Sucks that SVS got night killed when she did. After Wilgy, Marmot and SVS got removed so early we were pretty screwed and INH got busy outside the game so I was alone pretty much the whole game. I just hard lurked for like 3 day phases and kept sending in kills hoping to throw people off.
Hehe, yeah. We kinda got steamrolled this game, coupled with those couple unlucky duels early on in the game.

Talk about the other points I made. I'll give you some direct questions:

Why did you bring up LoRab when you conversed with Wilgy?

Do you think it's fair for people to suspect that you and Wilgy are both buckets of WIFOM and that his painting you as his team mate shouldn't just be discarded?

Why did you want to duel Wilgy?

Did you want to duel Scotty?

Were you trying to capitalize on me being called a baddie by the messenger town role at the start of Day 2?

Who are your suspects?

Do you prefer green beans or wax beans? Is this the interrogation room?
DrWilgy directed a comment at LoRab. I had just posted ISO-links and glanced through, so I knew LoRab hadn't posted yet.

Of course. I love using WIFOM and wouldn't dream of going a whole game without using it. :nicenod:

As I've said already, I wanted to duel him after he thoroughly licked me in a previous game.

No. I have no reason to duel Scotty, and I want to keep him around.

No. I don't think you're bad at all. That's not going to stop me from playing a game though. ;)

I don't like that Dom hasn't talked about me at all. I don't like that Russtifinko denied my offer at a duel. I have a grudge with Turnip Head. Nutella looks appeaseable but I think that's par for the course from her. There is the LoRab comment that DrWilgy made. After some thought, this is my shortlist of people.

Metalmarsh89 wrote:Counterproductive? I can understand that explanation. How would you justify it?
Is this supposed to be "can't"? The question mark after "counterproductive" suggests to me that you're not in agreement with that term being used.

If not, I don't understand the need to justify my explanation if it is understood. You supported Wilgy to earn a unique distinction and then you helped get him killed. I'm trying to discern why those two truths coexist in this game.

If so, I'd like you to tell me why you felt your actions were the appropriate actions to take.

There are obviously other possibilities, but this game is as lurker-loaded as anticipated so it could be.
I was thinking the same thing. And Epi usually accepts group PMs if I remember correctly, so even if there is one active player, they should be able to submit the kill, I would think anyway. However, we have to keep in mind all the secrets and other crap loaded into games like this. You never know what could have happened. Benefits were given out to the prefects as well as the winner of the Day 1 Duel. So....maybe one team was inactive and the other had something working against them. Not sure. But I am with you that there has to be at least some inactive baddies b/c there are so many inactives in the first place.

Also, I like your theory on MM.

Yeah I got here at literally XX:58 and had to phone vote, I didn't even look at the tally. I'm surprised I even got my votes in on time.
Checking the tally first might have prevented me from getting my votes in, it was that close. I didn't know I had received as many votes as I had when I placed mine. I kind of just had to throw my votes down without thinking, so I put 'em on the two suspects I had talked the most about on Day 1.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 1]

MovingPictures07 wrote:Hey guys. I just wanted to pop in and again apologize for my overly-emotional behavior (it's been a ridiculously stressful week and yesterday morning was doubly so, but that's no excuse), and I've since cooled down and thought this over. I was initially leaning towards staying out of this game because it's clear especially since I started my PhD that mafia games often overburden me when I'm busy and stressed (hence my reputation for emotional implosions), but I've decided to stick this out, or at least to try to once more before deciding to quit later if I feel I really cannot. I know Epi worked hard to fill this game and that replacements would be better served on the inevitable quiet few who never show up or someone who legitimately needs a replacement. But I'm going to return only under the circumstances in which I was originally intending -- only when I feel I have adequate time and I'm going to force myself away if I'm feeling stressed out.

With that said, I'll catch up later, since I still have a lot to do today. Not even sure when I'll be back.

I only have one point I want to make and that's in response to Macdougall (so if you're not Mac, don't feel free to read this unless you want to read an elaboration for why I post so often about my RL and schedule, so I'll make it green): I apologize again, Mac, for taking your comments and not counting to five and walking away before posting in response. But I wanted to say that I wasn't providing any detail of my busy schedule for slank cover, or because I think that it is alignment indicative or that I'm trying to use it in defense of myself. I'm not. I never would. I like to provide it (and am infamous for doing so, I'll admit) because I tend to be a very active player and I want people to know in advance that I may not get to them right away, I probably won't be doing in-depth analyses due to lack of time, etc., and I don't want people to think I'm hiding or anything because of lack of interest or my alignment. I specifically wanted to emphasize it this game because, despite consistently specifying it over many games especially since I've started my PhD, I've been working 10-15 hours on average every day, with the occasional all-nighter, and getting little sleep, and as I approach mid-September my workload becomes even more increasingly busier due to a flurry of badly timed major deadlines. And my wife and I are moving apartments right now. It's honestly the busiest I've ever been in my life.

So anyway, my point is that I think it's clear with anyone who's played with me over the years that, if I have time, regardless of alignment, I post. And I post a lot. And I also notoriously talk about how busy I am pretty much in every game I'm in. So if you or anyone else wants to judge me based on that, OK, but I want to make it clear that I'm not trying to defend myself with those statements; rather, merely to provide context to how often I'll be in the thread, and to warn people that I'll be inevitably taking a moderate and watered down approach this game. I brought it up specifically in the context of our conversation because I didn't think I had told you that and I didn't want you to think that I'm ignoring you or anything if I don't post for a while. If you want to judge it as alignment indicative, then I guess I can't stop you from doing so, but it's annoying and inaccurate to say the least for such statements to be judged as alignment indicative, even though I realize that technically anyone says in the course of this game at any time is fair game for analysis and suspicion.

Now, I haven't read anything since my post before this one. I probably won't for at least 24 hours, maybe even way more. Thank god the thread locks at Night. I don't really feel like I could make any semblance of an informed vote at this stage so I'm just going to abstain rather than randomize (since I really detest that), and will properly contribute whenever I feel I can, which may not be for a while. I need to actually know I can play this game in moderation. Hopefully I can stick to it because I cannot afford to spend much time here.
Thanks for sticking with it MP, you can ignore my first rainbow list if you like.

Posting it 3 hours after his penultimate "I'm done and looking for a replacement" you were looking for a reaction from him?

Can't tell if joking or just a poor sport.
...

I haven't read the whole thread, so this is news to me.

Alright MP, I'm bumping you up to peach.

Oh hey Scotty, I posted this at the beginning.

And to be fair, I probably wouldn't have contributed, even if I was around.
Ah, I missed that. Unfortunately, your input since you've been back is going exactly how you admit it would go.

Stay tuned for more...more what? Beer? Spears? Aneurysms?
What does the blue represent? Why do you suspect MP? Why anything? Why do I keep expecting you to expand upon your thoughts, knowing full well you're just gonna derp around them? Isn't that tbe definition of insanity?

You can't just post colorful words and not talk about them. Here's my rainbow list using your method:
Stalin
The Yuan Dynasty
Andy Richter
Crab People

Stay tuned for more.
More colours and names attached to them.

But mainly, I'm fishing for a reaction from MP.

Oh lord, turns out I misunderstood the whole point that person was making. And here as well, I thought you were trying to convince me to make wild guesses by giving me that proportion.

I thought they basically had said that civilians are more likely to read scum correctly than scum, which is pretty obvious and facepalmed.

I guess I should go to sleep. Image
Well there you go. Have a good rest.

That's even a bit less a proportion of civ/scum than in games I hosted. I usually stuck with 20-25%. How is that convincing?

Oh and in relation to that large ass post: *these three are elected. The two cast votes got me confused.
You have a 71% chance of being correct about a civilian read.
You have a 29% chance of being correct about a non-civilian read.

Therefore, civilian reads are more likely to be accurate.

I'm rather poor at guessing who is scum, I'd rather have some evidence first. Besides, literally nothing arose my suspicions yet. I reread everything while I'm writing this post and the only thing that made me raise an eyebrow was someone that said "civ reads tend to be more accurate than scum reads". LOL
About 71% of the roles are civilian, so the probability is there.
