Re: Death and Taxes: An Economics Mafia [DAY 7]

I think that all of us civvies had a lot of wrong suspicions, but what was great was that we really worked together as a team, and that is why we ALMOST won. I think that Gman was right I probably wouldn't have changed my mind, but my 1,2,3 suspicion list was a lot closer until I felt like Gman was just taunting me and trying to rile me up into an early vote. (since he wasn't bad probably not what he was doing after all but it's what I felt like at the time.) I also thought that maybe he had figured out my role and so he knew I was waiting to vote because mine effected those around me on the poll, and was going to use that to his advantage.

I think this game was a bit rough in the beggining, but shaped up to be a lot of fun in the end. There was some heated debate about low posting vs high posting, but I think that now that this game is over we understand each other more. When you all started the ISO's I had a hard time, because especially as a civvie I feel the need to respond to every little thing about me. I think that you guys have a better idea of how I play too (like I am a bit quieter in the beggining. I like small straight to the point posts. a bit on the emotional side. stubborn to a fault. etc) and that can help you understand more where I am coming from.

I'd also like to reiterate Golden's post about Tiny Bubbles. It was the same in the Narnia game. She was quiet but from what the hosts posted after, she used her ability pretty effectively. So while she might not be the most vocal player, I think she has a better idea about what is going on then most would expect. She is going to make a scary baddie when she finally gets that role.

Remember how I said I signed up for too many games... If I had won this one I would have ended up winning all 4 games I was in at the same time. (Pretty sure I won the jtm one because I was dead but think it was one of those dead players win too ones - I got mvp that game anyways) that would have been awesome :sigh:

If it could have played out, I was NKing vomps, trying to convince splints to use her vote manipulation the next day, stopping the lynch, killing her that night, and if that still failed using my vote manipulations the day after. This lynch was really the key.

Thank you for a very well played game, guys. You made it incredibly tough for me, I've never had to work this hard as a mafia before.

TB was my fault. I thought she was Akerlof. But the rest of the kills were in the order that I determined on the first day I was in the game. MPs flip on splints meant he had some way of getting info. So did his "TB is not adam smith" statement. Plus his dogpee mafia team that was completely off base was too good to allow him the chance to change his mind.

TH had to be akerlof, and he had to go next. DDL went because I figured if JJ could use a NK protect that's the night he would use it (I so would have preferred to lynch you DDL). Then JJ, who I would have killed three days earlier if I could have, but I just couldn't.

Unfortunately, games like this screw up my civilian game for months, because everyone stops trusting me.

Thanks for being a team, Bass and Roxy! I'm sorry it didn't last long.
That's right, there was no way you could have lost at this point, especially since Fingersplints' role would have required her to vote for herself as well as you.
Actually, it came down to me and Golden I would have voted Russ, so that I didn't get any votes. I didn't like the host options because it took away more votes for players for me but I would have used it to my advantage there. I'm not trying to argue the game shouldn't have been ended there because I definitely think it should have been, just I could have avoided a vote for myself still! I was very scared all game of getting votes by my role.
I used my vote manips this lynch though anyways and golden probably had a bunch. He probably would have revisited his kill Vomps plan after I got incredibly annoying towards him (despite Vomps being my number 2 I would definitely have turned on Golden after that result)

I think he isn't posting much but I get the impression he is at least trying and knows what is going on. More then I usually feel in a game from him. I think sometimes he just follows friends votes and I sometimes get the impression he isn't reading the thread. I don't think I have ever been at (assumed) end game with him like this, so I don't know if he usually gets more focused as the players dwindle. A big part of me believes this is the case. A smaller and more paranoid parts of me wonders if the difference is that this is his bad game and that is what I am not used to seeing as well.

I sound panicky? lol You sound desperate.

Since I think you are bad, then it seems like you could probably have answered you first question yourself. I think that your teamates told you. Even back in the day though when you played, saying something was interesting didn't scare the bejuses out of anyone. Interesting is a wishy washy comment. It gives no opinion either way. So regardless of if you knew or did not know it could have had a negative connotation now, my point is actually that your comment was a major over exageration.

The shame in serving up heaps of WIFOM is that that amount of wifom serves to convince no one. I do not believe that you really believe that is helpful to the civvie cause.

To your last one. I agree that if you were bad you would stick out like a sore thumb at this point. ;)

I didn't mean anything bad by it, just pointing out I pointed it out too so you know that I agree it's his focus on bass. I know this is WIFOMY, but just know for after game and for your own knowledge I would not kill MM night 1. In Omertà mafia one of the first things I said to my team was I did not want us going after you or MM right away. I know feeling bad for players killed a lot early or protective of new players isn't always the best way to play, but I like for people to enjoy the game more then I like to win. MM would have to be going after me like crazy for me to have even considered killing him day 1 this game

Golden I brought up that post of MM when I evaluated kills the last night.

Gman in your post you quote JJJ and say this kind of post scares baddies. I really don't see how saying you are making interesting would scare the "bejusus" out of any baddie but you. I have seen "interesting" more often lately used as a negative in mafia game. Some players even really hate the use of that word (I think SVS comes to mind)

Next your main point is very WIFOMY. Why would you do this 6 years after a break. Idk why would you call a lot of attention to yourself by pretending to be cursed? Your play this game that we can see makes it obvious you would try different things after being away for a while. Second I don't think it's really "schooling our asses" because you have been under scrutiny the whole game and are about to get lynched likely.

I'm not sure how not being bad in that long excuses you from being bad this game.

I don't think it's fair to say I conveniently waited until late to vote on Day 6 and 7. I usually vote late unless agitated into voting early. And it's not as if either day my vote was not known well before. It would be kind of suspicious if I was waffling before that IMO but it was obvious where I was going. I don't think it is suspicious to want to allow no room for vote manipulation when that is what the baddies need at this point. Well if you guys had the days to decide it seems a pretty similar set up then. Days for competiting. Nights for judging.

It was just my guess that Nash was deciding. Since you guys had a poll it could be that the posting one was decided by a third party.

If DDL was Nash, what would have caused him to miss the first few nights? That seems out of character from what I have seen from him this game to just miss a night action like that.

I am not trying to use past games against you. YOU brought up your past games. Not me. I was wrong that you were bad in Gameshow, but my other 'facts' that I was 'trying to use against you' are in fact right because we were talking about different games.

You presented two situations where you were emotional to compare to your behavior now, only you didn't mention you were bad in one of those games. Although I was wrong and it wasn't Gameshow you were bad in, this statement is true. I think it's sketchy that you were trying to make 'emotional you' seem like typical civvie play by omitting the fact that you were bad - and you apparently didn't even think I had access to that that game so no one would have known you were bad in that game.

Re: Death and Taxes: An Economics Mafia [DAY 7]

I don't know if I feel better or not that Gman pointed that game out before I found it. On one hand he knew he had a past experience where he was bad and played kind of emotionally so he would know it would be better off to be upfront about it. He didn't actually say he was bad then though and he wouldn't know I would take the time to dig up that old game.

I can speak to his hitchhikers game, because I did play that one. Now that he mentions it I do remember his wifes car accident, but I do not remember any tirades from him. HOWEVER he was lynched after he had pushed a button and reset everyones roles. My memory of that game was that I had been a civvie all game and been under enough scrutiny, only to finally get rid of it and have my role reset. I then became bad and on a team with someone I didn't particularly get along with and when I was the last baddie left I ended up killing myself to end the game. XD So yea... don't remember him blowing up at that point and the site is no longer. And I could have been wrong about him being the button pusher even. Maybe that happened after he died. Regardless I definitely was that last baddie left that caused him to blow up, but I was having my own side drama. I don't think that was a lot of people's best game. I did see to the civvies winning though :bighug:

Well I answered this question, but apparently I must have skimmed one or two of the pics because I didn't see the one where Gman discussed his last STV performance. I actually had just stumbled on that game myself and was going to reply with this when I noticed his post. Going to post it anyways becuase I have spent a while reading that now and don't want my time to have been wasted:::::

I don't recall him ever playing emotionally before. I remembered him as having long posts but being more analytical. Problem is that site is no longer so I can't even go back and look at those games. I've actually gone back to reading G-man on another site we both have played at (Golden too but we played there after Gmans time). Another problem with this game I happened to read is that while he is he is defensive and seems to be playing more emotionally in this old game and is in fact later revealed to be bad (I actually can't even remember having ever seen his baddie game before) he also says he won't be returning to said site while being lynched, so that could have a factor on his posting that game.
