Re: Interrogation Room
1) My favorite kind of metal? Probably either prog or power metal. Dream Theater and Iron Maiden are my two favorite metal bands, but there aren't that many others I like. Tool I enjoy from time-to-time. Megadeth is in the same boat, and Metallica to a lesser extent.Roxy wrote:Hey Metalmarsh
1) What is your favorite kind of metal? (element)
2) Metal band? Do you prefer Death Metal? Who do you consider to be the first "Metal" band?
3) Do you like Pink Floyd's "Meddle"?
4) Would you like to be an Alchemist?
5) What is your favorite Marsh? Marsh area?
6) Do you think Marsha was a good big sister to Jan and Cindy?
7) Do you like Marshmallow S'Mores?
8) Do you like the song Heard it in a Love Song by The Marshall Tucker Band?
Happy Sunny Sunday MM!
2) My belief for bands like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and Rush is that they are precursors to heavy metal, and though they were heavy themselves, they are just some good hard rock. I'd go with Black Sabbath. They were kinda borderline, but they set the stage more than any of the others I mentioned. I definitely do prefer hard rock over heavy metal.
3) Yes, I absolutely love Meddle, from front to back (except perhaps Seamus, I don't find that song to be anything special). One of These Days is one of my favorite instrumentals of all time, and Echoes is magnificent, as you might agree. Meddle was actually the first vinyl I ever bought, though I did end up giving it to a friend since I already had it on CD. Also, what's your favorite Floyd album?
4) I wouldn't have the desire to be an alchemist, but if I was, I'm sure I would enjoy it. It sounds like something up my alley.
5) My last name is actually Marsh, so that's where that comes into play.
6) I haven't watched Brady Bunch since I was a kid, but since Jan and Cindy didn't die, I'm sure Marsha did just fine.
7) YES!!! Love 'em!
8) I'm not familiar with that song, but it doesn't sound like something I'd listen to often. It is better than country of today that I'm familiar with though.

2. What do you do to relieve stress?
3. Do you have a person that you call 'your best friend'?
4. What happens to us after we die?
5. What means of transportation do you prefer?
2) I actually don't really stress about things often. I guess my response would be to chill out with music that's relaxing. Probably instrumental, and something in the jazz family.
3) No, I do have many good friends, but not one close enough that I'd call a best friend.
4) My hope is that my body is cremated and released into the wind, but most people are buried in a large field littered with ornate stones and freshly picked flowers. As far as my soul is concerned, I have not come up with an answer yet. I've taken some religion classes in my current college out of interest and comparison (I was formerly raised a Catholic), but there are so many things that could happen based on what you believe. If I come up with an answer, I'll let you know.

5) Cadbury eggs
6) Charleston chew
7) regular chocolate
8) Everything else
Do you like other licorice?
How do you feel about Marshmallow?
Do jelly beans have rankings? I adore jelly belly jelly beans. I also really like several others.
Do you have favorites? What are they?
Why does the Charlston Chew get such a high rank in your candy spectrum? (fwiw - I TOTALLY get the reeces rank. )
have you ever had made from scratch Carmel?
Is that why you hate carmel creams?
I love marshmallows (hence my enjoyment of peeps). I'll eat them plain, I'll have them on s'mores even when they're burnt to charcoal. Marshmallow cream frosting is also a wonderful delight.
I don't know if I could rank the specific flavors, but jelly bean flavors are (usually) wonderfully accurate to their real-life counterpart.
Charleston chews, I can't explain. Just a good combination of vanilla and chocolate with a good texture.
As for handmade caramels, my mother makes homemade golden caramels that are probably the most amazing candy I've had. Caramel cremes pale so much in comparison and have kind of a waxy feel in my mouth that I just don't enjoy. So yes, that is why.
What would you rate as your favorite candies? Also, I don't eat all that much candy, but that's not because I don't love it

Re: Interrogation Room
Shine on You Crazy Diamond is my favorite song of all time, and so WYWH gets the edge for me over Animals. I will agree though that they are oh so very close. As for the Wall, I believe Waters was just as crazy as ever and nothing more. I would say drugs, but I've read that Pink Floyd didn't dabble with the hard stuff (with the exception of Mr. Barrett).S~V~S wrote:Why Wish You Were Here over Animals? For me those two are so close. And do you think they were possessed, held at gunpoint, or on drugs for The Wall?
Do you like dogs or cats, or both? Do you have either? Have you ever had a pet that lived in a cage, like a sugar glider, a snake or a turtle?
In a group, do people look to you for leadership, or do people look to you for comfort? Or none of the above?
I love both cats and dogs, I've lived with dogs before, but my current roommate has a cat. I'm not sure which I would choose though. They are both great for different reasons. And no, I've never lived with a pet who lived in a cage. I don't think I could stand it, nor do I believe the animal would like it.
While not a leader in a group, I would consider myself the most level-headed person anyway. I usually don't wish to be a leader unless it's thrust upon me. As for comforting people, I'm terrible at it.

3) I'm finishing up a book by Haruki Murakami titled What I Talk About When I Talk About Running. That's the second of his I've read and I'm loving his writing.
4) I'm don't like drama, so I tend to try and stay under the radar to avoid it. I can't think of anything else off the top of my head, but I'm sure there are other topics.
5) I do not speak anything yet, but Japanese will hopefully be in my future.
6) Definitely different dialects of Native Americans, especially when it's fluent. Though I can't understand it, I think it's one of the more beautiful languages I've heard.
7) Around 3:14:00, though I ran under someone else's name and was officially DQ'd, so the time isn't official. :P
8) I love stats. I'm a huge baseball fan, mainly because the game revolves so much around numbers. I love thinking about the stats, comparing, looking at them, and almost anything related.
9) I definitely look up to my father. I grew up in Catholic schooling system (though I'm not religious myself), yet my dad is the most morally responsible person I've ever met, and he's agnostic.
10) I dunno yet on dinner. Last night was happy hour burger and fries. Tonight will definitely be some home-cooking.

My favorite band right now is probably Rush. That's usually my default answer, but my interests are all over the place.
I love almost anything related to rock, but I've also explored out a bit to others such as bluegrass and jazz. Musics I don't enjoy would include pop rap, modern R&B, country, and various extreme forms of metal.
My favorite comfort food would probably be candy. It's Easter season, and I can't help myself but to grab a box of peeps every time I go grocery shopping.
When I grow up, I'm hoping to become a math teacher/track coach/forest ranger/cafe owner/nutritionist/musician. I probably won't achieve all of that at once, but one can certainly dream.
Keep those questions coming.

Re: Interrogation Room
Hi, I live in Eugene, OR (USA) but I'm originally from Cincinnati, OHjuliets wrote:Hi MetalMarsh, I know absolutely nothing about you so I'm going to start with the basics -
Where are you (city, state, country whatever you're comfortable with)? Did you move there? If so from where?
Who convinced you to come over here from PA?
Is this your first mafia experience? If not, where else have you played?
How many games have you played now? Do you have a favorite game yet?
Who are your friends on this site, like people that you know irl? Or at least know better than others? If none, who would you like to get to know better?
What do you do when you're not mafia-ing (school, work, both, neither)? Expound as much as you like.
Ok, that should get us started. Thanks for agreeing to be in the hot seat.
I believe it was AP who was responsible for bringing me here from PA, you've gotten that part right.
I originally played mafia on a site called GoalLineBlitz, an MMORPG for American football. We played quite a bit in their forums. Then I played a bit at MafiaScum, though their style was a bit too intense and aggressive for my liking. Great players, but mean.
I've played I think 5 games here (and hosted one), but probably upwards of 50 games in my life. My favorite one here so far was most certainly the Harry Potter one.
I wouldn't say that I know anyone on this site too personally, but I'd have no qualms with getting to know some peeps better and vice versa myself. I guess we'll see which way the wind takes us.
I am a student, and a mathematics major at that. I'm also a marathoner, rock-climber, and a generally outdoorsy person. When I'm not swamped with these hobbies or work, I'm probably reading, listening to music, or possibly even trying my hand at cooking.
