Re: Cracking Idea [Burglary]

Hey Spacedaisy you asked me to host this game after you finished your move.

I assume you are still too busy for this but when you're ready let me know. It's a Burglary so I can host whenever.

Epignosis wrote: Sun Sep 17, 2017 9:52 pm I had fun, sure, but that was just giving JJJ shit.

My problem with this is that the setup isn't guaranteed to be balanced, and civilian roles generally aren't useful.

For example: I searched for serial killers.

There were no serial killers in this game...

...except there were two of them, since there was no mafia BTSC, only two independent killers.

I think this would work much better if you killed the werewolf / alien factions and worked it out to where there would be a balanced Mafia / Civilian game.
I think this game addresses some concerns. No serial killer, for example.

Or someone else could. I think it's a great format for a side mission.
I'd love to play it.

And I don't wanna replace the game I already have in the queue. :shrug2:

Cracking Idea [Burglary]

The British version of Greater Idea.

https://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?ti ... Idea_Mafia

For those new to the concept, in this game, there are 100 roles, and every player, before the game starts, receives two. Then they must pick one to be their role, and discard the other. The list of roles discarded by each player will be revealed when the game starts, creating some WIFOM. This setup doesn't guarantee balance at all, but it can be very fun, and is easy to pay multiple times.

There are many versions of Great Idea setups. This one is my favorite. It is a more balanced and streamlined version of GI, which eliminates some more bastard roles like the Black Goo, and some roles that make the game harder to decipher, like Strongmen and normal Roleblockers, making the setup less "opaque", according to the MafiaWiki. It also adds some cool new roles.

Baby Alien Monarch

Pseudojester (one-shot unlynchable; converts to the alignment of the hammering player when lynched; cannot win otherwise)
Red Goo (goo-aligned; targeted player unstoppably dies, even if bulletproof etc; one-shot; cannot be redirected/blocked; mod announces the death being due to a Red Goo)
Red Goo
Grey Goo (goo-aligned; anyone who successfully targets Grey Goo with an action becomes goo-aligned and vanillerized. The goo faction gains immediate knowledge of this. Immediately after night 2, Grey Goo (unblockably) dies)
Chameleon Goo (same as grey goo; also a mason)

This setup has 4 factions. The regular civ faction, as well as the Mafia, Aliens and Goo. Mafia is your regular baddie faction, with the weakest roles, but the ability to make kills every night. Aliens have considerably stronger roles, but a lower number of kills, proportional to the number of players. Finally, Goo has a low number of roles, but some of them have passive recruitment abilities, while others have 1-shot kills. Finally, there are a few third party roles.

This is meant to be a Burglary. I also want to host a bigger version of it, but I already have games for the Full and Speed queues so I'll likely do it in another site. But because it is modular, we could host it multiple times.
