Clever trick putting themselves all at the Beach. They got lucky that the other Beach folk were so quiet. They blended in there perfectly. We brutalized each other in the Hatch. This is probably the most shame I've felt in a loss in a very long time.

Can't say I'm surprised. I set out to make Ana Lucia as irritating and unlikable as she was on the show. Now, as with the show, few will be very broken up about it. Fun game while it lasted. Way to throw a surprise mechanic at us, Golden! Good stuff.

Coincidentally, I checked the master spreadsheet. If you've hounded me in games we've played together here, you were either setting me up or wrong. I've yet to be a baddie in a game we've played together on the Syndicate. Much of my knowledge of pre-Syndicate interactions is hazy and limited at best.

Re: Lost Again Mafia (Season 2) - Night 1

Calling out players who seem to be doing more roleplay than gameplay isn't hypocritical. It's an observation. Don't like my observations? Do something different. I'm roleplaying like a mofo but I'm working it around my gameplay.

I don't keep mental tabs on everyone. I don't know how certain names stick in my mind, but they do. I know we go back (were you Sorsha or another name back on STV?) but I don't remember much beyond that. Nothing personal. My brain can only hold so much information at once.

Don't try to paint me as the fun-killer. Been there, done that, poisoned the community. That's not my intent nor what I am doing.

Re: Lost Again Mafia (Season 2) - Night 1

Coming at you with my pre-vote madness ISO thoughts. I plan on reading the full Day 1 to see how my opinions may or may not shift after digesting the events leading to Soneji's lynch.

This is broken into five categories: Good, Semi-Good, Neutral, Semi-Bad, and Bad. All names are listed in approximate best-to-worst order.

GOOD
Spacedaisy- Her reversal on me in this post was stark. She even seemed to lean in my direction. There wasn't any firm case against me outside of bashing my theorizing, so for her to adopt this stance as a baddie doesn't make sense. There's sidling up to LHF and then there's what she did. Too loud and visible to register as a baddie for me.

Elohcin- The start of her game confused me a little because it seemed haphazard and directionless. But this is a good thing, I think. Sure, she's undoubtedly tinkered with her baddie game by now but she didn't come off in a way that struck me as too agreeable, which is a quality I've spotted in her baddie game the last couple times. She's thinking for herself without letting her thoughts run away with her.

SEMI-GOOD
Quin- I just saw Quin all but clean up as a beast of a baddie in Mad Max but I liked his tone at first. He was curious and just a little confused. He prefers to not have information and he reads like someone who doesn't know much about the game. That's not easily faked but I'll keep looking for any signs of deception.

Soneji- He took a pretty direct approach to things and held fluff to a minimum. I like that. I didn't know that was his normal approach to the game. I've been in two games with him (Turf Wars & Spirited Away) and only one of those games featured direct interaction.

Insertnamehere- He was scratching around at things early on instead of coasting or getting silly with roleplay, asking questions about the game and open to game-relevant discussion. It can be faked, but it seemed genuine enough at the time, despite a small number of posts. More reading required on this one.

Scotty- He's busy and hasn't posted much but for some reason, my gut steers me off of neutral for him. Maybe that's just because he's Sawyer.

NEUTRAL
DFaraday- Low post count that skewed heavier on roleplay than relevant. He was coaxed into reaching for some LHF in Eloh. It's possible I have him and Rico mixed up. Hard to say whether a baddie is the first to suggest LHF or the first to warm up to it.

Epignosis- He's got Kate down to an artform. He's here but not very useful. I'm keeping him here because I have a tendency to auto-sus him.

Dom- I would have placed him in my semi-bad reads save for this comment. That's the kind of comment that comes back to haunt you if I do get killed. Otherwise, his content was lacking and it seems he wasn't paying much attention to the rules. Sick player coasting on Day 1 or slick baddie going under the radar?

SEMI-BAD
MovingPictures07- He had very few posts by the time I did my ISO's and he didn't contribute anything beyond suggesting Daisy was civvie, which I agree with. His post count exploded after that, so I will have to do much more reading to re-calibrate my stance on him.

Ricochet- Lots of pointless roleplaying early on. He only broke that roleplay to reach for LHF in Eloh (and later me). She's an easy target early in games because she's gotten busted once or twice early on recently. I can understand that he's busy hosting a game of his own but for someone who claims he is 10% invested in this game, he's doing alright in the post count.

BAD
Sorsha- Getting LRD vibes from her use of roleplay to coast through most of Day 1. Check her ISO- her first post with anything game-relevant in it came after I threw shade at her and voted for her. Why wait until the final hour of the day to engage? She mentioned not being good at Day 1's. I can sympathize with that's no reason to coast. Also, if any civvie-seeming role could go rogue in this game based on the show, it's Michael.

Can't say I disagree with you there. It's possible that one of the baddies (assuming a 2 or 3-member baddie team exists) would wait until later to claim a location. Then again, they could just make sure to split up early-to-mid day and see which prospects come to either baddie member's locale. We're split pretty evenly right now, so if they split up, then they'll be able to kill whoever they want tonight without much danger of being outed too soon.

On Day 1, they probably won't be too worried about strategy just yet. These short games are notorious for civvies cannibalizing each other early on.

Re: Lost Again Mafia (Season 2) - Day 1

Crazy Theory #1: Charlie, Kate, and Sun were all cover identities for baddies in Season 1. Both Charlie and Kate are roles that have been claimed. I trust these two roles out of the sheer unlikelihood that either one is bad again. That would clear both DFaraday and Epignosis for me. I'd prefer to see more (any?) substantive content from Epi but I find I'm suspicious of him far too often (like I am with S~V~S).

Anyone seen Jack around? He's been kinda silent lately. Probably just went marching off into the jungle to go save our lives again.
Can't give it much of a shot tonight, seeing as you folks already have us split 5-5:

Beach Bodies
-Dom
-Scotty
-Soneji
-Sorsha
-Spacedaisy

Hatchlings
-DFaraday
-Elohcin
-insertnamehere
-Quin
-Ricochet

Undeclared
-Epignosis

Or if you're the curious type like me...

1. Elohcin- Hatch
2. Quin- Hatch
3. DFaraday- Hatch
4. Scotty- Beach
5. Ricochet- Hatch
6. Soneji- Beach
7. Spacedaisy- Beach
8. Dom- Beach
9. Sorsha- Beach
10. INH- Hatch

I'm going to run some ISO's tonight while I have time. I want to see 1) which of you deserves my vote, and 2) where more people I don't trust are congregating for the night.

What do you all (everybody) think about piling the rest of us in the hatch, leaving three people on the beach to pressure any beach-dwelling killers into abstention?
What is the advantage of that?

Reading this does give me an idea of something to look out for, though. I'll elaborate another day.
Could be a useful way to limit the baddies' options. If only three people are on the beach and one of them is a baddie, it would take a bold baddie team to have their Beach Body baddie take out one of the other two and make it easier to figure him or her out. I admit that it doesn't help much but it could make one of the two locations a safe house of sorts.

As the game progresses, we could also coordinate the location calls and stick any super-civvies in the small spot. One part bait in case we're wrong about any seeming super-civs and two parts keeping those players out of harm's way.

There are potential drawbacks (bold baddies, an indy killer unafraid to draw attention, misreading players, abstentions, etc.) and the game may be too small to try it effectively. Then there's the human element. "Don't tell me what I can't do!" and whatnot (I'm looking at you Locke).

Just thinking out loud here, really.

Coward covered this in the rules already:
Golden wrote:3) Each day, declare whether you will spend the night at the hatch or on the beach. You may only be killed by a killer in your midst at your location. If you don't declare a location, you will be considered to be spending part of the night at each and therefore can be killed by any killer at any location. If a killer does not choose a location, they cannot kill.
If no one else claims a location for the night, then those non-claimers will be considered to be at both locations. By my count, we've got six location claims and seven undecideds:

Beach Bodies
-Scotty
-Soneji

Hatchlings
-DFaraday
-Elohcin
-Quin
-Ricochet

Undeclared
-Dom
-Epignosis
-G-Man
-insertnamehere
-MovingPictures07
-Sorsha
-Spacedaisy

What if we took a chance on leaving things where they are as of right now. If the seven of us who haven't claimed a bunk for the night continue to withhold a claim, then no baddies among us get to kill. If there's a kill tonight, we'll know at least one of the six claimers is a baddie. The baaddie(s) among the six would almost certainly kill one of the seven undeclared, thereby narrowing down two fields at once. A baddie among you six could always just abstain but how long would they be willing to risk that strategy?

Care to elaborate or do you prefer being cryptic?

Re: Lost Again Mafia (Season 2) - Day 1

Claire, Hurley, and Locke all died in the first game.

Could it be that simple or have we landed in the long-rumored zombie season?

Re: Lost Again Mafia (Season 2) - Day 1

Call it paranoia, awareness of history, or just a woman's intuition, but I don't trust Michael.

Soneji- you'd sound the same if you spent 48 days watching the people you're with die and disappear. I won't apologize for being hardened by hard times.

Care to explain why? I've gotten this far without tact. Why change what's working now that I'm on the other side of the Island?
Because you might piss off the wrong person and end up dead.
Come and let them try. Besides, I'd rather get killed by the real bad guys this time around instead of a whiny traitor with parenting issues.

no/?

Quin and Eloh- you guys baddie teammates again? Tell it to me straight or I'll throw both your asses in a pit.

MP- produce a rainbow list within six hours or I'll talk to Mr. Eko about introducing you to his Jesus Stick.
hi ana lucia
You were supposed to have a flashback to Mad Max and promptly tell me to fuck off. Disappointing response.
Day One isn't my centric episode. :sigh:
Centric episodes are overrated. Got anything useful to say or should we go for a hike?

The only crap I got for you is the kind that came out of my butt. So gross. You'd think the doctor would have warned me about that one.

I am no baddie, btw. Are you?
Civvie here. Your answer sucks. Hope you like tiger pits.

Bullshit.

I'm Kate, and I have a power. My ass.
Come on, we all know that Kate's pouty face was a stronger repellent than her ass was an attractant. I'm watching you, and I don't mean your ass.

Re: Lost Again Mafia (Season 2) - Day 1

Can anybody tell me if Hugo survived the first game? Or do I have to do everything myself?

Linki: same for John Locke.

No. My role card is all kinds of confusing though.
Confusing, huh? I don't like confusing. :eye:
