Re: Death Note Mafia [DAY 3]

Only reason I suspected Russ was the whole conspicuous absence thing from the beginning of the game. I may be wrong, but it seemed like a baddie tye thing to do, and contrary to his behavior in the earlier game I'd played with him.

Zomberella is guilty by association with Llama. Reading in past posts reveals a level of complicitness that I think goes beyond a common threat, I think they are co-conspirators.

Epi is suspect because of the points that Zomberella brought up earlier about him working to build a mob to lynch a particular person, and then backing out of the deal personally. If there is a baddie power that encourages you to build a posse of some type and then llynch someone, I bet he has it.

As far as supporters, I believe they have my best interest at heart, I return the favor. I would say the greatest likelihood is that they have powers relate to my existence.

Too sleepy, eyes keep closing. More tomorrow.

Cheers,

Of course, Llama's armchair psychoanalysis of the use of words like "bandwagon", "team", and "pianist". Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, and sometimes people use words as their intended meaning, without reference to (or knowledge of) their context in this setting. IIRC, someone asked if I was looking for a bandwagon to join, and I joked (gasp) that I would if the right bandwagon came along.

So that's Llama's smoking gun, his big piece of evidence against me. It was clearly a joke, I even posted a big "join the bandwagon" banner.

Back to you, because your deflect and defer Kung Fu is weak. I've responded to your accusation, what about mine. I say you're Kira, your pals are too, and you've invented an anti-Snowman campaign to Wag the Dog and distract from actual Kira hunting. You would have motive, andKira BTSC would provide the type of coordination and cooperation that my some of my detractors seems to enjoy (if even to a small degree).

I say you've avoided direct discussion of your big "bandwagon bombshell" because it's weak as a baby and sounds more and more rediculous with repetition.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have others Trolls that need feeding.

Re: Death Note Mafia [DAY 3]

The Story So Far...

Epi was getting rowdy, accusing people left and right, but never voting for them to be lynched. People noticed, people began to accuse him, when out of the blue, Llama swooped in, accusing Snowman with loud, frequent, baseless posts, beginning with:
thellama73 wrote:

Boo has already answered this question. Why not ask something new?
Because I'm still interested in this discussion. What do you think I should be talking about?
Something less boring than Russ, which has been covered to death and which only he knows the answer to. Boring, boring, boring!

And as we all know...

(huge picture about boredom deleted due to size)

Why not talk about Snowman? Now he is interesting...
As compelling an argument as that was (and frankly, I must agree with that one point alone), he persisted for exactly one bazillion posts, quoting himself, using circular logic, and overall making baseless accusations, counting on rote repetition to serve as a suitable replacement for logic or evidence.

Llama then began to craft his own "evidence", which amounted to 1) Snowman doesn't post much (no one posts as much as Llama, but I've posted everyday since the game began), 2) Snowman hasn't defended himself, and therefore, is guilty (there was nothing to contradict, because Llama never presented any evidence, nor made any specific accusations), and 3) Snowman makes too many jokes (that's not what yo momma said).

Finally, Llama's saber-rattling elevated to the point where he was almost killed for it in a near-three way tie that ultimately ended in BWT's lynch. He dialed it waaaaaaaay back, leaving room for Zombaddie to take the reins in the anti-Snowman campaign, possibly spurred on by a recent death in another game. Contrary to Llama, Zombad actually offered some evidence--Snowman is sneaky.

Yes I am. I'm a high school physics teacher IRL, and it is to my benefit to think one step ahead of 160 little juvenile delinquents. I know when you are texting during class, I know when you are cheating off of your friend--and I know when you're targeting low-hanging fruit in order to delay and distract attention away from your Kira buddies.

Based on their actual behavior, I think the clear choices for the lynch are:

Llama
Zombad
Russ
Epi

Vote for me if you will. But doing so will further strengthen and embolden the Kiras, and you won't get anymore of this:

A legitimate accusation would be one based on actual evidence and quotes, rather than blindly firing into the crowd and hoping your target flinches. The old, "I think he's guilty because he said I'm not guilty when I said he's guilty seems a rather unsophisticated tactic.

Re: Death Note Mafia [NIGHT 2]

Zomberella12 wrote:
Turnip Head wrote:
Zomberella12 wrote:Fine, lets all join together and lynch the Kiras. Any idea who they might be?
52 pages and this is where we're at :haha:
So these are the four people that we need to lynch in order to win:

Light Yagami (Kira) – The initial finder of a Death Note, Light is a high-school senior who quickly grows obsessed with power, declaring himself the ultimate decider of criminals’ fates. Determined to create a new perfect world without evil, Light will manipulate or kill anyone in his way. Has BTSC with Ryuk. (Secrets)

Misa Amane (Second Kira) – A famous model whose parents were murdered by a man that Kira kills with his Death Note, Misa becomes infatuated with Kira and makes desperate moves to meet him. She thereafter becomes Light’s girlfriend, incredibly complacent to his demands. Gains BTSC with Rem when she receives her Death Note.(Secrets)

Kyosuke Higuchi (Third Kira) – A very greedy and power-hungry man who becomes the owner of a Death Note if a certain chain of events occurs. However, little does he know he is no more than a tool in an elaborate scheme orchestrated by the original Kira. Each night, while in possession of a Death Note, he votes on a victim for Kira to kill, concealing the fact that he is actually the one deciding others’ fates. Higuchi cannot be lynched or night killed until he receives a Death Note; thereafter, even if the Note is taken from him, he can die. When he possesses a Death Note, all members of Yotsuba vote on a player to die every night, but Higuchi has a choice to override the player to be killed. However, if he does so, he risks the chance of outing himself to his fellow members. Each member currently alive has a 25% chance of learning Higuchi’s real identity every time a kill is overriden, with a 75% chance of instead receiving a randomly redirected result. When he gains his Death Note, he is offered the Shinigami Eye Deal. If Higuchi takes the Eye Deal, he can role check two players every night but he must kill one of those two players; this only applies if he overrides the kill selection. If Higuchi currently cannot kill with a Death Note or does not override the kill target, he cannot role check anyone. Because the Eye Deal cuts his lifespan, all votes against Higuchi in lynches will be doubled for the remainder of the game. If Higuchi refuses the Eye Deal, he still may change his mind and accept it later at any time.

Teru Mikami (X Kira) – As a devoted worshiper of Kira, Mikami has a strong sense of justice and feels evil absolutely must be punished. He adheres to a very strict, daily schedule. If a certain chain of events occurs, Mikami gains a Death Note. At this time, he is offered the Shinigami Eye Deal. If Mikami takes the Eye Deal, he can role check two players every night but he must kill one of those two players. If Mikami currently cannot kill with a Death Note, he cannot role check anyone. Because the Eye Deal cuts his lifespan, all votes against Mikami in lynches will be doubled for the remainder of the game. If Mikami refuses the Eye Deal, he still may change his mind and accept it later at any time. At some point, he gains BTSC with Kiyomi Takada. At this time, per Light's orders, he creates a fake Death Note. If Mikami is ever found by Near, Near finds the fake Death Note, delaying Near's capture of Mikami for an additional two cycles.

What should we look for?

Some common themes:
1) Greedy
2) Power Hungry
3) Obsessed with killing criminals.

Notes:
1) Light and Misa will have BTSC with other players (eventually).
2) Teru has a strict daily schedule whatever that means.
3) One of them killed LC.
Wow, is this good? It seems really really good. I think it is really really good.

And I am confused as well about Yotsuba. Do they need to be deaded for the detectives to win? And Kira wins when the detectives are gone (so says page 1) but what about Yotsuba for them. MP can you clear this up?

Also, I think that the time of the NK being controlled by the killer is a pretty cool aspect to the game. At least I am guessing that's why LC was killed now instead of during the night. In fact....if I were the decider, I think I would have them die in the middle of the day phase and MP would be posting about a NK at say 2:30pm and everyone would be like, "WHAAA?"
Unfeasible.

The host isn't online 24/7 to do this. No, I think Kira can kill either Day or Night. But not WHENEVER.

If you want canon, then Kira can control the victim right bef0

Re: Death Note Mafia [DAY 2]

Hey guys, back again! What's going....HOLY CRAP I'M GONNA DIE?!

Image

Epi and DH have an epic game of chicken that could have been ripped right from an 80s action movie, and Epi flinched. Epi became the target of attention because he never followed through with his threat to kill DH. Llama jumped in to deflect to Snowman with the airtight argument of "what's his deal"? Since then, he's expanded his anti-Snowman argument to include:

+ what's his deal?
+ I called him out, he saw it and didn't repond immediately
+ He hasn't posted since yesterday.

I hopped online last night, immediately recognized that I didn't have time to wade through the day's comments, so I made a quick "not a baddie" statement for the press, then hit the sack.

Now the argument expands to:

+ what's his deal?
+ I called him out, he saw it and didn't repond immediately
+ He hasn't posted since yesterday
+ He can't be as dumb as he sounds
+ Does he understand the word 'Bandwagon', because we accused him of hopping on one, and he didn't care (forgot to mention that one earlier)
+ He still didn't offer a convincing argument for why we should believe he's a civvie.

I'm unsure of what I might do differently if I were bad. I am sure that I'm playing a game, I guess I'm a more casual player than some, but I'm still willing to hop on once or twice a day share my two bits, use my power if I have one, vote, then rinse and repeat the following day.

Buuuuuuuut, it is a social deduction game. Maybe good civvies behave differently, if this were live, I'd be looking at faces and body language. On a bulletin board, we look at posts, and something about how I post strikes some as a Stone-Cold-Kira. I'm not disappointed, but I want to improve and better support my team in the future, while still having fun. Maybe one day I will earn the "Well, that's just him, he's always like that" status that Epi and Russ seem to benefit from.

Don't kill me guys, I've got a lot to offer. Llama's got it in for me, which is weird, and his circular argument of "I think he's guilty because I said he was guilty so I think he's guilty" doesn't hold water.

Or do, and I'll haunt you with my spooky red text.

Can you give me recap? I am still befuddled by this whole topic.
Gladly.

Boo had a long tirade about how we should lynch non-participants. He said it's not fair that people who post get lynched while people who stay silent get a pass. I lartgely agree with him on this.

I voted for Snowman, not for being a non-participant, but based on things he said.

Snowman came into the thread and saw that I voted for him and people were talking about him. He made a jokey post and left.

Boo said it was not fair to vote for SNowman, because he had not had a chance to defend himself.

Epi and I pointed out that this seemed to contradict boo's earlier stance. Disagreement ensued.

I asked how long boo would consider an ample chance to respond. He said he wanted to wait until the last possible moment for a rsponse before voting, which I felt did not entirely answer my question.

I pointed out that Snowman did have a chance to respond, since he posted in the thread after I voted for him. I asked if boo still maintained that Snowman had no chance to respond.

Boo refused to answer me, and voted for me instead.

I hope others consider this a fair representation of events as they occurred.
I. Have. Arrived. I'm gonna respond like a sonuvagun.

What am I responding to? I hate to be pegged a "non-participant", but I've been away less than 24 hours, and there's 10 pages of unread comments. I want to be well-read like all the cool guys, but I don't have a BTSC to help me sound out the big words.

I'm just holding on for dear life. I've even started my own spreadsheet, FZ will be so proud! Now I just have to figure out what a Penber is.

FWIW, I am a civvie. How do I prove it, I'll do that.

I wish Trice were still with us, he could explain how my night vote conclusively proves I'm Kira. Then Epi and DH will have a knife fight, and Rico will say something despondent that no one will respond to.

I'll offer my insight and contribute what I can, but I don't see the "discussion" coalescing around anyone in particular. All I see is argument ad nauseum around the D0 poll.

I'm happy to see so many involved, but how do you find so much to talk about when literally nothing has happened yet? The most earth-shattering event so far is the realization that Russ hasn't posted anything.
Waiting for a bandwagon to hop onto? :eye:

If you are bad, what's a clever strategy when you don't have BTSC with more than one person? Widen the net of potential bad guys maybe?
I think you may be bad for several reasons. Being purposefully obtuse being one of them, for example. Add to that your recent framing of my posts in a clearly false and flawed light, and the semblance of a case is there. ;)
Adverbs, dude.

And what posts are those?
hah, grammar burn :flamed:
Epi has a theory that the Mafia use adverbs more than civvies do.
It's not a theory- it's true, and it's neat because Mafia usually misunderstand it. GUILTY people use unnecessary adverbs more than innocent people. So now watch for people trying NOT to use adverbs and still looking clumsy. It's funny as hell.
Does it still work if you're fake-guilty? I mean, isn't everyone lying, either fake-guilty or fake-innocent?

Wait, what? I've been at work all day, what's going on? I should probably read those eight pages of super-long comments. I even tried to watch a little of Death Note, but I slipped into a boredom coma.

Ok, let's do this! Who's Kirin? :ponder:
