Re: Arkham Mafia [ENDGAME]

I'm very sad that I did not win this game :(

Thanks Epi and LC for the good time. Thanks hosts for being evil enough to include false info in the logic puzzle. I was so fucking close, yet so far.

Thanks Mac for coming after me Day 1 :haha:

Thanks Matt for saying I lied about my first curse not being the Riddler's doing, and then thinking I was lying about saying it WAS the Riddler, when I really said the complete opposite. Like what the hell :disappoint:

Thanks Enrique for making me think you were Alfred the first couple of days, only to suddenly accuse me of being Alfred and I was all like WTF! Thanks MM for eventually making me realize you were Alfred, only for you to be NK'ed.

Thanks Sorsha for poisoning me and never "curing" me, I can't believe you did that, I knew your secret the whole game :suspish:

Thanks DH for giving me an impossible riddle and the worst punishment of all time. Chrysanthemums warming fuck you.

I guess we were too good at lynching mafiosos while the inmates were too difficult to get lynched. The only one I managed to get rid of was BR, and she won while I didn't lol.

What do you think of Golden's interactions with Mac?
I want to think Golden is bad, but he has such a self-righteous tone right now... that's not really meant as a dig, but I think bad Golden plays a meeker game. It's like he knows he's right so he'll be in your face about it. idk... I've been pinged by him a few times, but his enthusiasm makes me lean town.
Matt wrote:So you think Typh is a good lynch, yes? What do you think of Bullz?

Do you believe Mac is who he says he is, and the Mafia is just letting him live so a player like myself could point that out? I doubt it. I don't have very good feelings about Mac, either.

Elaborate on your feelings on Dom, please. He has come at me several times, each time I respond to his inquiries, then he's like "cool beans", only to go after me the next day again. At one point he even made a self admitted mistake coming after me, yet he still susses me. Weird.
I don't know if Typh is a good lynch. I think he deserves a lot more attention especially with how snarky he was towards Glorfy yesterday. I have no read on Bullz, and he tends to overreact when pressured, so I wouldn't know how to read that either. If he's civ I wish he'd step up a little.

My feelings on Dom are that he's involved and he's not conforming to a strict narrative re: the thread, he's going where his thoughts organically take him. This makes me lean civ. However he hasn't really had any pressure all game and so if he's bad he's been allowed to do as he pleases, which could give me a false read on him. I think Dom needs to be questioned more, but I certainly don't want to be the one to do it, I like Dom and we've agreed on a lot this game so I want to believe he's civ.

Glorfindel I just want to say it was the way that you defended yourself that I found most suspicious. You used dramatic flair and long paragraphs about how malicious the case was and how your civvieness should be obvious and it struck me as protesting too much. If this is indeed a mislynch it will be a learning experience for future games. I'll know that that's just how you defend yourself and you'll know that I found your approach less convincing, not more. I hope you keep playing here, you seem like a swell guy :)

Re: Arkham Mafia [Day 8]

Glorfindel wrote:Alright, I have some things I want to say at this point. I've played probably about 30+ games now across four sites and what I'm seeing right now is in all likelihood (given we are well into this game and it's not Day 1 anymore) the worst mislynch that has occurred in any of them. All the cases that have been brought against me have been some of the weakest I've seen in my experience and despite demanding continuously for my accusers to elaborate on those cases (e.g. Star Wars vs this game) I've been given nothing. As I've said previously, whether you vote for me because you judge me to be bad or vote for Bubbles because you judge me to be bad says infinitely more about all of you than it does about me. I have in my view, done all that I reasonably could to fulfill my role in this game but in the end the avalanche of suspicion that has fallen upon me is something about which I can do very little.

As a committed member of our team, I'm going to place my vote where I think it belongs. Some of you may know more about what's going on in this game than I but for me, I think S-V-S's case on me has from the very beginning been a work of fiction. She's pushed that argument ever since and seems to have found enough people gullible enough to believe it. I think her self-voting (despite her stated reasons for doing so) is bad. If she is Town, I'd see that as an irresponsible and self indulgent act and question her loyalty to our Team.

I'd also like to put on record my gut-wrenching disappointment at one of my fellow players whom I have come to respect deeply who apparently has found it so easy to disregard what they know to be true and abandon me to the point where they no longer care about my lynching. It's a pretty bitter pill to swallow and although this is a game, I'm still bitterly disappointed about that.

As for this game and my part in it, I think you guys are going to hopefully take some lessons from it. One being Matt's Two-Face theory on me. That defied all logic from the time that he made that post yet, many of you still bought it. For the sake of all of you, my Team, I hope you can still pull this one out of the fire.

"A penny for my thoughts? Oh no, I'll sell 'em for a dollar,
They're worth so much more after I'm a goner
And then maybe then you'll hear the words I've been singing.
Funny when you're dead how people start listening.
If I die young, bury me in satin,
Lay me down on a bed of roses,
Sink me in the river at dawn.
Send me away to the words of a love song."

I kinda thought sig was Montoya on account of Glorfindel getting silenced at the time that he did. Which is what led me to believe that Freeze had already won the game after sig died and we saw no kills. Or maybe an inactive player is Freeze and doesn't know they're supposed to be killing people. Or maybe Freeze is dead.

What role are you assuming he claimed? I'm pretty sure he took responsibility for killing Zeebs, which leaves one role, which is not vanilla.
Zebra was killed by Bullock and I'd missed the fact he could track someone at night:
Detective Harvey Bullock
Bullock tracks or kills someone each Night. He has just one kill. Better make it a good one.

I somehow skipped over a bit and just read "he has one kill", leading me to assume that with his kill cashed in he was now powerless. Still, maybe the baddies just don't think a tracker is too big of a threat. Or maybe they don't buy his claim.

Why do you think TH is bad and who thinks he is Alfred? The case was that he wasn't Alfred.

That would be STUPID. Like, there is literally no scenario in which I would do that, and no scenario in which ANY baddie should do that.
Flawed or not, I think it's safe to say I'm making these arguments in order to see your reactions. You calling it STUPID kinda makes me feel like you really feel that way :P

But the truth is I don't know if you're on a team with Glorfindel. I suspect him for his behavior independent of yours. And your reaction to the lynch, which I do find suspect, isn't connected to Glorfindel either. You could be baddies on opposite teams for all I know. It's not particularly bold. I don't ever artificially react to lynches. Even when bad, bringing in pointless lies is stupid, and has no upside. My lynch reaction is always genuine. This isn't something new. Go look how often I say RIP or even goodbye to lynched people. It's relatively rare. I only say something in response to a death if I have a particular emotional reaction. That's an interesting answer to my question, mainly because it's not an answer to my question. Because I wouldn't be annoyed at a civ giving up if I were bad. That would not be a genuine emotional reaction from baddie me.

Have already answered this question before.

I'm not bad in any way shape or form, and I think there is a point I can make to you and TH in particular that should assist you in realising I am not Glorfindel's teammate.

In World Reborn, who was the one who kept cautioning about doing anything obvious? Who was the one that got very tense about our plan to lynch Metalmarsh because it could expose us all? Who was the one panicking they would be obviously linked to you when the plan failed? Me. I was the one who was really concerned about the plan making it obvious who we are. It should also be noted that part of the reason we won that game is because I did not seem obviously linked to any of you.
Okay but that's a different game with a different team. I don't think it's unreasonable to think you'd treat Glorfindel differently than me or Dom or timmer (lol). I don't think there's many people here who would throw a new player like Glorfindel under the bus.

And so what if he was Mr. Freeze? There's more anti-town roles than town roles for Freeze to block, if he's already won he can be a great asset to the town.
If you feel so passionate about neither of the options for sprit being worth lynching, why didn't YOU fight hard for him to not be lynched?
Are you kidding me? That's exactly what I've been doing, I just pointed you to a post where I did exactly that :suspish:

I don't understand either, Golden, but you literally acknowledged it as a possibility, then in post-lynch claimed you wouldn't have voted had you known it was a possibility.

You are back pedalling so hard.
Well whatever. Do you think I have a baddie reason for coming out right after the lynch and saying what I said?

Reminds me of SVS going after me in recruitment for admitting to having tried to bait an epi kill.
Well yeah you could be trying to wash your hands of this mislynch :mafia:

You keep saying that he gave up. I didn't interpret it that way at all. And to say so after he's dead... it feels like you're blaming the victim.

Voting for Glorfy. If he's civ I want him to stop telling me that he's town and SHOW me that he's town.
I swear, I don't know what you expect of me DH. I AM trying and will continue to. I still don't get a bad feeling about you at all but I am frustrated by your apparently inability to even consider the possibility that I am being truthful. As I said earlier, I feel increasingly uneasy about Sprityo and his behaviour so on this occasion, I'll support this lynch. I hope I'm right - you seem like a really nice guy Sprityo and if I'm wrong, I'm genuinely sorry.
Because "the possibility that I am being truthful" isn't very convincing. A mafioso who constantly calls himself town is one of the easiest lies, so when you keep saying it over and over again, it doesn't make me want to believe you.

Per the underlined, I went back to look for this. Working backwards:
Glorfindel wrote:

You, Golden & Glorfindel, I presume?
Not necessarily, my friend. Firstly, let me say that I'm unsure what you were asking of me earlier. You asked for why I would vote for you without stating any of Golden's case? I've already done that less than a couple of pages ago - you're welcome to go back and read it for yourself. I've slept on this vote overnight and I'm now considering if there might be better options this Day phase. As I've said earlier, I am feeling bad vibes over the Sprityo thing right now so my vote for you is by no means locked in at this point.
Glorfindel wrote:As for your 'other suspicions' I share them too. While I didn't have a problem with Sprityo earlier, I am now concerned at his behaviour this Day phase and would consider him as an option for my vote. As far as your point three goes, you should forgive me for what I see as a significant number of more experienced players getting a 'free ride'. Take Matt for example. He made a statement towards the end of the last Day phase referencing his suspicions on TH and MP. I asked for him to elaborate and I can't recall a single 'on topic' post from him since. Meanwhile, someone makes a statement to the effect that my playstyle is reminiscent of my Star Wars performance (without any obvious level of analysis to justify the claim) and people who weren't even in Star Wars accept that.
I feel like you did not go out of your way to elaborate on this read at all, even though you did think to include "As I said earlier" every time you name checked your sprityo suspicion. This makes me think it wasn't a genuine read, that you were just parroting the thread. Whatever you found "concerning" about sprityo's behavior you did not specify. I know sprit was obviously acting strange but I can't help but feel a town Glorfindel would have thought to ask why is he acting strange instead of just trying to pass it off as concerning. I don't see you actually trying to get to the bottom of this suspicion, and I find that concerning.

How would a cop know if they have nabbed their inmate? Unless they are cop number one, I guess.
Yeah I was thinking Joker...

I don't understand sprit's decision to give up. Was it meta games? It's kind of disappointing. Just because the Joker is dead and you can win dead or alive... the town still has to actually WIN.

This is something I like about alive to win. You have to fight for it.
He didn't give up, he just wasn't trying very hard. There were signs that this is what he would flip, but not many people wanted to see it.

I'm sure there are other players who try harder because they don't have to be alive to win, so that argument doesn't make sense to me personally.

If you're a logical player and Glorfindel is a gut player, I'm some sort of turnipy hybrid of the two. I like to play a logical game but at the end of the day I go with my gut. Maybe you see the merits in your case and are convinced by it, but my gut is telling me SVS isn't bad.

I do have to admit that the "I won an award for bussing argument" is weird. How long ago did SVS win that award, years and years ago? I know she's been on the record here at TS saying she prefers not to bus teammates and had long arguments with MP about it when they bussed each other in WWE. I do think SVS would have bussed sabie rather than defended her in that moment, but it's still a WIFOM-y argument to make. It reminds me of when SVS was on the team that tried to kill splintsy in World Reborn, and when called out SVS was like "I would not be so stupid as to have killed splints" or something to that effect.

Glad to see discussion had continued in my absence, strong points being made all around. I'm drunk at a wedding reception and according to a message I received Poison Ivy wants me to only post 5 times today but I'm pretty sure someone's just fucking with me.

Sorsha what are your thoughts on the game?

But it's saying things like "obvious townie" that make me think I'm right about you. It comes across as dramatic. What makes you an obvious townie?
