Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Day 7
That's it. I'm leaving. I'm going to represent some other site in the mafia champs finals! And I'm taking people with me. Well, at least, I'm taking a whole lot of sock accounts with me. OK?ObscureAllure wrote:Do people threaten to leave the site every game or is it just this game that's got people in a tizzy?
(In all seriousness, I can only presume it is because your return has people quivering in their boots with the fear that they will never be able to win again?)

Are there any restrictions in respect of the language that can be used in these messages? Are profanities in order if they are justified in the description of the sheer close-mindedness of a large group of clueless individuals?

OK, apparently it's Memorial Day tomorrow.
So, is extending this one day going to suit people? Or do I need to make it super-duper long?

Hey gang,
Admiral Adama here. Weird couple of days, huh? It's starting to seem like everyone is a cylon except for me, ya bunch of creepy space robots! Well listen here. I'm your Admiral, proudly so, and that means I have to take it upon myself to facilitate peaceful communication between the humans and the space robots. I require that everyone state clearly and publicly what the believe the allegiances to be of the following likely cylons: Epignosis, DrWilgy, and Glorfindel. This is a direct order, and know that I am giving it with the best intentions. No exceptions. Everyone must submit a response before the end of the day or I will be forced to take action with my rightful authority as Admiral. Thank you for your cooperation.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Night Six
DEMOCRACY IN ACTION
Everyone was confused. Who, exactly, had voted for Gaius Baltar in the elections? No-one could quite figure it out. Everyone denied it was them. Fingers pointed in every direction.
In fact, it seemed to be all that occupied their minds for quite some time. There wasn't much to do on New Caprica, after all.
A shot rang out somewhere - everyone heard it. They rushed around, trying to find what had happened. All they could find was a marmot, lying in a pool of blood. It had clearly been shot, but no-one could find the culprit anywhere.
Marmot has died. It is now Day Seven. You have 48 hours to catch you a baddie.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Day Six
THE SETTLEMENT OF NEW CAPRICA
"All ships accounted for" said Epignosis "That was a successful jump."
"I'm incredibly pragmatical that verticity postulatum has Thomas its precision Red Rook such anticlimax levant time" said ObscureAllure
"Why did you sink my floating zeppelin?" asked Vompatti, before storming off in a huff.
"Admiral" exclaimed JaggedJimmyJay "we've detected a planet close by. Our readings demonstrate that life is supportable in a temperate band surrounding the equator."
"Admiral" said G-Man "the nebula that enshrouds this system makes DRADIS contact difficult. The cylons would find it difficult to find us here."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The planet was named New Caprica, but the fleet were divided about whether or not the planet should be settled. Some in the fleet had begun to believe that Earth was a myth and that Adama had no idea where he was going. Others pointed at the fact that the new planet was mostly harsh and unforgiving and that surely they would find better planets for settlement.
In the end, all agreed to leave it to recently restored democracy. The Quorum of Twelve had been re-established, one representative of each of the former colonies, and a Presidential election was looming. The current President was campaigning on the platform of continuing on to find earth. But there was a challenger, and the challenger was campaigning on the basis of settlement of New Caprica.
The decision would rest on who was elected President of the Colonies.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gaius Baltar felt good about things. He had been unfairly maligned by many, seen as weak and rudderless. But here he was, President of the colonies, and he was not going to take any frak from anyone any more!
No-one has been lynched.
Gaius Baltar has been elected President of the Colonies. ALL previous laws have been repealed. Gaius Baltar has enacted a new Act - the "Gaius Baltar Immunity Act". Gaius Baltar is henceforth immune from all lynches.
It is now night 6. You have 24 hours to send in your night actions.

All you have to do is put "url=(the pasted link)" in the first tag and you have a linked post. Try quoting one of my posts with a link to have a look if you want to see how it's done.
Also, I do commend people for restraint in quoting spoiler tags lol.

Hi guys
I'm sick as a dog today and have decided to spend as much time as possible asleep.
I'm extending the day 24 hours as a result, just because I'd prefer not to have to make sure I'm around and awake at the right time.
I'll fix the poll accordingly - your votes shouldn't be affected.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Day Six
Some guidelines for everyone:
What can't you do:
You cannot talk about specific game secrets - including specific hidden role powers or specific hidden win conditions - except as set out below
You cannot talk about what night time powers or night time knowledge exist
You cannot talk about a specific perceived infodump from another player.
What can you do
You can talk about what you perceive motivates another player - that includes speculating on whether or not you think they are motivated by bts info generally (for example, "Dom's reads don't make any sense to me. I think it might be because he has info." )
You can talk about what win conditions you could see existing generally (for example "Perhaps different humans have different win conditions.")
You can theorise about what is going on in the game (for example "I think Dom might be hinting at being John Cavil." or "I think this could be explained through the use of role X's publicly available power" or "I think perhaps this could be explained by a power that does x" or "I think golden is an ass.")
PROVIDED THAT - you back these things up only based on things from the thread.

I don't want to be getting a whole lot of PM's asking 'was this an infodump?' - for one reason, because I can't answer them, and for a second reason, because it affects how people perceive the integrity of the game. It doesn't matter whether an apparent infodump is real or not. I have to take equal action for both, or else others will be able to imply that the info is true or false. The ban on infodumping is a ban on dumping ALL info, whether it is true or whether it is false.
So - heed me. No talk or speculation about night time actions, or else.

Hey team!
Someone or maybe multiple people seemed to misinterpret my last address as being pro-Cain? Didn't you folks hear all those coughs? Cain was a big meany and I'm glad to have my chair back. I have an admiral's chair right? I'd like one if not.
Nice job everyone for taking back control over your own liberty. There's still work to be done though, and since I'm in charge I'd like to make some suggestions.
I think sig is super suspicious! I think we've also distracted ourselves thoroughly in this whole matter of "everyone claim to be a cylon!". It has dominated our communication for too long. Let's get some suspects eh? Let's go already. Hurry up. Figure it out. If you think that's a valid and strong reason for suspicion then fine, build your case and air it publicly. But there needs to be more. There's more to the universe than that. It's really big.
Also, if anyone thinks I could be doing more good with these addresses then go ahead and say so! I welcome your constructive criticism. Don't waste too much time on it, maybe just one submission eh? Remember to respect customs and courtesies though, because I'm the big cheese.

THE MALAISE
Morale was at an all time low. Although many in the fleet found themselves pleased to be back under the command of Admiral Adama, that was all that was going right.
It had been many months since the attack on the colonies, and everyone had expected Earth to be found by now. Instead life was a distinct pattern of lack of sleep, lack of good food, constant colon attacks, a lack of discovering any decent ass-clues, and people were getting frakking antsy.
To top it all off, one morning when everyone woke up, they noticed that Spacedaisy was missing. She had vanished without a trace. No doubt some cylon had probably thrown her out an airlock while no-one was looking. This place was crawling with them.
Spacedaisy has died. You have 48 hours to figure out the party responsible.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Day Five
THE BALLAD OF DOCTOR WIGGLY
The fleet had arrived at a planet to consider its suitability for settlement. An advance party was sent to the surface of the planet to begin some essential scouting and testing.
“A weather system is emerging” said DrumBeats. “Wigly, please go and get the testing equipment.”
Dex was conferring with Admiral Cain about the best next steps. “Dex” said the Admiral “We need to get back to the ships and jump the fleet. This place is far too volatile for a settlement.” “Admiral” said Dex “Wilgly, he’s missing.”
“Never fear!” said Admiral Cain “I shall go and extract this Wliigy myself!”
The Admiral ran into the jungle “Willlgy? Where are you?” The Admiral searched, but Dr Wilgy was nowhere to be seen.
Just then, Cain heard the ships leave. Her orders to jump the fleet had been carried out. “WIGGGGGGGGGGGLY” she cried, as she was left to a brutal death with the elements.

“Has anyone seen Admiral Cain” asked Dr Wilgy, as he stood in the CIC of the Pegasus
Long Con has been lynched. He was Helena Cain. Martial law has been abolished. The order of admiralcy has been restored.
It is now night 5. You have 24 hours to send in your night actions.

You found no resurrection ship at F1.
Having searched every sector thoroughly, the Admiral has called off the search.

Dammit, I missed getting to participate in the gun to head reads exercise. Who wants to know my reads?
Sorry for being absent over the last couple of days. Life has really socked me in the mouth, but I'm catching up now and will be posting all the sorties etc. Some of you are also owed punishments for treason... I have not forgotten that.

I don't see where sig claimed. Claims need to be unequivocal. A claim that you are both a cylon and not a cylon will have no effect.
