Re: [END] Turf Wars: Battle of the Hosts

Awwwwww good guy Soneji. This is the kinda fucking level of humanity I LOVE about this site.

I feel like I learned a lot about a bunch of players in this game, but as the people behind the sock. Like, you play insanity games with 50 people on other sites and you get to know them as players and their special quirks and stylings, but it's only a facade. I feel like the games here are personable to a fault- yes we lie and have to create an image to advance our particular win goal, but I feel like a human being's personality and character shine through on this site more than any other.

I'm glad to get to know everyone and find it an honor that for the majority of people, this game is an extension of ourselves and at the end of the day we're a community that supports each other.

If I am lynched and show up good for your doubters (and chaindeath) who have latched onto me for a vote, can town still win? Mathematically?

I have a shitty defense right. Now sure, because it's a rushed shitty defense because of time constraints. I've had shitty votes and have had no luck with my reads in DDL or Boom

Aight. McCarthy has risen again. Look at my voting lines. I have been pretty in tune with Sloonei. I trust Turnip at this point. I wasn't involved with the Fuzz vote because I wasn't around. That seems to be a thing of contention. I think chaindeath and Quin are bad. They continue to live and not prove me wrong. Most of my reads have been based on other people that continue to live. If I look bad in voting, so does Sloonei. But I confident Sloonei is good.

I think they're very easy to link to one another, but that has a lot more to do with what Nero has said than what chaindeath has said. Given the chance that the link was deliberately drawn by a cop Nero, I think he should be gone first. If anyone has reason to trust Nero, then by all means speak out.
It makes sense. I was throwing around the possibility that both could be bad, for sure. I haven't been wholly satisfied with how Nero has gone about voting or leading discussion for a while. What really perked up my ears was the departure from the sig wagon in day 3, then casually ignoring it. Followed by jumping back on it 2 days later as if we were all still talking about it. Don't have time to go back to specifically place when that happened, but I do remember it weird.

That being said, my hangup over a few days has been whether or not to believe that 1 is bad and 1 is good. I do think that more people have defended chaindeath in specific situations which doesn't make me feel any better for him. It made me go "huh? Why does he look so civ to you?" I could be swayed to vote Nero if it goes in that direction, but we need definite baddies at this point.

question to you, prisoner: what has chaindeath done this game that has screamed a town personality?

Re: [DAY 9] Turf Wars: Battle of the Hosts

I see SVS has outlined her- for lack of a better word- "case" against me. It's based on meta, how she thinks I play when I'm bad. I sincerely hope you are bad, SVS, because if I hang your entire perception of meta might be shattered. You're piecing things in how you want to piece them in. I can't imagine that you aren't behind leading this witch chase back to me when we need most to not have another mislynch.

Are you seriously considering I look worse for wear because I'm not using green text? Because that's fucking bullshit.

i just made eggs

There. You happy?

I really don't want to believe you are bad, and I think we have better leads now than me or you, but do not outright get me lynched based on a meta "hunch" because you will lose this game [if you are good].

also I agree that i acting. Of course I'm acting. It's what I do by trade. That's why I'm traveling IRL. Everything i do has a flair, for sure, but it's still me. Acting is telling truths in imaginary circumstances. That's how I operate. Don't base my badness off of my behavior, but by my actions. Those are a lot harder to refute. If we were going by behavior, why the fuck is sig still alive? We've kept him around because, as DDL once said, "he is too scummy to be scummy". Whether or not sig is actually bad is not the point. The point is the standard by which you're accusing people needs to be exhibited across all people, and by makin a broad generalization about how you think I play is a dangerous game based on one of two games we've played together.

How bout this, SVS: look at the actions of my play in LOST and see if they all match up with this game. Then come back to me.

I said it myself a while back, whether chaindeath was alive or not wouldn't really have much of an influence on the flow of the game.
That's assuming I'm bad. Maybe I just found him to be easily accessible as an ISO and proved to look scummy to me.

Putting a vote on chaindeath for now. Quin, if chaindeath comes up as bad, then I'm not going to be cleared, I know. But I think a lot of people could get behind his lynch a bit ago.

I don't follow your thinking here. Does your survival have to mean anything, let alone be indicative of Quin's alignment? Who among the players already arrested do you feel made less sense than a Scotty arrest would have made up to this point? A ton of people are alive that "shouldn't be", at least according to popular opinion.

llama was a surprise for me. I didn't get the same townie feel either way. And I'm controversial to the point that Quin and I have been at each other for a while. To kill me wouldn't look good for me. Which also explains- as I've contemplated before- why SVS is still alive.
By keeping me alive, Quin is somewhere is in-between-land. In a way, both of us are.
Scotty wrote:I came to that conclusion just recently. Before that, Quin's act just made sense to me as a cop. He was helpful, if not too helpful at times.
This is not inspiring, Scotty. Are you accusing Quin of being so town that he's not town? What does "too helpful" look like, and how does it differ from a standard high-effort townie?

Not gonna lie. He's put forth cases, conjectures about the goings on of cop roles, and had moments where he looks good. But you said it yourself: Some things he has said appear like he knows too much already. Contributive, and shining a light in a storm by clarifying roles is something anyone can do, and does not necessarily build civ Cred.
Scotty wrote:Boom flipping bad would definitely affirm my feeling. But then, in this tunnel, the light is behind the Quin lynch. Boom flipping good does NOT absolve him, because of course cops would know he is town. I haven't been pulling for him as hard since that flip, but know that I still think he is bad, and now that he's got SVS on board I'm down to make this a duel between us.

Prisoner 509378 wrote:Scotty, I'm reviewing your posts with a narrow focus on your moves against Quin. I was looking for The Big Case that I assumed you made somewhere to get a fuller grasp of your feelings about him and then to compare it against his suspicion of you. I was a little surprised that, at least for the first half of the game, you didn't assemble a comprehensive case. You certainly expressed confident suspicion of Quin, and starting on Day 3 it became a constant thing.
Spoiler: show
Scotty wrote:I just did a read of Quin.

He's a cop.

Hey Quin, what is your opinion of sig? Straight up.
This was the beginning of Scotty Hates Quin. You "did a read" of him and came to a conclusive read: that he's a cop. I won't even concern myself with that, it's the next bit that is of interest to me. Why, at this moment, did you care about Quin's opinion of sig? This is not meant to be accusatory. I'm burrowing into your brain and extracting data fragments that will help the people in my laboratory determine your motivations.

Eventually you did produce a larger case against Quin, on Day 6.

In hindsight, Quin's thorough understanding of what the warden does, and the external prison thread, is of interest. Initially I thought it could just be implied from the role description, but that might be too generous.
Quin wrote:I had thought that arrested players get put into another thread which consists of the jailmates and probably the warden. Maybe they have some sort of goal to achieve in there?
The yellow bit seems to imply Quin knew something about the other people in the jail beyond just those who were arrested, which is not implied in the role description and indeed was a total secret until Day 5. The orange bit is less jarring, but perhaps still of interest just because of the language Quin used. The prisoners definitely have "some sort of goal to achieve", they have exactly that. So on one hand that's a good ass guess on Quin's part, and I can understand it being called too good. I don't know why the warden would just blurt this out into the game thread, that seems like an absolutely silly error for him to make. But it's possible. He doesn't even have to be the warden, he could be some other cop who chatted with the warden in BTSC about the nature of the prison.

Talk about this Quin. My confidence is shaken.

Otherwise, Scotty, there is one recurring theme to your analysis that I think needs to be revisited now. Your suspicion of Quin in this case seemed to strongly rely upon his relationship with Boomrique (you thought they'd make good cop team mates):
Scotty wrote:If Enrique/Boomslang is bad, Quin is a great candidate. Enrique was in no danger of getting lynched D1, and even though Quin keeps him in the periphery of his suspicions, he doubles back with "I'm feeling better about him" on day 2. How convenient. But no matter what I said or how i justified my Tranq vote, he keeps pushing the envelope. Quin continues to read Enrislang as town to this day.
Boomrique has since been lynched and flipped town. What impact does this have on your mindset?
What makes me even more confident Quin is bad is the link we have. The big reason I'm not dead, I feel, is that I could be on the right track, and as long as Quin is alive I am alive.

Quin is the Voldemort to my Harry Potter.

I came to that conclusion just recently. Before that, Quin's act just made sense to me as a cop. He was helpful, if not too helpful at times.

Boom flipping bad would definitely affirm my feeling.

He is bad, imo. He was really blendy before so I had no real opinion of him & only defaulted to bad. I could not remember a single thing he said

But his recent responses to questions leave me feeling a more concrete reason to suspect him.

Linki, yeah, I kind of agree with Sloonei re TH, but have no credible alternative to Occams razor, that would demonstrate that he isn't a civ. And the razor says he is. Especially with Boomslang, THs alternative in the lynch TH survived, being lynched and not surviving.

All right, trigger finger. Where the hell did this come from? So Soneji is bad, but you're willing to throw caution to the wind for me after having no real problems with me all game? I understand Quin wants me dead because he is bad, but the reason I even brought you up in the first place is because this: down the line I reassessed why I and other town-looking people hadn't been killed yet. And the town perspective as a whole has had you dancing in Disneyland this entire time, and it made me wonder why no one had killed you. Don't you think that deserves some scrutiny? It's not about me painting you or whatever.

I will pull quotes in the AM, but really, it's my gut. That is how I play. He *feels* to me the same as he did in LOST: Again. Where he mostly posted fluff and was Mr Feelgood, all OT happy happy. Then, when most people thought I was civ, he started making pokes towards me.And they did not *feel* sincere, like they did not feel sincere here. His whole "Well, we gree too much so you must be bad heh heh" felt incredibly forced to me. Just like he did in LOST Again.

Plus with his crazy travel stuff, he would fit Epis profile. But more than anything, he just feesl superbad to me.

Revoting Scotty

Linki, WTF? Why would I toast Fuzz like that? That would be a bitch move.
Just like your gut reads that Soneji is bad? But whatever.

Pulling incomplete meta out of a hat again, SVS. I don't have a baddie game. People see what they want to see. Look at my civ games (which is most of them). Was I not a little off the wall in those too? This is major WIFOM but I do that shit regardless of my alignment.

I've been pointing out that we have very similar suspicions all game. Could be coincidental, but since I had been viewing you as civ the entire time, my reads felt that much more informed and confident.

Roasting me for my travel is I guess a pertinent reason. But you're just seeing what you want to see. I ain't no warden.

I want to view you as civ. I really do. But I can't help but think you're leading a charge against me as a diversion. You'd rather me out before chaindeath? Like, really? Chaindeath. Let's say hypothetically that I were bad. You think I look worse than chaindeath? I think Boom looked worse than chaindeath, so I really don't want you to make the same mistake about me or lump me into a crowd that should be dying because of how fishy they have played all game, not a sudden tunnel realization

I don't know a lot in this game but I know there are several better options out there than me.

Re: [NIGHT 8] Turf Wars: Battle of the Hosts

Sorry I've been away for a while. I'm in Cananda and have had a hard time getting WiFi while here.

I see while I was away Boomslang was revealed as good. That's infuriating tbh. This whole game has been infuriating.

Since my day absence, I see that SVS has turned the mirror back to me. Sig has jumped on board. Black Rock sees me suddenly as 1 of 2 cops. Chaindeath has even attempted to impugn me. What can I say? I'm lost. My Don has given me nothing of substance and I feel like I should have caught more at this point.

Where I thought it was laughable to consider Boomslang as good, I've found a very similar feel about chaindeath. Quin is constantly defended by Prisoner.

To answer SVS's tirade, who btw has been spraying a clean pathway with a power washer, I think Epi looks neutral. There's only like 3 people in this game that I can regard with certainty are not bad, but that's it.

And Scotty~ why is being on the same page as me so threatening/scary/confusing to you?
lol I didn't know the Easter bunny went to college. That means there IS hope for college grads to get a *jump*start in a career somewhere!

Well, I'm attempting to come to terms with why neither of us have been night killed yet. Could just be that we're slightly controversial. Could be that the baddies know we're on the wrong track. Could be that you're bad. I'm inclined not to think the latter, but I'm getting paranoid.

Re: [DAY 8] Turf Wars: Battle of the Hosts

After this Boom lynch I will have to do some soul searching.

Things that patently bother me: Quin and I have been at each other's throats since night 2, I have been fielding his suspicion since Tranq was killed Night 1. He continually says "lynch me then" as a veiled threat. Epi has said the same thing I noticed in my perusing of the past few pages. Is there a link? Fuck if I know. Is there a link between a cart and a horse? Only insofar as one decides to link both together, but both are purely independent from each other.

Other things that bother me: my reads have been almost always shadowed by SVS. I have formed some sort of echo chamber with her in a sense all game, and yet we're both alive. Strange. Are we both going down the wrong track? Or is it something more nefarious? Is she working with Black Rock to push for civ BTSC Cred so we don't advance on either of them? Is Black Rock actually buffered by SVS and safe, knowing SVS has looked so civ knowing we wouldn't turn against her easily? Should we hereby refer to Black Rock as Black Death?

Why hasn't the Prisoner been killed? Is there some secret mechanic that the cops know about where he can't be arrested because he's a changed man on parole and did a good job folding the warden's laundry in prison? I tend to think that he's given great life to the thread, offered a fresh perspective and breadth that we otherwise may not have had. But we don't know his win condition. We don't know where he came from, who he is, or what his purpose is. He sure seems town-serving, but there could be any number of false pretenses we don't know about. I mean, Ricochet's character won, and he wasn't even paroled. Could prisoner have some sort of secret ability unknown to everyone else?

Why is Serge still on the poll?

Why is Turnip Head being so elusive of late? I know he was dealing with Internet troubles, but offering one hollow suspicion of Quin and sauntering off to play in the garden [or whatever it is Turnips do] is not necessarily comforting.

im currently in the middle of the mountains of Idaho driving through a huge storm. This is going to put a damper on my travel. Montana was beautiful and I'd recommend it to anyone to go and visit during the spring/summer months.

:disappoint: come on, prisoner. Nothing looks civvy about Boom, and we have tried in fractured confidences to lynch him 3 days in a row now, and something always seems to happen: "heMs practically inactive, so why not eliminate other surefire ones?" I'm not opposing the Boomslang lynch here. I am questioning you. My concern in this conversation is the player Scotty.

What did you mean by "framing things"?
Giving us perspective. At this point there is nothing tangible to pull from besides Fuzz. I can only analyze so much when we've done nothing but speculate to no avail since day 2.
You think we've learned nothing since Day 2?
I've learned that we have gotten farther from a civ win. I think it was you who said lynching a baddie would break the game open. Most of my reads are based on other people being bad, and, as I say every fucking day, those people continue to survive and I am left wondering. Just wondering. With my pants down and surrounded by glitter.

If you're a highly-trusted player and you're not dead, I recommend you re-calibrate your reads. Someone is probably letting you stick around because they expect you to do something detrimental to your team.
Or that they're eliminating people that are pushing for lynches for people.
But I have had more interest in Quin for longer, so why wasn't I killed earlier? Why is Pirsoner not dead yet? Why does Starbucks have a secret menu?

There's might be validity in the framing Quin thinking. But I'm honestly floundering either way. Things look bleak, but a Boom lynch will help frame a few things at least.
