Cheers, LC. I think your Lice curse on Rachel didn't affect anyone, since she didn't receive votes on Day 5, as far as I can tell.

I'm gonna write down that Samuel (Spacedaisy) and Mordecai (Xth) got feuded on Night 7, based on Daisy's guess, at least until Llama confirms it.

I was glad to have detected Jacob's hint, because I'm usually not good at detecting anything. He basically said something in the vein that civs need him alive, especially as long as they keep lynching Heathens. Clear Joshua as prolonged day.

I actually got that mixed with Nicodemus silencing me, Ruth, Paul.

Silencing: Nicodemus did? On D2, when he silenced three people at once? At least that's my assumption.

Of course, it didn't lead to anything and I didn't keep track of the sock activity for much time, after the game started, in order not to lose all the sanity I had left. Some players really do have patterns of activity, though.
Sign-ups were while I was still in holiday in Cali. That would have completely wrecked any chance you had of gaming my forum patterns from just sign ups! Lol.

I had great difficulty both staying away from the thread and the Chatzy at times Americans shouldn't be awake. That was my one and only attempt to obfuscate my identity.
I know, none of the real player vs sock player timeline match profoundly. But I still get to keep this pattern, in case something will be more revealing in future games. :dark:

I only abstained from posting during mornings (when americans are asleep, except for SVS waking up early) and had hard times staying awake until 5am, simply because the polls got so late. And then got freaking stuck that way, because of constant Heathen lynches and Joshua invalidating the nights arrrghhh!!!

During the early stages, I would literally only post in the evenings (afternoons in America), to blend in with the others. Later on, when things got heated, I couldn't resist and started posting earlier (faking an 8-9am morning activity over in USA), too.

FZ, for instance, didn't (or couldn't) fake her usual timeline, so it was easy to detect her.

Re: Biblical Mafia [ENDGAME]

Quadruple post for final thoughts (for now, lol):

Thanks Epig for the game and congrats for it as well. You're still my favourite religious person who actually knows his stuff and you ran a smooth and intricate game, with slick host posts. Poker face BTS conversations too - certainly different from chatting like mad with MP back in Death Note. :P

I liked my assigned sock and role very much. My sock name really had a cool, exotic ring to it. I still don't know if Epig intentionally connected such dots, but Belshazzar also happens to be an opera by Handel (and a BOC song, as far as I understand, but I don't listen to them), so it fits my RL profile, too. As for Death, I guess I'm growing comfortable with FEB or Indy win-grab roles. XD I haven't been too cheerful in RL these months either, so I was comfy with such a role. I was also watching a full philosophical Yale course on Death (available on YouTube) during March/April, around the time the game started, so this role tag was quite the coincidence.

I'm in a position in which I can congratulate both the civvies and the Heathens for their game, because they both contributed to a tight duel. The Heathens really mixed it up, from Uzziah laughing in our face to Ruth's distancing and Esther & Rahab flying low and playing it subtle. But the civs, alongside a few other horsemen, also had some top notch hunting days. By the time three Heathens were down in a rather short amount of days, I was really starting to sweat, because my death count was only at the halfway point. That's why I was compelled to write my last words in such fashion. I was still probably the luckiest of the Horsemen to achieve his win condition, overall. I still want to stress that I didn't pull any shenanigans with my lynch votes, despite my role allowing total indifference to who gets stones, and that I simply was a bad lyncher - but this will, of course, only constitute WIFOM in future games where I'll screw up just as bad, heh.

I won't elaborate further on how inactive/coattail players and role hinters acted, but I could certainly do with a lot less of that. I'm equally aware, however, that each new game will be a reboot for many, in which either new situations or the impulse to do the same stuff again will resurface. One thing I'm happier with, actually, is having givenmore cred this time to hinters such as Jacob, instead of never believing them and hunting them relentlessly, only to feel real bad afterwards (like it was with FZ. in Death Note or Canuck in Film...omg where is Canuck btw??).

Re: Biblical Mafia [ENDGAME]

And finally

6. The game spreadsheet. Updated according to how much I know, of course.

As for what I still don't know (and will likely remained unanswered):

a) Which players did Famine target to post only once and when. (I should actually check back in the thread, because I think players like Rachel and Lot hinted at it). Also, I assume he silenced me, Ruth and Paul on Day 2, but I could be wrong.

b) Which players did War place in a "feud" relationship and when (besides me vs. Paul and Lot vs. Lazarus - though I think the latter was Moses' doing).

c) Uggh. I guess it's way too much to ask Conquest how did he create and modified his factions, so I won't even try.

d) Which players did Uzziah incapacitate and when. (good luck squeezing that info out of him :kadaj: )

e) Which players did Pharaoh force and when. (but Xth already said he won't tell :kadaj:)

f) If Ruth emasculated succesfully any prophets. Who did she target, otherwise, and when.

g) Which players did Deborah block and when.

h) Which dead players did Esther check and when.

i) When did Rahab join the Heathens and who did she check to join them.

j) If Cain checked any aligments on Night 1.

k) If Paul ever inquired the Host on a player alignment ahead of voting Day 2.

l) If Mary Magdalene offered someone amnesty from the poll on Day 2. I forgot who that player was.

m) If Hagar ever checked any players' identity.

n) Fat chance, but whether Malchus ever guessed a future lynch correctly and got/used any power boost.

o) If Chapter VII night kill failed because of Lazarus using his protection.

p) When and which players did Moses target with: Lice, Flies, Pestilence, Hail and Darkness. I hope I got it right on which nights he used his other powers, otherwise.

I understand Noah 1.0/2.0 never saved anyone from the floods, which makes it really interesting that the victims were always low players, much like Balaam used to pray to happen.

Re: Biblical Mafia [ENDGAME]

Sooooo:

1. Here is, again, my list of projections for the identities behind the socks. I kept doing it until I got lynched or so. I just threw in every hunch for every player, as soon I had a signal, that's why there are multiple guesses in front of most. Amusing that a few player I assumed would join this game never did (BWT, Boo, Made, Enrique, Mongoose, Unfurl, Zeek).

I probably should have written down a few reasons for my hunches as well (other than the obvious slips or trademarks), because I don't remember said reasons anymore now: mostly related to their gameplay (writing style, read style, use of emoticons, etc.), though.

Not quite MP-level, but 11 good picks out of 33 ain't too shabby either.

2. Instead of my "Death-Note method" of transcribing each players' activity, I did a generic table this time with each players' read on everyone else. I'm not too happy with the method, however, because it didn't help much to rely just on that - case in point, having to go back on Day 8 and do those massive re-reads on everybody alive (which I also saved in writing at that time, below each table). Here's just a sample.

3. Here's some even crazier and pointless stuff, though. Whilst the game was in sign-ups, I started keeping track of players' activity in the forum (whether visible or hidden, when logged in), in hopes that their sockplay would then either match or completely contrast. The darker the color, the more frequent the respective player (or sock) was present in that particular hour. Of course, it didn't lead to anything and I didn't keep track of the sock activity for much time, after the game started, in order not to lose all the sanity I had left. Some players really do have patterns of activity, though.

I never counted the fact that XthGamer, Leggy, Heiots or DREAM might join, so that's why they only show up in the *newbies* row.

4. Usual theory tidbits on role and sock identities. Decent enough.

5. Votes walkthrough (as far as I'm aware off i.e. not aware of other vote manipulation).

So it turns out most of the Prophets were slackers.

Dom, I also had Rachel/you tagged as possible Zealot, but Bass completely drew in with his gameplay. As I've hinted once, Bass isn't usually the subtle player with his abilities (think Film Directors, when he called MM bad both in the thread AND in his Night messages, lol), so that's why I really doubted he could be anything but the Zealot.

Boy though, did he really mess things around with his Zealot-insinuating game.

Once it gets started, another full game and a speed game will go into sign-ups, and thereafter we can start running the shiny new games from the upcoming queue.

The thing I found most hilarious about that, is that you were lynched right after me. Even though you were one of the first people I tried to make a case on in the game. Read backs didnt help you guys there did it :meany:

And the rules really helped you guys out here. I am used to not really having any restrictions. Info dumping and what not being allowed as long as it's something you found out or deduced within means of the rules. Unfortunately here you cannot out another player, even when they are dead.

My plan was that, in the event that I was facing guaranteed death, before I died I was going to throw a topic grenade into the thread that Nicodemus is famine, and allude that civs lose if Horseman meet their win conditions. Ya know since we nightkilled him, and only heathens know that because of deadchecking. That way it would take some heat off of heathens and force you guys to look elsewhere for completely different reasons.
You wouldn't have been allowed to info dump on Nicodemus being Famine, though. (Sorry about these rules being applied, I guess)

But, as others have already said, you have adapted well. I started thinking about your identity when you got testy during rebuttals, tbh, then the gifs definitely sealed it (but you were already dead by then, so not much of a guess anymore).

We didn't know Samsons vote counted.
But Samson's vote came in the last second, after Mordecai's.

In case you missed it, hats off again to your post-rezz posts. I was in awe how much of a creative fight you were able to pull, even with zero chances to be taken as anything else but a rezzed Heathen.

I started targeting Heathens after they started getting lynched, even though I realized it would leave to nothing significant, as long as Joshua was alive. I got stuck with my Ruth pick on the day Mordecai got lynched, then it was another Day and I got lynched, so that's why she had risen. My "last words" was just a sudden flavour story, considering I knew what would happen after my death - plus the kill Jacob part, which would have helped both me and the Heathens throughout the rest of the game.

Anything that manages to unseat American Gods as my favorite game deserves high praise indeed. (but damn, American Gods was fun.)
NOOOOO! Don;t unseat American Gods!
What can I say, I just have a thing for games about deities.

Did anyone NOT know Absalom was me? I tried really hard to play different at first, but gave up after a few days.

Also, I only seem able to survive as an active player in Sock games. No idea why that is.
As I've said, I had you for pulling Bible quotes as Nicodemus (and the way DH jumped on me after I didn't wagon on Uzziah Day 3 also made me think of you), and I had DH as Absalom (for reasons I can't recall) and it's funny how it was the other around.

That one missed vote was on purpose though.
Why didn't you save yourself, on the day of your lynch?

You didn't get Samson because he was your first target. There was another mechanic in play for that: Moses. :dark:

timmer wrote:Regarding my inactivity in the game as Deborah. the first few days i was genuinely absent due to life issues. But after awhile, I realized two things. 1) I've never really been one of those players who sign up and then don't post, so I decided to sort of see how long I could do that and survive, but it made sense to me to try because 2) I noticed that the main block of active civs were focusing VERY INTENSELY, with rainbow wall posts, almost EXCLUSIVELY on voting records. Very few people were reading players individually, but instead studied lynches. So I calmly made a point of showing up at about the 3/4 mark every single day, made a little post explaining my vote, and voted. To the lynch readers, my lack of content didn't seem all that important, lol, and I survived that way until Day 13!

While I wasn't exactly proud of the choice I made for this game, it was kind of fun to keep it calibrated ehhehe
I still wanted to take you down early on, but nobody else cared and I took the pedal off myself. :disappoint:

Hats off to Esther and Rahab, otherwise. I died having them, based on posts analysis, as having the cleanest record.

One should hardly believe that someone with the title "Horseman of the Apocalypse" wishes well for anyone but himself. We didn't know what your endgame there was, so we avoided it entirely. Plus we didnt know if all the horseman knew each other, so it could have been some kind of scheme to screw us over with some kind of circumstantial activation parameter

By the way, with my experience in third parties, I was completely convinced that the horsemen were win stealers. Where if they dont die when the game ends, they win.
But my idea was 100% in your interest as well. :shrug2: You didn't kill him, so you still didn't get to night kill even after one of you got caught.

Yes. About that. I've never seen such inactivity. I quit writing down Night actions because I would have three or four regularly.
:disappoint:

I was saddened by that myself. Even with my hectic RL and playing another game, I was able to post once per period as Stephen for a while there.
I don't want this to sound too serious hat mode, but I'm still seriously considering playing a future game as borderline inactive, considering how bad I got burned being so active (yet wrong about stuff), whilst others fared much better and did so little. Of course, I said I'd play like Deborah did, but I can't do that anymore, now that she flipped bad.

Now that this game is over, I can also disclose that my Omerta game was partially a protest both in this regard, as well as towards the tendency to lynch "oddball" players right away, early on in games. (Even though I'm a hypocrite for the latter part, because I also contributed to oddball players getting lynched in this game  )

Well, I got feuded with Paul exactly the Night he got killed, so I didn't have to worry about that, but I totally understood from them on what was going on with others. Hence my hints.

MP, did I slip to you re: my identity? Did I slip to anyone else? Dead (pun) curious about this.
I actually had you pegged as Llama at first, but then realized Absalom was Llama pretty quickly, then had you as a ??? for a while. You did a good job. I could tell it was you about halfway through the game.

I'm not sure why, but I'm really good at figuring out who is behind the socks. I suppose I have to make up for my terrible civilian play somehow. :P
Halfway as in when I died? When I started defending for my life?

The only thing I abstained from was posting during the nights, over in America time, and posting music references, as much as I would have died to (cue my Aphrodite's Child exit). Otherwise, I started out wanting to play a different character under my sock (being more brazen, jokey), but ultimately failed and just played myself (posting a lot).

I forgot who called me a leader at some point. I wasn't, but thank you nevertheless. :noble:
Yep, I could tell it was 100% you once you had to start defending yourself hard. It reminded me of Donner Party.

Again, though, I had almost everyone else pegged correctly before you.
Given who Absalom was, it's quite the walk down the memory lane. :sigh:

At least I totally beat Llama and DH in trivia googling, ha! :slick: Llama was so drunk. Epig told me afterwards that I played alongside Horses, but I had Rachel, not Nicodemus, for one.

Re: Biblical Mafia [ENDGAME]

So I actually had DH pinned as Absalom and Llama as Nicod, huh!

Here are my projections, up until I died and stopped doing them. Some of them were obvious slips (Bass should really change his nick to _not_so_Clever), a few others were hits, wow. The rest was shite.

Absalom
DH

Balaam
MP, TH, BOO, TIM

Barnabas
R8

Bathsheba
-

Cain
DOM, DP, MAD

Deborah
-

Esther
ENR (lol)

Gideon
-

Hagar
-

Isaac
DEV

Jacob
-

Jephthah
LC, MP, R8, LLM, BWT
euro: FZ, ZEEK, SPLINTS

Jonah
R8

Jonathan
JUL!, FZ, ROX, (Gman, R8)

Job
R8

Judah
-

Lazarus
BASS
BASS
BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSS

Lot
slip: GOLD, ELO
initially: LLM, BOO, TH, DH, MP

Malchus
R8

Martha
MONG, BEA, ROX

Mary Magdalene
-

Mordecai
Xth, DH, BOO, CAN

Nicodemus
LLM

Paul
if new: ??
if local: DP, R8, LLM, TH, SOPH

Pilate
-

Rachel
SVS, FZ, UNF(t) (lool)

Rahab
UNF(t)

Rebecca
-

Ruth
SVS, ROX, SPC, UNF, ELO

I realized Ruth was SVS when I revived her. She didn't pull it in the end, but that was the most impressive post-rez defending from a baddie I've ever seen so far. So creative, so wild.

Samson
MM(btsc slip)

Samuel
slip: SPC?
LC, MM

Stephen
-

Uzziah
FUCKING DUH
