Even if a vanilla civilian is lynched today, The next day's lynch would be a coinflip if there's a doctor, assuming the doctor didn't protect himself last night.

Sig was removed from this thread when I asked him to sub in though. I believe it was the only course of action I could take.

Thanks for playing Rob. You brought an intensity to the table on Day 4 that no one else seemed willing to bring. It'll make for a much more interesting endgame, regardless of the outcome.

I wonder if, in closed setups like these, if a lylo phase is not certain because of a role (such as a doctor), the Host could just imply it may or may not be lylo, but still leave the Day phase poll non-changeable, as if it would be lylo.

Even if there is no doctor, the mafia would have to kill a player tonight to end the game (and not lose someone to the lynch of course). Mafia has considered not killing a player each of the last two nights regardless of knowing if a doctor is in play. I don't think they would do that tonight, but it is possible.

One could even say that they've been clear-cutting the competition.

But yeah, mafia is killing it so far.

They needed a reminder because they keep lynching civilians.

But to be fair, there was a doctor ever since Wilgy signed up.

The problem with players who give it all as town, have to play the same as mafia, and it's a lot harder to keep up. But people expect you to. That's why I like being town more than mafia. Though my last few games are changing things a little, LOL

This is why I made a weird decision years ago~ I had a very aggressive civ game, and it was very distinctive. So I got Nked night one all the time when I was civ, and started getting lynched more when bad becasue it was hard to keep up that level when I was bad. At that point most people, when changing up their game, try to make their bad game more civ. I took the opposite tack and started consciously playing my civ game more like my bad game, and it has worked for me. I actually get suspected more when I am a civ.

Getting nightkilled ain't fun. Every time I try to be supatown, I get nightkilled.

No, you made the right call revealing Sorsha, I believe.

With Sorsha being a confirmed civilian, mafia is forced to make a choice for their nightkill with the possibility of a doctor in play. Do they kill the confirmed civ, or do they go elsewhere. I realize this makes the hypothetical doctor make a choice too, but the doctor has only two real options at this point, him/herself and the player you confirmed.

It doesn't hurt the civilians terribly if the doctor makes the wrong call (considering that the likelihood of their even being a doctor is only 50%), but it does hurt mafia if they make the wrong call, and nobody is killed. It tells everyone that there is a doctor, and it puts them behind from a numbers perspective, forcing an extra day phase.

Now of course mafia could choose to not kill, but clearly that didn't happen, and they would still put themselves behind by doing so. :P

Ugh, lol. Mac wasn't really a fan of the rule, but I reminded him that mafia can't chat during the day, so it is fair in that respect.

Considering this "reaction to lynch post" thing was something I had never seen until I played at RYM, I'm surprised that it's the RYM folks who have trouble following it.

Fwiw, one of them was in a llama game. Do you know how llama resolved it? Llama announced that Bass (the person who had replaced MP then) and A Person (who I was replacing in for) had switched roles. Then he switched our roles. Problem solved.
