Ah good point. That could explain the gentlemen part, too.Enrique wrote:Hm yeah I always thought of it as a couple of (heterosexual) crossdressers, so you'd have the male singer wearing lipstick and RR wearing a moustache or whatever. But yeah, it's probably ambiguous because the interpretation doesn't matter and all you're supposed to get is that they're having fun roleplaying.

Re: [SPECTATOR CHAT] Mafia of Montreal
Oh, forgot to mention, but of course the thing that threw me off was googling Rose Robert and only males coming up.

Re: [SPECTATOR CHAT] Mafia of Montreal
Actually, it never does, it's always calling by name or "my RR". "mon chere" is simply my dear.Enrique wrote:Doesn't the song use female pronouns? I'm not sure actually but I always assumed that.Ricochet wrote:Wait, is Rose Robert a he?
It was that + stuff like "The gentlemen don't know whether to bow their heads
or tip their hats" + "You draw on your mustache while I powder my nose." that made me wonder aloud.
Then again, that last line could be just roleplay fun antics.
Maybe I'm just reading too much into it. The song others seems like a regular, hipsy, witty love song, in which two souls just connect in their own way.

We're 7 people left in there - I locked myself in the bathroom, trying to post at work, and can't get out - what's keeping others from spreading?Scotty wrote:Also that Champions game is just sucking the life out of the other games on this site. Someone please win that so people will spread out again!

Re: [SPECTATOR CHAT] Mafia of Montreal
oh shiz sig wasn't bad either
Key opposing elements in Mafia for me are analysis and deception. More or less the civs have the former, the mafia must make use of the later. Without having hosted yet any game, I usually find myself interested in how the deception side of the game would turn out, aka would root for the mafia to pull a good win. This would probably wear off, as a Host, when I'd be committed to being impartial.
A third path would probably be rooting for each player to use their assigned roles to their best capabilities. Come to think of it, the thing I love most in Mafia are actually the roles. THM is for me an extraordinary example of this. Civs, mafia and rogue alike hardly made any major misstep with their roles.
So I'm basically your favourite?Epignosis wrote:I start out neutral, but root for those that put forth effort.Golden wrote:As a host, I find myself rooting for everyone. You can't help it, even though you know everyone can't win. All you really want is people to play hard and try to win, and for each individual person I hope for them that they happen to use their ability perfectly. Great cases are part of that.Enrique wrote:I know I'm supposed to stay neutral, but damn that's a good case.

Those two are just
Luckily, I already called scum on them, so the civs just need to do what's necessary.
