I asked Llama about that power because i was attempting to use that as an excuse, and was told that we would be notified if the lynch was altered. So it doesn't look like it.

Re: Rocky and Bullwinkle - The Legend of Frostbite Falls [Da

Blast!
Good game civs, and good try fellow scum for trying to cover for my blowup early. I'm still amazed Epi and Elo were able to sniff me out early on. I still legitimately don't think I have a baddie game based on such a small sample size, but I could just be shortsighted. :meany:

Man, if we had taken out MP earlier when he was actually up for a lynch, this game would have been easier.

My initial instructions were to leave a specific emoji in the first few posts on day 2, and I actually missed bea's emoji in my initial and second read, so I was convinced that maybe my message was blocked or something since 3 different people used the :slick: emoji on day 2. Next time I need to be a little more specific.

I really enjoyed my character's mechanic (even though I only used it once for real, since LC blocked me night 2...and LC and Wilgy's blustering over Natasha's seduction message was enjoyable to witness. Thanks for a fun game, llama!

Long Con wrote:I voted for Wilgy. I don't think Scotty is bad. Natasha tried to seduce me to vote him on Day 3, but I was Scrooched at the same time. I thought that maybe the baddies were trying to protect Scotty by making me vote for him, but then the Scotty lynch happened anyway. If Scotty is Fearless Leader, then Boris and Natasha probably don't really want him dead.

Unless Scotty sent a message to them with instructions to try and get him lynched... for cred I guess? If you believe that, then lynch Scotty. I don't believe that. I don't believe that they can afford to lose numbers like that.

I thought that Epi might be going for the "early baddie teammate vouch" on Eloh, but then he was nightkilled. Again, it gives Elohcin some nice cred, but is it worth it with so few baddies? Probably not.

The PM from Natasha was written in a Russian accent. Like "Greetings, Lonk Con, ve vant you to doink ze vote for Scotty..." kind of stuff. It was creative, unnecessarily so. I thought maybe creative Epi would go that extra mile, but apparently not.

I have no doubt that they will kill me very soon. Probably tonight. Natasha told me not to tell anyone, so I have disobeyed on that front.
I really hope this doesn't break the rules of info dumping and get you mod killed because of it.

That's definitely interesting to note that the Mafia wanted me dead yesterday. They might just get their wish today. Unless the 3 remaining voters come together and see reason in voting Wilgy.

Listen, if I am wrong about Wilgy, and we can at least tie this up to give me a fighting chance, then I will walk happily into the noose tomorrow, and you will know beyond a doubt I am bad. But I am not bad and have been framed in such a way that I can't think of anything more to say than: :sigh:

Can you elaborate?
It is hard to explain; he just *feels* jabbier to me when he's bad, not unlike how I view LC when he's bad; he makes little one liner pokes at people for reasons I don't fathom. Which isn't to say *I* have to fathom everyone elses thoughts. But in LOST Again I read Scottys posts with my forehead scrinched up and one eyebrow almost in my hairline. In LOST Again, I could pretty much pull him out of a hat after a few posts. I am not seeing it as much here. He danced around it a bit more, IMO. Here he is pretty much sticking to his guns. He looks totally different to me than he looked in that game, and more like he does in the games I have seen him mislynched.

BUT God knows I could be wrong, though; see the last 2 lynches. My civ game always goes off the rails when I have to defend before I get a chance to settle in to the thread.

@Bea, yeah I kinda agree. But even if Llama were to allow votes for Matt (and in the past he has not cut replacements slack iirc) I would feel better letting him settle in. Replacing into a role taking suspish is not easy.

Which reminds me, I don't know about anyone else, but I thought Suspish-Gate in GOC was hilarious.
I appreciate you breaking down my baddie game dynamics. I legit wouldn't know since I've only ever been Mafia twice, but I'm sure next time I'm Mafia I'll mix it up. I am not Mafia this game, but love that my "baddie game" meta is being referenced as a reasoning to vote and not vote for me. :workit:

Wilgy has like, nothing of product except maybe a few comments?
Your tune changed mighty fast. You were suspicious of me as of day 2 followed by 'well he's probably just Scotty being Scotty' and immediately 'he's scum! Let's hang im!' Hmmmph.

Why the hell would I congratulate myself? Yes, I believe in lynching no-posters because imo it benefits town if the Mafia starts killing the vocal ones early on, leaving ghosts to talk. Mafia killing no-posters helps town even more, and if I were Mafia, I would be completely against killing off no-posters. Strategically that's a ridiculous, albeit kind, strategy for Mafia.

"Mafia love to talk about themselves" ok. I don't remember anyone saying that, but that's a very generalized statement that doesn't apply to everyone. I've known many a Mafia just keep to themselves and cruise on through the whole game. I just love to talk. It's what I do, and I usually die because of it. :shrug2:

Why is Wilgy suspicious to me? You just re-said exactly why Wilgy was suspicious to me: "nothing of product". And he has still brushed off my suspicion of him.

Sprityo, I don't think you are good, and had I not had majority I would have voted you based solely on this comment. It tells me you didn't read my previous posts and are reaching for the moon.

Just convoluted opinion that the other person can't properly defend against. The wine could be poison or not.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Scotty, this post makes me wonder about you. "More content = more power". I think it would be like you to do this kind of kill and then make a statement about it like that.

I am quite busy atm but when I get a chance, I am going to reread you.
Lol we were on a baddie team together once and now you think you know my baddie game so well?

Please reread me and let me know what you'd like me to respond to other than WIFOM. I like to talk, as you know.

As for your SVS theory, are you trying to frame SVS? :ponder:
This post drew my attention.

"Lol we were on a baddie team together once and now you think you know my baddie game so well?"

A few things awry about this nugget:

First, there are a handful of players who are obvious when they are civilian or mafia. I mean like three or four. Scotty is sophisticated enough not to be one of those. So it baffles me that he (thinks he) has a "baddie game," especially here, where he's (to my knowledge and not counting games he is currently in) only been mafia once.

Second, Elohcin didn't say anything about being on a team with him or knowing how he plays. She didn't make a definitive statement. She didn't say she was going to vote for him. She expressed an observational opinion and then said she would reread him. Why so serious, Scotty? lol indeed.

Third, I forget third.
1. I don't really have a baddie game. "It would be like you to do this kind of kill. The only time I have been Mafia with Elo is in Home Alone, and the only other time was "Lost Again", which she wasn't a part of. So of course I'm going to rebel at her talking like she knows what I would do as Mafia, since she only has one game to draw from. That's my point.

2. I basically just explained this above. I'm responding to all criticism about me as I can. I'm always serious, except when I'm not.

4. I forgot the third

I think you are less suspicious to me as you were to me in day 1, but a lot of my suspicion in you right now is predicated on MP/Matt flipping. You backed off considerably as Mp went to bat for you. Dropped off the face of the earth, if you will. But enough to come back and say you're up my asshole with suspicion, so there's that. Is there anything in particular you want me to respond to that I've missed, or am i just gonna stay in your crosshairs until you see me mislynchdd?
There isn't anything you can address specifically for me. I think you're bad more for the tone of your posts than anything you've said, really. I'll be home Saturday and hopefully if I'm still alive by then i can say more things and widen my scope.
Hmm. Ok.

The thing that I usually gravitate toward in games is concrete stats. Did this person vote this way because of this reason. I see save opportunities on day 1, but I find day 1 saves to be an aberration. My suspicion of you was hinging on your behavior and what I perceived as doublespeak in calling me out for making fluff posts when you yourself were fluffy as an alpaca. i don't like being suspected for little to no reason and I'd like to do what I can to change your mind on that, if you are in fact good. if.
I do not consider my case on you to be insubstantial just because it's based on tone. I usually judge people on their tone, how they interact with everything in the thread. It's worked well for me plenty of times in the past. But it is insubstantial in that I haven't shared any evidence for it in a while. This is a thing I'd like to do when I am home.
I'm pretty sure you already know I'm good.

I'm not. Lots of posting last night. I have read through, now I'll go back and do a couple of responses. I'd vote for Scotty. Not for Epi. Not for Eloh. Not prepared to slam it down on Sloonei/MP right now. Indiglo may be bad, I don't have a good read there right now, but I'll vote indi to save any of the folks I listed as not bad.
Why would you vote for me, Shorty?
Little things. Your barefoot like moose comment felt like a soft roleclaim that was sketchy and gave me a ping. I'd have to go back and really put together why, part of it is recalling your actions on Day 0/1 as questionable.

I know that's not anything solid. Guess you'd call it a gut feel.

I dun goofed by not going to the MoD and just walking away. I can't stress that enough; the Mod on Duty function is there and I think many of us, myself even included, aren't taking full advantage of its purpose. I want to thank Llama for hosting the great game and a big thanks to Matt for stepping in for me at this time. I'll be out for good now.

I absolutely detest getting stressed out by these games, but it doesn't seem to ever matter how much work I really have to do or how much I try not to involve myself in the game, it always eventually lands me in trouble now that I'm in the PhD program it seems. I just am battling some inner demons (and have been throughout the program) and I let my recent sense of insecurity with regards to my current (lack of, or at least that's my feeling) progress in the program spill over into the game. It's my own fault, really. I'm putting this in green because I don't feel it is appropriate for me to say anything else on-topic, but I realize that in the end all of what I'm saying will inevitably influence the game -- I wanted all of this to be said regardless. Even though I've flirted with taking playing breaks over the last half a year, I think I just really need to force myself away from playing for a while, get some perspective, and at least get through the next couple of semesters first. I took a couple of month break missing out on Recruitment, Champions, etc., but apparently it just doesn't matter because of everything I'm dealing with throughout the program. I just don't get any real social interaction in any aspect of my life right now, and you all are truly awesome and a treasured part of my life, so that's what keeps dragging me back into playing. I just really enjoy playing these games with you all so much. It's a weird conundrum.

Anyway, I'll be definitely around with Smashfest, other OT stuff, and I'm more than happy to host mafia games too -- that isn't nearly as stressful an experience for me. Guess I'll just have to exercise more self-discipline re: playing. For those of you who signed up for Turf Wars, I'll see you there soon.

I want to give Matt a chance here, but I still think MP's actions reflected on his role, and I can't shake that feeling that he is just a frustrated baddie.

I'm going to agree with Sloonei's sentiment that I have been entirely focused on Mp and could focus my attention elsewhere.

Sprityo and Wilgy are suspicious to me.

Sprityo for offering no reason why he suspects me, except that he thinks I should be at the bottom of the rainbow list. Well sprityo, I think horses should be made of cotton candy. Doesn't mean they are or ever will be.

Wilgy has not offered anything in this game in terms of substance. frankly I don't remember much of what he has offered to the table. He seems wholly agreeable and that always makes me pause.

Re: Rocky and Bullwinkle - The Legend of Frostbite Falls [Da

Actually, I missed that long linki. Can I just have a heart to heart with you for a sec, MP? I don't care what alignment you are, but let me be frank.

You are a great person. You put your heart into the ring of the game, even when you don't have time. And especially when you don't have time, I see that pull and that desire to want to be more involved even more, and I've been there. It stresses me the fuck out, and I know you must be even more stressed.

I think you are a great player and I would hate that you would quit in the wake of a perception where no one gives a shit about what you have to say, and how everyone seems out to get you. It's super frustrating, and it's not a reflection of who you are as a person or a player.

I wanted to quit after Recruitment IV because I had over 1,000 posts in that game, really had a great time but I spent WAY too much time ISOing people, doing everything in my power to win. But I always felt like I had people shooting me down, and when I died late in the game, and didn't win, it felt fruitless. Like, I expected everyone to have put in as much work and hours as I had that game, or at least that I would get a reward of some sort for the amount of effort I threw into it. I felt shorted and it was quite a demoralizing loss. I felt like a bad player and no one cared about what i did or didn't do.

I'm fairly new here, relatively. And I have seen a huge influx from the veterans of the site appealing more and more to emotion regarding the way things used to be, and the general feel of threads being more confrontational. I feel like there is a slight disconnect somewhere, and anticipate that the MOD on duty function is not being utilized: helping settle personal attacks on behaviors and ethics.

You're the man. This is your site as much as it is any of the recruits that make up for it. From student to teacher: I have found to take nothing personal online, and to approach things here as I would my work. I'm an actor as you know, and get rejected. A lot. When I mentally prepare for a role, and spend hours combing over sides and plays and songs and shit, and go in to the audition and think I fucking killed it, I used to get really overhyped. I expected something from the auditor. I had an end result, for sure. But where I went wrong, and what made me feel disenfranchised down the line, was that the results weren't coming, and it wasn't fun anymore. I forgot what it meant to be a performer, I forgot what I had signed up for. It started turning into a routine of getting up with guarded expectations, and a sad veil of desperation for wanting to be better.

But then I decided one day and just said "fuck it" and went in to just say the lines. Have a moment in a room with some others, and forget about it. I'd cram for an audition, walk in like I didn't have anything to fight for, and just did the part. And I started booking. And those that I was rejected from? I don't even remember those. I just remember experiencing a moment in time with some strangers.

in application to Mafia, I regrouped, and decided that it wasn't, in fact, the be-all-end-all if I didn't win a game. I've been personally attacked on my character, and it doesn't phase me. I rarely get incensed with games because I take nothing seriously. Lately I put in what I feel like I want to put in. And if people find that suspicious, then oh well. I don't owe anyone here anything, and I shouldn't expect people to believe me in any capacity of alignment.

You've had more experience than I have in Mafia, and for sure on this site. I ask that you don't let this get you down. Because I truly treasure everyone on this site, including you. I really do like playing with you. And I would hope that the pissing matches that some people have been getting into are just game-related and don't transition into the real world. My mom taught me the saying: "what other people think of me is none of my business" and I stand by it. We can't control what everyone says it does, but we can control how we take what other people say about or to us.

Also, you've just reminded me that I need to get new socks. No joke, I just noticed a giant hole on my left one right now. Don't buy 5-Star Walmart brand socks, kiddos.

If the strategy works, then I'm all for it. I'm not going to get into the semantics of your lists, because everyone has lists.
