Re: Downton Abbey Mafia (Day 6)

Ok so I still find Epi fishy, and I could also get behind a LC vote tomorrow when he can better defend himself, but Sorsha has been far too quiet this phase with her hanging on the edge. I trust BR's judgment right now.

I just hope this isn't a mistake.

That's a good case of WIFOM. If you're mafia, would you nightkill someone who proceeds to lynch civilian after civilian?

If you're following Epignosis around all game, I assume you don't think he is mafia. Why do you want to lynch him today?
Have you read my posts, Marmot?
A part of why I think Epi is bad is because although I was following his cases thus far with an air of deference because he has been putting out cases against people. But these cases have been wrong.

Another answer is that he is civ and has been leading these charges against civs by mistake as wont to do, and that is why he is still alive.

Epi is someone that is calculated and can back up his stories no matter how alignment, so he is always a tough one to pin. You have more experience with him than I, but I'm following a hunch. Again, I'm not settled, but we need to start producing and it has just made sense to me this phase that he is the head of the snake.

Can anyone else confirm this? I know Epi isn't one for meta, so just because he hasn't done it before doesn't mean he won't change up strategies.

I would consider changing my vote to Sorsha because at this point that's 2 people vouching for Epi's civiness and it's making me slightly uncomfortable

That's pretty crappy. I'm pretty sure civvies, at least some, have voted for you and they need to change it now.

A Sorsha vote is a good bet. I will vote to save Epignosis. I'm confidant he is not bad.

If you are not confidant, like I am, about Sorsha then vote LC. I will switch my vote to him to save Epignosis.

Also Matt is a bad vote. So don't vote there. If he was bad he would have never tried to push suspicion on me.
Why are you so confident Epi is good?

I want to give LC the same grace that a bunch of you gave me when I was silent, and not vote him today.
I just am. Something about is play is screaming civvie to me. Also, if I'm right about LC and Sorsha I very much doubt Epignosis is bad. If Epig was bad, I'd be dead. He thinks I won't be lynched and therefore I would be a liability to him.

Re: Downton Abbey Mafia (Day 6)

Yo.

I'm actually really perturbed by Lady Rose. Like, I have literally no idea what she is doing.

As far as we know, she has insanified Wilgy to speak in weird caps lock cipher, and just today, LC seems to be afflicted with the same stupid cipher.

Forgive my bluntness but if LC's insanity is legit, Lady Rose is inept. I mean come on:
She provides a bit of fun to the thread by insanifying a player each night with the insanity of her choice
It's her choice to use her powers, but so far, that would mean she has done 2 insanifies in 5 cycles, and both times have been the exact same stupid insanity.

This just seems too unlikely to be true.

I think LC is faking.

She responds to Llama and Dom with this...
Illyria wrote:Because I could not decide where he fell, and I know BWT (or did) he was the only player that I knew upon whom I was waffling. I have the new to me people in a ??? category right now until I get a better feel for them as we go.
The red is a lie. Let's go back to her original post...
Illyria wrote:I have never read BWT right, this game proves no exception.

D Faraday I am not sure.

Dom, you have been making my eyebrow crick for the last day-- to be fair I can not tell if there are still the vestiges of the puppy in there or if it is something else.

LC... I.. am not sure... but I worry. I have yet to dileneate if that is from Mafias Past or this one.
BWT, in fact, was NOT the only person she knew "upon whom she was waffling". She was clearly waffling on both Dom and LC, as well, so WHY would she use that reason? It's a flat out lie.

Now, I'm sure Epi or someone will say "Why would she lie blah blah blah" and y'know what, I have no idea. But it is what it is. She was questioned about BWT, and in return, lied as an answer. Take that as you will.

Why, you ask? I dunno, ask her. Please, everyone, let's ask Illy.

Illy are you bad?

Linki - Scotty, how do you explain Epi being taken off the poll twice if he's bad? Just unfortunate targetting by the civ who takes peeps off the poll?
Well on your last point about Epi being taken off the poll- I know. That's the biggest strike against him being bad, honestly. I can only put so much trust in a civ and would think it odd that a civ would do that so often unless they were sure. I would expect one of the ones off the poll to actually be the role that is doing that, and Epi definitely qualifies.

Epi is a person that has put blind trust in civs so far this game. Who's to say the one taking him off the poll is because they trust him, and not necessarily because they share BTSC with him?

What does everyone think of just Illy, the Doomstress of Downton? I posted quite a bit about her, I thought.

I don't believe she "had no idea" she missed two votes. Elohcin strikes me as someone who would PM you if you missed two consecutive votes and would be like "so hey, ummmm what up?"

I think she very clearly avoided two civ bandwagons on both Days 1 and 2.

I believe she asked way too many mechanical questions at the beginning of the game, even asking if green was still OT. Like, I'm looking at the button now, and it even says OT. You press OT, you type in some stuff, it comes out green.

But I guess she's alright cuz Epi the President of Civ Lynches says she's on the level. Honestly I'd be down with an Epi lynch too, but I won't vote that way today, I wanna get dat Illy!

Derpa derpy derp derp derp
I am on the fence with her. On one hand, I was mildly suspicious of her for asking those mechanical questions and didn't find her input to be stirring the pot at all. Behavior that could be Mafia.
On the other hand, she is coming back after being away for a while and I don't know how she operates. Spacedaisy probably knew her better in that sense, which is a shame.

I think Epi being bad gives new life to the game. I do think that Illy could be a candidate for evil, but if I had to guess, I'd suppose that at least one baddie has their hand in the honey and has been churning butter with that honey (if you get my drift), while the others 1/2 are sitting back in their reclining chair.

The first group cannot be Mrs. Patmore. The second group cannot be Mrs. Hughes.

ika and Scotty fall into both categories, meaning it is more probable that they are bad than everybody else. With thirteen living and three bad, at first glance, everyone has a 23% chance of being bad. However, ika and Scotty have a 27% chance of being bad.

Assuming a successful kill on someone other than Scotty or ika, that puts the percentages at 25% and 30%, respectively.

If you are a civilian, that puts the percentages at 27% and 33%, respectively.

If you believe sig is good, as I do, that puts the percentages at 30% and 38%, respectively.
Resorting solely to statistics is a terrible way to frame the next lynches. You're disregarding all content and intuition and leaving it to your spreadsheet, which is only part of the equation.

In roulette, by placing a singular bet on red, there's a 47% chance you will hit red. Every time.
But this isn't roulette. It's poker. You account for your odds, sure, but in the end based purely on the hubris of thinking a person has a specific set of cards will lose you hands more often than not.

I'm about to do a show so I don't have the time to properly respond to your exhaustive smear campaign against me, but it makes sense to me. This is probably your longest "case" against anyone so far this game, and it comes on the heels of the person that is trying to show the magician for what he really is: a framer.

Before I forget: ika could very well be good. I saw somewhere in there that you said ika and I could be on the same team. Ok.

Let's lynch you then. I was fully ready to lynch him yesterday, but the more I think about it, any kind of case I will make against you is going to be squashed. Why? You're probably a better arguer than I. Can't be helped. You setting up another case against me is the last straw, however. I know I am good, and so far your cases have been fruitless. You have a sort of arrogance, if I may be so bold, in that you are headed in a correct direction. This could be a civ trait, but I view it more and more as a man with a mission to steer the thread. And I think that is dangerous the longer we go on.

Also I think the case you just made about Sorsha makes her look bad, not good, like you concluded.

Starting to be more unsure about Epi. I thought at first he and Polo could have had BTSC but his cases have been...bad, to say the least.

I also want to point out that the lowest posters are all voting for Nero right now. That makes me nervous that he is not bad- and his defense seems like a defeated civ :shrug2:

Re: Downton Abbey Mafia (Day 5)

Voted ika.

Sorry I've been gone most of the weekend. Busy stuff.

The results of the champs game came out and ika did in fact kill silver n1. This seems eerily similar.

Dropping in to vote for Nero. Nothing he has said in defense of his leading 4 votes all day has made me think he is anything but bad.

Nope. I didn´t slip before. You guys made it seem like Wilgys reads were only on mafia, which is odd since he checks both civ and baddie BTSC apparently. I got confused for a moment :faint:

My scum reads are: Scotty, Sig, Lorab

My civ reads are: Ika, Epignosis

Sig probably only started the wagon on Wilgy to save himself :suspish: Im cursing myself for following through with it at his suggestion. I don´t trust you anymore Sig.
I don't understand. Sig didn't start the wagon. Epi did, and you even voted for Wilgy BEFORE sig.

I think your memory is failing you, Nero.

Re: Downton Abbey Mafia (Day 4)

Let's looksie why I got votes yesterday:

Nerolunar has a pretty straightforward day 4. He throws out names to suspect:

I wouldn´t lynch Ika. He is a solid townread for me, as is Epignosis.
He doesn't seem calculated at all to me. Long Con is someone who I would call calculated and that isn't unique to this game.

How would you describe their behavior in Turf Wars? What were their alignments and that game?
Scotty was way more laid back and Sig was being very messy, although he did receive heat by everyone. They were both civs.
But he isn't the first to vote on anyone. He's fishing.
He was the first to suggest that I am not laid back in this game. I'm still pretty laid back, but while I was getting votes from y'all I was anything but. Again, thanks for not lynching me while I had glue in my mouth.
thellama73 wrote:I'm putting my vote on Scotty for now. The more I think about him, the more I suspect he's been flying under the radar this whole time.
Then llama immediately follows with this post, which was completely out of the blue, considering he hasn't shown this kind of suspicion of me this whole game. I also find it VERY hard to believe that I've been flying under the radar with the second most posts in the game at this point.
Nerolunar wrote:

I feel you.

Scotty
Well lookie! Someone bought your weak ass suspicion so now you're on it like donkey kong. I amend what I said before- YOU look more suspicious than llama because of this vote.
Nerolunar wrote:Im more inclined to lynch Scotty this phase as I find him to be the most suspicious right now. I won´t oppose Lorab either.
Epi gets in on the fun:
Epignosis wrote:At present, I would be willing to vote sig or Scotty, but my willingness needs reason.
Even though:
I don't do, "Hey help me lynch this guy" and "join me and vote that guy!"
Following with:
Epignosis wrote:I voted silenced Scotty. I gather he is silenced because only he and Illyria have not posted, but he has votes but has said nothing.
So what is the reasoning you just described you needed? That I was silenced by a civ? Wtf is this vote. Would you let me put my hands down your pants if I said I was your doctor? No?
Nerolunar wrote:Scotty is silenced? didn´t realize that before someone pointed it out. I think its kinda shitty to vote for a silenced person so I will move my vote.

Lorab

Suspicion still lingers from yesterday. I feel like she is currently trying to clean it up but so far Im not convinced.
How noble of you switch now that you saw the moral dilemma.

Llama kept his vote on me all day phase. He never added anything more of note, besides eating the bait from Nero.

I grade Llama's vote at a D+ . I grade Nero's at a D- . I grade Epi's at a C- .

Like what actual suspicions can I even respond to here? Someone enlighten me.

Re: Downton Abbey Mafia (Night 4)

Thanks for not lynching me today while I was holed up in the basement. I will respond in the morning to what I'm sure are rivoting reasons why I was the lead lynch for a while.

Also brief thoughts off the top of my head:

Llama seems bad to me. Nero seems bad as well. I'd be down with a Nero lynch tomorrow.
I trust Epi right now.
I am willing to leave LoRab alone, as well as Daisy.
I trust ika.
MM is still a ??? to me.
Matt...is about as hopeless this game as Bernie is to win the nomination.
More tomorrow.

LoRab wrote:
Epignosis wrote:Lorab, stop defending yourself. If you are good, then who is bad? Go.
If people stop making cases about me, I'll stop defending. In the meantime, I would like to preserve my life.

Who is bad? As I said, I still have an eye on Wilgy. Not a huge suspicion, but he's on the list of people I'm carefully watching.

I eyeballed that one post of Ika's, but I don't really suspect him overall. That one post made my eyebrow twitch.

As I said, I'm now thinking about the folks who bandwagoned me. I realize that no one else knows that I'm civ, but I know that I am, so I'm thinking of it that way. I can't help but think that Daisy was being saved with votes for me--look at the order of votes in the lynch poll--I start getting votes outside of Epi's after Daisy has several votes on her.

In all, of those who voted me, I don't actually supect you, Epi, even though you were an early and vocal voice against me. I think your suspicion of me, while misguided, is your honest opinion.

Nero's vote was suspicious--he didn't really mention me before that, and didn't really say much when he voted, just that he was convinced. Seems like a baddie vote adding votes on to the chosen target and to save a teammate. Matt, I have no idea. DF we know was civ. MM has been reading civ to me, but I'm not so good at reading MM. Sig is a question mark. Polo I am starting to suspect because he's been playing the newbie card a bit, and because from the vote order, it looks like he was jumping onto my lynch because then he could hide.

Of those that didn't vote for me, I suspect Scotty a bit. I feel like he was twisting things and presenting facts in a skewed way in order to make me look bad. He also, by not voting for me, could be setting up for later in the game so that a glance at votes won't show that he was a prime player in the lynch train against me. In my experience, it is baddies who plant the seeds for a bandwagon, and they then let the civies do the bulk of the dirty work. In this case, I think that Scotty planted the seeds...but i also think that there are those that voted for me for nefarious reasons.

So, I'm mostly looking at Daisy and Scotty, and to a lesser extent Polo. Wilgy is a tier down from that. The others I mention here (or whom I'm not thinking of at the moment) are all in various places of no idea to I think they're civ.
If Daisy were being saved as you hypothesize, how would that look in relation to me? Am I jumping on a bus opportunity early?
I want to say i don't suspect you any more, but the truth is I found myself taking more of a break from you and following a leap of faith against Spacedaisy, who, btw, appears to me more and more of a baddie attempting to claw and scrape her way out of the toaster.

You call me setting up seeds, I call letting my seeds sit on the sill unplanted because I'm uncertain if they will grow into an illegal marijuana plant or a sensible Rhubarb bush. :shrug2:

Re: Downton Abbey Mafia (Day 3)

LoRab needs to get back in here and throw any sort of defense together or she is toast.
Meanwhile, I think there is a lot of info to go on here if Daisy is bad, which I'm thinking more and more might be the case.
If she is good, then...fuck sticks.
