Multiple reasons. I didn't want to make myself a target to get killed by team Azura and I genuinely was having a hard time keeping up with the thread.

I believe Synonym received information about a baddie because of his role. Birdwithteeth was most likely the one who missed his PM. Bea had a role that surely affected the lynch. Unlike the first batch, these are all educated guessses.
Actually Bea being the Avenger got info on you that night. BWT was affecting the lynch and Synonym missed his PM.

The Mace of Justice. On Position #2, my item gives were negative items. It had a temporary positive power but a negative side-effect. I gave it to aapje because I thought it was curious that he hadn't died yet. The Mace of Justice would have allowed him to erase up to 15 lynch poll votes against him. The negative side-effect is that any votes erased with the Mace of Justice would be applied as secret votes the next day. Aapje would have thought it merely a vote eraser but it was really just a vote shifter.

Nope, back when you suggested Jay might have been turned. People almost always talk about their own role subconsciously and there was no reason to believe there was a chance for someone to be turned. Then Jay died. Then as time went on it was increasingly more likely since you had not been targeted. The attempt to change my blocks was the biggest confirmation. But before that even I had already discussed it with Sorsha in PM with some things we could use if we kept the info from you, but we did not get in the right position for it.
Yeah Night 12 was the block thing. :P

Well that was a fun game. I had fun being in 3 btsc forums and chats at the same time :nicenod:
I took a bit of a back seat when I was on all teams since it seemed a bit unfair to use my knowledge to get a team killed. Instead I focussed on getting anyone I did not have btsc with killed :feb:

Re: Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (Day 12)

Regarding LA, some stuff that caught my eye:
- Her blaming Rico for the BWT lynch.
- Her responses to Epi gave me a bit of an annoyed baddie vibe.

I may very well vote for her. A bit wary of everyone blindly following Epi because I know he was wrong about me earlier.

Devin:
Anyway the wind blows doesn't really matter to him it seems. Is there a bandwagon he hasn't hopped on yet?

MM:
Sketchy vote last lynch. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he were bad.

Rey:

Interesting point. I wonder what would happen if a team would get no applicants. I guess someone would be drafted against their will. llama: SD made an interesting case on him here. Since then Wilgy has mentioned him in one of his last posts as someone to look into.

No sir. You never once suspected me of being recruited (or bad), before I returned to the game. You spinned the rezz factor to start suspecting me, weaving in stuff like "why would anyone bring him back if he's not part of their team", "rezzcruiting could have happened" and "his reaction to his rezz is fishy" in your case-making.
I never claimed I suspected you before you were rezzed. The underlined part means that I think the reason you were rezzed is because you are on a team. The before is referring to the time of your recruitment, not the time of me suspecting you.
Ricochet wrote:Yes, you looked into Syn's PM business not adding up and thought a baddie can be found there; it wasn't found. Prove that Syn was truthful that he missed the N5 PM and that I lied.
Both the rez and the PM claim don't directly prove anything. However I see it as circumstantial evidence that you could be bad. I'll look into the lying part but first I'm going to get some sleep.

I haven't lied about missing my PM N5, Synonym could have still been wrong about missing his.

So what's there to be called for? You were the one who pushed this angle on suspecting Syn.

Also, I don't recall the Hosts confirming or clarifying things past this post of yours.
Well in that case let me refresh your memory:

Also Rico you are 100% sure you didn't send in a PM while you had a power that night?
DharmaHelper wrote:This seems like a shit reason to suspect someone.

This post set of some major alarm bells for me.

Not sure how I feel about BWT but I don't exactly trust Rico :suspish:
In face I'll place my vote there.
Boomslang pings you like hell, but you vote me. Yup.

Also, are you still suspecting me for an event that in your mind looks suspicious, for reasons you know better, as well as for a response of mine to that event that did not live up to your standards...for reasons you know better? Yeah, still don't know what I'm supposed to argue/defend here.
Your reaction to your rez didn't add up for me and now it certainly looks like you could have set up Synonym to be lynched. Is this supposed to make me feel you are a civvie? Because it certainly doesn't look like you are. I'm comfortable with my vote for you :suspish:
Ah. Indeed I seemed to have missed that.

Allow me to clarify though. While that indeed confirms your posts (and your question about how many PMs were missed N5), in a previous post to that (that is actually quoted in that post of yours) I asked for clarification on something slightly different:
Ricochet wrote:Ah, so LC's first Host Post was edited after he rain-checked on how many PMs are missing? I'd need a confirmation of that.
Even you weren't sure about that, but then you asked the Hosts a different question:
aapje wrote:
Ricochet wrote:Ah, so LC's first Host Post was edited after he rain-checked on how many PMs are missing? I'd need a confirmation of that.
Well I doubt he originally wrote one missing pm when he was missing several.

@Hosts:

Now you're holding me responsible for missing out a confirmation on a matter that is not mine, but yours? Com'on. My question wasn't confirmed.
I don't really how that is relevant since the hosts confirmed that there was in fact only 1 missing PM.
Ricochet wrote:Again, I can't defend against an accusation based on your perception of things, that you hold on to. Carry on suspecting me, then. I'm still unrecruited, so should I get lynched or killed during this phase, I will have proven to you how rezz's don't always mean what you have in mind and nor do simple explanations of it ("I was rezzed. I don't know why the rezzer chose me. I'm still unrecruited") don't mean or hide something other than that.
I know sometimes people don't get rezzed for logical reasons. When did I use the word always? Usually people use rezzes for a reason though do though.
Ricochet wrote:Moving on to Syn, you're claiming I set up Synonym to be lynched with a reasoning that belonged to you and that only you focused on in voting Synonym to be lynched? That's rich.

I answered your appeal towards players who might know if, by missing themselves PMs on that night, might prove that Syn is lying about missing his (although, mind you, he was very broad in saying he missed every deadline. It is, again, you, who narrowed it to N4-N5 when his claim might be faulty).
I narrowed it down to Night 4 and 5 because the hosts said only 1 pm was missing on those nights so those would be easiest to check.
Ricochet wrote:I think I might pull the suspicions and votes on Synonym, so I can show you that the "missing PM" angle pretty much belonged to you, you only and you insisted upon, quite a lot in fact. Or better yet, maybe you'd be so kind as to point out how people voted Syn for the "PM angle", so that you can claim I set him up by addressing on that angle.

I didn't go with that. Furthermore, DH called it lazy suss'ing, after which you suddenly backed away from it, despite still believing it might have been a slip. So if nobody really voted Syn for his PM claim (aka your case), how can you claim I set him up to by lynched for that? I didn't set up Syn with anything, I suspected him for a lot of things, maybe apart from his last to final post, but the PM angle was not something I used, it's something you brought up and insisted upon.

Where have I said I'm a civvie? I never claimed that. I'm unrecruited. Are you after lynching unrecruits, just because they don't fit your 'civvie' category? Wouldn't you rather lynch recruited baddies?
I backed off because the hosts hadn't yet confirmed that there was only 1 missing pm. If I had been online after they had confirmed it my vote would have stayed on Synonym.

And it doesn't really matter to me whether people followed my line of inquiry or not. As a player I looks for inconsistencies, for stuff that doesn't add up. A lot of the times baddies can be found where stuff doesn't add up. And this PM business (quite literally) doesn't add up.
Ricochet wrote:aapje, for a in-depth tactician and game debater, seems to have run out of bullets in pursuing me. I asked him to prove that I influenced anyone to lynch Syn for the PM angle (an angle only he brought up, furthermore) or that anyone voted Syn for that angle (not even he did) and he just came back with blank verdicts. His rezz angle on me suddenly doesn't even matter anymore, lol. Must have been after DH pointed out he did such bullsuit angles in the past as well. Can anyone else who played past Recruitements confirm that aapje was bad and used a rezzcruiting angle to dig a player's grave?

Anyway, given all this, I'm considering calling dingo on appje's endeavour. He thinks he's a soldier dog who found the heroin stash but nah, he's dead wrong and every angle of his will be proven dead wrong if I get lynched. But I'm starting to feel he might be a dingo, instead, putting the baby in my lap.
Wow this is quite the post. After you asked me that I've made one drunken post and then you call me out for not giving you a point by point reply? You seem to have unreasonably high standards for inebriated (not abbreviated, I've learned my lesson) posts. That post was a response to you and DH talking about rez-recruits which was never my main point. Which I so eloquently reiterated last night.

The fact that you were rezzed still very much matters. I think you were recruited before you were rezzed. I think you were rezzed because you were already recruited. Rezz-recruits was never the main point and I've stated that before as well.

Oh and I can confirm that I was bad in the previous recruitment mafia. I don't really remember talking about rezzes that game but it has been over a year. It sounds plausible that I did though. My belief that rezzes are usually done for a reason isn't exactly a new-found one.

Hmm. I missed sending a PM the Night I was killed. I think the Hosts made confusing posts about N5 missed PMs, though. LC said one, then "not as many as he thought" (??), BR hinted at several.
I went back through the hosts posts and this is what I got:
Spoiler: show
Long Con wrote:Ricochet has been killed by Azura Nokomis. DisguntledPorcupine has been killed by Ahriman, Grand Master.

It is now Day 6. Day will last 48 hours. There was a one missing PM tonight.

Position 5 is Active for this phase.

Please send ALL PM's to both hosts. Especially power ones. For example, I worked tonight and LC gathered PM's. Some were almost missed, and weren't caught before he posted.
So what it sounds to me is this: LC writes the posts, several PMs are missing as indicated by the 2 latter posts. LC then gets all messages that were only sent to BR and posts his addendum to the night post and edits the number of missing PMs to 1.

So if you are telling the truth about not sending in your PM that night that would mean Synonym is lying. :eye:

Re: Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (Day 8)

So who did Wilgy vote for?
Day 1:
Unfurl (unrecruited)
Rico
BWT
Pretty meaningless since no night actions had taken place yet.

Day 2:
llama
MP
Bass1.0 (unrecruited)
Has tracked someone during Night 1. Votes for Bass because he is uncomfortable voting for Golden.

Day 3:
Himself
SVS
Boomslang
This night he has tracked btsc. Notably the first time he voted for SVS. Did he maybe check her and find out she has btsc? Moves his vote late in the lynch to Boomslang, the runner up to Golden. Second day in a row he has protected Golden.
DrWilgy wrote:Vote registered for SVS

Out of everything I've observed, I'm uncomfortable with how hard both SVS and Rey went in on Golden. I still think Golden is neutral, he's posting too much without doing anything that makes me think he's any worse than neutral. SVS is also one of the players that received a vote day 1, meaning there's a chance for her to be Azura. I'll change my vote to save Golden if needed, but only if he doesn't self vote.

Also, don't strafe too far away from the players that avoided lynch day 1 (this includes me... I know...).
Day 4:
Sorsha: Thinks she may have framed Golden.
Boom: comfortable placeholder
SVS: Hardly mentions her all day.
Night 3 ended early so probably no new info. If he did get his PM in on time he tracked another person.

Day 5: (Lost my notes so going by what he posted)
Timmer:
Spoiler: show

timmer wrote:Okay, so I'm likely only going to skim the game up to this point, I just never have time for Day 0's, it seems. I arbitrarily chose Position 2 in the poll.
Something being done "arbitrarily" Is a trigger.
timmer wrote:It's actually quite unlikely. An unrecruit is most likely. Aren't about 3/4 of us neutral at this time?
Obsessing over neutrality is a trigger, this isn't the only quote where he does this.
timmer wrote:^I like Epig's thinking so far. Golden's chatter about recruiting felt a bit phoney-chatty.
Not explaining what is actually phony is a trigger (if by phoney-chatty you meant phony).
timmer wrote:Furthur to this, why does someone being a recruiter mean anything? If they are one, they might be a civ recruiter, which means eliminating them will hurt the civ cause. There are equal numbers of bad and good recruiters. And once you are eventually recruited to a team, that's your team, so why gun for a potential recruiter when that may end up your own team down the road?
This right here is also my trigger.
timmer wrote:It's more of a sense than anything, but Epig kind of nailed it with his colour coding.
Here's a trigger, I noticed an obsession with Epi before he died.
timmer wrote:All of this to say that the odds of me sussing out a baddie recruiter today, with such a mess of acting and lying going on is low. And I don't have the time to try to find minutiae that would suggest it.

So I'm going to stick to the idea of voting for someone who is not around, for today. And I will be at work later and so will not be posting too much today.
Not wanting to catch baddies is my trigger.
timmer wrote:So as I'm reading along, the endless back and forths regarding Golden and MP truck along. They haven't play out yet and I've got a lot of pages to go, but for now I will say that I don't see a problem with MP's game, I'm a fan of his thinking in this game. Golden's playing a sort of similar game, but he seems to be shying away from admitting that his stance on Epig was odd, even for this game. SVS keeps mentioning it, but he isn't directly addressing it, even as he says he is. I'm liking MP more than Golden. And SVS' game is topnotch.
JJJ pointed this out, but I would also like to address how bullshit this is.
timmer wrote:Fourth, the few people who are actually trying to make normal cases all get my thumbs up, and my appreciation, as doing as much as proven to be beyond me so far this game. I note SVS' and rye's thoughts on Golden (while I don't put as much weight on the "never seen this Golden before" stuff {see point #1}, I do appreciate her thoughts on his evasiveness, etc.), also Canuckle's point on Tiny Bubbles.

Fifth, where I'm still at a conundrum is that (and take this with whatever grain of salt you want, I recommend Kosher personally) I still have no team and thus I'm not sure which kind of case to get behind, as any of them could affect my future employer. For instance, Canuckle makes a very good point about TinyBubbles. She seems like she's recruited and unsure of how to act. But what if that's true but Tiny's team will be my team?
Still being obsessed with teams is my trigger, hopping on the TinyBubbles boat so quickly without providing anything that hasn't been said already is also my trigger (especially since I'm pretty sure TinyBubbles is neutral).
Sidenote: Timmer seems to be loving SVS during the Golden debates... Don't forget this.
timmer wrote:voted for tinybubbles.

I agree with the basic thrust of the case against tiny bubbles, her posts have been the epitome of both wishy and washy. But moreso, I'm liking the gameplay of the people voting her, so I'm willing to follow their lead on this.
Not providing anything ever, but constantly bandwagoning is my final trigger.

JJJ I agree with everything you said, you noticed some things I did. Thank you for confirming my suspicion. I won't be changing my vote from Timmer.

Not sure good Turnip, I collected the data though and thought I should share. See if anyone smarter than I noticed a pattern or something. Wilgy, staring into the eyes of TurnipHead, remembers times of old and smiles. Wilgy thinks back on his schooldays and old usernames. He remembers that he used to be a turnip as well. GoldenTurnip to be exact.
Timmer seems to be loving SVS during the Golden debates... Don't forget this.
This part caught my eye.
SVS, again.
Night 4 he had an alignment check. The day he defended TB. Seems plausible he checked TB after her failed lynch and found her to be unrecruited. This would point to TB being the Day 5 recruit.
Spoiler: show
DrWilgy wrote:
Black Rock wrote:
Public Announcement

Ubzargan has recruited!
Found what I needed! <3 The most recent recruit was at 7:59 on the 31st.

Ok, some theorems as to what happened:
1. Bubbles was bad from before day 4. This means that bubbles took some heat, was saved by a teammate, took part in killing someone who suspected her, received more heat, failed in a defense, and then gave up. Possibly because she ran out of things to defend herself with.
2. Bubbles was recruited during day 5. This means that bubbles took heat, was saved by a non-teammate, was framed for killing someone who suspected her, received more heat, failed in a defense, submitted for a contest to be recruited, was recruited, took a fall for the team.

So, it should be clear that I don't believe in theory 1. If theory 1 is true, then I was completely played a fool. It doesn't make sense to me for Ubooboo to kill Unfurl if Bubbles was a team mate before day 5, due to that implicating Bubbles even more so.

Theory 2 is what I propose actually happened. If you pay attention to the timing of the recruitment day 5 it makes sense. It would also explain why Bubbles didn't respond all day, she was just added to a team. Hence she appeared and spoke to us from beyond the grave the moment the day resolved. this would make sense if Bubbles didn't want to spew that she was recruited, so she chose silence over anything worse. This is reflective of her later more emotional posts, and how they were much more volatile... And her being recruited at 7:59 also explains why she would let me take the fall defending her, instead of her defending herself. I posted her defense 6 min before the day 5 recruitment (and that's not including the time it took to write it). I actively gave her no reason to respond... I'm sorry everyone I almost screwed everything up.

Now, something here that's interesting that I noticed trying to piece this puzzle together.
S~V~S wrote:I held my vote until I was sure I would not need it to defend. I am not as sure about Bubbles as are some, Wilgys extreme desire to save her almost made me vote for her, but i will stick to my own suspicion and vote Sorsha.
I would like to point out that it contradicts this previous post,
S~V~S wrote:I read some of Bubbles posts in other games, and I was like *meh* about her being bad. Anything is possible, but she sounds about the same in those games as she does here. Although i disagree with him on Timmer, I do tend to agree with Wilgy on Bubbles.
If anyone is trying to tread lightly around Bubbles, It was SVS.

Maybe I'm stretching here, but maybe the real reason SVS held her vote was to see if my defense on her teammate would work or not. It kinda makes sense, considering she had to wait to see who her teammate was as well as following my defense.

Last thing to point out, SVS, why did you ignore this?

SVS, that doesn't make sense, I've been voting for you for awhile now. I didn't list 1 and 3 as cause and effect, I listed it as possibilities. Your pursuit of Golden is what throws me for aloop the most. I agree with what Rico said.
timmer wrote:
S~V~S wrote:Day one there was a 12 or 13 player tie I think.
Oh that?

Wilgy, so your case is three points, one of which is that SVS likes being bad (WTF?) and one of which is that she is one of a ton of people who didn't die from a hugely tied lynch? And this is because you assume one of them was Ubby? What about Terras protecting all Guardians that day?

If that's your case, I'm moving' on, sorry dude.
Uggg... Timmer, I have stated previous the conditions for my vote and didn't want to go through it again. Her pursuit of Golden didn't feel genuine when I read it. I didn't have time to quote everything at the time, due to working on house renovations. Your WTF would be understandable if I hadn't already spoken about SVS being SK in a open role choice environment. I don't assume one of them is Ububudoo, but the possibility is there and we shouldn't forget that. Statistic wise, if we go after a Golden hounder, she's our best choice.

I'm currently packing for the move tomorrow, so I don't have alot of time left for mafia today, nor will I tomorrow. I'll chime in when I get the chance.
More suspicion of SVS.
This post seems to confirm Wilgy checked TB on Night 4.

Day 6:
SVS: Yet again.
First day Wilgy received most votes.
DrWilgy wrote:After me, please lynch SVS, Llama, possibly Tranq and bea.
Night 5 he was able to track the amount of votes each player ended up with.

Day 7:
SVS
LR
LA
Tranq
Synonym
I may have missed some since Wilgy was silenced that day. Night 6 he got to track btsc again.

TL;DR: I think Wilgy knew SVS had btsc and that when he checked TB when she was still neutral.
