Re: Bonk Mafia (TOWN WINS)
The presence of a mafia role that can distribute misleading information to town immediately made me want to ignore mechanics and just play the game mountainous. To Mac's credit though, he claimed quickly, there was no need for a counter, and it negated that entire dynamic. The mafia power role is at least arguably harmful to them by the percentages, so it could be called a null or even crippled role -- in that way the setup could probably use a tweak. That role itself could stand to be strengthened for mafia utility.
12 vs. 3 is also the upper-bound of what I would call "balanced" in Syndicate games, as in that's about as pro-town as you can make the numbers without it being too much (with 9:2 being okay for raw mountainous). Add the power role situation and that changes to just a straight pro-town game.
I don't think the game was badly balanced though. Town won this predominantly via the hunt and just locked it shut with mechanics. I actually feel a little bad, because if I hadn't joined there's a decent chance my own slot dies on Day 1 and Scotty is free to cause mayhem thereafter. Games can turn very easily on things unrelated to their structure.

Jay's slot is always town
I have a green on falcon + whoever i track, let's say tutu
I'm obviously town in that world
Thats four clears, which locks the game, and that's not even counting tsp who was nearly clear when mac died over me
So yeah, I get why jay had concerns, but that's why I wasn't worried
Truth be told I just wanted the game to wake up if it continued, but if I was truly worried I'd have probably played harder. This was a cozy one.

Re: Bonk Mafia (TOWN WINS)
Always good to remember that there is no such thing as a Mafia circumstance that is worth real human emotion. Sometimes it will naturally come out, but it can be contained if we just remember that this is a game on a message board forum that 99.99% of the population of the Earth has never heard of before. No matter how successful anyone is, it means just about nothing.

Re: Bonk Mafia (Day 4)
If this game continues onward, I am still not going to be able to do much. The semester begins Monday, and I have an absolute assload to deal with. I would have to ask my town teammates to carry the torch and turn this complacency into effort, because we would officially be in a position where it is needed. We "earned" a few days of lazy with those lucky coin flip chops, but the game can be lost. It's exactly what happened in Shockheaded Peter Mafia after two successful mafia eliminations on Days 1 and 2. Dig down deep and find the will to win. I will try my best if I am here to do my part, but know that my best will be limited.
If we're fortunate none of that will be necessary, and the game will end in a half hour. I can only shrug.

Don't remember. If you mean as mafia specifically it'd probably be the season 6 scrimmage here, but that was with mafia Mac and nutella both still alive with me. Solo I think I have to reach back to 2017 to the first Phenon Origins game (sockpuppets). I am hardly ever mafia.

If this is the only post suggestive of town Dyson then I no longer care.
Half of Dyson’s reads in this game have looked fake to me, contrary to popular opinion.
Dyson was my first instinct yesterday, before Mizery.
He’s in the POE that felt good enough before. I’m not inclined to deviate yet.

I’ll acknowledge that there’s a little ~game feels weird~ happening, so thinking outside the box is healthy. I doubt I’ll be voting Radishes this phase though.
The hunt does need to accelerate though. I wish I could be more helpful, but the new semester is starting soon. I have to focus on that.

Re: Bonk Mafia (Day 4)
Maybe the best argument that Radishes is mafia is that dyachei was the Night 1 kill. dya may be a great player, but I tend to question whether anyone kills them first, before they can even make a post, without knowing who they are. That would eliminate some people in theory.

Super basic reasons to call everyone town:
Dyson - MR clear
falcon - NAA clear
MR - Day 1 vote
motel room - Mac died
Nanook - Alison posts
NAA - Day 2 vote
Tony - Alison posts
tutuu - Scotty posts
I think the Dyson defense is compelling. I don't think the falcon defense is compelling. Radishes and NAA each have similar defenses which hold up well enough for me right now; if it's either of them then it's up to the players in the POE pool to play their assess off and change the dynamic. The motel room defense is irrelevant to me at the moment until I hear something. The Nanook defense weakens with time. The Tony defense weakens with time. The tutuu defense weakens with time.
We get four more tries maximum.

I cannot produce a compelling reason to call for this chop to be moved to someone other than Mizery. I'm not super convinced this is the right choice, but it's as agreeable at least as any alternatives I could suggest. So I ride with the team.
