A very silly television show that I am inexplicably obsessed with.

Re: Random Questions Game

Yes, I'd do A LOT of things for a million dollars. In this case, I'd just tell everyone it was pronounced "Rosalind" or "Orlando" or some other awesome name.

The OED might disagree with you about the first part of your question, but I definitely didn't know about the second. That's neat!

Does it really matter in the grand scheme of things who won the Super Bowl?
Nope, not a whit! But only doing/enjoying things that matter in the Grand Scheme of Things would lead to a pretty crippling existence for most folks, methinks....

Is there really a Grand Scheme of Things?

Can you think of a positive thing to say about a musician you truly dislike?
Taylor Swift understands her market in an incredibly sophisticated way, and makes fruitful (for herr)use of that understanding.

If you were to commission me to choreograph an evening-length dance piece based on your life, what style would it be in? Pointe shoes and tutus? Postmodernist minimalism? Fosse-esque sass? Something else?

When you go to the beach do you sit under an umbrella or directly in the sun?
When I go to the beach I don't sit at all. I scramble on the cliffs and hike in the woods and ramble across the rocks.

When you're hiking, do you prefer mountaintop vistas or coastal seascapes?

Re: Random Questions Game

The shelter or, even better, a local rescue (who can use the funds we give them for our pooch to help save at least 3 or 4 others from the shelter). That's how we got our Kenobi. Rescues are the best.

I'd want to be someone who I don't know very well, and who (seems to) have very different views/outlook on life than me. I'm always trying to understand people who are polar opposites to me. Even if I robably won't ever agree with them, I'd like to genuinely understand where they're coming from and why.

What's the biggest lie you've ever told? And why?

Do you know much about any of your ancestors prior to your grandparents?
I know that I am directly related on my Mother's side to William Wallace, Scottish hero and English scourge and locus of much very bad historiography. :noble: He's my x-number-of-"Great"s Uncle.

If you could fictitiously invent your family tree and claim any historical figure to be your ancestor, who would you choose and why?

Re: Random Questions Game

I have three cats: Lucifur, Stephen Dedalus, and Cassandra. They are assholes and I love them.

I also have a dog, Kenobi, who I adore so much it physically hurts. I have wanted a dog my ENTIRE LIFE, and have never had my own (though I have been a second Mom and/or doting Auntie to a number of my friends' and siblings' pooches). Finally being in a place in my life (both in the physical/geographical and the stability/settledness sense) where I am able to give a pup a good life is so fucking rewarding and wonderful. I love this beast more than it is sensible to love a creature with whose shit you interact on a twice daily basis. (This is also true of the cats, but I don't like to say it out loud because their egos get too big.)

Here is Kenobi being a hipster:

Re: Random Questions Game

Green. I grew up on the West coast of Canada, and "green" is not so much a solitary colour there, but more of a mood or a range of perception or a way of experiencing the world.
There's the wet, vibrant green of the moss and ferns that cushion the forest floor, the blue-green of the still water in an isolated cove, the black-green of the massive ocean swells of a winter storm, the dappled yellow-green of the leaves above your head on a silent Spring morning....
I love green.
