felt like relatively passive posts, and nothing in them made me feel good about her.
I can point to specifics later if needed.
linki: Cobalt I think Sloonei hasn't made a case yet because, as he stressed, he's posting mainly from his phone. Hopefully he can elaborate though.

Re: [Day 1] Bullets Over Broadway Mafia
And this is not untrue. Discussing only a few players ad nausea makes for a boring thread and makes it easier for baddies to blend in. I saw Hedgeowl pull the "always reading, commenting from afar" technique to great effect as a puppetmaster baddie in the Doctor Who game and I will never forget.Canucklehead wrote: - TH, our knight errant, comes pricking onto the plain with his sword directed at Hedgeowl's heart. I had no recollection of Hedgie's posts, and I just read them within the last hour, so I can definitely buy some sort of blendiness accusation there….I could also, however, buy an attempt by TH to redirect discussion away from Epi's attention suck and onto other things….

Re: [Day 1] Bullets Over Broadway Mafia
This is what was bothering me too. LC lists you and Epi as two of his suspects and it's related to how you've behaved toward him, it feels like a close-minded thought process. In addition, his suspicion of you is predicated on what will happen if he, Long Con, is lynched and flips civvie. That feels like basic level NO U-ing, right there. It's not really the type of comment I see Long Con making often.S~V~S wrote:Why do you read that as buddying you, as opposed to attacking Epignosis, which is what i was doing?Long Con wrote:I did think it was strange when Hedgeowl was talking about bandwagon votes before voting even started. I thought it was a good sentiment for me personally to have out there, since Epig and Cobalt seem to wish for a bandwagon to happen on me, but it's an odd thing to say nonetheless.
S~V~S may be trying to pocket me with her defense of the word "interesting" and attack on Epig. My lynch would end up making her look better, and my survival with her in my "good books" would be advantageous as well.
If I were making a rainbow list at this point, I'd have Sloonei, Hedgeowl, S~V~S, and Epig as slight Mafia reads, and Golden and MP as slight Civ. I guess I don't need to invoke the rainbow to just say that. I want to read back over the Gumshoe stuff to see who else seemed to be trying to cast it in a worse light than I think it is, I don't think Sloonei was the only one, just the one that stuck out to me.
Linki: Thanks, MM, good to know I can always count on your support. If you did vote, could you let us know if votes are changeable in this game?

Re: [Day 1] Bullets Over Broadway Mafia
It just seems so out of place in that post. And I see what you're saying, she could refer back to that remark to preemptively counter any bandwagons she doesn't like. It's like that sentence came from the future and landed in Hedgeowl's post.Golden wrote:Yes, TH, that's exactly what I was trying to do. I felt like Hedgeowl's statement was definitely something that could be referred back to later to defend LC or SVS, and I didn't want to allow it to be used that way. I could definitely see a scenario where Hedgeowl is in a team with LC or SVS and was hoping to have some else run with her comment and imply that LC or SVS were being bandwagoned.

Re: [Day 1] Bullets Over Broadway Mafia
I'm suspicious of Hedgeowl.
First post:
Second post:Hedgeowl chooses to chime in on the discussion about voting new players out on Day 1. It's not really a post sharing any suspicions. She tacks on a sentence at the end about being wary of "bandwagon votes for seemingly no good reason". This sentence lacks any sort of context within the game or even the rest of Hedgie's post itself. She doesn't really elaborate on what she means by "seemingly" no good reason, so I won't try to draw too much from it, but in any case it's a weird sentiment to share before any votes have been cast at all in the game. Mainly I want to end this point by saying this whole post was a weird, specific, generic thing for Hedgeowl to want to chime in about. Nobody's going to go out there and make a post saying they support lynching newbies on Day 1 for no reason. That's basically the opposite of what Hedgeowl's post says. The opinion that Hedgeowl shares here isn't groundbreaking, so it seems like a weird thing for Hedgeowl to find noteworthy of discussing. And it's not discussing her thoughts on any of the players in the game.
Golden tried to question Hedgie about that last sentence, I think, by attaching it to some context of what's going on in the game. Hedge's reply (also her third post):
Hedgeowl clarifies that her last post was ONLY talking about the general idea of newbies and not on any discussion surrounding actual players in this game. But when Golden mentions Epi, LC et al, she does give her opinion. She ends by saying that there wasn't much noteworthy in the 5 pages she read, and that it took her too long to read. And while I don't disagree with her that there's not much meat to the discussion yet, she chose to post some pretty shallow content herself.
Post the fourth:I'm sensing a pattern with Hedgeowl's contributions here. All mechanics and mafia meta talk, nothing about the game.
First post:
