This was certainly not a game with a lot of luck on the scum side; boo on us for killing baddies two times but I guess that's not completely unexpected when we didn't pick our kills the way we should have, and Golden zeroing on Soneji instantly and Sig zeroing on Glorfindel certainly created some remarkably awkward situations.
I very much enjoyed playing with you all; I mostly just hope that my next scum game here is more of a glorious rampage of death and destruction as opposed to whatever this scum game was.

Talk about bad luck though. DrWilgy and zebra were nightkilled by the other mafia team, and I was nightkilled by the guy who has a 33% chance of successfully killing his target.
I didn't get to use my role ability at all. Being Esme, I would have easily survived the first lynch against me based on the number of votes. And also, my secrets said if I was the last remaining member of my team alive, I would switch and join Count Olaf's team. Unfortunately, zebra and I were killed at the same time.

This was sig's best post in the game.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:This was probably the best all-around game I've seen from sig. He was on point, assertive, and didn't even suffer the kind of random suspicion he often seems to attract.
It was great seeing the mix of characters in this game, from long-time Syndicate veterans, to players who've been around a while but not necessarily played often, and to brand new faces from elsewhere on the Internet. I hope y'all stick around and play some more games with us.
Nacho, I still need to play a non-hydra game with you as agreed.
He unwittingly called out our entire team in a single sentence.sig wrote:@Dom be a dear and when you get the chance tell me what you think of MM, Zebra, Wilgy, and Eloh?
I'm in the process of narrowing down some mafia members and would like other peoples thoughts.

Just now leaving DW, I've got an early flight west tomorrow and not the time or energy to read.
I'm voting for Elohcin. Epignosis is civ (or I'll eat my hat), and this is still the most active I've seen her. Oh, and I want to save Epignosis.

I think you're more likely to be evil than he is. Your word is all I've been given to believe you're civilian. Your quietness doesn't mean anything to me, especially after seeing the turnout of Haiku Mafia.Golden wrote:Add to that, I have every reason to believe that the troupe know I'm a civilian, and the fairness of epis unwillingness to back off me (plus, I believe, epi believes he can get me lynched - he is circling me like a snake all game, waiting for the time to strike)

Re: A Mafia of Unfortunate Events [DAY 5]
You're buying into WIFOM?Long Con wrote:Well, as long as this one is going to take off, I do actually have an opinion that I've been holding back because I didn't want to get nightkilled. No, I'm being serious.
Epi and Elo are on a team. And that team is the Guardians, of course - they can't be Troupe because they voted Glorfyo. That's the team with VP Nero, the curser. Elo's curse was a double-whammy self-hit for the team, in that she was cursed or cursed herself to call Epi Sir (a member of the Guardians) in every post. It's kind of triple WIFOM: Elo gets cursed, Epi bears the brunt, and she calls him a role on their team. Maybe his role, I don't know if it's that extra delicious or not. My gut would say 'yes', because why not?
Knowing (and I'm going off meta here which may be eight months or so out of date) that Epi is often asked what his opinion of Elo is, and is supposedly often right, Epi's (I believe) first opinion of Elo is that she is bad. Then he allows himself to talk himself out of it because of logical reasons, and threatens suspicion on those who disagree:
This is what I believe is going on here. I just think it all fits, it all makes sense to me. This is what happens when Epi and Elo are on a team together. Nothing I have seen since I started thinking about this has made me believe it less. I do think he believes what he says about Dom and Quin, and he may be awesome and be right.Epignosis wrote:I have some suspicion of Eloh, but she's been cursed (however mildly), and I don't care for the way some here have tried to force me into staying suspicious of her when there is some evidence in her favor.
I do have reasons to think Epignosis is civilian though. Epignosis helped us lynch Glorfindel Day 2. Epignosis was the first one to say "Let's look for players on the other team." We've been unsuccessful thus far, but that's mafia I suppose.
I have less reason to believe Elohcin is civilian. She's been cheerfully following along, more than I've seen her do in a while. I don't know what that means wert her alignment, but it's different. Looking at Epignosis's read of her, it's something that developed over the course of a day phase. I doubt that info is involved, so it's a conclusion that he came to on his own, whether maliciously or sincerely.

I didn't know you feel this way, but for some reason I believe this statement.Quin wrote:Pretty sure most people know where I stand when it comes to bringing personal beef into a game as a scum strategy. I feel like it's emotional manipulation and I'll never do it intentionally. Whether you believe it or not, or want to call it WIFOM or distancing or whatever, my briefly turned-personal beef with DDL a few days ago is proof that DDL is not my teammate.Jackofhearts2005 wrote:But seriously, I just finished a Day 0 to Night 1 and only found posts that could be lie detected if Quin was partners with Snow or DDL and DFarady was feeling nice.
Stuff like "I think Snow's partner could be DDL."
Knowing Snow was not scum buddies with Quin, Quin can only be a LIE DETECTED scummer if DDL is his partner.
If DDL and Quin have been scum buddies this whole game, I will eat a walrus.

Do you think he has some relationship with Snow Dog?Elohcin wrote:FWIW, I was being genuine Day 0. At first, I thought Snow was serious about not reading his role. And then I thought, well, maybe he did, is bad, and is lying so if he is found suspicious, he can say "well, my behavior cannot be baddie behavior since I don't even know my own alignment." But then I found out (I think Day 1) that it was some kind of joke from another game and so I let it go. In fact, I think it was Sir Epi that pointed that out to me and I was a little shocked. He is usually not that nice to me in Mafia. He likes to just let me struggle. Still not sure what to think of that. He isn't one for explaining things to me.Long Con wrote:I do sympathize with that. BR and I have an agreement that we don't really pay attention to each other for the first half of the game, and that's what I tell people when they ask my opinion of her. The baddie tick I got from that is that it seemed like you were setting up Snow Dog for a lynch for a joke, that you were pushing the "Snow Dog is lying and so he's bad" angle that I think is really weak. Opportunistic, as in you saw the opportunity to push a dude's lynch and took it.Elohcin wrote:You say slight baddie tick, but you never gave a reason for it.
And as for Sir Epi, he cannot even make up his mind about it. Put yourself in my shoes when it comes to Sir. Can you imagine having everyone always listening to Black Rock when it comes to your alignment? It's just gotten old. Every game Sir and I are in together players ask him what he thinks of me and take it as truth. The only reason players are back and forth on what to believe is because Sir Epi is back and forth on me, himself.
I'm up to here rereading your posts and I don't have another baddie tick. IT may end up that I chalk this up to "getting a reaction from Eloh" and not voting you, I can't say until I'm done the reread.
