1/2. My girlfriend and I had started one last time we were together, but didn’t finish. I put the final pieces in place soon after the lockdown started.

What's the best dog breed?

I like the region well enough, but my specific location is kinda meh. I’m on campus and surrounded by businesses and suburbs. I prefer being close to woods. But an empty college town is a good place to be quarantined, at least. Streets are empty and stores are well stocked.

What goes in your perfect omelet?

No, but they both make the playoffs.

What’s the most productive thing you’ve done so far in quarantine?

Used to be the Diamonbacks, but they upgraded. Now it’s the Indians.

Favorite city you’ve ever visited?

The Grand Canyon or the Cliffs of Moher. The Grand Canyon is incredible in that it stretches as far as they eye can see. But the Cliffs of Moher are enormous jagged rocks above crashing waves with no man-made barrier for protection and I still get woozy thinking about it.

Which team has the best uniforms in your favorite professional sports league?

I think that peace and happiness are states to be achieved from within, and those are the things toward which I want my life to strive. I do not necessarily need to achieve something extraordinary beyond inner peace, but achievements would not necessarily exclude the possibility either.

What is the best soup you’ve ever had?

I’ve never met another person who’s read my favorite book (Thomas Mann’s The Magic Mountain) and I would not hold my breath for it appeal to anyone in the same way it did for me if I were to recommend it to them. It resonated very peculiarly with me when I read it.

What’s a work of art that is held in high regard but that you don’t care for?

Thanks to KFC, I have.

What’s your go-to fever/cold remedy? Asking for a friend

The Dodgers, because they were already a powerhouse and then they added the best player from my favorite team. Their lineup could be historically good this year.

Which hypothetical work schedule would you prefer: five shorter work days per week, or four work days at their usual length?

Only while driving. I’m a little nearsighted.

What part of your body is chronically just a little sore?

Ireland and Canada. I technically crossed into the UK for a day when I was visiting Ireland as well.

If you could learn a new language, which would you choose?

I just looked it up, and apparently my favorite cereal is no longer being produced. That’s disappointing. It was a corn flake & mixed berry thing from Kashi. I hadn’t seen it in stores for a few months and it’s not listed anywhere on their website. I don’t know what my next favorite is. Crispix?

Would you sign my petition to get Kashi to start manufacturing that cereal again?

My second grade teacher. My most distinct memory from the class is that she taught us to spell lawyer wrong (she insisted it was "loyer"). Then years later my mom mentioned that the teacher had a reputation among the parents for heavily favoring the girls in the class. I was too oblivious to observe the distinction back then, but I do remember several missed recesses for what seemed like unfair reasons to my 8 year old brain.

Cats. The house pet, not the musical.

Have you ever been to a casino?

Miami. I don’t care about beaches or big cities.

What vacation spot would you most like to visit?

Nothin'. Hockey's great and the best sport to watch as a neutral observer. I just don't have the emotional investment that I do with baseball, and it's not as prominently exposed as basketball and football, so I don't receive it passively like I do with those sports. I can tune into any NBA game and name at least one or two players on either team. So I guess my answer is: more mainstream exposure. Perhaps if I settle into Canada this will stop being an issue.

What movie or show are you most looking forward to in the next year?

I like the extra roster spot and two-way designation. Both seem like steps to better fit the game to modern strategies, and I'm excited to see if we'll start to get more players who are allowed to pitch and hit or if this improves the quality of pitcher at-bats in general. The three batter minimum is the controversial one, and while it doesn't strike me as the most effective way to combat pace of play issues, I'm at least intrigued to see what it does to bullpen management. It puts extra pressure on relievers to not suck, and on managers to A) not overwork their best relievers and B) pick the right guy for the right situation.

How do you feel about the Houston Astros and their cheating scandal?

What is your go-to breakfast?

Y'know it's been a pretty good day, thank you for asking. For the last two weeks I've either been sick or working. Today I was neither of those things, and it was sunny and not bitterly cold outside. I went to the store, I went for a jog, I did some stretching, now I'm about to read for a couple hours. All of this is close to an ideal day for me.

How was your day, next person?

I have watched The Good Place, it was A Good Show.

How would you rate snow on a scale of 1-10?

I want to comment that I own a shirt from Thailand that has nonsense english words written on it and it's one of my favorite clothing items in the world. I only bring it out on special occasions.
