Alright, the way I read that, motel room just didn't know that "bonk! Go to horny jail!" was a meme, and then guessed that it might be a meme that is popular on discord. I wouldn't read maf for feigning ignorance on that. It's easy to forget that not everyone knows memes.
I knew bonk was a meme, because I've seen it outside of discord. But I'm not surprised it's popular on discord too.

I'm ignoring mechanics in this game for the moment. At 12 vs. 3 we get four mischops. Add 3 mafia and you need a POE pool of seven names. That also means you need seven townies not named yourself.

I don't see as much clear-cut town in this thread as I would like, perhaps due in part to the post restriction. I'm not sure I can get there, green as I am to the proceedings. I can accept much of dunya's list based on my initial vague impressions. If I only need seven town, I go with:

Whatever folks may think of Lime Coke's reactions to pressure -- I am here now. We assess JaggedJimmyJay too. I am reminded of a philosophy I mused over quite recently:

Town players tend to be of the impression that it's valuable and even critical to "put pressure on people". They'll place "pressure votes" and hurl "pressure accusations" and things like that. I have certainly done it myself in my many past games. I don't think this is actually the best way to approach a hunt though. People respond to pressure with a certain kind of animation and/or frustration regardless of alignment, and when town tries to assess "responses to pressure" their reads are far more often inaccurate than accurate. A pressured thread is not the answer. Quite the opposite is preferred -- if we create an environment when the pressure released, then we allow town cohesion, cooperation, and camaraderie. The mafia have to try their best to fit in with that world even when they know deep down that they don't belong. And that is how they are caught, either directly or via POE.

Anyway just something to chew on whenever folks do their philosophical chewing. I won't waste further posts on it.

Scotty is my official "these posts don't really seem bad but for some reason I am struggling to find an actual town read" read.

I strongly considered that and still might yet, but I am cursed with "respect for the game" and won't engage in goofery if it'll just murder my slot given the current conditions. Mac's vote for my slot is fine. This is the kind of meta read that is way too specific to ever mean anything (I strongly suggest throwing this strategy in the bin before next game, with no slight intended. I have had to learn that lesson myself), but it's also the kind that town are inclined to make.


Just grabbing this post to stand in for any posts relating to Nanook's vote for my slot. I don't know why Nanook has suspicions, and that's par for Nanook. I think I can understand why Nanook might sustain suspicions after they started (e.g. Lime Coke not helping his case by screaming in caps lock). I'm not clear on the starting point. This doesn't tell me anything about Nanook either way.


tutuu's read on this slot is all over the place, and I cannot claim to understand it. That doesn't necessarily have to be a problem, but it's not "good" either. If any of these votes is a bad vote, this would be it just by sheer opportunism. tutuu only has one post left and cannot easily respond I understand, but oh well.

In terms of how authentic the suspicion appears: Mac > Nanook > tutuu

Summary: None of them screams EVIL at me. Mac's is distinctly town in appearance. Nanook's tells me nothing at all. tutuu's could tell me nothing but it might tell me something worse.
