Hilarity.

Also hilarious that you jerks had to wait until you knew I was not going to be around to lynch me.

It's like you knew that, had I been around, I would have never let you vote me out. :feb: You know it's true. I don't blame you folks for taking the coward's way out. Too bad I didn't have to survive to win. My ghost literally saved S~V~S' life and subsequently secured our baddie win.

Next time, you'd better kill me so hard that my identity gets erased from the forum.
My Day 1 vote was a grudge vote from Flash. :P

My Day 1 case was fabricated as hell. :nicenod: I even backed off of TinyBubbles before you were lynched.

But hey, after a couple days, you still weren't looking so hot, so I figured I must be right.
 OH yeah, I wasn't "looking so hot". You must mean the awesomely real cases that connected me to TinyBubbles, sig, Cobalt, or whoever the other player was that I had no connection to.

Every single case made against me was made up and wrong. The only people who can even come close to saying they had a legitimate case against me were the people who suspected me "on gut".
Golden wrote::D

Oh, another thing LC - did you legitimately think I was on team webber, or were you thinking it was simply an advantageous feud?
I think we knew you were Indy at that point. :haha: By the way, we never targeted you for the kill on Night 2. We targeted Epignosis, and somehow it was redirected to you while you were protected. Just in case Scotty thinks he has great instincts for predicting the baddie team's kill... well, not that time. Pure, crazy luck. ;)
Golden wrote:I have to admit, the Flash popped through my mind in that final day as I was thinking about the fact that whatever decision I made could determine whether LC/BR backed up and won another game together.

I still can't get over the fact that somehow every baddie team Bass is in wins.
Bass was Indy in Flash, not part of our team. This is the third game this year that Black Rock and I have gotten to a win together and basically brought Bass along for the ride. It's crazy!
Hah! Great instincts? Hardly. Considering I kept trying to save someone that wasn't even on my team?

But man, sounds like you had it all figured out. Can't wait to try and take you down a peg or two the best game we play. You seem like the guy that sits in your armchair in the lounge staring at the heads of game you killed on your safari, while smoking a pipe and murmuring to yourself, "yes, I did this." :mafia:

Heh you too dude. I felt like it was all for naught but I love puzzles, and hope that it at least added to someone civ getting some clues. I liked your strategy of revealing stuff and yet keeping stuff to yourself, especially toward the end there. I'm interested to see how your gameplay changes when you're full-out for the civ cause.

I know you said you were actively campaigning for the civs this game, and it sure felt that way, but I can't help but think there might have been a different way about it mid-late game if you were a Warm-blooded civperson ;)

I LOVED this game. I loved re-writing the songs. A friend of mine helped me pick and write the first one, since I'm a lot less familiar with Sondheim than other Broadway writers, and from there I did my homework and started listening to the songs and playing with lyrics myself (I felt so goofy, too, but in a good way). I'm glad other people seemed to enjoy them as well  I'm also glad I got to exercise some actual civilian skills to the last day - it's something I've never been able to do since I usually get NK'ed in the middle of a game when I'm good. I knew I was probably being bamboozled in some way near the end, but it really was a crapshoot for me by the last lynch. I should go back to never trusting anyone, ever again, but I've said that before :P Win or no win, fabulous game, everyone! (And perfect timing before the long drive tomorrow). Congrats, winners!
GREAT job on these, ninja. It was so enthralling to read them and figure out which songs you were parodying!

Totally thought you were Bonnie and Clyde by even around Day 12. But no one was pounding it home, so it sounded like someone knew something or else read between the lines.

Not knowing the roles or functions threw me through a loop. MM's save confused me and made me think some weird Indie for sure.
DFaraday I didn't really suspect at all. I trusted Sloonei like he was my parent. That could have been bad, but turned out ok.
I KNEW either nutella or splints were bad, but couldn't deduce it before I died. Sorry nutella.
I was completely against lynching the MIAs since the other teams were so active, but honestly they were hurting the civs more than hurting. During the midgame, this is the case.

As SVS said, it helped in the late game to narrow down who was left, but midgame? Fuck that noise. (Or in this case, silence.)
Lack of role info and lack of participation from like 8 PEOPLE during one day was torture and I didn't know what to do.

Congrats to Team Wildhorn and the indies that won. You won fair and square

linki- @ Golden
that's fair. Gotta do what you gotta do to win. I see that Sloonei was the most confirmed civ.

Re: [ENDGAME] Bullets Over Broadway Mafia

Argh. What an agonizing loss. This game pulled at my heart strings. I have the answers to trivia on a doc at home because I love this shit.

I love musical theater, which is most of the reason I even came here. So it pains me that I died right before trivia, where I would have won something most likely. Ah well.

I think I matured in my mafia-life a lot through this game. Thank you Dom for hosting- I had a blast.
Golden wrote:I don't know why I survived the night 2 attempted kill. But I'm glad I did.
You're welcome.

I also saved Sloonei Day 3. And then, I got really pissed off because I started saving people in the order they were killed, but the day before they were killed. And I couldn't save the same person in a row.

Here's my save list:
N1- no one
N2- Golden (saved)
N3- Sloonei (saved)
N4- Golden
N5- Sloonei (It was 50/50 with FZ. FZ dies)
N6- timmer (wanted Sloonei, but can't protect 2 in a row, Sloonei dies)
N7- Golden (wanted timmer, but can't protect 2 in a tow, timmer dies)
N8- JJJ (my first pass)
N9- Epi (I dead)

Golden had me fooled. Thought he was civ early game for sure. Got me really curious why no one was killing him as we went on after Day 7 though.

The 2 times Dom had to correct a mistake and make people miraculously come back to life? He forgot about my save n2 on Golden, and forgot about my ability to survive a lynch on n9.

I thought I was doing a great doctor role early game, and then backed up and screwed it up after night 4.

Btw @Dom, why did no one kill on n4?

2) The day nutella missed the vote, Scotty voted FOR nutella. :ponder: Nutella appeared to be silenced that day.

Now with all of these votes being placed on lynched players, this may just be coincidental as a result of similar playstyles and reactions. I think there may be something more there with the nutella/Scotty pattern though.

Day 3- one of the last to vote for sig. Her entire sig suspicion was a blurb in one post Day 2, where she says there may be some merit to
Day 4- Broke the tie on GMan/LC to vote for LC.
Day 5- one of the last to vote for GMan.
Thanks for restating what I said yesterday, MM

1) As for my voting and wishing to speed up the vote, I still stand by that because I was growing impatient. GMan had basically showed his hand at that point. And that was a landslide. I was willing to bet no one was changing their votes.
2) As she said, she wasn't silenced, and that was also the time I got pinged from her and that's when I started tunneling hard on her.

Okay, yes I skimmed it, because it came up while I was posting, but I chose to comment because I thought he was a good name to bring up and from my skim you had some good points about him regarding LC, his vote record, and his generally "safe" play so far (I really agree especially with that since he's totally blended in).

linki: well I admit I hadn't actually examined the actual vote order, I had just noticed that there was a big push for niju at the end but that bass was still lynched and I drew a false conjecture. Or the teammate saw that niju had suspicion and decided to go with the other popular suspicion to be safe. But again at this point I'm really not assuming that niju's bad, so this is all ridiculous speculation.
Faraday is an interesting one. He DOES have so few votes and I hadn't realized it before. Sloonei said something like Day 3 to the likes of "He doesn't post much, but when he does, it's helpful" then the next day went back on his notes and said something like, "Well, actually he hasn't been all that helpful come to think of it." He's been like the assistant to the assistant head coach of a football team. Backs up the most like-minded suspicions and yet shouldn't be on payroll.

Re: [Day 9] Bullets Over Broadway Mafia

Funny story about Andrew Lloyd Webber. I was once dining at the Chiltern Firehouse (lovely place, expensive as balls) in London and in walks ALW, by himself. I recognize him immediately by his stupid face and pompous gait. Sits down to read the paper. Orders tea. Tea comes, but it didn't have a lemon wedge. Blows up at the waiter, spewing little nuggets like " shite standards of service" and "lacking brain cells". People are trying to eat their duck confits and pretend that they don't hear this prick yelling about a missing lemon. He then gets up, and leaves. Didn't pay. Didn't wait for his lemon.

The guy's a class act.

Also, Andrew, if you're listening, don't kill me tonight. Thanks bae :hugs:

nutella wrote:God damn it :|

@Scotty: Can you explain why this makes you think either I or splints is bad? I don't understand the reasoning there. Suspecting Bass doesn't make me bad, it makes me a civ who misguidedly wanted to lynch someone who was acting suspicious as hell. But if you have legitimate reason to suspect Splints I'd be happy to pursue her further.

I am also happy with a Niju lynch tomorrow. I think it is likely that her teammates piled onto the Bass vote.
So I had based a lot of my suspicions primarily over the voting record, and then went back to people's posts to see what they said and why they voted. Bass was a Class A bandwagoner. As were you. The only time Bass voted independently from the group was for himself, and you. You called him out on Day 4, but voted insurance on LC instead of GMan or Bass.

Whats got me into trouble the past few days is my tunnel vision though. And I've been tunneling into you so hard as of late that I can't see day. I thought for a pinch that you had voted for Bass, but you never did until last night. I had it in my mind that you and he were bitter enemies and were on different teams based on how you guys accused each other. That is not the case and I apologize.

In regards to ninja, and this has been discussed slightly by other people, but I have a few cases while I'm tunneling on her:

CASE 1)
I was reading light civ on ninja yesterday until those 2 hours before the deadline last night, when at least 4 people were confident on her being bad.
nutella and ninja have almost identical voting records. That's interesting to me. The only recordable difference is their Day 1 votes. The main evidential difference is how systematic and strategic ninja's looks.
Day 3- one of the last to vote for sig. Her entire sig suspicion was a blurb in one post Day 2, where she says there may be some merit to
Day 4- Broke the tie on GMan/LC to vote for LC.
Day 5- one of the last to vote for GMan.

CASE 1.1)
Sig.
nijuukyugou wrote: I like [Sloonei's] sig case. I tend to get lost in large games with so many people to keep track of, especially near the beginning, and I'd forgotten about him. He's been weirding me out with the wishy-washy votes and posts, too.

I see many votes are on sig; I will go that way as well, today (I feel better about voting him than TBubbles). I like the cases presented on him from what I last read, and I had some bad feelings come from him, too. Sorry I'm not particularly articulate and for the drive-by vote.
sig wrote:Another drive by vote, *sigh* but I still say Nijukk is a strong town.
Timmer the mafia can silence I have never played a game were the town can.
Sig dies. Then ninja starts distancing herself from sig:
nijuukyugou wrote:Sloonei's first post analyzing connections to sig:
http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 69#p154469
I like most of this analysis, mainly for the commentary for LC being bad in connection to LC.

The other one also caught my attention for analyzing sig's so-called reads on people:
http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 89#p154489

I must comment on the last part for reasons. One is this, because it's driving me absolutely nuts:
sig wrote:0-10 10 highest 1 lowest
, nijuukyugou 5 she was less scum before her switching andthen saying she would just run and lynch
What in the name of god's green earth is this? I have done no vote switching this entire game. You see what happens to liars? :P I do like that sig tries to throw shade at me, calling me suspicious, then "hard civ" when he's on the way down, then wishy-washy'ing his way back to "suspicious." I see what you did there...well, kinda. Nice try.
Sloonei picks up on her lack of noticeable "pings" on sig by saying: "The inconsistency continues. If she was suspicious of sig for his Day 1 behavior, why is she not noticing/commenting on it until after he's been lynched?"
and her responses to Sloonei's interrogation of her were attempts to again distance herself from sig's "wishy-washy shade". She basically said she had a ping on him, but forgot to post about it..."I often end up reading pages of mafia posts at the ends of days and get pings as I read, but if I don't save the quotes that ping me or physically type out names as I go, I won't remember, but I'll remember how I felt when I do go back and look at people."
Very smooth, yet lacking substance.

CASE 1.2)
GMan.
nijuukyugou wrote:
Golden wrote:So I went back to look at timing.

Epi dies. Epi replaces in. Epi has (I think) only two posts - one where he says 'I know who killed me' and one where he says 'my suspicions haven't changed'. Then TGG asks to be subbed out.

I honestly think it's very consistent with someone who was part of a team that killed epi, that they killed them for cause, and was upset when he was able to sub back in and express the particular sentiments that he did. I think G-Man and LC are a team. I feel less sure that bubbles is, but she definitely could be.

Does it suck that someone subbing out on a matter of principle could sink a team? Yes. But this is why you should always keep your cool in mafia. I guarantee you, when people complain about things being unfair in this game, it's almost always mafia. Because they perceive it has harmed their chances. I don't think Epi's views necessarily held great weight, and I think the reaction to him subbing back in provides a whole lot more information about how important they believed killing epi to be.
This is a fascinating analysis and, since Epi seems to be silenced and absent, dare I say interesting thought process. I like the ideas posed here (about TGG perhaps getting frustrated and mafia getting frustrated in general). It's a bit of a stretch but entirely possible. However, I'd like to give G-Man the BOTD for today at least since he's a totally different player than TGG. We'll see how it goes.
nijuukyugou wrote:Yikes. Last time I checked, LC was way ahead of G-Man in votes, and now it's a tie? I'm not terribly surprised, given the number of people who've expressed suspicion of G-Man in the thread, but I thought we were avoiding this situation? Then again, as Sloonei has said several times, it's been a lot more quiet during this Day period. It's been nice for keeping up!

This is one of the weirdest mafia games I've played in a while, because I've been in agreement with the top cases almost every time. I probably should be more concerned about that than I am, but it does make it easier on me come voting time, and I guess I'll be more concerned if anything goes wrong this time around. I'm going to vote LC, because I've felt his baddiness since Day 1 and I've agreed with many of the cases and points brought up about him regarding this baddiness. I think the cases for G-Man being bad are pretty...er, good  and I think voting for either will give us good info, but I gotta vote some way and LC's been on the chopping block for quite some time. I'm definitely still looking at Cobalt, too, especially since he's quieted down like crazy (hiding a bit?), but that vote would go nowhere today. So, voting LC.
Ninja doesn't post for 24 hours. Then, when GMan already has "the majority" for his fake ploy,

Not yet. One more vote please. :feb:
Well, okay then

CASE 2)
Sloonei was killed by Webber. Who was Sloonei's top suspect before that? Ninja.
Could it be a frame? Ehh...the pattern Webber has been killing every night has me thinking no. (spoiler alert- they've been rather transparent):

Night 1- Epi. Now he called out LC and Cobalt. You could call this a frame for team Webber. Had some civ vibes early on.
Night 3 & 5- Sloonei, who was universally civ and had some good reads on some bad people.
Night 7- timmer, who had ninja ranked as high profile lynch candidate below BR. Read as civ by a lot of people.

CASE 3)
Sloonei suggested that mafia would want a member on both sides of the aisle for the PMs. Only Sloonei, me, FZ and ninja received the PM about Jason Robert Brown. (Still wondering when- and if- the right time to talk about it is) I had FZ as a civ read, as well as Sloonei, so that leaves ninja.
Minor point- when asked about the 1st night PM in a lineup of MM, sig, nutella, TH and ninja, ninja was the only one to respond, which appears helpful.

I now have tunnel vision turned on, and I want to vote for ninja tomorrow.

I WANT there to be more vocal people. That's kind of what I've been saying all along. Having non-posters hurts us more than it helps us for sure.
Me smart? I'm not that bright. I haven't had a math class since my sophomore year of high school and I only got into college because I was pretty.
Or something like that.

Someone like Bass seems like a good target for Wildhorn and Webber alike, because he has been participating, although minimally enough, (unlike about 5-6 people on the player list) that he could be a high profile civ role keeping a low profile.

It sucks. It really sucks, and this is purely speculation, and probably holds no bearing but if I were dealt a shitty role and knew I wasn't going to have that long to commit to a game, I would maybe be MIA too. Though that's mroe hypothetical because I would never just willingly leave a game after it started.I don't mean to judge absences in the game as a sign of alignment, but I feel like absences have been a big part of this one. I don't know what real life reasons have pulled those people from the game- hell, shit happens- I'm just saying objectively it's not a positive for civs.

I will take credit for having tunnel vision the past few days. I apologize, and vow (if I survive tonight) that I'll do more listening. But groupthink was a big problem the past few days, and I'm totally receptive to other thoughts. The fact there was any traction on ninja towards only the last 2 hours tonight also makes me want to pull my hair out. Changeable votes are a gift. Why not vote early suspicions, instead of attempting to lock it down last second?

I'm still confident that one of nutella/splints is bad (though Splints backed off of Bass to an extent). Nutella was staunchly anti-Bass throughout the game, and I suspected her regardless of the Bass suspicions. Bass flipping good leads me to believe she is bad.
Ninja will get my full attention as well tomorrow, (should I still be alive)

I sincerely hope Bass doesn't flip civ because that would honestly piss me off. Like a flirty girl leading me on at the bar, drunkenly suggesting I drive her home and then when we get there confessing she has a boyfriend and thanks for the ride, ya sap.
That's what it would feel like.

Also fun side note: Epi and I both have the same number of posts this game.
We do not.
Ah, you are correct, I'm sorry. I was looking at overall posts on this site. I have 4 less posts. So give me a few minutes and I'll get it back up to match.

Re: [Day 9] Bullets Over Broadway Mafia

Here's a question for you, JJJ. Why did you vote Bass (the last to vote btw) right before the deadline, and now before the deadline want to go anti-Bass?
I mean, you knew Bass wasn't getting lynched yesterday by placing a vote making it 2-6, and now you're just interested in making the EOD interesting.

BTW EPIGNOSIS HE SAID "INTERESTING"!! TRIGGER WARNING!!!!

Both. Preferably the later, obviously. But that's the problem with laziness. And the fact that I don't know how he normally plays because I don't know you people.

My big concern with voting Bass (and it doesn't look like I'm going to change my vote) is that he has been lazy. And that he could be just this lazy, willy-nilly voter at the end of phases kind of civ bugs the hell out of me.

the lazy ones are the ones that really could swing either way, but Bass seems too lazy with his responses to make me feel like he's a benefit to civs

JJJ
Epignonsis 2.0
Canucklehead
S~V~S 2.0
OK, nothing too in depth, but off the top of my head right now:
JJJ: From your reads and attempt to be the stand-in for Sloonei with thorough, committed ISOs, I read you as civ right now. You have one vote away from Cobalt which honestly looks good right now, but there's more game to be played.
Epi: I'm going to preface that I read Epi 2.0 as indie. Epi's had some pretty good reads on both sides of the aisle. Caught both a Webber and Wildhorn mafia member, without bandwagoning. Then he has some moments of mystification that make me want to chug some Everclear and cinch my belt 2 notches too tight.
Canuckle: A light civ read on canuckle. Hasn't raised any red flags for me. But haven't really looked into him much at all. Will do that tonight.
SVS: I like her not adhering to the status quo since she's been here. Has had her own voice ("in the darkness" as you call it) and I'm reading light civ, but still need to see some of her votes materialize with results until I make a definitive judgment call.

Totally resigned? No. But actually the main reason I am voting for Bass today is because I will learn something. Now it's a gamble, as Cobalt's vote was. Except Cobalt's vote served the purposes of 1) eliminating someone who was a catalyst for confusion and 2) hopefully his turning bad which would help me pin people that were staunchly stand-offish.

I've stated elsewhere what I will glean from Bass if he flips bad or good. Obviously I do want him to flip bad, but if he doesn't, I have it in my head that one of nutella/splints is definitely bad.

If a 4 vote tally is a landslide then sure.

If you can convince me that someone is more pressing than Bass right now, then I'd definitely consider changing my vote. But JJJ just placing votes for the sake of placing votes is not necessarily a good idea. Put your votes wherever, just please don't make it a tie.

Also I don't understand people's trepidation in casting votes early in these changeable vote days. There's like 6 votes cast right now? It gives people an idea of who is in the suspicion mix. Sloonei suggested that like day 4 and I tend to agree.
