In every game until this one I've played either an egotistical civ started one and caused a mislynch or the mafia floods the thread with chaos and emotion causing people to focus away from their teammate. For example, in a recent game I was pegged as mafia from day 1 but, myself and one of my teammates were able to CFD and stop me from getting lynched for two additionally phases. This was done by painting a lurker to be scummy and then posting the same thing over and over until people switched. So that is what I feared was happening with yesterdays lynch.

While the "Wow why Fuzz this makes no sense" is the obvious thing people will take from this post, don't overlook that sig names five people- with thirty-three minutes in the lynch to go. We used to call that "throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks" back in the day. In addition, sig starts "agreeing" with llama about DDL.

sig, do you still agree with thellama73 about DDL? Why or why not?

I've still got a slight scum read on DDL mainly for Llama's points.I also didn't like his reasoning for switching wagons. I did name multiply people yes with good reasoning imo. I saw yesterday as an attempt to save Ika, Golden seemed scummy. I had already said one of the leading wagons was mafia that would have been Ika or you. Wilgy for reasons stated earlier. What is wrong with making multiply reads? I wasn't trying to redirect the CFD
sig wrote:I also find it very odd Golden doesn't want to lynch Ike a new player but suggested a CFD onto Serge another new player?
This isn't a big deal, but ika isn't a new player, and sig should know that.

This game was played eight months ago I didn't recall playing with Ika. This seems like a desperate attempt to try and refocus the discussion onto me.

This post oozes with desperation and fear-mongering. I wish I could see what the vote tallies looked like at the time of this post. I don't understand sig's thought process, but if sig is bad, I would argue that agleaminranks is good, because sig would know Fuzz wouldn't flip civilian.

Can you explain this I don't understand? I said if Fuzz flips civ then Gleam would be wagoned tomorrow and would the be civ. My thought process was simply. We had so many people vote Gleam for no good reason, his wagon exploded. Then it lost all its votes and was replaced by Fuzz. Could you explain your theory about Gleam being good if I'm bad?

I'm not going to go through all of sig's posts that are all railing against the wave of votes that came in out of nowhere for Fuzz. Here's my question: Is there a precedent for sig urging desperately against someone's lynch in the early stage of a game?

Sometimes I will, I recently did this more or less in Llama's game and it got me lynched. II think it has happened a few times, the reason I was so vocal this game was because I believed we where being redirected and pushed by the mafia.

I'm not making a desperate attempt to refocus the discussion onto you. "Refocusing" assumes that the focus has gone away from you. It hasn't. You have two votes out of the gate. You desperately attempted to refocus discussion away from Fuzz. That is why you are the focus now.

My reasoning about gleam being good hinges on you being bad. If you are bad, I would argue that gleam is good. If you are a cop, then you knew Fuzz would not show up good, and you used gleam as a reason people shouldn't vote Fuzz. It's convoluted and based on assumptions about what people would do, which sounds like you were clutching at straws.

I'm pushing common sense. Sig IS bad. There is just no doubt at all about that. He is 100% a cop. He made it incredibly, blatantly obvious during the cfd. I have no sympathy and no compunction in taking people down who are bad, and for all the talk of 'being careful', in the case of sig I just don't need to be careful. He's bad. It doesn't need any great analysis to demonstrate. Just read his posts and see his vote around end of day.

PS - if I was bad setting up a run of easy lynches this early in the game, it be guaranteed to backfire on me. Heck, it would probably backfire on me if I was wrong even once, especially given the amount of suspicion I've taken.

You'll never see mafia golden play like I'm playing this game. This is me in full supatown mode. I'm not sure I've been able to do this in years, but boy is it fun..

I'm not bad, I've never ever seen a CFD succeed, usually they are done by mafia to save teammates. I am town and was arguing against what I saw as a bad lynch. I'd had throughout the day expressed displeasure at the gleam wagon which just appeared imo with weak reasoning.

I also agree with Silver about her point on Golden. I do still believe he is mafia, however I'm less confident on Epi being scum.

Those on the Fuzz lynch look good but bussing is a thing that happens and it doesn't necessarily mean everyone on that wagon was town.

I've seen two scum wagons pop up like that together before in a game so I'm not going to assume the counterwagon to Fuzz was on town.

Anytime I've made assumptions like this before-those voting scum are town, those opposed to a scum lynch are their partners, or a counterwagon to scum must be town-I've been wrong in all situations at times. I've also been right before in those situations but I'd rather look at behavior overall to determine alignment rather than just wagon placement or behavior around a scum lynch or counterwagons-etc.
Meh'll go with my gut, though.

LC's vote doesn't strike me as ingenuine. DDL's for Fuzz, does. Enrique's original vote for Fuzz, that he suddenly backed off, feels like a distance vote gone wrong. Sig's entire behaviour around the lynch feels bad in every way, sloonei pointed some of it out.

I agree with you in principle. My opinion on who is bad and who is good lies not in who ended up voting where, but how they expressed themselves in the thread.
I like this post, I find myself agreeing with most of it.

You don't seem as aggressive as usual. It's disconcerting.
People have been saying that about me for the past several months.
I would like to see some evidence for this. What recent mafia game did another player accuse you of being less aggressive?

Linki: Sloonei, I don't think you can use Rock and Bullwinkle as a reference point since it's still an ongoing game.
I really don't want to trudge through old games to find specific posts, but it's true.

There are multiple reasons I am not as aggressive as I was last year. In terms of time, I've been hosting for six months. I also have a new profitable hobby in fantasy NBA, which takes a great deal of time and research to stay profitable.

In terms of Mafia, though, I started trying to dial back as far back as Death Note, when I was almost certain FZ. was bad and would not relent in hunting her down. It was a terrible blow when I realized how much time and effort I wasted contributing to my own loss. That made me begin to reevaluate my approach.

One big thing for me recently was Lost Again, in which I couldn't imagine Bullzeye being bad and argued against his lynch. S~V~S successfully got him lynched and won us the game. If I had my way, we would have Lost. Again.

Another major reason I'll just mention, without going into it, is that our site is becoming too confrontational for some people, and I'm trying to make a conscious effort to avoid contributing to that. I know I'm not the only one.

If I get lynched because I'm not being aggressive, oh well.
I was wondering why you were getting votes then I read this post. Even with you saying you are trying to be less aggressive I still expect something else other then this.

Re: [DAY 2] Turf Wars: Battle of the Hosts

The point of that post was, I can barely tell you two apart. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Yes, I see that but I want to see more from you in game than just that. Buddying is when you are being affectionate and by doing so, making me subconsciously look elsewhere for suspicious activity, instead of looking right at you.
Are you distancing? This looks like distancing.
NO

I've got a slight mafia gut read on Wilgy.

Also I find it odd how quite Zebra/LC seem to be this game.
I agree with this. I am mostly caught up and I really don't understand how Gleam has so many votes so early in the day. I understand votes are changeable but with this level it's making a statement and I don't understand the case.

I am mostly caught up. I'm going to put a vote om Turnip Head for now. I don't have a strong suspicion for anyone at the moment but I don't like a Turnip that's forgettable.

What you doing there?
My girlfriend is a real authentic Canadian lady, and I'm visiting her for her birthday this week. She has been trying to drag me up there for a long time despite my very silly fear of heights. Yesterday that finally happened. I've had time to get caught up on everything this morning because, as an authentic lady, she spends over an hour getting herself ready in the morning.
Well welcome to Canada. You're near my neck of the woods.

Or this we can discuss this.

I can't control oink what the don does, but if I can hinder what the cops do I would like to.

An alternative I thought of, we could all vote everyone just one by one activating both the traitors right away and dispose of that hindrance. I don't know how much the hosts would like that though. I don't think that I'd like to see a role design like that go to waste if I were the hosts.

That little pink part you see there. I don't maybe fully understand. I read the Traitor and I get that but do you mean hiding the Don within the votes therefore protecting him from the cops?
Don doesn't want to activate traitor yes? meaning they won't vote very much yes? we shouldn't allow the cops to watch who's voting alot and who's voting alittle and pick between them.

Also, if the traitor does activate, he will know who the opposing don is, making potential easy killing for the rival teams here. I say in order to weaken potential traitors we work together and at least try to assign two to a vote. This is not always possible I understand, but I think it's best we all fully understand how much voting affects our teams in this game.

Alright I see. We need everyone on board for this, well before the lynch is up.

Refer to the Gameplay post point #4 as follows:
MovingPictures07 wrote:4. All votes must be cast in the poll to count. It is considered standard and good form to post at the time of your vote and indicate your vote with bold/underline. Your hosts would very much appreciate that you do this, so please do so, but it is not necessary for your vote to count.

Hope that answers your question. We would really appreciate it if you all bold/underline all votes, or at least post your votes, but we're not requiring it for tally purposes.
and read the host posts... on it!
