Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 2]

I've been neglecting mafia all weekend. Apologies. I believe I've caught up somewhat.

I believe I will vote Lorab. I don't really buy the case against Eloh by her, and her reaction to Epi pointing out the flaws in her argument stuck out to me. I don't play with her much, but she does seem to be reacting to Epi rather vehemently. I've seen it go both ways, but most of the time it's a cornered baddie in my experience. (And if it's true Civvie frustration, I hope you don't leave, Lorab! We're not mean - just accusatory, like the game is meant to be played :hugs: )

Long Con wrote:You must think Epig's game is pretty transparent and easy to figure out if you can say you think he's not bad in the middle of Day One. I've always found him to be the type of player who enjoys having a few layers of obfuscation in the things he does, so as to intentionally be hard to read.

Do you have a good history of correct Day One reads on Epig? I'm just interested to know how you came to that conclusion about him, and why you think it's right.
I applaud your excellent vocabulary, sir. And I am in agreement with this notion - Epi even prides himself on not having a "style," except that his style is avant-garde. Unpredictable. Or at least fucking hard to read Day 1. And 2. And several days after. So I wonder where this trust comes from, too. I'm not saying I think he's bad at this point - I'm saying, like you seem to be saying, that he's not necessarily GOOD, either. I would also like to know why others are so keen to trust him so early.

Also, RIP SVS :( You are dying too early lately and I do so enjoy playing with you!

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Night 1]

Woo awesome result! Sorry you got lynched Day 1 again Made, but yay for getting a baddie!

I was gonna bid, but good point about being a NK target...perhaps not, then. And it's way too early to determine who's "trustworthy," if there's such a thing as "trustworthy" in mafia.

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 1]

I have no doubt that many will be able to keep up with this crazy scheme of no "esses" (weird spelling it out). However, I was much more amused by the dollar signs, and am even more amused by the prospect of using other money-related symbols to represent other letters (Mongoose, you've opened a can of worms there and I really hope someone bites for my amusement :P)

As for voting, I considered voting for someone who suggested not sending nightly PM's by Civs, but I thought about it and that suggestion of course could go either way. While I trust absolutely NO ONE in mafia except myself (which makes me a helluva less inclined to take that suggestion, since I doubt all Civs would participate or even tell the truth about their participation in such a scheme), I'll give the benefit of the doubt this time around and assume those suggesting this prospect aren't bad. (Also, keys, I didn't mean to come off as attacking you - you were not the only proponent of this scheme, and I was really referring to the idea as a whole. I certainly didn't feel forced to do so, but I felt the need to express my adamant dislike of the idea, as it is Evil Capitalist Monopoly we're playing, not Socialist Happy Fun Sharing Time. No harm taken? )

Um, so again as for voting, even though the numbers are off, either Made has never played Monopoly, doesn't count properties properly, and/or he's just made a nasty slip. As day 1 doesn't have much to go on, that's a good amount for me and I'll also be voting Made.

I find it rather amusing, mostly because I know it's gotta be a pain in the ass to do it every time.

Excuse me. A$$.

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 1]

Ah! FINALLY! Sorry for being absent - catching up!

I see discussion of whether or not Civs should find other Civs and form their groups, and the entire time I'm shouting at my computer (yes, alone, in my apartment, with the cat staring at me like I'm crazy) "BUT THIS IS CAPITALISM AND MONOPOLY what are you doing telling us not to search??" So, as others have said, I am definitely not inclined to not complete my nightly search. It would really seem to take half the fun out of the mechanics of this game that I'm desperately trying to understand (but I think I have it. We'll see).

Oh that note, I have no idea who to vote for. But I thought I'd check in :D

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 0]

Hello, good people! I will do my best to keep up with this game better than DW (especially since it definitely seems to take a lot more strategy). I am epically bad at Monopoly (I always spent all my damned money on everything and had nothing to buy houses/hotels with in the end), but maybe I'll be better via mafia
