Re: [ENDGAME]: Film Directors.

True, we just needed the lynch to go through, no matter if it's LC or Made.

But we wouldn't have killed someone else, really, because we figured you have to be Coen from when our previous NK attempt failed.

I tend to take more attention on, so I didn't cary most of the kills. We alternated protecting myself and my teammates. Before Lizzy was replaced, I don't think we protected her at all, and after she did, Timmer died so Made just replaced Timmer in that rotation between myself and my teammate.
Well now that it's clear that the civ blocker (FZ) died early, we never did a good job with our block in stopping your team. We started with the idea that BR could be bad, because we blocked her on N1 and there was no kill, but that wasn't true. We blocked Llama on N3, but can't remember the reason. From what I've noted, we didn't even block on Nights 5, 7 and 9, wtf, better re-check that.

It was really on N10 when we blocked LC and wanted to kill you that we realized because the kill didn't go through, you could be Coen.

On our nights, I usually insisted on blocking BWT as often as possible, because with his power out of the picture, we faced one block/counter-action less.

Re: [ENDGAME]: Film Directors.

Lots of typos, grammar mistakes above, but nevermind.

Here are my spreadsheets of the game, as complete as possible so far:

The roles / days dynamic
The votes
My theories / deduction (nothing too amazing, as can be seen, but still pretty much on the right track in most cases)

What I still don't know:

- Bros: who killed who, except Sabie (Tim, right?) and Llama (Dom, right?)
- who did Blooper force to miss the vote, except for me (D4). This was really hard to even try to guess, because a lot of missing votes in the early Days.
- what prize did LC win from the pop quiz
- if everyone who got their get-to-10 +1s (except me and TH) used it on D11

Re: [ENDGAME]: Film Directors.

Other things I can disclose / appreciated right now:

- I partipicated in most of the events, but also missed out on some (the bad review letter, which I believe Llama won, got a rezz and used it on BWT & the pop quiz - LC, what did you win?): I won an +1 vote prize for the misspelled directors event, we chose the vote block (the one we saved till the very last moment) from three possible prizes for the Fresh Air even and got another +1 for the get-to-10 challenge.

- Sorry FZ. for getting you lynched/killed early again. Althought, maybe less sorry now that it turns out you were the civ blocker. ;) We kept thinking he's still in this for a long time. I'm also delighted that Llama bit the WIFOM trap and that it led to the Vomps bludgeoning.

- I saved Roxy from the D4 lynch (her 3-2 with Blooper) with my first +1, but Llama obviously also accidentally contributed to it as Welles. The only thing I'm not sure if he also had a +1 and he used it to basically overkill Blooper. From there on, I was pretty sure his role was the appropriately cocky Welles, but Canuck's votes still counting confirmed it later (even if he was long dead by then). He didn't really have good opportunities to use his power, anyway, because most of the lynches were landslides (Vom, MP) or a much too spreaded tally (AP, BWT). Llama, did your vote turn to 0 after Day 4 (because of the D1 redo) or Day 5? (not that you voted on Day 5 anyway)

- Sorry for killing you, timmer (literally in fact). We didn't actually have any idea who you might, but I have been snooping around the GoC at that time and noticed you had crazy vote-analysis/endgame deduction skillz and basically got afraid of letting you live much longer. The others were fine with the idea.

- Bass, man, you really outed yourself with the Eisenstein messages, but I wasn't sure if I should even hint at this at all in the thread and we didn't want to kill you because you were aiming at us hard. It is indeed crazy how much you were onto all three of us, glad nobody listened to you. :D Also, I know I've spoke and supported mostly Roxy along the game, but I want you to know my thoughts were/are with you as well.

- I'd also like to thank everyone for not listening to BWT while he was gunning for me. :D What was your gut feeling about me, BWT?

- MM's first lockdown was meant to happen after a certain player got the most votes, but MM didn't pay attention to the BTSC tactic at all and went ahead and locked it at a three-way tie. Was pretty vexed with that. Surprisingly, it turned out ok.

- MM didn't perform a single kill in this game. XD

- We killed SVS as a WIFOM. Actually we wanted a big player gone, so the shortlist was SVS, LC, Dom, but then Roxy just came in the BTSC and said "I'll kill SVS. Debate over". Hilarious.

- Why didn't you ever consider NK'ing me, Bros? Genuinely curious. Definitely expected to get the NK blow instead of Bass or Vomps, for instance.

- I pushed for Roxy to get replaced (and also wanted TH expressely as the sub) and I now realize it could have been entirely our downfall. I really didn't expect this replacement not to make the others relax about this role as much the AP/Vomps/Made replacement worked that way. I also expected everyone to treat TH more kindly, after they lynched him for being a good case-maker, but was totally wrong about that as well. That's part of what screwed with my endgame mentality, because I obviously did everything to not lose TH. Really amazing how we pull it through, considering all this. Not sure why Canuck was the only one who picked up on it. Silly civs. :P

- My N10 action was to kill Dom and it bounced (ironic in fact that the only two kills I personally undertake turned out to be directed towards Bros). Since then, we were certain he's Coen, but neither me or TH could really turn the discussion towards him in any way.

- Real lucky on every TH-lynch occasion that Made turned it around and we could jump on it. Weird choice to distance from Dom there, in fact, instead of easily pushing TH to certain lynch.

- TH snatching the chameleon prize saved our asses on D11, hands down. Completely providential.

- We then wasted both our +1s from the get-to-10 event to overkill Canuck. Oops. That's why we were still tense till the end, even though we still had the vote block from Fresh Air.

- Yep, should have really picked on that Lang didn't post on N12 and that he couldn't be Made. Glad TC made the right call, even though I passed out last night.

Re: [ENDGAME]: Film Directors.

Right.

First of all, I want to thank Alison for all the effort she put in this game and for inviting me to participate, ultimately making me catch the Mafia bug (no matter how much it screwed with my nights and/or my RL activities). It was very fun, but also challenging and at times very tense and rollercoaster-y for me and my team. I was initially bummed the film theme went in the background, but I'm fully adapted to the game mentality nowadays. So, thanks again, Alison, this has been great.

A big shout-out to my partners in crime MM, Roxy and TH for a great collaboration and BTSC time. I should probably discard such feelings as soon as moving on to a different game, but right now you are obviously the players I feel closest to. Damn, though, you are all dangerous partners given how much heat you can draw on yourselves, how the hell did we even pull this. Probably just my impression, but Alison also offered such nice feedback, you could almost say she rooted with us. :P

I feel like I have to work on my endgame, overall. I would have deserved the crappiest Civ award in this situation - wrong about BR, wrong about Canuck, wrong about LC, oblivious about Lizzy/Made, unable to challenge Dom - but I was surprisingly genuine in these mistakes even as a baddie plotter. Dom was really hard to play against throughout the entire game: I did start picking up most of the right signals at some point, but still couldn't dare to poke him, because I was rather too scared of his ways of bitting back and being snapy about it, so kudos to his Bro game and also to Made's, damn.

That doesn't mean I didn't sweat hard at other times as well, especially in the first four or so Days - Llama's question (uhm yeah, thanks for giving me "big-balls newbie cred" there, civvies XD :dark:), the D1 redo, making SVS jump (it was really unintentional tbh), the "gender bugaboo", all of that was real tense to go through.

The only thing I wish to really want to address is the BTSC-training accusation. MM and Roxy were very clear from Day 0 that they want me to develop and play my game and so it happened. We didn't even discuss defending/distancing tactics much, we just appreciated at times if we were doing it well or not. I was actually more preocuppied these last Days to chisel my endgame replies together with TH (and viceversa, chisel his replies) than I've ever been concerned about doing the right thing with MM & Rox. So my frustrations back there were more of a genuine "not-fair-to-get-lynched-for-this / don't undervalue my game" rebuttal than an intentional baddie deflection tactic.

Re: [Day 13]: Film Directors.

I'm sorry if I will be wrong about you as I've been about Canuck, but that was not the (re)assurance I asked for. Since you brought up the lynch dangers you faced, you've said nothing, for instance, of Made pushing a lynch for you on two if not almost three occasions and that apparently doesn't make you say you'd vote for him. That is not reassuring as an intention. The "baddies won, doesn't matter anymore, leave me be" type of dejection is not reassuring. The "I'll bandwagon on whoever gets two votes" type of vote strategy is not reassuring. Frankly, I still find it sounding like baddie talk - wanting pressure off you and waiting to vote on whoever else the votes would land on.

At this point I could in theory deliberate that I'm more confident about LC being a Bro rather than Made, but I still feel like holding on to my vote right now. I'm also in "trust-no-one mode", which is why I'm wary of Made as well, especially given that he came in here earlier, but didn't address any of this.

Re: [Day 13]: Film Directors.

I'm a civ, LC. I could be indeed completely wrong in how I read Made all this time since he subbed in; there wasn't really anything there to make him that sketchy to me. I can see why Made couldn't possibly be your teammate since he gunned for you for almost three Days straight, but that still doesn't pin him as anything clear. He could be a civ and you wanting either me or Made to get lynched would work in your advantage as a Bro (victim + killing TH tonight, then winning). Him being a second Hack would work the same way. That's two advantageous scenarios already, yet you just gave me a completely opposite one in which you say you are dead meat. Sounds like a bluff to me. To paraphrase your earlier demand, I would actually need assurance from you that you're not trying to pull a fast one and that I wouldn't be wasting my vote here.

Re: [Day 12]: Film Directors.

So upon taking Made's blindspot advice, I actually went over a revisit of his 2.0 game, because right now he may be the only player left I could still say I find him to be more civ than bad.

He replaced Lizzy, which was the second most AWOL player of this game. I may still be completely wrong, but if Sabie/AP flipped civ under the AWOL theory, I don't believe Lizzy/Made is bad for her AWOL either or at least am not inclined to pursue this path anymore at this stage.

Now, Made's D7 could actually hold some material for second thoughts on him, but I'll also explain in a bit why those doubts then kinda vanish. Given how much I distrust LC right now, I could spot that Made's ideas about Llama's kill were initially that it's all a set up for LC; he later picked DF as the dubious fellow to bring the issue of the WIFOM up. Overall, his idea of that WIFOM is that it'd be best thrown away (which in theory I'd agree with, if only it wouldn't seem like both teams have relished in setting up one WIFOM after another and just watch us contemplate if they're true or we should look elsewhere), but if not, he would pursue DF; he missed the vote that day because of the lock (his interactions with MM were generally adversarial on that day btw), but did vote DF on D8. What invalidates, however, this possible lead (i.e. him also pushing DF to his lynch and defending LC) is that, following DF's flip as civ (and SVS' kill), he revisited his view on the WIFOMs and started actively suspecting LC more. It took him another day, but since he's been voting LC constantly.

His views of Canuck have been pretty much on the same level as mine so far. He did not believe that Canuck would be an obvious defending teammate of MM, instead, a possible candidate being more likely a distanced one (he nominated DF) - at that time, I also believed that, even if the DF nomination proved wrong. On D9, upon revisiting his views on the WIFOMs, he felt like voting for Canuck, but called himself "trigger shy"; he later did vote for her because he's suspected her genuineness to be fake. He offered a further read on her D10.

I don't believe he clarified what connection he saw in Lang's D8?/N8? post regarding SVS or Roxy, but that's only relevant anymore in regards to TH2.0, in case he still has something to say about it.

Other reads: AP's only(?) rebuttal on D9 read genuine to him (if a bit wary for offering it only when asked) and it proved AP was civ. Also on D9, he didn't find Dom to be suspicious much, but on D10, after his read on him, he demanded Dom a rebuttal, considering to vote for him depending on his answers. Didn't pursue it further after receiving the rebuttal.

If the last two paragraphs (AP notwithstanding) can count as gripes, they're still nothing major for me to have him as a suspect. "I may still be completely wrong" disclaimer nevertheless in full effect, of course.

Re: [Day 12]: Film Directors.

Sorry I didn't show up the past two days, everyone. Wednesday's workshop I attended was exhausting and yesterday I was out in town until 10 o'clock in the evening, after which I had to pack and get some sleep ahead of an early morning flight. But I'm back from London now, albeit with a monstruous cold, and ready to resume.

Since replacing Spacedaisy, Vompatti voted for Canuck twice in a row and then switched to TH, believing it to be a deciding fourth vote. I can see any baddie wanting his unpredictable, volatile vote out of the way, but I can't see the result sought from this kill right now, concering the two mentioned above. TH is obviously not having a better day, if he did remove Vomps from the tally. Canuck labelled Spacedaisy/Vomps as among the least likely baddies, but if she's bad, she might desire the votes not to return her way, once TH is lynched, in case the others saying they might look closer at her are earnest about doing so.

LC, do you still feel TH is a Hack?

Well, my vote is now the last, but it's far from a decider already, so I'd like to stick with my personal top suspects. Would go for either LC or Canuck. LC sounds fine given the current tally (I'm sure he wouldn't appreciate me spreading my vote to a third option, anyway). ;)

Also, think I'm past 10 posts myself already, yay.

So yeah, he didn't need to throw you under the bus, because the suspicions on DF developed well enough to have payed off when it was between him and you on Day 8.

 Is this a response to my post about trusting LC? Or just a restatement of your theory that we're teammates?
The latter pretty much.

Also you were a surefire lynch candidate, but DF got lynched 7 to 3. Surefire, indeed.

What? Do you read my posts like, ever? What "lesson" are you referring to? Since when is TH the "second most inactive player"? I've given reasons for suspecting TH since he replaced in, and agreed with Bass's suspicion of Rox before he died. Suspicions have long lives. They don't just magically fabricate themselves each morning (unless you're a baddie) and thus don't really require restatement each day.
This whole post is just blatant misinformation and confusing, tbh.
It is on your behalf, because I was talking about Made.

Re: [Day 11]: Film Directors.

Couldn't agree more with Made's read on the issue. The level of never bringing each other into discussion or saying "oh, well, she/he is suspicious, but I'm nowhere near voting for him" from LC and Canuck in particular has been stupendous these past days.
Canucklehead wrote:Hmmm....I dunno if I'm prepared to vote LC. Like my views on Dom, I keep flipflopping on LC......but if it gets to a point where I have to vote LC to save myself, I'll obviously do so.....but I'd prefer not to.

He's confused about how an easy Canuck lynch in which he could continue t follow along unnoticed was so rapidly turned around, in the process making him look rather opportunistic. :nicenod:
So, you're suspicious of LC?
Not any more than I'm suspicious of pretty much everyone at this point. I was mostly just needling him ;)

I believe we can still turn this thing around my friend. What do you make of Canuck defending MM?
Hard times sometimes call for insane measures. I'm still on the fence about Canuck.
I'm feeling Canuck might be bad just because I was on the fence and then SVS died-- idk, man.
What does S~V~S' death have to do with Canuck?
Long Con wrote:Damn, Made... that's cold.

Well, I hope you're a baddie, Canuck. Some of the stuff you were saying earlier really made you look like a baddie to me, but your latest stuff has been very charming, so
I don't know. A lot of what you posted echoed my own feelings, and that makes me feel like you could be Civ. Or an empathetic baddie.

This seems important but I'm not clear on the specifics. Was sabie targeted for a kill and survived, and the post was written as such?
Yes. Mongoose arguably made a story around that kill attempt, but most assumed sabie being mentioned as the target and that "she was rescued" i.e. the kill didn't go through was the part that was true. That's the only thing that, missing in this case, makes me think of a no kill. Otherwise, it is indeed highly unlikely.

lol, ok, Rico = 4 but I'm done for real, good night

Re: [Day 11]: Film Directors.

I'll revisit all the players, but my main impulse is to look at those who pushed AP's lynch into discussion (high likelihood of him being under-the-radar) and ultimately into effect. Also, at this point, there are only a few players left that I could still say they look more civ than bad to me, which makes the discussion more complicated.

Rico = 3 and I think this is where I'll stop for now, because need sleep. Also, I can hear the person in the hotel room next to me snoring, wtf.

This might point to no kill? IDK.

There's many ways to read that-- do we have any inactive left? Are the baddies trying to appear inactive?
In theory, the civ blocker could still be alive and the Coens might have also incidentally protected the player who was targeted. But there are many ways to read this, indeed, that's why I was wondering.

What do you mean by inactives? Past inactives - in which case, yes, Lizzy/Made and Spacedaisy/Vomps? Current inactives? No, everyone's been contributing.

Dom = 1
Rico = 2
