Re: Watchmen [Day 5]

I'll roll out some tin foil at lunch. You can read anything you want into posts and perceived behavior- it's called overanalyzing. Did you learn nothing from taking me on in Economics? Sometimes people act strange for the simple reason that strange behavior keeps you in the game longer.

I personally do not have the time or energy to analyze posts as in-depth as you like to do. I wish I did but I just can't approach the game the way I used to. I went way too far down the rabbit hole in Biblical an I'm seeing where the limits are for my personal level of involvement.

MovingPictures07 wrote:I've been SO wrong before, so anyone who's seen any of my times I've railroaded and been wrong, should know that I should be hesitant to agree to G-Man's bet. I did so with no hesitation.
Oh, I have taken that into consideration. It initially gave me pause as to you being the last Inmate. But you don't strike me as someone who cares about having something silly in your signature. It's all in good fun and you can't be afraid to be wrong in this game or you'll never get far. You're either wrong and just extremely convinced you are right or you are the Inmate and trying to use reverse psychology on us because you are too far down the path to turn back now. I trust my technicolors this time- she's not the Inmate.

Re: Watchmen [Day 5]

MovingPictures07 wrote:Votes analyses can only get you so far.

Epignosis bussed DDL by being the first to vote for him on D1 in Guess Who?. It guaranteed him a victory. Elo hosted that game. She clearly is trying to change up her baddie style here, and she did so sloppily.
I realize that vote analysis can take you only so far. This time, I'm using it to exonerate someone instead of indict them. There's a difference. Epi and Golden tricked me good in Guess Who but there were four teammates and no serial killer in that game. Moloch is an unknown and there are 3 inmates. With numbers and rivals like that, I can't see the Inmates being as brazen and reckless as Guess Who.

Also, our terms are binding no matter the outcome of the game and regardless of whether Elo is actually lynched. While I am putting my bossy pants back on today, please know that I am not posting out of spite or bitterness. I'm saying all these things with a smile on my face because, for the first time all game, I am having fun.

You're on.

Now vote for her and prove me right.
I still have her pegged as a possibility for Moloch but I'm hunting for Big Figure today. I'm not interested in voting for someone who I don't suspect of being Big Figure.

Elo is the only one who hasn't posted since the Night Post. I wonder if Big Figure is allowed to kill and silence someone on the same night or if he just kills every night now that both his teammates are dead.

Well Big Figure clearly wasn't roleblocked, or juliets would be alive.

Maybe Bass/TinyBubbles was silenced, but TinyBubbles wasn't warned until after she posted? She did only post once, didn't vote in the Day 4 poll, and only just posted again for the first time in two days.
I was thinking along those lines, considering the missed vote. Do we know who all claimed to be silenced which days so far?

TERMS:

If you are correct that Elo is the final Inmate, I will post this in my signature:
I, G-Man, bet my mafia reputation against MovingPictures07's mafia reputation in Watchmen Mafia and I was wrong.
If I am correct that Elo is not the final Inmate, you will post this in your signature:
I, MovingPictures07, bet my mafia reputation against G-Man's mafia reputation in Watchmen Mafia and I was wrong.
And if you chicken out on this bet, I shall post this in my signature:

Re: Watchmen [Day 5]

MovingPictures07 wrote:You want to know why Russ isn't on my rainbow list anymore? He cast the FIRST vote for espers / ika during Day 4.
Yeah but espers came into Day 4 looking like a prime target, no? Great distancing opportunity. At this stage baddies get cut-throat with their own.

MovingPictures07 wrote:Guys, Elo is the last mafia. I'm sure of it. She's taking advantage of the momentum there is to vote for me, based on what DDL has been pushing, in order to lead a lynch on me. Her vote on D1 for Sloonei was clearly after seeing how Epi's vote succeeded for him in Guess Who?, and her sloppy distancing from Sloonei was real.

In fact, if you lynch Elo today and she comes back civilian, I implore all of you to lynch me immediately thereafter.
I really, REALLY wish people would stop making this kind of stupid comment. It pisses me off every time.

MovingPictures07 wrote:Guys, please read my ISO on Elohcin that I posted a cycle ago, if you haven't.

Pay close attention to her interaction with Sloonei. Now we know espers was a teammate, it's shown that espers voted for his teammate on D1. If Elo is mafia, she did as well. That Elo/Sloonei distancing seems BAD and sloppy, and consequently many of us were writing it off, but I think it should be revisited.

Her EoD D3 behavior made it clear to me that she's fabricating her reads, since she couldn't even cast a vote for anyone, nor could she name a top suspect.

For most of the game, she has considered me to be a strong civilian read, yet she voted for me on D3 nonetheless.

Now she conveniently has a revelation that I'm the last mafia, since DDL has been aggressively pursuing me as a suspect (at least his reasons are logical).

etc.

I want opinions. I'll stop spamming the thread now, sorry. G-Man will agree that I was due for a dogpeeing at some point.
But what you're doing to Elo doesn't taste like dog-pee. Long story short, her voting record strongly suggests she is not an Inmate. I've looked at her votes from all angles and I simply cannot see her as the final Inmate. You on the other hand, have a record that all but screams Inmate. I'll elaborate later. Hopefully that means before my lunch break.

MovingPictures07 wrote:Metalmarsh, I'm pretty sure we're seeing civilian DDL. If not, Moloch at worst.

I'd bet my mafia reputation that it's Elo.
I will take that bet, sir.

I felt like I was on the same wavelength as LC and DH, so I wouldn't mind seeing LoRab dangling from the noose today. But that's really going to depend on how the six of you I listed respond to me.

Right now I am curious about the absence of Cookie and espers. If Cookie is one of the Inmates, this would be the perfect time to silence her. Lynching someone who is incapacitated in some way makes people squirmy and uncomfortable. It doesn't always work but baddies love to take advantage of the compassion of others.
I just work from 6:00 AM until 3PM so I will never post between midnight when I go to bed until the next day at 3PM EST.
Thanks for the info. Between time zones and work hours, it's always good to have some idea of other players' availability. I tend to be more active while I'm at work.

Sure, didn't realize it grew into such a frequent tic.

I don't like the feel of typing EOD much, so I'll probably write end of day or Dx end.
I like Dx (or Dx Day). Dunno why, but that's rad.
Dx looks like it should be read as 'dicks' though. Then again, EoD is awfully close to ED, so I guess we're all a bunch of perverts.

I'm curious MM- why LoRab over Cookie? Is it just a case of LoRab smelling the worst?

Re: Watchmen [Day 3]

Ricochet- that actually makes a lot more sense now that you've explained it. No worries- you didn't leave enough to make a determination on you yet anyway. Take all the time you like. :)

I was admittedly torn on whether to add the reasons for votes to my technicolor lists or not. Over-reliance on raw data only gets you so far and my assessments from the technicolor lists lacked the context of each player's content. I'm not very good with reading people (at least not for the first three or four days) and I'd like to get better but I just don't have the time to commit to re-reading the thread and doing these ISO's every lynch cycle. I thought including the reasons might help add some context but you are right in that it can get subjective. I may drop the reasons from future lists but I will probably keep track of the reasons people vote in my spreadsheet in case anyone slips up in that area. Looking for and adding the reasons was more time-consuming than I thought too. Maybe I'm just too much of an in-the-moment player. Who knows.

Day 2 technicolor inside the spoiler tag...
Spoiler: show
DAY 2 RESULTS:

1. METALMARSH89 (MM89)<---Player = ???? (REASON: Not comfy voting any of the other 3)
2. GOLDEN (Timmer)<---Player = ???? (REASON: His posts re: Sloonei look bad; not feeling bad about other 3)
3. GOLDEN (Long Con)<---Player = ???? (REASON: Golden is the only of his suspects on the poll today)
4. GOLDEN (Cookie)<---Player = ???? (REASON: [came back well after vote] Not really sus of any of them)
5. GOLDEN (Dragon)<---Player = ???? (REASON: Golden looks worst of the 4; not sus of the other 3)
6. RUSSTIFINKO (G-Man)<---Player = ???? (REASON: Easy way out; avoiding Rorschach's hit list)
7. LONG CON (DH)<---Player = ???? (REASON: No initial explanation- further review needed)
8. METALMARSH89 (Bass)<---Player = ???? (REASON: least uncomfortable option; not really sus of others)
9. METALMARSH89 (Niju)<---Player = ???? (REASON: most sus of the 4 but even then not a strong sus)

6. RUSSTIFINKO (G-Man)<---Player = ???? (REASON: Easy way out; avoiding Rorschach's hit list)

7. LONG CON (DH)<---Player = ???? (REASON: No initial explanation- further review needed)

NOT VOTING:
espers<---Player = ????
MP07<---Player = ????
Ricochet<---Player = ????
Russtifinko<---Player = ????

What I infer from the votes:

-The three-vote run on MM89 was not a save attempt on Golden.

-Unfortunately, the circumstances surrounding this lynch make the data not very useful in the short term. If it was a legit power use by Nite Owl I or II, then their plan probably backfired on them. If it was somehow stolen by Moloch then it was a sneaky ploy and successful at derailing both discussion and progress for a day.

-Of those who voted for Golden, only Timmer and LoRab had much in the way of concrete reasons for doing so. Timmer at least mentioned that he thought Golden's posts re: Sloonei looked sketchy but he also said he wasn't very sus of the others. LoRab took issue with Golden's "I'm an important civvie- you guys will miss me!" comment. I can totally see why that would strike LoRab as fishy because it should strike us all as such. This time it was just civvie desperation though. LoRab had been leaning Golden's way for a while too but never had much to say about anyone else. So basically, Golden was lynched via getting the short end of the stick. Golden also had the most posts of anyone on the poll, so it's easy to see why it would be easy to construe his words as bad.

-MM89 had the second-highest post count of the four. Not surprised to see him coming in second, especially with his usual odd demeanor. His self-vote stands out as reckless but does it exonerate him from being bad? No. It could be reverse psychology / WIFOM. Why would one of the two remaining mafia members vote for himself? Perhaps he felt Golden was getting enough looks to take the rope instead of him. Bass and Niju both picked MM89 because he was the most sus of the four for them. Elo voted for him because his self-vote pinged her. From what I hear, self-voitng isn't out of the ordinary for Bass. Not sure what that might say about Elo. Golden voted out of self-preservation.

-Russtifinko didn't even show on Day 2. My vote looks odd, especially considering some of the things I said about Golden in my recap responses. That probably doesn't bode well for me unless you listen to what a few people had said in my favor. I think Sloonei cozied up to me for the credibility/setup combo meal. I'll remember that the next time I have a killing power. For the record- I will probably avoid voting in the majority this game to stay off of Rorschach's hit list. I will contribute to (or try to contribute to) a majority if I feel it is necessary to catch a baddie in a tight lynch.

-Long Con was mostly catching up Day 2. I like his thoughts on LD-gate. In fact, Long Con's line of thinking appeals to me very much. So much so that I'm half-afraid of trusting him too much. I don't want to be duped again.

Ricochet went all cryptic on us and then espers put one more vote on top of Sloonei's pile.
That should say "No one bit on MP07's points on Scotty."

I agree that he seemed to be trying to get around the LD with the way he worded it.
I think he has played enough to know that a lot of games people just come out say "I'm civ" and it's not consider info dumping or role claiming. I think there are two watchmen who we know can turn on the civves or need a civvie dead to win if I'm reading the roles right.
If anything, I feel like G-man's phrasing was an attempt to attract the lie detector (and this was my initial thought when I saw the post in question). I don't see how drawing obvious attention to oneself with a curiously-worded statement can be seen as dodging a potential lie detector. Does his phrasing, if we're gonna take it as honest, strike you as being one of ~2 nefarious Watchmen?
Also, who else are you looking at besides G-man?
Bass takes part in the lie detector discussion. Note that these two are Bass's only posts on the subject, he didn't respond to Sloonei's pushing it further. Sloonei's jumping on a rather trifling point seemed like nothing more or less than a way to fluff on G-man, a common talking point, and I think he'd probably be less willing to do that if he and Bass were partners.

What do you think of the adverb/smiley line of reasoning, both generally and as it pertains to me this game? What is your read on me right now?
Why do you care what people think about you right now? You asked Llama this same question.
Because I am a player in the game and I'd like to know what people think about every player in the game. I'm particularly interested in myself because I know my alignment and am a huge narcissist. I'll ask anyone to share their read of me if they acknowledge my existence.
What do you think of me, Bass?
Bass picks up on Sloonei asking others for reads on him - something I don't see as suspicious myself but whatever works. Sloonei proceeds to do the exact thing Bass had asked about, to Bass. not sure what to make of that at this point, anyone have any thoughts?

What is your gun to the head read on me?
Town. I like that you are asking me this question. It's bold and suggests you're being aggressive. Your posts feel more like BoB Bass than Economics Bass so far, and I hope you can continue to build on this.
I did feel like this post was a bit odd, though, since you've played with me a fee times now, and I tought you'd know that asking everyone a million questions was my bag, so you asking why I'm asking questions seemed a bit insincere.
I agree that asking questions is meta for you but you only asked Golden and Llama what they thought about you. I thought it was strange that you only asked those two people.
I read this more as Sloonei trying to appease Bass than a fabricated interaction. I doubt that Bass would directly engage Sloonei by asking him for a gun to head read so early if they were teammates, but I don't know Bass so comments from anyone with experience playing with him as mafia would be appreciated.

i'd like to take note here (and i'll probably refer back to it in future) that the day 1 vote was up in the air right until well after Sloonei left for the day; he was probably not anticipating being lynched, and thus he probably wasn't making efforts to create strong false connections so early. with that in mind, I think the two-way asking for reads of each other is a point in Bass's favour.
Bass_the_Clever wrote:I'm going to go ahead and vote Scotty. His buddying up to MP pinged me at first. MP pointed out that Scotty has been part of the discussion with out throwing out any of his own suspects. He also made a big deal about me voting late in B.O.B and he has yet to vote so I found that odd.
bass ends up voting for Scotty despite having called Sloonei's behaviour "off". This is a bad look, for reasons I don't feel like spelling out but should be obvious (this is already starting to feel too much like work :sigh: ). We don't know Scotty's alignment so it's not really worthwhile to speculate on whether Bass's vote had value in itself.

summary: despite a shaky EOD1 vote, I think most things point in favour of town Bass, particularly the way that both asked for reads of each other. slight civ read.
linki: hi G-Man. I haven't actually played games with Sloonei before (or if I have, it was years ago when I wasn't taking the game seriously) but I have hosted and/or observed a few of late so i'd say I have some insight into his meta. if anyone has questions or comments directed at me that amount to more than "the day 1 vote could be a bus" that'd be swell, i'd like to have things to respond to.
Okay, thanks espers. I wasn't sure if you had played with Sloonei before or not. Knowing that you haven't keeps you firmly as a neutral read after Day 1 then.

Re: Watchmen [Day 3]

Please note that these analyses are based off looking for the Inmates only. In my short time back in action, I don't think I've played enough games with serial killers (I'm assuming that's what we're classifying Moloch as) to get back in the groove of sniffing them out. This setup is very difficult because the typical mafia team (the Inmates) only has three members. Considering we caught one of those three members on Day 1, it is going to be very difficult to track the other two. We have to look for small patterns and vote sequences that might suggest a collaborative effort between two players.

Day 1 vote data is in the spoiler tag. Please look refer to it as you read over my assessments.
Spoiler: show
DAY 1 RESULTS:

1. TIMMER (Timmer)<---Player = ???? (REASON: RL keeping him out of game yet)
2. NIJU (Sloonei)<---Player = INMATE (REASON: wishy-washy on G-Man and hollow support of Llama)
3. NIJU (MM89)<---Player = ???? (REASON: No explanation given between vote #2 and #4- further reading needed)
4. G-MAN (LoRab)<---Player = ???? (REASON: Finds G-Man suspicious, no elaboration given- phrasing perhaps?)
5. SLOONEI (Niju)<---Player = ???? (REASON: Feels something is off with Sloonei)
6. ELOHCIN (Scotty)<---Player = ???? (REASON: Elo feels too light-hearted this game)

9. SLOONEI (Dragon)<---Player = ???? (REASON: [Given after he voted] Something off with Sloonei)
10. LORAB (DH)<---Player = ???? (REASON: LoRab making mountains out of molehills and calls BS on her assertion nothing is going on D1)

13. SLOONEI (Elohcin)<---Player = ???? (REASON: Some of his responses felt scummy)
16. SLOONEI (espers)<---Player = ???? (REASON: Not buying Sloonei's defense- something's off)

2. NIJU (Sloonei)<---Player = INMATE (REASON: wishy-washy on G-Man and hollow support of Llama)
3. NIJU (MM89)<---Player = ???? (REASON: No explanation given between vote #2 and #4- further reading needed)
12. NIJU (Golden)<---Player = CIVILIAN (REASON: Voted in a rush without catching up from earlier)

4. G-MAN (LoRab)<---Player = ???? (REASON: Finds G-Man suspicious, no elaboration given- phrasing perhaps?)
14. G-MAN (Russtifinko)<---Player = ???? (REASON: Always suspects Elo so he gave her a break & voted his #2)

6. ELOHCIN (Scotty)<---Player = ???? (REASON: Elo feels too light-hearted this game)
15. ELOHCIN (Ricochet)<---Player = ???? (REASON: "Impossible to fully address")

7. SCOTTY (Bass)<---Player = ???? (REASON: Buddied up to MP and not giving his own suspicions)
11. SCOTTY (MP07)<---Player = ???? (REASON: Had an a-ha moment on Scotty & his Elo vote was "weak")

1. TIMMER (Timmer)<---Player = ???? (REASON: RL keeping him out of game yet)

10. LORAB (DH)<---Player = ???? (REASON: LoRab making mountains out of molehills and calls BS on her assertion nothing is going on D1)

NOT VOTING:
Cookie<---Player = ????
G-Man<---Player = ????
Long Con<---Player = ????
What I infer from the Day 1 votes:

-I'm still not sure what to make of Timmer's self-vote. I like the warning about possibly pulling a Deborah but would he try that shtick again so soon?

-I'm inclined to believe that none of the first four voters for Sloonei are Inmates. Guess Who challenged this notion, but I believe once again that a team as small as the Inmates would not be the first to either raise suspicion of a teammate or vote in a way that threatens a teammate.

-There is potential for espers to be Sloonei's teammate and he wanted to or was encouraged to throw that final vote on Sloonei for the cred. I like what espers said about feeling something was off about Sloonei. They have played elsewhere before, right? Knowing meta is a powerful item on the tool belt, so I feel compelled to respect that. This leaves me feeling only neutral on espers, unlike the other Sloonei voters.

-The Niju voters are interesting. Both Sloonei and Golden voted for her, with MM89 sandwiched in between. Golden's Civilian status destroys any notion of a save attempt on Sloonei by way of voting Niju. The question is whether or not MM89 is Sloonei's teammate. I could see teammates voting early to build momentum on a non-teammate. It's a little dangerous with such a small team but they could do the smart thing by reaching a Niju vote from different directions. Sloonei said Niju was wishy-washy on the case against me and only showed hollow support for Llama. Going back, MM89 said he found Niju's apology for a long post a bit squirrely but he voted for her without a whole lot of suspicion on anyone. That's certainly two different approached- Sloonei by way of semi-concrete reasons and MM89 by more or less shrugging his shoulders and picking someone who at least pinged him slightly.

-LoRab's vote on me came before Sloonei picked up any votes. This is important because we should look for desperate votes after the Sloonei train picks up steam. LoRab focused on the LD issue in regards to my post. I already looked suspicious before any of that because I was more aggressive, assertive, and less playful than usual. Rather than trying to use the "he's different and that's sus" angle that had been mentioned, she comes at it from an angle with a unique twist by suggesting I was trying to evade the LD power. To let my tin-foil hatted hamster out of his cage for a moment, consider this: Both Sloonei vote and LoRab's vote came before Sloonei had any votes. Sure there was discussion but could it be that the two of them are teammates and they tried to divide and conquer by voting for two potential victims that could attract more votes. Unfortunately for them, any momentum for Niju and myself died down as the momentum on Sloonei ramped up.

-Russ's vote for me was crap but not crap enough for me to shift him off of a neutral read.

-The votes for players who had none by the time Niju voted for Sloonei is of particular interest to me. Once the pressure was on Sloonei, it would make sense for there to be some desperation. Let's look at each person getting votes:

-Scotty's vote on Elo doesn't bug me that much. I feel like I understood what he was saying, much to MP07's incredulity. However, Scotty's reasons for voting for Elo takes her back down a notch to neutral for me. In Econ, she was the serial killer but she came out too hard and got caught (even though we lynched her thinking she was mafia). Could it be that she is taking the opposite approach now that she has landed herself the role of Moloch? Again, I can't see her as an Inmate because of her tie-breaking, lynch-sealing vote on Sloonei.

-Ricochet's vote on Elo came with the statement that his vote was "Impossible to fully address" at the time. We need him back in here to explain that. He's neutral but his explanation will likely change that.

-Bass's vote for Scotty was the first after Sloonei picked up a vote. He accused Scotty of being a suck-up to MP07 and not putting his own suspicions out there. Sounds like a solid-ish justification on the surface but I have to be skeptical because I feel like I trust Scotty's thoughts. I'll give Bass a slight baddie read as being a possible attempt to set up a save attempt on Sloonei by offering up another possibility.

-The next two votes coming in were for Sloonei and I see nothing wrong yet with those two voters.

-Next up is a solo vote for LoRab by DH. I can't fault him for his reasons. I agree that LoRab tried to make more out of my post than was there. Still, a mid-stack vote for someone with no votes when there is already a 3-2 race going on can look conspicuously safe. For that reason, DH remains neutral.

-After this we have MP07 joining in on Bass's vote for Scotty. MP07 went from being cordial with Scotty, to asking a question or two, to doubting the sincerity of his contributions and the soundness of his vote for Elo. He openly agrees with Bass and then adds a few more points for other people to consider. This after his suspicion of Sloonei eroded bit by bit over the course of the day. In short, MP07 seems to have built a case on why Scotty is suspicious while also posting several points on why Sloonei probably shouldn't be suspicious. All this occurs as MP07 votes for Scotty, making it a 3-2-2 race between Sloonei, Niju, and Scotty. With Niju being NK'd by the Inmates, we know that MP07 adding Scotty to the mix wasn't an attempt to save Niju. Could it have been an attempt to save Sloonei?

-No one bit on Golden's points on Scotty. The next vote was Golden's vote for Niju out of haste and ignorance to what else had developed in the thread. That tied things up and Elo made a chipper post about tying things up. Russ came in to throw a lazy vote on me (though it could have been an attempt to avoid being part of the top two lynch trains). Ricochet went all cryptic on us and then espers put one more vote on top of Sloonei's pile.

I'll post some Day 2 thoughts at lunch. There won't be as many, as Day 2 was a lost day of sorts due to the limited poll options.

I'm not calling her a Civilian.

-The # is the order of that vote
-ALL CAPS NAME is the player receiving the vote
-(Name in parentheses) is the player casting the vote
-The <---Player = status refers to the voter (name in parentheses)

You only got a taste of this briefly in Guess Who, so I can understand why you might get it mixed up. Does it make sense now?

Re: Watchmen [Night 2]

So far I am the only member of the household who has not thrown up today but I did burn my arm good reaching into the stove for the hot dish I made for a family reunion picnic today. Trying to cool down and hydrate my daughter while my wife crashes on the couch.

I will try to get my vote analyses up before the end of the night phase. No promises though. :sigh:

Re: Watchmen [Night 2]

MP- I want to tell you right up front that I will probably not answer your questions/respond to your comments in that huge post of yours until Day 3. I have a limited window of time this afternoon and I intend to commit that time to reviewing Day 2 again and working on my vote analysis for Day 1 & 2. Technicolor takes time. I am not ignoring you. I just don't have time to bend over backwards for all the quotes/adjectives/answers/justifications/etc. that you require from me. I may even skip some things because going backwards for you prevents me from moving forward for the rest of the players.

As for my attitude, I fully own up to being a grouch. Part of it is that I've realized that I am struggling to maintain a healthy work/RL-to-game balance given the responsibilities set at my feet. Part of it is that I'm still pissed about losing that response post. For the latter, I realize that I need to Snoop Dogg & Elsa my bitterness. Yet another part of it is my frustration for not coming up with anything fun to do. It was a mistake to go back to STV G-Man mode but it's too late now. I'm giving in to the beast for the remainder of this game. I don't want you to think I am attacking you personally. I merely have a zero-tolerance policy for anything that seems sketchy.

Golden's recent posts are not very becoming of him and yet it also doesn't quite feel like baddie Golden. After getting schooled by him in Econ and Guess Who, this kind of stumble-fumble collapse doesn't feel right. Could just be an off game.

No real suspicion of Log Con yet and I am still a neutral read on MM.
Why is it an off game? I don't think there has been any stumble or fumble or collapse in my game.

Unless people want to hold me to a higher standard - the kind of standard in which being busy at work isn't actually allowed, and I have to be fully up to speed with the thread at all times. Which is, frankly, unreasonable.

The idea that I wouldn't be honest about exactly how my vote comes about is daft, because I hold a very public view that lying about stuff you don't need to lie about is the height of stupidity as a mafia, and that I always do my best to do exactly what I would do as a civilian. I don't do elaborate set ups like what I've been accused of. It reminds me of when I played in RYM86, which I'm not sure anyone else is around who was playing in that one, but I basically got lynched for being honest about stuff around the vote too.

I'm glad there is someone who voted russti. He would be my preference for a self-defence vote. He is the only person on there I have any slight suspicion of at all.
What I mean is that in those other two games I had no idea you were bad until the end. The fact that I think I see signs of your badness gives me pause. You're not a clumsy player so to think I see that doesn't make sense and makes me worry. It's almost too easy or convenient.

Re: Watchmen [Day 2]

Page 16- stopping my posts here. I'm going to read through Day 2 and vote. Looks like Day 2 was on the quiet side. That can't bode well for us. Expect one big response post tomorrow along with some vote analysis.
Golden wrote:

What bandwagon?

There were literally three people who voted that way - one was our known baddie.

One of the biggest pings I had yesterday was when MP called ninja the easy vote. What????? People like Ninja are NEVER the easy vote. People like me are the easy vote. People like sloonei, like llama, like epi... people like ninja do not get lynched on day one very often at all, and its certainly not an easy vote.
I have to agree with Golden here. Two consecutive votes doesn't make much of a wagon when the thid vote comes way later. If anything, it's as if Sloonei and MM tried to get momentum on Niju early but failed. I'm still up in the air on MM though, so don't take that the wrong way.

Fear not, MP. I will analyze Day 1 and Day 2 votes together. It will be glorious.

At this point, I'd say I'm highly likely to vote for Ninja today. The only other real issue I have is with G-Man, and I think I've talked myself out of that. I need to revisit the LoRab stuff about lie detectors more closely before I pursue that.
Golden pings me here, equivocating on Sloonei, and then pushing three other suspects. G-Man could be a Sloonei teammate based on this post.
Bwa-huh? How so? (This may eliminate that proposed Day 3 immunity)

I owe MP an apology- he did not bring up the STV-era LD stuff. Golden did. Sorry MP. I still am not a fan of you this game but I must admit that I wrongly accused you of culling up the STV-era LD stuff. It does make me wonder a tad more about Golden though. He brought it up but then backed off of it when others continued on with the subject.

P.S. Be careful searching for images of the letter G when kids are around. Oh yes, you get the pictures of things like 'G is for girl' and 'G is for garbage' with an Oscar the grouch from Sesame Street on it. But, G is also for G-sting. I saw a lot of butts during my search and even a penis too :faint:
Sorry, Elo. Having another man's wife ask me about my preferences is something that I'm not accustomed to. I see now that it was innocent in nature. And yes, image searching the letter G is more hazardous that one might suspect.

Wouldn't it be better to just read everything and then move to the current discussion? There is stuff that is going on and you're ignoring it by talking about stuff from 6 pages ago.

I'm saying this because the last player I saw doing this was coolkid in the champions game, that one that Turnip played. The guy was mafia. And he was always catching up, and making huge walls of text about stuff nobody cared about anymore.
Sorry if it bugs you, Dragon. I'm still bitter about losing that huge response post the other day. The stubborn blockhead in me is determined to accomplish what I set out to do. I'm up to page 15 now, so maybe I can just make one more gigantic post for the remaining pages. Ordinarily, I'd find it odd for a player to request I skip over commenting on game content but I understand your mindset. Plus, I want to get my thoughts out there because everyone's input matters. I may catch something that was overlooked by others and I want to recognize others who caught good stuff or try to make a point out of a load of crap. This is just my way of dealing with that lost post I guess.

Scotty, my bad, didn't realize you were unfamiliar with the terminology. OMGUS and NO U are essentially the same. OMGUS stands for "Oh My God You Suck", which was popularized in the greater mafia community, whereas NO U tended to be what was always used in my mafia history. It refers to when you respond to a case against you by turning around and suspecting the player that accused you, and is generally seen to be a desperate or suspicious tactic, particularly if the content of the rebuttal is suspect.
Ah, gotcha. Thanks for clarifying.

I'm turning on you in the past few minutes because of the manner of which you voted me. I'm not suspecting/OMGUS/NO U for Bass, because he's been actively attempting to come after me, which I think is a notable civ move. It's the wrong civ move, because I think his argument centered around "buddying" around you is rather weak (though it is Day 1. Everything's gonna be bloody weak). You've been waffling on GMan all day, and I guess were willing to latch onto whoever seemed the most tunneled. THAT seems like mafia behavior, tbh.
Ah, have to respond to this first, then I'm gone.

You know what seems like mafia behavior?

Spending all of Day 1 waiting. Waiting to see if anyone would no show. Not issuing a single affirmative opinion about any other player, despite posting considerably. Then voting for Elo, over an even lower poster, because of a "jokey" post and apparently because she ironically is one of the lower posters in the thread despite wanting to vote out low posters. Never explaining how that makes her mafia. Never explaining your thought process with transparency. Never answering my questions. Never explaining if you think Metalmarsh's behavior as "unhelpful" makes him either civilian or mafia. You still refuse to do that. Then you turn on me at the last minute merely because I caught onto your incredibly weak vote and explained all of this as to why I suspect you?

I didn't "latch" onto anything. If you think you were the most tunneled player on Day 1, you are severely mistaken.

I definitely think you're bad.
You know what else seems like mafia behavior? Turning your verbosity into a bully pulpit to demand responses from people who have lives and then using a lack of response to multiple questions as evidence to justify a vote. Not answering a question isn't always indicative of alignment. You should know better. I feel like I understood where Scotty was coming from but you required every detail to be spelled out for you in no uncertain terms. And if it isn't, well then that just shows how "bad" he is, right? Just because you like to write a book every six or seven posts doesn't mean you can expect the same out of everyone else. You set the bar so high when grilling someone that it is impossible for you to be satisfied. I feel like that is normal for you but this time it feels different and I'm going to keep calling you out on it every time I see it occur.

Until I find evidence to the contrary, I definitely think you're bad.

Bass_the_Clever wrote:Good job everyone. I knew something was off with him.

Indeed. There was a lot of crap shot into the thread Day 1.

The forum won't let me quote this because it quotes too many quotes. :p
Now I really need to go back and look at MM- I still have him listed as no concrete reason for voting Niju. I must have missed it leading up to the other votes.

Golden wrote:I'm working my way through now.

If I'd been able to catch up with the thread before voting, I would not have voted Ninja. Her subsequent posts were pretty good looking.

I probably still would not have voted Sloonei, although the stuff started by llama about how sloonei reacted to the case on him, and where even llama admitted the original case was silly, really did go back to my Aces in RR thing, and I appreciate llama successfully catching a baddie in that way.

With that said, at the point I'm up to now I think that my vote may have gone to timmer, the point of his approach to the game when deborah is something that rang true to me (I had forgotten timmer was deb).
A very good point from Golden the Coward ;) . I too will have to check back on Timmer when I have time.

I haven't engaged fully yet because today was the Stouffville Food Truck Frenzy, which Black Rock (my wife) and I attended with The Sandwich Shack. Last night was spent scrubbing several fifty pound bags of potatoes clean for our fresh cut fries. Went to sleep at 3:30am, and then got up at around 9 to take our kids to my mom's. I came back, and spent my day preparing for tonight. No time for sitting at the computer, or even doing any phone posting. I'll do some catching up now, see how the lynch went, and try to get some opinions formed.

Tomorrow is a little bit busy, in that I work from 11 to 4, and then I'm taking the opportunity to go to a comic book store and play some Magic: The Gathering - I usually work Friday evening and am unable to go to this Friday night event... so I'm going for it tomorrow. Tomorrow night will be Night 1's end, and Day 2 will begin. On Saturday, I will be sure to devote some time to this game and I'll give some opinions for everyone to judge, etc.

I did see MP's question to me about whether or not I was serious about not voting G-Man because of "fewest". Yes, I was pretty serious about that. I liked it, I want to be a grammar/spelling enforcer a lot of the time, but I hold back because people just don't like it when they get corrected. That doesn't stop me from enjoying a solid correction, especially when it was supported by that delicious Stannis Game of Thrones clip that I had forgotten about. The enjoyment I got from it was worth Day 1 immunity for G-Man in my books. Obviously, I ended up voting for no one, so it didn't matter much, but yes, it was a true statement. :)
For this post, I will not be voting for Long Con today.

What parts do you agree with and why? Does this mean you are suspicious of G-man? Who else do you suspect?
I agree that he seemed to be trying to get around the LD with the way he worded it.
I think he has played enough to know that a lot of games people just come out say "I'm civ" and it's not consider info dumping or role claiming. I think there are two watchmen who we know can turn on the civves or need a civvie dead to win if I'm reading the roles right.

His rationale about not claiming civ due to role claim restrictions does seem a bit odd, i'll give you that.
And I'll also ask for more suspects again. Who besides G-man are you looking at, LoRab?
"Does not pose a threat to the civies" does seem like the sort of thing a baddie would say, yes. Especially if they don't have a power that doesn't have a direct, negative impact on others.
I guess I should look at the roles again... but if all the baddies have "gotta kill the Civs" as part of their win condition, then every baddie who utters the line "I do not pose a threat to the Civs" would be 100% Detectable in their Lie.

I think Bass and Lorab (opinion stands as I read, maybe more will step up) are a bit suspicious for saying they think G-Man was trying to dance around the Lie Detector. His statement, in my opinion, is totally kosher as an easy Lie Detect option. If he's a baddie, then a Lie Detect will catch him for that statement, plain and simple.
This post may very well get you immunity from my vote on Day 3 too! :hugs:

I'm not sure what you mean?

I did not find Sloonei suspicious at all and I have no idea how someone picked up on his smiley's and adverbs and announced that was suspicious. I have also never played with him and don't really know how he acts. I don't know how many others have experience with him either. Well done! If I had been around for the voting, I'd have voted Elo, though.

Also, I had no idea I had to watch a video and I could see that Sloonei died but didn't know where it was posted LOL!
Golden's vote looks bad because he voted to tie Ninja Blooper with Sloonei. Could have been a baddie save attempt, but it would be a really transparent one, and I would expect better of Golden. Espers looks bad because the last minute final vote on Sloonei could have been a baddie underbussing a teammate.
Ah, thank you for clarifying and I agree with you.
I'm inclined to disagree with this- if espers has played with Sloonei in the past, then it makes sense that he would pick up on something being off with Sloonei. It's possible for his vote to be bussing but knowing someone's meta goes a long way. The only reason Golden's vote pings me is because he specifically stated that he hadn't even bothered to look at where the poll was at before he voted. To intentionally make that known feels like a preemptive defense.
