That's a very good point MM. The fact that you and MP07 supposedly could not speak or vote Day 6 suggests that two silence/vote-blocking roles were (and are) still alive. That could be both Big Figure and Derf or Big Figure and some secret shenanigans. That could be a point in Made's favor.

If the list is from Bernard, he's suspected almost everybody by now. Would he suspect himself? I've seen it both ways before. Some do, some don't.

Re: Watchmen [Night 6]

Anyone else intrigued that there was no kill Night 5 and the only player seemingly MIA during that time frame is now being replaced?

I also didn't see anyone come out strong against anyone Day 6 like I would expect someone to after blocking a player and there being no kill. Protection could explain it but it's almost too juicy to set aside. I'm trying really hard not to jump back into my "Where in the World is Keyser Freaking Söze" mindset but dang.

Re: Watchmen [Night 6]

My situation is this: because I have a knack for dreaming up intricate conspiracy theories, I can see any one of you as Big Figure based on your voting record. I believe I've hit the same point I did in Economics Mafia where I was right on two or three times in a row but then sucked at sniffing out the last baddie. Come to think of it, that happened in Biblical too- I kept trying to find the most sinister baddie plot and make it sound like the most likely option (this was all after death though- Golden can attest to it). It seems my usefulness has reached its limit.

Note to self: Stop trying to find Keyser Söze and start looking for Joe Blow Baddie.

Hmmm. indeed.

GMan, any luck on your cipher?
Sadly no. I'm probably not allowed to talk about the specifics of it. I think I know (generally speaking) how I'm supposed to crack it but when I try to decode it the way I think I'm supposed to, it's just more gibberish. If I was good at deciphering codes, I'd probably be more frustrated. I'm more of a logic puzzle person, so I'm not sweating the fact that I can't figure it out.

Scotty- do you think you're likely to get killed tonight or lynched tomorrow? I personally see no reason for you to be lynched, so I'm assuming you think Big Figure will come after you.

What I find interesting is that you got on board with MP07's theories after you were rezzed even though he went after you Day 1 for what I though was a very unsound case. Not saying it's suspicious though. I'm just dying to know why you got on board with him after he tried to railroad you.

Linki @DDL: I'm not sure how that would help us out? If MP knew Bernard's role and tracked Elohcin to visit Bernard, wouldn't he consider the possibilities of who could have visited Bernard? Maybe he just tunneled, but he did bet his mafia reputation on it (whatever that means).
I don't see how it helps us either, but there's nothing bad about speculating.

Actually, the fact MP bet his reputation would make more sense if he had night info and thought the probability of that info being wrong was too low (and in this case it probably was).
I think MP07 just said he'd bet his reputation on Eloh being bad to be dramatic. It's probably not the first time he's said it but it might be the last. I just happened to be in a snarky enough mood to call him out on it because my spreadsheet suggested otherwise by a long shot. Depending on the type of tracker Epi used, it's possible he tracked Eloh and misinterpreted the result. As a tracker though, you have to be aware of the other roles that might lead you to such a misinterpretation. I think he let thread content and player reads/vibes get in the way of his understanding of the role mechanics.

I looked up tracking and it does not learn the role of the target, but what they do. I was sorely confused on that point.
So I'm curious if and when MP tracked Ehlo that would give him info that led to her demise? Maybe she did something that night to the target that died? That would make sense, right? So maybe she sent back her info to Bernard and Bernard died that night? I don't remember seeing Bernard post recently, so that would make sense for MP to tunnel.
Sorry Scotty, I'm used to the first variation on the tracker. The vanilla tracker approach is you get a yes or no answer on whether they used a power on another player (in general). I think that original iteration of tracking was too vanilla for the folks at LP, STV, TP, and RM. I could be wrong here because each host is different. But that is how I've always encountered and used a tracker.

That makes no sense.

1- You are assuming the detectives bothered to track you.
2- That the other detective is alive, or was alive long enough to track you.
3- That a negative result on a track targeted at you would be a proof that you are a civ. It's not, because for most of this game there were two possible mafia killers.
Maybe I was just never close enough to the top of his list to warrant a check. He sure seemed to mention me quite a bit.

The only tracker I've seen is where you follow a player, and find out who they visit, but not a power they use.

But MP went after Elohcin Day 5, so if he learned anything it would have been from Night 3, or Night 1.
Interesting. I know Watchers get vague info on who visits the target but not specific powers used. Trackers were always a higher degree of specificity. That's how I used them in games at least.

Also, had he flipped Big Figure, I had this waiting in the wings:

What message? I think it's the second time I'm hearing a player receiving some "info" he has to crack during the Night, after Eloh.
I received it Night 4, and used it to inform some of my reads. I'd like to think it's Ozymandias giving us hints.

Otherwise, we're just being duped by the magician.

Elo received a message Night 3.

Right now I'm just trying to figure out how the cipher works.

As for the rest of the game goes... I find myself unfortunately fixated on MP07. I feel very strongly that he is Big Figure given his D1 shift on Sloonei, the way he subtly criticized a few votes on espers, and his bet with me. I think he made a cheater's bet- he knew he was going to lose it when I called him on it because losing the bet makes him look bad and allows him to act all contrite and tail-between-the-legs. That outcome and ensuing behavior should, in theory, give us pause.

I realize, however, that I often try to come up with the most evil, underhanded, and complex theories possible due to my overactive imagination.

I don't really know where to look after him. That will require some time re-reading a few people and further analysis in my spreadsheets.

Dragon mentioned something similar at one point. There's just something about your posting that doesn't feel authentic this game. It's like you're playing to your meta. You're posting the right amount of content for civ MP07 but when I read your posts, they don't feel genuine. Case in point, your cases on Scotty and Elo were easy for me to tear apart in my mind. I don't know that I've seen that from you yet in a game. Hard to say if it is external factors affecting your game or if I've sniffed you out.

That's half of the remaining players at this point. He has to track on odd N AND kill on even N, which means he can only use it roughly two more times, at best, in this game. Of course, it would suck for any of his victims to turn out a civ (needing to have stayed alive, that is), but overall I'd say Rorschach is way over his head right now, rather than a ferocious shadow predator. Him not killing on N4 means for me he was either blocked or already dead.

Are you planning to keep refraining from voting on the majority train, no matter what, G-Man?
Even if we lynch both Big Figure and Moloch, I would think it would then come down to civs vs. Rorschach. Could the civs win if they outnumber him? I guess it's possible but that would be like telling Rorschach he doesn't have the right to earn his win.

As for refraining from voting majority, it will depend heavily upon who is on the chopping block. I've already stuck my neck out 1.5 times, so it's not out of the question.

I hate mafia teams in recent games I've played. They always take the easy way out. Actually earn your win, don't chicken out by killing off someone you know you can't lynch. That's pussy play.
The only thing I am guilty of is avoiding being part of a majority vote so I can avoid the wrath of Rorschach. Half of the remaining living players are now on Rorschach's hit list though I wonder if he's still around. Unless he was blocked, I was expecting to see him kill someone Night 4. He could have been merciful but does that mean he can win with that player or will he need to circle back around and kill them later?

As for your comments on the mafia, this game is all about opportunism. Sure, we can call it cowardly or any other adjective we like but the fact is that baddies always have to be rat finks and carefully eliminate their threats. Otherwise, what's the point of playing? Be careful making bold statements like that because you'll make a hypocrite of yourself the next time you're a baddie.
Llama may have been Rorschach. That explains his early attempt at baddie hunting, and the resulting success.
Maybe it's the detail-oriented host in me but I can't see Llama as Rorschach because Rorschach's journal was used to announce the Day 2 lynch and Night 2 NK. Llama died Night 1. I guess it's possible that Epi just has a variety of posting methods built around the game's theme but I am a Chekhov's Gun kind of guy. I think that those posts imply that Rorschach was still alive at that point.

Metalmarsh89 wrote:Don't forget that Dr. Malcom Long can remove players from Rorschach's death list as well.
I had forgotten about that. Hopefully he's still plugging away at it.

I know your pain. :noble:
Scotty wrote:Note thAt this is the last read GMan has on espers before voting him, even though he had like 5 other people on his radar for more suspicious reasons. But he votes espers not because espers is bad but because he wanted to "save DH". Like 4 more people voted after GMAn in that last 10 min, so it wouldn't be a stretch to assume that he assumed there would be more votes thrown in other directions. DH had a healthy amount of suspicion, after all. And by tieing the vote at 2-2 it at least have him cred in case espers flipped bad.

Where as LoRab essentially votes espers out in Day 4, where she could have tied it, GMAn just tied it on a person he had a neutral read on anyway. Weird voting but again looks good for him if espers does get voted out and flips. Espers was leaving after the vote anyway, so what better time to appear civ
I had no inside information on either DH or espers but DH was saying things that made firm sense to me. Seeing him in the lead on the poll that close to the end was unconscionable to me and I wasn't about to add a vote to myself to save DH. My vote on espers was all about protecting a player I thought was good. I took a stand but it wasn't enough.
Scotty wrote:GMan votes LoRab. LoRab had some healthy suspicion at this point, but note that GMan did not just vote to save someone like he said day 3. Crap I'm out of time.
 I haven't voted for LoRab at all this game. I'm confused.

Personally, I think we should revisit this gem because part of me wants very much to believe that MP07 is trying to pull the biggest swindle I've ever seen.

TIN FOIL READ ON MOVINGPICTURES07:
D1: 11th vote overall, 2nd vote for Scotty. Talks up suspicions of his teammate early and then slowly backs it down with detailed posts on why Sloonei isn't so suspicious after all. It's subtle defense hidden behind personal observations and reasoning. In theory, he shouldn't get called out on back-tracking on Sloonei because he provided oh so much evidence to support his waning suspicions. He then latches onto Bass's suspicions of Scotty and posts a very detailed theory on why Scotty must be bad. See that? He subtly defended Slooeni while trying to stir the pot on Scotty- both times using his big-talker meta as a shield for his wicked intentions. His vote for Scotty has it 2-2 between Niju and Scotty and just one vote behind his teammate. All he needs is one or two followers to take the bait and get then he can castigate them for their votes after the fact. Too bad no one bit. Possibly silenced himself because that's what baddies do when they think they can get away with it.

D2: Misses the vote. He was silenced and couldn't vote but he wastes his silencing because he's not even on the poll so it doesn't build any sympathy for him whatsoever. Maybe he even encouraged espers to skip the vote because- hey, no Inmates on the poll so why even stick our necks out with a vote?

D3: Keeps his teammate in his top tier of suspects and waits until almost the last minute to vote. Why? To see if espers needs his help. He knows he can't vote DH without getting called on it so he votes sideways for one of his other suspects, using Cookie's rough game against her. He tries to pump up the "Cookie is bad!" wavelength something fierce but no one bites. He gets lucky because espers survived the lynch poll tie. Now he needs someone new to rail against alongside Cookie and decides now is the time to use Elo's odd play this game against her.

D4: 9th vote overall, 3rd vote on Cookie. His vote brings Cookie within 1 vote of tying espers/ika. Despite a lot of agreement that espers/ika is bad new, he caves and falls back on Cookie a second day in a row. It's designed to look consistent though because she doesn't look so great and was in MP07's suspect list already. After the flip, he goes hard at pushing his Elo case. He silences her Night 4 and stirs the pot early by voting for her amidst his verbosity. It attracts a second vote before anyone's realized that Elo has been possibly silenced.

I'll spam your ass like Rob Soloway
If you vote Elo, I'm looking your way
Word to your mom- my spreadsheet's the bomb
I got more rhymes than BoB's host Dom
And just like the Prodigal Son I've returned
Anyone betting with me- you'll get burned
'Cause I got stats but you ain't got none
If you come to battle bring a shotgun
But if you do you're a fool, 'cause I duel to the death
Trying to step to me you'll take your last breath
I got the skill, come get your fill
'Cause when I place my vote, I vote to kill

Re: Watchmen [Day 5]

TIN FOIL READ ON METALMARSH89:
Spoiler: show
D1: 3rd vote overall, 2nd vote on Niju. Trying to capitalize on early suspicion of Niju and helping a teammate start a train. Kind of like the Spanish Inquisition, nobody expects the baddies to vote together by way of starting an early train. Possibly silenced MP07 for (pick any reason).

D2: 1st vote overall, 1st vote on MM89. He's playing mind games with us by self-voting on a day when no baddie in their right mind would self-vote.

D3: Missed the vote. Having a devious vote history already, he screws with us even further. Or it was a legit miss.

D4: 1st vote overall, 1st vote on LoRab. Continues his streak of voting early because early votes are harder to analyze. Sees LoRab still floating as a suspicious player and tries to offer up an alternative to espers. Ika does him no favors when he does what he does.

Re: Watchmen [Day 5]

MovingPictures07 wrote:Then, regarding her espers vote on D4, she only cast it after espers's behavior was being called suspicious by the entire thread. I can pull quotes again if you want. Anyway, her vote for espers was actually the LEAST risky move that a teammate could make at that point. It would be much more risky throwing off (like G-Man did onto MM) or casting a vote on LoRab or Cookie, since she could have tied it up, saved espers again, and then once espers eventually flipped, she would have been seen as saving a teammate.

The way she cast the espers / ika vote on D4 was actually brilliant, since it's exactly the move that is currently securing her in everyone's minds right now as NOT an Inmate, but remember that espers had the most votes, tied with DH, on Day 3.

What would have been TRULY risky for her to do would have been to cast that 3rd vote for espers on D3 and sealed his fate then. If she had done that, there's no way I'd be proclaiming her as bad right now, and I'd be in total agreement with you, DDL.

But she didn't do that.
And yet, despite the "entire thread" calling espers/ike suspicious, you flinch and vote for someone else for the SECOND DAY IN A ROW!

You're angry, you're desperate, and you're flailing. You may not be either the inmate or Moloch but frankly, you're not helping and need to be eliminated from this game. I am very strongly leaning towards voting out you and your outbursts. Something feels off about you and has almost all game. I want to believe that it's just the PhD work.

Re: Watchmen [Day 5]

It's still early to be doing this but given MP07's relentless push on Elo today, I feel it necessary to examine everyone as if they were the last Inmate. That means it's time to apply a little...

Here is a link back to the most up-to-date technicolor vote lists.

TIN FOIL READ ON COOKIE:
Spoiler: show
D1: Missed the vote. Could be a legit miss or she could have been encouraged by more experienced teammates to skip the first vote because it screws with vote analysis. Possibly silenced MP07 because the thread was growing to quickly to keep up with and he had the most posts.

D2: 4th vote overall, 3rd vote on Golden. Let's face it- Day 2 was shit. Very few people suspected anyone on the poll that seriously. She could have joined an early vote train because early votes won't be analyzed as much and Golden already looked the worst of the four from his posts so it's an easy cop-out vote.

D3: 4th vote overall, 2nd vote for DH. Duh- why not take a chance on saving a teammate? DH wasn't considered a super-civ, so her weak case on him and partial passing the buck off to DDL's reasons just make her look like a foolish voter that day.

D4: 4th vote overall, 2nd on espers/ike. Simple strategy. Espers/ika looked terrible coming into this day, so vote for your teammate early to plant doubt in everyone's minds about you.
TIN FOIL READ ON DRAGON:
Spoiler: show
D1: 9th vote overall, 3rd vote on Sloonei. Bold move to bus a teammate as the tide is turning on Sloonei. Niju was the only one with 2 votes at that point, so it makes him really, really good. There were four other people with 1 vote already, so it's almost to devious to be believed. Possibly silenced MP07 because he's seen the sock in action and knows it will 1) slow down the thread, 2) kill conversation, and 3) drive MP07 crazy.

D2: 5th vote overall, 4th vote on Golden. Same as Cookie- easy vote for someone no one is super strong about and who also happened to have some cranky posts the night before.

D3: 2nd vote overall, 1st vote on DH. Protecting a teammate and scared of DH because he's showing signs of being on the ball. DH wasn't thought of as super-civ yet, so it wasn't hard to throw together a compilation of shady posts to justify a vote.

D4: 6th vote overall, 2nd vote on LoRab. LoRab's got some heat today, so it looks both consistent with the rest of the LoRab shade instead of seeming like a save attempt. This vote tied LoRab, espers/ika, and Cookie at 2-2-2.
TIN FOIL READ ON ELO:
Spoiler: show
D1: 13th vote overall, 4th vote on Sloonei. Putting a teammate up by one is great reverse-psychology. Anyone voting to bring another player up to tie Niju with Sloonei or to keep a 2-vote player close to Sloonei now looks like the baddie instead of her. Possibly silences MP07 for the same reasons as Dragon.

D2: 10th vote overall, 4th vote on MM89. She knows Golden isn't an Inmate, so joining the late MM89 train is safe. Before Golden flips civ, she looks like his teammate helping to tie Golden & MM. After the flip though, it looks completely harmless.

D3: Dodges bussing another teammate by voting sideways for someone who has enough suspicion for it not to look too obvious.

D4: Make up for her D3 vote by doing to espers/ika what she did to Sloonei- vote to give that 2-vote lead. Who, oh who could be so heartless yet so devious and brilliant? Espers looked bad and ika did nothing to improve the situation anyway. Only a chump or someone overconfident in their abilities would vote for anyone but their teammate here.
TIN FOIL READ ON G-MAN:
Spoiler: show
D1: Misses the vote. Could be legit or it could have been planned because he's mentioned before about how missing a vote is a great way to screw with vote analysis. Especially in speed games. Possibly silences MP07 because he's a jerk like that.

D2: 6th vote overall, 1st vote on Russ. He's not on the poll, so why should he give a rip who he votes for. Votes off of the top two to avoid Rorschach without catching much flak from other players.

D3: 5th vote overall, 2nd vote on espers. A bold choice. Sticks up for someone he knows will flip non-Inmate. If DH flipped Moloch, it's okay because Moloch has no teammates. If DH flipped civ or watchman, total cred boost. Also a bold choice because no one would suspect him of voting a teammate if/when espers flips Inmate.

D4: 12th vote overall, 1st vote on MM89. He's got cred for voting for espers D3, so avoiding the top choices D4 helps him keep up the charade of being scared of Rorschach. It wouldn't make sense for a baddie to vote a teammate one day when it's close but not the next day when said teammate looks terrible.
TIN FOIL READ ON LORAB:
Spoiler: show
D1: 4th vote overall, 1st vote on G-Man. Trying to capitalize on the D0 suspicion of G-Man while also offering a second choice besides Niju for people to mull over. Possibly silences MP07 because he talks too much and it's no fun catching up.

D2: 11th vote overall, 5th vote on Golden. Really ballsy choice to vote to force a tie (because Golden was bound to vote MM89). Does it for the WIFOM- why would a baddie intentionally vote in a way that looks suspicious?

D3: 3rd vote overall, 1st vote on G-Man. Votes here to remain consistent and also to test the waters to see if G-Man is worth pushing on D4. Obviously doesn't want to see her teammate go down before looking too bad either.

D4: 11th vote overall, 5th vote on espers/ika. It only makes sense to vote out a flailing teammate. She looks even better for being the nail in the coffin.

...and now I have work to do. If I finish early, I'll be back before 4:30. Cross your fingers! I love tin foil reads. They're fun.

Bullshit. I'm nowhere near the level you reached in Econ. Remember- none of what I say is mean-spirited. I'll rip your post apart soon enough.
MovingPictures07 wrote:You owe me a gigantic "you were right" when Elo flips mafia.
It won't be necessary because she's not the Inmate. Even if she were, I wouldn't be able to give you a gigantic "you were right" because the forum settings won't let me post anything bigger than a huge "you were right".

Sometimes people act strange for the simple reason that strange behavior keeps you in the game longer.

I personally do not have the time or energy to analyze posts as in-depth as you like to do. I wish I did but I just can't approach the game the way I used to. I went way too far down the rabbit hole in Biblical an I'm seeing where the limits are for my personal level of involvement.

MovingPictures07 wrote:I've been SO wrong before, so anyone who's seen any of my times I've railroaded and been wrong, should know that I should be hesitant to agree to G-Man's bet. I did so with no hesitation.
Oh, I have taken that into consideration. It initially gave me pause as to you being the last Inmate. But you don't strike me as someone who cares about having something silly in your signature. It's all in good fun and you can't be afraid to be wrong in this game or you'll never get far. You're either wrong and just extremely convinced you are right or you are the Inmate and trying to use reverse psychology on us because you are too far down the path to turn back now. I trust my technicolors this time- she's not the Inmate.
G-Man, what you say here is ironic, but it's fine. If you want to trust your list, so be it. But you're missing valuable information and that information is exactly what led Elo to make said votes, i.e., her posts.

I'm not "reading into" anything. In fact, that's what led me to have her in the top of my mafia reads before (instead of at the bottom), because I was figuring "Oh, Elo wouldn't do that" and other such statements.

When you take Elo's behavior at face value, you get someone that:
- D1: Suspected Sloonei for vague reasons after I and others applied pressure to Sloonei
- D1: Backed off of Sloonei suddenly, once I did so, and suspicion for him seemed to dry up
- D1: Voted for Sloonei once Sloonei already had a few votes and suspicion was heavily in his direction again, thanks to Llama

- D2: Opportunistic vote for MM because she "hates" self-votes, even though she previously said she suspects Long Con, yet never gave substantiation

- D3: Cast a vote for me, despite multiple iterations of believe I'm civilian, even in response to me questioning her AFTER the vote
- D3: She said that, with a "water gun" to her head, she would have voted G-Man
- D3: She claims she was just "messing with me", yet I could have easily died that lynch, since the player who died only had 2 votes
- D3: She refused to vote for her teammate, espers, this is key since espers didn't die only because of a COIN FLIP

- D4: She says "LoRab is one of the last two baddie members"
- D4: She votes espers / ika ONLY AFTER it is incredibly apparent that ika is going down, before that she does not show any intention to vote for him

These statement are NOT reading into anything. They are NOT tunneling.

They are facts. If you don't believe me, read her posts for yourself. If you think I have misrepresented any of them, please let me know. I have read all of her posts ISO twice now and firmly believe I have not.

I'm out of the thread now. I've made my case. Elo is mafia. Read her posts for yourself and make up your own mind.
