The players have more than chance to lynch baddies. But you're right, 1 hour is hardly enough time to do so. Flipping a coin to decide who get's lynched? There is definitely more chance there.

It happens. If we had lucked into finding a mafia day 1 it all would have been different. We should have stuck to the lynching Boogs scheme XD
In my honest opinion though, I understand 15 minutes is not much time to decide who to use your night action on. Now imagine having to coordinate 6 civvies and 2 baddies night actions in that same 15 minute period by yourself.

SVS suggested the idea of cycling the power roles for civs. I incorporated that idea, so if you didn't get a power the first day, you still might the second day.

Thanks for voicing your opinion though. I thought the speed of the game would make up for getting a plain role. I was wrong. So we will come up with some other ideas for next time for sure.

Flase. If SVS and Splints voted for Roxy and Rox and Epig voted for SVS, and the ranomizer picked Rox, the night phase would have started 2 civs, 1 baddie. The civs could have been protected or the baddies could have ben blocked, and even if not, the following day lynch would have been a 1 v. 1 tie, which could have gone to the civs. Unlikely, but greater than 0 by a wide margin.
I know, but being that the mafia reduced the civs numbers down to equal their own, it would be most unfortunate for the baddies to have almost certain victory snatched from them by chance, considering they played the better game up to the point. They played the game better, so they get the win. This is the reasoning I am accustomed to. I am open to change, such as no lynches for a tie, or even a no lynch option. But that would be for a later game.

I hate being a vanilla civvie :| And that whole first night we had no block/protect/check anything so really nothing to help us but our bad lynches.
This is as basic as mafia can get, though the rotating roles were an extra flavor SVS had suggested.

Normally, 7 civilians would be ideal, because you then at least get a Day 3 (assuming you don't lynch 2 baddies before that) With this setup, it is almost an equal chance of victory for either side.

With how rapid the game progressed, reading players is difficult. Often you have to resort to gut, because you're too busy reading posts and responding to do any effective scumhunting. But again, finding a good strategy to find baddies like this would work too. These are my thoughts anyway.

Fearing the worst, you all run home to dump your sweets and congregate again. Looking around, your fears were correct. juliets is no longer with you.

juliets has been killed by the baddies.

And with that, both Epignosis and Roxy strip their masks, and chase SVS and fingersplints down the street, their screams mingling with the shrieks of the ghouls and ghosts wandering about.


GAME OVER. THE BADDIES HAVE WON. ROXY AND EPIGNOSIS ARE YOUR CHAMPIONS.

Everyone was frantic that MP was missing. Some surios accusations went down, and so did various green-colored sugary sweets. But in the end, they had to eliminate someone who they thought was bad.

This time, the victim was llama. Like Made, his mask was torn off to reveal...

thellama has been lynched. He was a vanilla civilian.

Night 2 has begun. You have 15 minutes to send in your actions.

And so Made is who you decided upon. You walk up to him, tear off his mask, and...

Made has been lynched. He was a vanilla civilian.

Welcome everyone. This game will have minimal flavor to it, but lots of high-speed mafia insanity.

There are 8 of you, young and free, getting your costumes on for Halloween. You all proceed out onto the streets, hoping to fill your sacks with as many sweets as possible. Unfortunately, there are two among you who are not so innocent. These two are here to steal all your candy. Who are these people, hiding their identity under a Halloween mask?


It is Day 1. You have 60 minutes to lynch someone.

These are the rules!

General Mafia Rules

1) All standard mafia rules apply. No double targeting.
2) Do not infodump. Due to time restraints on this game, I may or may not be able to answer questions quickly and effectively, so please use your own best judgment.
3) Don't be an asshat. Asshats can and will be modkilled.
4) No really. Don't be an asshat. I don't think we'll have trouble with that this game.
5) I will be posting in this orange Halloween color. Do NOT us it.
6) No BTSC unless you are specifically granted it and provided a location by me.
7) All night actions MUST be sent to me via PM. There is a 15 minute window during the night phase, and I will be strict on this.
8) If you choose not to use your night action, please PM me saying such.
9) Please do not miss votes in this game. There will be no punishments because you should all be active for participating, but again, deadlines will be strict.
10) If you are posting offtopic, please use OT green for such purposes.
11) If you are a nonplayer, post in NP blue.
12) If you are dead, post in dead red.
13) Make sure to use sarcastic orange at appropriate times if you need to.
14) Rules are subject to change at my discretion.



Game Specific Rules/Mechanics

1) This is a simple mafia game run in the style of the Syndicate. There are no secrets.
2) This game will start at 6:00 PM EST.
3) Day phases will last 1 hour. Night phases will last 15 minutes. Phases may be cut short if votes/actions are all in.
4) Vote changes will not be allowed in this game. You have been warned.
5) Night polls have no effect on the game, if I even bother to use them.



Other

1) Please plan ahead for your night actions. I'd rather not get them all right at the end of the phase if I don't have to.
2) Please ask any question you have before the game begins. My hands will be pretty tied throughout this game, so I may not be able to answer questions effectively.
3) If you do have questions. Bold them and start them with (Host/MM/Newt: blah blah blah) so that I will notice them.

Lightning Mafia - Halloween Edition [Game Over]

Hello everyone, and welcome to the Syndicate's first attempt at a Lightning Mafia (yes, it's a silly name). This game will be hosted on this very site that you are all familiar with. This game has got a Halloween theme to it, because this holiday is just around the corner. This will be a simple game of mafia since speed is of the essence. 2 (maybe 3) baddies, the rest civvies, and we'll be getting down to the old school scumhunting for this game. Thanks SVS for the help to get things started, and thank you all for joining. Please take some time to read the rules below, and ask question if you have them.



Here are the roles!

Trick-or-Treaters (civilians)

1) Role blocker*
2) Protector*
3) Vanilla
4) Vanilla
5) Vanilla
6) Vanilla


*One special modification for this game. The two power roles will rotate to another player on a daily basis AFTER the night period is over and BEFORE the day period begins. If a civvie dies while he/she has one of these roles, the role dies with them. The powers will rotate randomly, but also evenly.

Bullies (baddies) - get one kill each night, have BTSC

1) Vanilla
2) Vanilla




Sidenote - As you can see, this is counting on 8 players playing. If a 9th player joins, they will be added in as an additional civ. If a 10th player joins, they will be added in as a baddie.
