EPILOGUE: BLUE vs. RED

THE END IS THE BEGINNING

Hillary Clinton woke up slowly. Disoriented and her head pounding, she rolled to her side and moaned. She heard someone move in her direction and a firm hand grasped her shoulder.

"Take it easy," a man's voice said from right beside her. She tried to look at you had come to her aid but her vision was too blurry yet and the room swirled. She could make out the shape of a teacup in front of her.

"Drink this," the man said. "It will help your stomach."

"But my stomach feels fine," she murmured as she tried to sit up. Tightness and nausea gripped her a mere second after the words left her mouth and she doubled over in agony. She reached for the cup and took a sip. Peppermint tea. The warm liquid felt good all the way down.

"Good," the man said. "If you can keep that down I'll get you some crackers."

"Bill. Chelsea. Where are they? We were on a hike. I must have fainted."

"Your husband and daughter are here too. There in another room. You can see them soon enough."

"Thank you, doctor," Hillary said.

"Doctor? I'm no doctor."

"You mean we're not at the hospital?"

"Would you be laying on the floor if you were in the hospital?"

The tea had started to work and her wits begin to come back to her. Ornate furniture? Marble floors? Gold accenting as far as the eye could see? No, this was no hospital. She looked at the man helping her as he walked into the next room. He was wearing a silk robe over silk pajamas and house slippers. Something about his profile seemed familiar but she couldn't place it.

"Where am I?" Hillary asked. "Why did you bring me here?"

"Oh, I didn't bring you here. But you were brought here, just like me and the others."

"Others?" Hillary asked. None of this was making sense. She got to her feet and followed the man out into a palatial room that was every bit as gaudy as the one she left. "Who are you?"

"Well," the man said as he turned around to face her, "you probably don't recognize me with this beard, but we go back."

Hillary examined him hard and it clicked.

"Jeb?" she cried out. "Jeb Bush? But I thought you were dead?"

"That's what they want everyone to think. They've got stories explaining all of our disappearances. I don't know what the master plan is but I'm sure it's malicious. Some of us have been here for quite a while now."

"Wait," Hillary stopped him. "Where are we?"

"Why don't you see for yourself?" Jeb said, motioning to the window.

She looked out and gasped. There before her stood familiar buildings from the New York skyline and Central Park.

"This is impossible," she stammered.

"Oh no," Jeb assured, "this is all very real."

"Is there any way out?"

"I haven't found any yet," Jeb said.

Then you guys tried to kill me, and since the Host was too cruel to reveal WHO didn't get targeted, I had to go with the idea that Quin was a blocked killer. My bad! Quin, I promise not to roleblock you for a whole year.
I did that in Mad Max and the baddies got mad at me for confirming someone they wanted dead as a civvie. It's the old-school, Lostpedia/early-Piano way of writing a post but I see the value in keeping ambiguity in play now. Besides that night post had a subtle clue in it for you to pick up on, suggesting that the baddies still tried to kill (you of all people), but I guess I made it too subtle.

Re: GAME OVER: BLUE vs. RED

HILLARY POINTS ROUND-UP:

+1 Point to every player voting in the Night 6 poll.
+1 Point for voting to redistribute the Hillary Points of the dead. Democrats appreciate votes from the grave (just ask Kennedy) but redistribution is trending in the DNC.

Which leaves the standings like this:
+21 Points: notsawyer540
+20 Points: S~V~S
+18 Points: Marmot
+17 Points: thellama73
+16 Points: Long Con
+15 Points: DFaraday, DrWilgy
+14.5 Points: Epignosis
+13 Points: TheFloyd73
+12 Points: MacDougall
+11 Points: Jackofhearts2005
+9 Points: FZ., Scotty
+8 Points: Quin
+7 Points: Elohcin
Quin's vote to redistribute dead players' points killed his chance at tying for last place. Congrats to notsawyer540 for earning the most Hillary Points! His prize is...
Spoiler: show
Technically nothing. Hillary Points were not originally a part of my game design. When I handed out the first points during Day 0, I did it as a joke. When S~V~S reacted positively to the joke, I decided it would be fun to arbitrarily hand out meaningless points all game long. Somewhere around Day 2 I formalized the plan. If anyone could accumulate 45 Hillary Points, I would personally buy them one of these lovely BleachBit microfiber cloths. As the game ran on, I realized it was impossible for anyone to reach 45 Hillary Points through poll voting alone and I didn't want handing them out for thread activity to influence anyone's game decisions. I was going to have the redistribution poll run Night 5 but Long Con picked the curfew for Night 5, so no one would have been able to vote in that poll with the thread locked. Had we redistributed the dead players' points, I believe notsawyer540 would have reach the 45-point mark. But no, you greedy capitalists didn't want to share. :p

Now for some host notes:

-There were 59 total votes cast during the game. Of those 59, 25 of them were for mafia and 6 were for the independent. That 31/59 total votes going to baddies in a game where two baddies made it to the end and won. Ouch. I've been a part of civvie groups that just can't pull it together (Lost Again: Season 2 still haunts me), but it was interesting to watch the civvies repeatedly shoot themselves in the foot until there was nothing left but a misshapen, bloody stump. There were some unforced civvie errors that hurt you guys at times and the baddies did a fine job of letting you guys run wild with your bad ideas for the most part. Lots of restraint was on display by Llama and Sawyer but Jack was fantastic by not leaving a discernible trail for the extra two days he had to stick around as an outed baddie.

-It was tricky picking my vanilla civvies for this game. When Clinton lost the election in November, I had to do some homework and a bit of speculation because she never got to make my job easier by picking a real Cabinet. I knew better than to pick anyone too liberal because I doubt Clinton would have had any of the Sanders/Warren wing of the party in her inner circle.

-Instead of Ted Cruz, I was orginally going to use the Alt-Right as the third baddie. The more I thought about it, had Hillary Clinton won in November, the Alt-Right would have just crawled back under their rocks and lurked in the dark dank corner of the internet that they crawled out of. Trump's victory caused their profile to rise. With Trump dying in the Red vs. Blue, there would be no need for the Alt-Right because a portion of them wouldn't have supported Cruz because of his initial refusal to support Trump.

-All the posts I wrote to bridge this game with the end of Red vs. Blue was a lot of fun. Re-writing history is a lot of geeky fun. :D Donald Trump's death in the first game happened on September 1, 2016. This caused the following changes to the election timeline:
-Gary Johnson didn't have his Aleppo moment due to coverage of Trump's death (9/8/16)
-Hillary Clinton didn't make her 'basket of deplorables' comment (9/9/16)
-Ted Cruz never got to endorse Trump, which hurt him in the election (9/23/16)
-The New York Times illegal leak of Trump's tax returns never happened because he was dead (10/2/16)
-The Billy Bush tape was never leaked to hurt Trump and WikiLeaks didn't post the Podesta emails as a response (10/7/16)
-The FBI wouldn't have re-opened the Clinton email case after the Anthony Weiner investigation turned up a computer with more emails on it (10/28/16)
-CNN didn't ditch Donna Brazille due to the Podesta emails revealing she fed a few primary debate questions to the Clinton campaign (10/31/16)

-I took the real 2016 election results and tweaked them. I originally intended to have Cruz get annihilated in the fake election but the models needed for that to happen were unrealistic given vote trends since 2000. Instead, I had anywhere from 1-4% of each state's Republican votes disappear depending on where I thought the most Alt-Right Trumpers might have lived and also taking into account some moderates who might have reluctantly voted Trump but wouldn't have stomached voting for Cruz. With Cruz on the ticket, I figured that would pull some Never Trumpers away from Gary Johnson but Clinton would also get a bump in some areas with young liberals supporting Clinton in opposition of Cruz. In the end, the numbers were similar to the real election results, but the electoral math shifted in Clinton's favor.

-All the titles of lynch posts for civvies are quotes by those people. Tim Kaine's "I think all life is sacred" was used for irony as he was revealed to have called for the drone attack on Assange. The Blumenthal quote was partly for laughs because the civvie decision to lynch S~V~S over Sawyer that day had enormous consequences. The Huma Abedin quote was just the best I could come up with because there aren't many quotes of hers out there. The Chelsea Clinton quote "Most people are really nice" is a partial quote. The first half is about how she gets recognized when she's out and about. I used it for laughs because she was savaged by a few Clinton staffers in the Podesta emails.

-All the night post titles were titles of songs that were played at Clinton rallies in 2008 and 2016:
-Day 0: "Rise Up" by Andra Day
-Night 1: "I Wish" by Stevie Wonder
-Night 2: "Cheers to the Fall" by Andra Day
-Night 3: "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic" by The Police
-Night 4: "Suddenly I See" by KT Tunstall
-Night 5: "Brave" by Sara Bareilles
-Night 6: "Takin' Care of Business" by Bachman Turner Overdrive
-Endgame: "Stronger" by Kelly Clarkson

-Had the civvies won, the endgame post would have been titled "Fight Song" after the campaign theme that drove Hillary supporters nuts from overuse.

-After experiencing difficulty with writing posts with little prep time for Red vs. Blue and Mad Max, I outlined out how each civvie would leave the administration if lynched or NK'd at the start of the game. Tom Perez (Epignosis) would have resigned over executing some of the more outlandish executive actions and for helping Kaine navigate the process of green-lighting the droning of Assange. Had Hillary (Long Con) been lynched early, it would have been related to medical issues and the VRWC would have kept working at dismantling the rest of her administration.

-The baddies wanted Epi and Long Con dead several times. They actually tried to kill Long Con on Night 3. Long Con blocked Quin, which did nothing, but the baddies tried to NK LC and failed. That's why the night post was worded the way it was. I kept it as vague as I could but there is a hint that suggests they still tried to kill someone. In the end, it was kind of sad to watch two dominant players get left as the final two civvies alive. That's got to sting.

-Had Julian Assange lived longer, posts would have revealed that Barron Trump was his source for his dossiers. That didn't happen but it's okay. I had and still have larger plans for Barron Trump, as you will see in my epilogue post tomorrow.

-Thank you for not going too post crazy on this game. There were a lot of posts as far as Heists are concerned but it wasn't as overwhelming to keep up with.

-Also thank you all for participating! I didn't need to replace a single player all game. You also must have kept yourselves pretty well in check because I only ever heard from Dom (the game MOD) once and that was when he checked in with me at the start of the game.

Thank you all again for playing. As always, I feel that players make the game what it is. I set things up with mechanics and roles but you guys tell the story. Let me know if you have any other questions or comments about the game. I think I overpowered the civvies this time around but that turned out not to matter, now did it?

Re: GAME OVER: BLUE vs. RED

I'll throw a few host notes at you tonight or tomorrow. A few quick responses before I head home though:

When Scotty picked Jackofhearts2005 as his Day 0 dossier and as his fall guy, I got nervous because I was hoping to see him play both sides of the field for a while. Had he picked one of the other two VRWC members on Night 1, he would have had to expose one of them come Night 2. I didn't want a plain serial killer role again because I did that last game (Red vs. Blue). When Scotty got lynched Day 1, I freaked out because I feared that the baddies had little to no chance without Julian Assange mucking around and causing drama. I mean, how cool are Sawyer and Llama for managing to make it through five more days after their teammate is exposed? They were up against an un-lynchable civvie and an NK-proof civvie and they still won.

Check out the Day 1 poll- only one vote for a civvie on Day 1. I don't know that I've seen that happen before.
6 votes for Scotty (indy)
4 votes for Sawyer (mafia)
1 vote for Jackofhearts2005 (mafia)
1 vote for Llama (mafia)
1 vote for Quin (civvie)
2 missed votes

Golden wrote:Neat to see the lawmaker role in another form.
Indeed. I had come up with the Hillary role before playing in Battlestar Galactica but I expanded it after I saw how well the concept worked in your game.
Quin wrote:Congrats baddies!

Also, why the hell do I have 6 Hillary points?
LOL, because you kept voting in Night Polls and the dead/non/host option in lynch polls. I'll get the final Hillary Points standings up tomorrow and reveal what their purpose was.

I must say, the baddies did a superb job considering they had one of their own outed on Day 1. They also did a fine job of getting out of the way and letting the civvies brutalize themselves repeatedly. I'll get the Clinton options posted in a minute or two.

Game Over: BLUE vs. RED

STRONGER

Image
At 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Hillary Clinton approached the podium. The announcement of her address was sudden and caught everyone by surprise. Nothing was given to the press leading up to it. Everyone was tight-lipped but it wasn't hard to detect a somber mood in the air. Something big was about to happen.

"Good afternoon," she began. "I think it goes without saying that my first week in office has been... turbulent. Surprises and controversies are things that every President before me has dealt with. They are unavoidable. They sneak up on you and demand your time, energy, and resources.

"It is how a President responds to these events that history remembers. No President ever wants to make the wrong choice but sometimes it's hard to know what the right choice is. Sometimes there is no right choice. Occasionally, you are left to choose between several different courses of action that have pros that are desirable along with cons that cannot be avoidable. In politics, as in life, there is seldom a perfect solution to complicated matters.

"In the course of my life, I have been accused of many hurtful and factually incorrect things. But I fought on. I have had my name and the names of my family members slandered and drug through the mud for real or perceived mistakes. But I fought on. Even now, there are rumors and stories floating around about what I know and what I don't know. Let me be clear- I know what I know; end of story. Any blogger or pundit who thinks they can tell you my next move or what I really think about all the turmoil my administration has been dealing with is kidding themselves and leading you astray.

"I've been fighting for causes my whole life. I've fought for women's rights. I've fought for children's rights. I've fought for the right for people to have affordable health care. I have a long record of being a fighter. At this time, however, I have to call upon the wisdom of the old adage, 'pick your battles.' In my lifetime I have picked my battles well, fought hard, and usually came out on top.

"I realize that all the scandals, real and imagined, unveiled in the last week have become a distraction. My administration has lost time, energy, and resources to dealing with many of the things you have read about in the papers and online, or saw on the nightly news. My instinct tells me to fight on. It takes a strong person to stand and fight. But sometimes, it takes a stronger person to know when to stand down.

"My administration has lost political capital over these incidents and without political capital, it is almost impossible to get anything done in Washington. I did not reach this decision lightly, believe me. But in the interest of restoring common ground and progress as a nation, I see no other choice but to step aside and let others do the important work that voters selected me to do last November. It is with a heavy heart that I am resigning from the office of President of the United States of America effective immediately. In a few minutes, Vice President Vilsack will be sworn into office and America can have a fresh start. A re-start.

"To everyone who has become disappointed by the actions of my staff and those I associate with, I am sorry. For those of you who expected more from me as your first woman President, I am sorry. To those who do not wish me to step down and still believe that I can produce the kind of change that America needs, I am sorry. It has been an honor to serve my country in every position I have held. While I'd have liked to do more, I believe that America needs something else at this time. Thank you."

Everyone was stunned. Across the nation, millions watched with their mouths agape at what they had just witnessed. Some cried tears of sadness, while others cried tears of joy. Members of the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy would watch the speech again that evening, drinking champagne, smoking cigars, and patting each other on the back. Ted Cruz was still on trial but they had enough resources to broker a plea deal. That alone would prevent Cruz from ratting out any of the major players.

As for the incoming President Vilsack, the VRWC weren't too concerned. They would keep the pressure on this new President to walk back any controversial plans or views that his predecessor established before him. The fight against the spread of liberalism was far from over but on this night (and several after), they celebrated their monumental victory.

TAKIN' CARE OF BUSINESS

Image
GLENN: The pattern continues! Hello America. With a new day comes a new scandal. At this point, should we really expect anything less? Let's get into it.

[intro music plays]

GLENN: We're now a week into Hillary Clinton's administration. Russian soldiers disguised as rebels have begun to stir up unrest in the Baltic states. North Korea is vowing nuclear missile tests in the coming days. Iran continues to harass American naval vessels in the Persian Gulf. All of this should be news. Instead, Hillary Clinton and her absolute train wreck of an Administration has the nation's attention fixated upon just how idiotic and corrupt her people are.

PAT: You're just upset because it's something we knew already.

GLENN: I suppose that's part of it. But it's astonishing just how much corruption is being exposed here.

STU: It's become such a distraction to domestic and international policy issues that her approval numbers are abysmal.

GLENN: You know I don't pay attention to approval ratings but you've got me curious. What are we talking about here?

STU: We're one week in and she's at 25%. All the election and staff scandals are weighing her down.

GLENN: Wow. That's crazy.

PAT: You know that 25% is all the people who voted for her without thought.

GLENN: Well of course. They're completely in the tank for her. I don't think you'd ever get much lower because there are democrats who just don't care about these kinds of things. True-blue loyalists that can't be swayed.

STU: Let's get back on track here. We're leading our poor listeners on.

GLENN: Right. Well the Podesta emails strike again. Hillary Clinton's campaign manager and counselor, Robby Mook, resigned this morning. The latest batch released by Julian Assange's surrogates include correspondence that reveals Mook was working with low-lever operatives and community organizers to send paid agitators to Donald Trump and Ted Cruz rallies in an attempt to get Trump and Cruz supporters to turn violent in front of TV cameras and photojournalists. Some of these paid plants were pretending to be Trump and Cruz supporters and committed acts of violence and shouted racist and sexist comments from the crowd to get others to do the same.

PAT: Really, the only people who ought to be shocked by this are democrats who don't know how their party operates.

STU: I wonder where she goes from here.

PAT: Jail would be nice.

GLENN: No. No, we're not that lucky.

MOST PEOPLE ARE REALLY NICE
Image
RACHEL MADDOW: Here's the thing about political scandal. For some strange reason, anytime a Democratic politician is caught up in either a real or imagined scandal, it stays in the news. Like all the time. When Republicans get caught up in a scandal, there's this momentary spotlight where everyone gets to see them for the values-toting hypocrites that they are and then? Nothing. The Republican resigns from whatever position they were in and other news takes front and center.

Case in point: disgraced ex-Senator Ted Cruz. While his federal investigation is still ongoing and exposing other members of this farcically-named Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy, you wouldn't know how big a deal this was because it keeps getting overshadowed by other things. Like former Clinton advisor Sidney Blumenthal and Operation Cobalt member and former Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz disappearing on the same day, despite being under elite government protection.

Does Ted Cruz and his fact-based, results-producing trial matter when people can report on missing persons and conspiratorial whodunits? Apparently not. Does Cruz ratting out what appear to be low-level supporters in his attempt to obstruct the President amount to news when the Podesta emails lead to family drama in the White House? Nah. It's way more important these days to elevate gossip-column non-critical issues to headline news. While it may be newsworthy to share that Chelsea Clinton has left the White House after another wave of John Podesta's emails reveal even nastier things Hillary's staff said about her last year, the media's obsession with covering this story sucks all the fun out of watching Ted Cruz squirm under the microscope.

This, among other things, is just another reminder that life just isn't fair.

BRAVE

ALISYN CAMEROTA: Good morning and thank you for tuning into CNN's New Day this morning. I'm Alisyn Camerota with Chris Cuomo. It's Thursday, January 26th. Almost a full week into the Hillary Clinton administration and it's still a bumpy road.

CHRIS CUOMO: That's right Alisyn. With tension mounting between the Clinton Administration and the press, White House Press Secretary Brian Fallon lashed out at a group of reporters this morning. After providing the White House press corps with a morning briefing, several journalists from different media outlets pressed for more information regarding Sidney Blumenthal, Operation Cobalt, and the Podesta email leaks. Fresh rumors swept the internet last night and clarification was sought on a number of the purported details making their way around blogs and partisan websites.

ALISYN CAMEROTA: After fielding half a dozen questions on these rumors, Fallon went off on a tirade, singling out a handful of reporters by name. In his ranting, which already has over one million views on line, Fallon decried the rumors and suggested that anyone reporting on them is peddling in fake news. He then threatened to strip White House press credentials from anyone asking about these topics and stormed out of the room.

CHRIS CUOMO: Despite ideological differences between some members of the press corps, they delivered a unanimous condemnation of Mr. Fallon's behavior within 30 minutes of the incident. The term 'fake news' became a popular buzzword last year during the election due to countless false stories being published on several social media sites regarding both candidates, including false rumors of Hillary Clinton's supposed medical condition to Ted Cruz's alleged ties to an evangelical Christian cult bent on making America a theocracy.

ALISYN CAMEROTA: While some liberal blogs are praising Mr. Fallon for taking a stand against conservative media outlets, the majority of networks and website-based news disapprove. Rumors are swirling now that Fallon has either quit his role as Press Secretary or was asked to resign. Not official word from the White House yet regarding this potential development but one thing remains clear- Hillary Clinton seems to be running out of allies.

Section 2. Purpose of Change. Trustworthy outcomes of elections are essential to preserving our democracy and the faith citizens and residents have in said results. THERE'S NO DETAIL TOO SMALL FOR ME

Image
ERIN BURNETT: Thank you for joining us for another edition of OutFront. Events today sent shock waves through both the Republican and Democratic parties. The ramifications and political fallout of both events is impossible to estimate at this time.

First, former Democratic Congressman Anthony Weiner is under federal investigation tonight after sending more lewd text messages to young women. This time, some of the pictures are of the former congressman in bed with his son. This has brought on an investigation due to the possibility of endangering or using his son in a provocative manner. The text messages in question were sent last Fall but they come to light now under the Clinton Administration.

During the investigation, which had been kept secret until now, the FBI obtained a personal computer belonging to Weiner and his wife, Huma Abedin, who is Counselor to the President. While the FBI was looking for any additional images that Weiner sent via text or social media, they discovered a large cache of Huma Abedin's emails that were not turned over to the FBI during their investigation into Hillary Clinton's private email server last year. No word yet if this discovery could lead to the FBI re-opening the investigation. In the wake of her husband's investigation and the discovery of undisclosed emails, Huma Abedin has resigned from her post in the administration.

Our second story tonight could mark the end of two political legacies. In Kansas, a plane crash has taken the lives of former Florida governor and Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush along with Charles and David Koch. According to CNN sources, Bush was meeting with the billionaire Koch brothers to discuss a potential run for president in 2020. Over the years, the Koch brother have funneled hundreds of millions of dollars into Republican campaigns in state and federal elections. More on that in a few minutes, but now we're going to return to our top story...

SUDDENLY I SEE
(WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 25, 2017)
Image
BRIAN KILMEADE: Good morning everybody. It is Wednesday, January 25th. The hits just keep on coming for Hillary Clinton. Fox News has confirmed that longtime Clinton ally Cheryl Mills has resigned from her position as White House Chief of Staff as of early this morning. Rumors of her potential departure began to swirl as early as Sunday.

STEVE DOOCY: And who can really blame her? The Clinton Administration has been a mess and it hasn't even been a full week yet. Between this mysterious Operation Cobalt challenging the legitimacy of the election, her Vice President exceeding his authority at best, sexual impropriety by her husband, the Podesta emails, and now dissent and turmoil amidst her White House staff, she hasn't even been able to get to work on any policy issues.

AINSLEY EARHARDT: This has even some Democratic lawmakers concerned already as to how these controversies and stumbles may impact her ability to get anything done with a Republican-majority Congress.

BRIAN KILMEADE: And when you consider that there wasn't much goodwill left for Congress to extend to begin with, you have to wonder if all of the Clinton political capital of old has lust it's luster.

STEVE DOOCY: Or maybe it was just Fool's Gold to begin with.

AINSLEY EARHARDT: Whatever the reasons for Cheryl Mills' departure, her nearly silent exit speaks volumes.

BRIAN KILMEADE: In other news, the White House announced this morning that it has terminated the controversial voting experiment enacted by a recent executive order. When asked for more details...

EVERY DECISION THAT THEY TAKE HAS ENORMOUS CONSEQUENCES
(TUESDAY, JANUARY 24, 2017)

This is a Fox News alert. I'm Shepard Smith.

In a shocking turn of events, longtime Clinton ally and strategist Sidney Blumenthal was hospitalized today in an apparent suicide attempt when FBI agents entered the White House. Details are still coming in but Fox News sources indicate that the FBI came to the White House specifically to take Mr. Blumenthal into custody.

Blumenthal, a was a senior advisor to President Bill Clinton and served in an unofficial advisory capacity to President Hillary Clinton's campaign last Fall. After President Clinton's victory over Texas Senator Ted Cruz, Blumenthal was named as a Counselor to the President.

According to sources inside the White House, Mr. Blumenthal allegedly tried to slash his own throat in a second-floor bathroom as FBI agents closed in. He was taken away by ambulance but his present location is being kept secret. Stay tuned for more Fox News alerts as we learn more about Mr. Blumenthal's condition and why the FBI sought him out.

EVERY LITTLE THING SHE DOES IS MAGIC
(TUESDAY, JANUARY 24, 2017)
Image
MIKA: After a tumultuous start to her administration, President Hillary Clinton seems to have finally earned a much-needed night of respite. As of this hour, there are no new reports of any new turmoil inside the Clinton Administration, though that's not for a lack of trying by some Republicans.

JOE: That's right, Mika. Conservative outlets and media personalities are continuing an all-out assault against President Clinton, trying to connect her to the mysterious Operation Cobalt and deem her unfit for office due to perceived or imagined health issues and alleged conflicts of interest. There's one thing they're missing on all of these fronts though.

MIKA: Evidence, of course.

JOE: Precisely. Look, I appreciate the humor in Ted Cruz's phantom group's choice of name. Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy goes back to Bill Clinton's administration and is a cheeky cheap shot at our current President. But so many people have been coming at the Clintons for years, so the only reason this stuff isn't relegated to background noise is because Hillary is President now.

MIKA: They keep trying though. Listen to what Steve Bannon, head of the fringe-Right website Breitbart, said in a recent editorial- "For the good of the country, people need to wake up and realize that the alternative facts that we are presenting have merit. The liberal media machine is oppressing millions by controlling what they believe to be true."

JOE: My God. Alternative facts? What the hell are alternative facts?

MIKA: I think we used to call them rumors, conspiracy theories, half-truths, and outright lies. Now I guess they're alternative facts.

THE WHITE HOUSE

EXECUTIVE ORDER
13765
----
ENSURING VOTE EQUITY FOR ALL CITIZENS
By virtue of the authority vested in me by the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and as President of the United States, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Section 1. Declaration of Special Provision Territory. The Secretary of State and the Chairman of the Federal Elections Committee shall re-classify The Syndicate as an at-risk voting district subject to new coverage formulas.

Section 2. Establishment of New Coverage Formulas. Due to certain members of The Syndicate dominating communication and potentially diluting the free exchange of ideas, equity must be ensured so that those with limited access to communications tools to exercise their right to free speech have a more equitable share of speech. Establishing coverage formulas to votes cast in The Syndiacte will ensure that the loudest voices are not also the most powerful voices.

Section 3. Implementation and Coverage Formula Composition. Beginning on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, all speech conducted within The Syndicate from the time the current administration took office will be certified and tallied. All current members of The Syndicate will have their vote values reassessed in a manner that provides for the same total number of votes to be cast but the votes of individuals will be weighted in the inverse order of their current speech volumes.

Section 4. Evaluation and Assessment of Coverage Formula Effectiveness. This duration of the processes laid out in this order shall initially extend only through the voting period on Tuesday, January 24, 2017. At that point, the President shall review the effectiveness of the new coverage formula with the Chairman of the Federal Elections Committee. If deemed successful, the President may choose to extend the duration of the application of the new coverage formulas on a daily basis until she deems them no longer necessary.

CRUZ CONTROL
(MONDAY, JANUARY 23, 2017)

Image
Jeb Bush was washing the dinner dishes with his wife when his cell phone rang. He almost dismissed the call but changed his mind when he who was trying to reach him. He excused himself from the kitchen and went into the study, locking the door behind him.

"Hello Charles," he said into his phone.

"Jeb," came a familiar voice. "How are things?"

"Well, it's been quite the exciting day. Have you seen the news?"

"Yes," Charles said. "Pity about Ted. He had a great deal of potential."

"I suppose he's political kryptonite now," Jeb mused.

"Oh, absolutely. With revelations as damning as what he's facing, and the evidence that's piling up, I'm sure he'll wind up in prison."

"I was surprised that the Senate held back-to-back votes, though. Censured and expelled in one fell swoop? That's never happened before."

"No, but we both know that plenty of his Republican colleagues wanted him gone. It serves three purposes- they get rid of the thorn in their side, it appeases the new President, and it helps them hang onto that principles banner they like to wave. The last thing Republicans want to do right now is appear supportive of someone involved in a conspiracy."

"About that," Jeb said. "Does any of what Ted is caught up in connect to us?"

"Oh heavens no," Charles assured. "I know a few people who may be watching their backs right now if they're up to the old tricks again, but we're in the clear."

"Thank goodness. It hasn't been easy keeping it from Columba but she doesn't know anything about it. Losing the primary to Donald was hard enough for her to bear."

"Speaking of elections, why don't you come up to Kansas this week. David and I would like to talk to you more seriously about considering 2020. If Hillary's presidency continues on its current trajectory, the odds of taking back the White House should be in our favor."

"When did you have in mind?"

"How about Wednesday? We'll charter the flight and have Anthony pick you up at the airport. Leave Columba at home. This is all just preliminary talks. We're not ready to ask the blessing of your wife yet, though I'm sure she'd say yes."

"I'll clear my schedule."

"Good. We'll see you on Wednesday then."

"Thank you, Charles," Jeb said and hung up the phone.

On the other end of the line, Charles Koch set the phone down, sighed, and turned to the armed men standing next to him.

"You're not going to get away with this," he said.

A voice responded from behind the goons. "Just watch me."

Still bitter about a stinging election defeat, you have sworn to prevent the Hillary Clinton Administration from making any meaningful change for the nation. Member of the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy and a vanilla baddie.

It is now Night 3.
You have until 3:30 p.m. EST to send in your role PMs.

Re: Day 3- BLUE vs. RED

As is usual, Hillary Clinton approves of exercising your right to vote. +1 Hillary Point those who voted in the night poll. An additional +1 Hillary Point to those who voted for the appropriate responses: his achievements as President, his daughter, and his wife.

CHEERS TO THE FALL
(MONDAY, JANUARY 23, 2017)
Image
GLENN: Body shots, stripper poles, and the White House. Hello America, it seems that the old adage is true- a leopard cannot change its spots. The latest scandal to rock the Hillary Clinton Administration, right now.

[intro music plays]

GLENN: I want you to know that I am going try my hardest not to laugh while talking about this, but please forgive me if I do. This is very serious stuff but it is also so absurdly predictable that I think the natural reaction for a lot of Republicans out there is to laugh.

PAT: I definitely laughed when I heard the headlines.

GLENN: I know you did. I was stunned at first but laughter followed soon after. It's been said that we laugh at that which we do not understand. This is pretty darn unfathomable. Former President and current First Gentleman Bill Clinton is under fire from women's groups across the country this morning after a video surfaced of him drinking shots with and inappropriately touching- of all things- White House interns.

STU: Shocker. Never could have seen that one coming.

GLENN: It doesn't stop there. The video goes on to show the former President leading three clearly intoxicated White House interns from an Inauguration Day party inside the White House to a secret room equipped with strobe lights, a small stage and what can only be described as stripper poles. You can hear him coaxing the young women to quote "give the pole a try" and "make it a team effort" as they proceed to perform stripteases and lap dances for the 42nd President. The video stops as Clinton begins to get handsy with one of the young women, who appears to resist at first.

PAT: I wonder how he got that stuff moved in without anyone asking questions.

GLENN: The response from the Clinton Administration this morning was fascinating. They are trying to identify the person who recorded this footage because they committed a crime by secretly recording footage inside the White House. They were tight-lipped, however, on questions about what this means for Bill Clinton and his roll in his wife's administration going forward, calling these developments a personal matter.

STU: It is an amazing turnaround because he got a pass from liberals 20 years ago but now they've turned against him. Especially Millennials.

PAT: Yeah but they all voted for Bernie Sanders anyway.

GLENN: Of all the tightrope acts I expected Hillary Clinton to face, this was not one of them.

STU: She's going to have to choose between her loyalty to her husband and her loyalty to women's rights.

GLENN: It seems she may have already made her choice, as rumors are swirling of an enraged Hillary Clinton throwing- of all things- an ashtray at her husband and banishing him from the White House. We'll see if any more details come out of this but wow.

PAT: He should stay. If there can be a First Wives Club, why not a First Gentlemen's Club?

[laughter]

BILL CLINTON
Former President of the United States and currently serving as First Gentleman, Bill still has plenty of the charisma that launched the Clinton political dynasty. Only losing three of 12 votes in his political career (House, Governor, and impeachment), he has a 75% chance of surviving every time he collects the most votes in a lynch poll. His ability to survive lynches has no impact on a tie lynch if he is involved with one. Tied lynch polls result in no lynch.
It is now Day 3.
You have 48 hours to lynch someone.

Sorry for not answering a few points earlier. At 6:30 pm (just as dinner was almost finished cooking) my five-year-old threw up in stunning fashion, leaving her mark in three rooms and a hallway. I'll be calling an upholstery cleaner tomorrow about deodorizing the couch cushions. :|

Hillary Points may be earned by any player, dead or alive, throughout the course of the game. +1 Hillary Point for asking an important question related to Hillary Points.

Epignosis wrote:Self-voting is illegal though, so I don't know how that would've played out.
Self-voting is indeed illegal. Violating that rule would result in the self-vote being disregarded in the official tally. Breaking the rules will also result in the loss of all of the offender's Hillary Points.

Re: Night 2- BLUE vs. RED

I THINK LIFE IS SACRED
(SUNDAY, JANUARY 22, 2017)

Image
GREG: Thank you for watching the Greg Gutfeld Show this crazy Sunday evening, folks. The burning question of the night is this: can the Clinton Administration possibly do anything right? I mean, my God, it's the second full day that she's been President and it's been one embarrassing disaster after another. WikiLeaks, the inauguration video, secret power grab documents- have we ever had such a disastrous start to a Presidency?

And now today, it looks like it's all repeating itself. Not long after the Clinton Administration held a press conference and blamed Russia for the shocking video of Pamela Brown- who nobody know the whereabouts of I might add- Florida Congresswoman and disgraced ex-DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz showed up at FBI headquarters and confessed to being involved with this Operation Cobalt mission designed to sabotage the Trump campaign. Schultz looked ragged, like she hadn't eaten or slept in a couple of days, and begged for protective custody. God only knows what's going to come from this but if the ex-DNC chair, who was in charge of the DNC while this secret operation was underway, was part of this conspiracy, is it such a stretch to assume that Hillary Clinton might have known about this?

And now you've got someone leaking information out of the White House. I don't know if it's a whistle-blower or just a pissed off employee, but dear Lord is this a bombshell. Last Fall, Julian Assange promised to dish out some dirt on Clinton. The morning of the inauguration, he does, by way of the Podesta emails. The next day, Assange dies in a freak explosion. Today, documents were leaked showing that Hillary Clinton's Vice President, Tim Kaine, ordered a stealth drone strike on the Ecuadorian embassy in London to take Assange out. He's the Vice President! He doesn't have the authority to make that call. Either someone with real power made the final decision (and there's only one person higher on in the food chain) or Kaine is guilty of an insane level of overreach.

Is Hillary Clinton's presidency already in a death spiral? If not, what on earth could happen next?

I WISH
(SUNDAY, JANUARY 22, 2017)

ABBY HUNTSMAN: Good morning Fox fans across the nation. It's 6:00 a.m. in New York and you are watching Fox & Friends Weekend. Just two days into Hillary Clinton's presidency and it's been nothing but chaos and controversy. First it was WikiLeaks releasing John Podesta's emails the morning of the inauguration. Then it was that shocking video during the inauguration and the claims contained in it, which the Freedom Caucus in the House is pushing for open investigations of.

CLAYTON MORRIS: That's right Abby, and yesterday there was international drama as Russian military forces looked to be on the verge of invading Ukraine and WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange died after an as-of-yet unexplained explosion at the Ecuadorian Embassy. Some of WikiLeaks supporters are promoting an online petition to ask the FBI to investigate any potential involvement by the Clinton Administration in Mr. Assange's death. They believe that WikiLeaks recent focus on the Democratic National Committee and President Clinton may have triggered a drastic and illegal retaliation from the new President.

ABBY HUNTSMAN: Now this morning, a shocking resignation from the Clinton Administration. Jennifer Palmieri, the White House Director of Communications, released a letter to the press one hour ago, resigning from her post. She was the Director of Communications for President Clinton's campaign last year and played a vital role in getting the campaign's message to resonate with enough American's to win the White House.

CLAYTON MORRIS: Her resignation letter cited her desire not to be a distraction to the administration when the country needs to unify, likely referencing the controversy surrounding the disparaging comments she made against Evangelical Christians and Catholics in emails sent to John Podesta. Those emails were released by WikiLeaks Friday morning.

ABBY HUNTSMAN: Her comments drew the ire of many powerful religious figures and groups across the country, many of them questioning if Ms. Palmieri's attitudes are shared throughout the Clinton Administration. And now there are rumors of a secret document that Palmieri was working on.

CLAYTON MORRIS: Yes, it could be quite shocking if true. A picture has been making the rounds online, purportedly showing a half-finished, secret Presidential Directive drafted by of the now former White House Director of Communications on behalf of President Clinton. It's very difficult to make out but if this document is genuine, it appears that it would have granted President Clinton the ability declare members of the White house press corp as illegitimate on a temporary basis, which amounts to blackballing and silencing anyone she wants. We'll keep you posted on any new developments regarding this potentially dangerous precedent.
