But wow, this game was nuts. I've never seen such a rollercoaster mafia game. My mood went from through the roof to way down in the dumps, and then back through the roof again when SVS killed Dom. Then a crushing unforeseen defeat.

Can someone explain how Dom survived the lynch on Day 11? I see nothing in the roles that would lead to a baddie being given lynch immunity. This tells me that it could either be a undisclosed game mechanic, or be a result of the hosts one-use powers they used way back at the beginning of the game. With this in mind, how feasible is it to suggest that Turnip may also have benefitted from this protection? With all this on the table, I still think chaindeath is more likely to be a policeman.
We still don't know how Dom survived that lynch. There had to be some kind of secret mechanic or role ability in motion, but the details elude us and probably will until endgame. We could certainly tinfoil Turnip Head as being the same story, but I don't think it would be wise. We do know after all the dons have to be alive, and it makes no sense for Soneji, chaindeath, or I to be dons.

Plus Soneji is conceding. :p

Beautifully played Soneji and all of the cops. If it weren't for process of elimination and role assignments, this scenario may never have arrived. There's not much a baddie team can do about that.
This post though. Soneji wasn't conceding at all :sigh:

This is so very true for pretty much everyone but Silverwolf. Silverwolf has incredible instincts. However, I have never seen so many civs be so absolutely wrong and yet 100% they were right as I did in this game. People who usually have outstanding instincts as well. It was almost painful to watch at times.

Also, I have to share my own Slooneji story. Sloonei, you were originally supposed to be the Chief and soneji was supposed to be my Don, but because I flubbed and got Sloonei and soneji mixed up, I had to flip flop your roles because one of the role card messages was read as soon as I sent it. One more confession, civvies: while I was definitely on your side in this game, there was one motive I had that you did not -- get my independent brothers/sisters from the start out of prison and into the win column. Paroling actual townies instead of us would have been a better strategic choice; we knew we had to stand out however we could.
Nah, paroling townies wouldn't have been much more of an advantage to us. I asked and it turns out even paroled townies would have remained anonymous and unaffiliated.

Neither civilian faction could win the game unless the opposing team's Don was dead, as stated in the public win con. That was mathematically impossible, given a chaindeath arrest meant that the only two living civilians left were each team's Don.

Since the Police had no way to actually rid the game of the Dons, Daisy and I told them that, as long as they took the game down to at least one of them being alive and the only civilians left are the two Dons, then they would win the game by default.

If all of the Police had died before it got to that point, but then the civilian factions still couldn't mathematically take out each other's Dons, then the game would have been a draw and no one would have won (except independent prisoners, if they happened to get paroled).

You all were too busy mislynching each other unintentionally to see the opposing team's Don as the threat that they really were. :mafia:

Re: [END] Turf Wars: Battle of the Hosts

Soneji wrote:Epi and I very much hinted towards the Prisoner not mattering. The game would be heavily unbalanced if the Cops had to rely on the town to take out the Dons to win, as the Dons were immune to the actions of the cops. Neither faction of town can meet their wincon if only the Dons remained from each family, so Cops win by default if only one of them is alive against both Dons.
I was unaware of this all game long

Prisoner 509378 wrote:Yeah I clearly misunderstood something. I didn't think they could win with the dons still in the game and not arrested. I thought it might be headed toward a civ-civ stalemate of some kind, but I didn't think the cops would be able to accomplish their win condition.

Sorry civilians. I have a feeling many of us misinterpreted the same thing somewhere.
Yeah, same. I thought we were cruising toward turnip head & I staring awkwardly at each other some more until the game just ended.

Re: [END] Turf Wars: Battle of the Hosts

I had a crew member alive the whole time! I assumed I was submitting night actions to nobody from night 9 on.

I'll be voting for soneji. I'm still bitter about his name being similar to mine.
