The first use of the word on this site goes to SVS (under a sock name) in Grimm's Fairy Tale Mafia.
I first heard it from Comfortably Numb who played with us for a while at all three sites Iirc he was a Dutch man maybe in his 40s. You must recall Comfy?
Yes, I remember Comfy, more from a game I hosted with LT at RM, I dont think I played much with him

I just looked over at RM and the word did not come up, in the search, so this is the first place where I first saw it
my curiosity is been satisfied

So funny cause I also search the post here, and the user name came as Ricochet 2, (but I missed reading the 2)
so I thought it was from Ricochet, with who I think this was the first time we played together, so I thought well the origin is probably from another site then
but now is more of a mistery then, but Im too lazy to go to RM to see if it was used there also

MovingPictures07 wrote:Hey Rox, I have a few more questions for you, whenever you get a chance. :)

1) You seemed intent to really baddie hunt going into this phase and I feel like you've been one of the players delivering on this promise, but I'm curious to know even more about what you're thinking. Who are your top 5 (or a similar number, if that's inconvenient) suspects for mafia recruiters/recruitees at this time and why?
2) What are your current thoughts on BWT? How heavily or slightly do you suspect him at this time and why?
3) What are your current thoughts on Boomslang? Have you stated any? If so, I apologize, but I cannot recall yours off hand.
I'd like to ask unfurl the same first three questions.
1)I dont think Im so hard in the baddie hunting, Im trying to figure out who is bad, but the word hard is a stretch
I already mentioned you MP and BWT in the list that I dont trust, aapje is somewhere as he said he does not like low posters but he has promised to start hunting baddies, so Im curious about him, i said i want to hear from reywas I said that already, not ready to make a judgement, and Sorsha, I explained below more about it, she does not seem to concern about getting votes too, dont know if it is because she is not around? or what?

2)hard to put a number, but see above I dont trust him, i suspected him because he was very quick to join you in the lets go after the low posters

3) boomslang, Im not familiar with him, I said it before was someone trying to save him by votting Golden? Im leaning he was more a scapegoat
(haha spacegoat , old times name, some may remember it!)

Wilgy's eyes widen with horror. His heart begins to ache and his chest tightens. He finds it hard to say, but can finally let out a soft voice as he turns to face everyone.
Unfurl... How did you come to the conclusion... That Sorsha "did knew" that Golden didn't kill Epi? Sorsha even said she wasn't confident in Golden...
Sorsha was very intersting in the whole who frame Golden and wanted to hear who set him up, from others, not from her mouth
like she ask the questions but does not give her opinion, so maybe wanting to see who will jump on that first
Is a theory, not a conclusion
Sorsha wrote:I see that golden is heading out and might not be back much but I have a question or two. Anyone else can weigh in on the answer as well. I have been away from mafia for a while and don't know/can't remember all the player dynamics.

First of all I'm of the mind that golden is not on the team that killed epi night one. I know golden still claims responsibility like that team is going to do his bidding for him but I'd think their motive was more to frame him. Anyone in particular come to mind as one who would do that?

My thoughts on the matter is whoever is really hounding golden in the thread did it. But is it a silly question to ask who would set golden up?

I dont trust MP or bwt, I think you know that
I think aapje has dissapear from the map, so I think thats weird, even if he was not trying to hunt baddies he was participating with questions

I dont know if the Golden vs Boomsland, can give us some clues, like where people trying to save Boomslang by votting Golden, or is Boomslang a neutral and he just happend for people to place votes too?

Also rey voted for himself, but before the thread was lock, he changed his vote to Golden making it a tie, something to consider
Good stuff unfurl!
I personally feel boomslang is yet a Neutral. I think JJJ made his points - sure - but imo he is just going for another easy lynch. I also felt JJJ and MP's back and forth when MP stated he was trying to prove a point by acting insane and providing cover for others to follow his vote. And then later say - yeah I didn't mean it - it was me proving my point.

Your point on rey is noted and I will put him on my to read list.

What do you think of JJJ and Nutella?
I meant to add that JJJ and MP's convo felt fake.
I dont know JJJ, but he seems to be a talkative player, like he tends to comment about every little single thing is been said, i dont know if thats usual for him, but for example I do have in my mind he was quick to said few things about me early on and later on too, but he never went so far as to vote for me

Nutella, I have on mind, she did said early on that she thought I was being normal, like I think a baddie will probably be quiet and be more like who care let them put suspicious on her as long is not on them

I said I was gonna keep open mind about you, but it does not mean I trust you, Gaining my trust is something someone ever harldy able to do
Maybe is just a clash of style, but I think you are a very agrresive player and you like to corner people so at the end they end up looking suspicios and then if they turn out they were neutral, you can wash the blood of your hand, hey they were acting certain way, is not your fault, example bass lynch, and if you are able to lynch me then I will another players that you will go, hey she was acting weird is her fault

I do want to hear what rey has to said first, why he changed his vote toward golden right before the thread was lock?
Thanks for the response

I'm on phone while waiting to get my Texas vehicle tags and such

Where did you get that impression about me that I skirt responsibility for my vote and blame the victim? I always am forthright in taking responsibility for my votes, so I find your accusation to be strange. If you're referring to Bass, I was obviously wrong about him being mafia, and have never claimed it was his fault that I voted for him. I did explain my suspicion clearly and why he received my vote and why I wasn't particularly heartbroken over his death, but I never once claimed to shirk responsibility for my vote.

This sounds like you are explaining thats the way he was playing, so to me is like washing the blood, cause you had your reasons

MovingPictures07 wrote:I'm not saying RIP to Bass, and, at the expense of making enemies further, I'll echo nutella's thoughts a bit and say that I'm not that sad about Bass's death either. It would have been ideal to nab a mafia-aligned recruiter or recruited, naturally, but an unrecruited Bass is still at least a somewhat favorable result. That said, I'll dearly miss him on a personal level, as always.
MovingPictures07 wrote:
I'm not alleging that I can read into Bass's brain and see what he was thinking as he played the game, so I really don't know if he was playing a bad or chaos-aligned game. That was the impression I received from his behavior, and the fact that he really didn't seem to care who received attention as long as it wasn't him.

From what I recall you barely committed to the Golden debacle so that's why I named you off the top of my head. I can ISO you later to confirm if you want.

Why on earth would you want golden gone? That's a ridiculous question since you could ask that of anyone. His interests might not have aligned with yours perhaps?
You can question me, when did I said people should trust me and dont ask me anything?

Roxy wrote:I hope people today will act more reasonable. For me yesterdays lynch was rather disturbing and I do not understand some of the way over the top antics that are being employed during this game. It is distracting and for me very unhelpful.

I want to hunt baddies - there have been recruits and there are recruiters. I am done hearing about how Neutrals can be bad. I am sorry but Neutrals are Neutrals. How can you be a bad Neutral? Makes no sense.

If you would like to discuss possible recruiters/recruitees then quote this and list your top two suspects that you feel fit the bill.

Yes, we've had a lot of back-and-forth. But my vote was merely a placeholder in case the thread got locked (before I realized the thread can only be locked for a certain period of time, and not an entire day period).

What is it that I've said that made you not change your mind on me? Or was it more based off the fact that I voted for you again?
It was more it the fact that you voted for me again, and the reasons behind it. that you keep saying things I did not say, I dont understand that even if you are neutral, why you would try to make it like I said other things, like I felt you are trying to twist things too

You are right to say to llama that your game is usually full of contradictions. It is just your style especially in the early stages of a game.
One thing that does seem to be missing is your paranoic attitude and the questions that usually come about when you are in that "zone". I agree about Teeth but apparently Imma have to get out of lazy mode and pull quotes to get others to see what I saw. I really feel like you are Neutral atm.
Roxy :hugs:
I have not reached the paranoic state yet, and I have not hit the zone, cause is just really hard to keep up with everything
I do feel there are lot back in forth, and I do think with lynches result will help down the road to narrow things
I also think there are so many roles and variables that can switch and manipulate things, that I feel lost
According to how much I make it further, then I think I will find a little bit of light in the road

I was fine with a lot of your response to Daisy except for this. So we shouldn't judge anyone based on what they say???
Let me see if I can be clearer
of course in a game people are judge based in what they said and their actions
Im still trying to get the hang ouf ot it, and she was saying that I was saying weird things, fyi, I always say weird things, or at least there is usually someone unfamiliar with me that vote for me, for me saying weird things, I blame my weird sense of humour, to me it sounded more like she suspected me because she thought I was being snarky and that was not my intention, so my response is dont judge me just based in the weird things (which is relative to each player to)

but I can never understand what drives someone to vote for themself out of it :shrug2:
I prefer to be modkilled if Im not having fun, but votting for myself I dont recall ever done it
There are lots of things in play. If by the time I am heading off to get on a plane, and for whatever reason people have decided not to lynch me, I will switch my vote to someone I legitimately suspect. I made that vote so that people know I'm relaxed, but also because I cannot really fight back today anyway, so I could see myself going down and not being able to do anything about it.

Right now, I feel as though being lynched will take the monkey off my back. I want to be clear though, I'm still playing the game hard. If I get lynched, I will fight for a rez. I want in on this game. I just want to get all the current suspicion out of the way so that if I was to achieve a rezz, people would know when I came back that I wasn't bad.

People are beginning to see some of the suspicion on me for what it is - like llama realising how ludicrous DH's apparent scaredness is etc, which is good. My death would also aid people in taking a good hard look at those who have pushed my lynch so hard and examining whether their motivations are true.
You tend to dizzy me out, for how much you talk, and I think you know me enough, that I dont say it in a meaner way
I tend to have more of a crazy theory about you, if you are still alive in a game, and is higher from day 5, and no ones has try to nk you and you have not been lynched, then you probably bad :p you tend to be more slick as abaddie imho, and you are able to lead lynches in baddies if you are good, thats ort of my parameter when it comes down to you, but it this set up, dont know how is gonna go, need to think about it probably

Like I said, I will likely start hunting some baddies after the weekend, or maybe on Friday if I have time then, the reason being I will probably not have the time tomorrow or during the weekend. If I were a civvie I wouldn't be hunting baddies at this point. At least not publicly. I'd rather not have a massive target on my back.

Yeah, nothing I ever do indicates whether I'm good or bad either. Don't analyze anything I say, because you will find nothing and it's all meaningless.

1. I will keep this in mind about you regarding contradictions. I have limited knowledge of your game play,we've only played a handful of games together I believe. I will freely admit to not feeling like I read you well for this reason.

2. You keep going on about how you are just you, it's how you play but then you turn around with snarky jokes about other people's suspicions. Well, I play the way I play. Making fun of the fact I find contradictions suspect doesn't make me feel good about you. In fact it grates me really wrong and kind of pisses me off. Make fun all you want, most people do find them suspicious.

I'm leaving my vote where it is for now, but I'm open to hearing input from people who have played more with unfurl than I have. I would prefer to get a baddie than a neutral personally. They aren't bad lynches but they aren't good ones either.
1. ok fair enough

2. I did not think I was being snarky, maybe we have different sense of humour, if people think I was snarky then sorry, that was not my intention, cause in previous games before a lot people think Im bad cause Im too nice, so I guess is relative to what people consider snarky :shrug2:

Several people already gave their 2 cents on how they feel about me, since day1, I dont know if you did not noticed it, or you want more from them, I guess thats up those players to speak up

I know you said bye, not RIP. Where did you think I thought you said that? I thought I read through your posts fairly well.

How am I trying to discourage you from playing here? I just happen to think you've said a lot without saying much that adds to the content so far. It seems to me like you're taking my comments way too personally. It's a game, ya'll.

I went ahead and voted for you because I couldn't wait any longer for you to give your response. Otherwise you might have convinced me to look elsewhere. But you didn't and so it is what it is now.

Also, your comment about how the most engaging people are the only ones who are going to get lynched and/or killed? Are you trying to be intentionally divisive? :evileye:
seriously you said says rip etc.... you said I said it, I dont even know why it was important for you to mention it, but still proves that you dont even know what you wrote

also I did not meant hard core players are going to be lynched, Im saying low poster will be lynched because the feel around is, they are not contributed so lets lynch them, but the same time a double standart of look at me Im contributed so much to the game, that the best plan is to go after low poster

I dont know if at this poing is an english issue, that people dont understand what Im saying tbqh

Maybe people think is an excuse when I say I dont have a lot time to be reading to every single word, Im a slow reader and Im skimming a lot of the wall of text, maybe I should had not signep to the game, that will had been the wises idea when I know my schedule is not so free, so my fault for wanting to play

I wanted to get answers/reactions from you, to decide if to change my vote from you, instead you asking me why I voted for you and go, and are using the same words MP said about be Day 1

aparently you are a copy cat of MP cause day 1 you also agreed with him about votting for a low poster
my vote is staying in you, cause you are quick to agree about low posters but you are pretty much just copying MP

About the messages posted from The Speaker of Serenity and the Keeper of Ravens
The issue that I see with roles that can post messages on the thread, is that we dont know the identity or the intentions behind it?
From probabilities is more likely early on that player is civvie-neutral, but later on it can become an old fashion witchunt
It can become very handy to help to figure out things if they are receiving extra-knowledge but also good to keep an open mind
