Great rogue play, my friend.

sprityo, fascistic game, I loved the flavor and the setup and the paranoia and it was awesome.

Everyone, thank you for making my return to mafia an awesome one. I'm sorry I was so absent; it bothered me the whole time because that's not my meta.

A backup doctor would be a convenient fakeclaim, because, at surface value, it holds water if someone else is a doctor. And correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you claim after Quin flipped?

Yeah, it means I get the rolecard telling me I'm a revenge killer, and then I choose who dies if I die. In this instance (and all other revenge killer roles I've seen in past games), I get to choose nightly.

As far as I understand a revenge killer role, they don't count as a 'visit'. It's like the mafia comes to kill them, and they panic and shoot someone with a shotgun as they die. Maybe sprityo works it differently, but unless someone tracked me, I'm not seeing the relevance.

Mine: revenge-killer, only if nk'd. Targets, in order:
N1 Jay
N2 [missed the night phase]
N3 LC
N4 Quin
N5 Fred
N6 [deliberately did not set target because we had low numbers and I didn't want to chance being wrong, getting nk'd (if still applicable), and then losing town the game]

juliets wrote:No, its not me. Its either Straw or speed and whichever one it is has played a great game.
Well, I haven't played a great game, so... :sigh:

Speedchuck's assessment of why MP wasn't lying seems really reasonable to me. Which crosses MP off my list.

So it comes down to speedchuck and juliets. I've already stated why speedchuck could be the rogue, but what about juliets? What did juliets claim? Backup doctor? Someone (I think speedchuck) said they didn't believe juliets would make a claim she'd never heard about before. I think that's kind of funky reasoning, but... Do we have any evidence that juliets's claim is true?

Also, from what I recall, the only thing I remember seeing about why juliets isn't the rogue is, 'Well it can't be juliets because it can't be.' I think speedchuck and Dyslexicon both said something to that effect. I too said that, but from a perspective of drowning in text and having no juliets-related pings.

I still have a strong gut feeling that it's speedchuck, but can I get some reasoning on why it can't be juliets? Because right now, if it's not juliets, it's fuggin speedchuck and we should lynch him.

I was kinda given a raw deal with an unprovable role, surviving this late in the game. Whichever of you is the rogue, you've been clever and creative with your claims. If I wind up getting lynched, it will be that cleverness and creativity on which you may rest your laurels. But I implore you all: I am not the rogue. I am not scum. I am a town-aligned revenge killer.

Re: Phenon Mafia: Day 7 - Where There's Fire...

Since I'm weary of missing votes, I'm gonna open up with one.

This isn't an omgus vote, but it does have something to do with me. Vote speedchuck.

It struck me as strange when you POE'd me as the best lynch candidate, when Fred (rightfully) had much more to go on than me. When Fred flipped scum, I felt it was even more strange that you would focus more on me than on Fred, because it was confirmed that he was lying.

Obviously this is very likely not a scum move, but likely a rogue move. (7 scum and a rogue seems steep.) But, in order for you to win, you need a an easy lynch: me: a player who misses EODs and doesn't post much. Notable that your backup is MP, who is also not posting as much as you and juliets.

Also, outright saying you don't believe my claim after agreeing yesterday that my claim is believable is quite convenient. This is now lynch-or-lose, right? So my role can't possibly be confirmed until the game is over. Natural that you'd use my roleclaim as basis for my case.

Thoughts on the rogue in general: Jay finally dying is a sign that the final anti-town is a rogue who believes there's no scum left. You needed Jay to help find scum, scum needed Jay to help find you.

speedchuck, real quick (I'm at work, I only have a minute, can't make big post)

1. Re: sticking on the Dys fakeslip. As I mentioned in a conversation with LC, I faked believing the fakeslip so hard to see if any easy-lynch-seeking scum would follow me on it, then I would nail them. Obviously didn't work. So that wasn't real. I'm not good at gambits.

2. Just so we're clear (your language on the matter was a bit ambiguous), I'm not marking people who will all die if I'm night-killed. I name someone every night, and only that person dies if I die. Just want to make sure my role was understood.

Re: Phenon Mafia: Day 6 - Culling of the Weak

Dyslexicon

Town because she seems like she's genuinely scumhunting.

Anti-town because of aforementioned assessments of unpredictable character.

Fredwood

Town because the lack of scumhunting reads like a very Strawhengian dip in confidence.

Anti-town because of the lack of scumhunting, and previously cited (by other players) sus posts, the suspicious nature I happen to agree with.

JaggedJimmyJay

Town because yeah.

Anti-town because he's just goddamn clever enough to have been given some kind of role-switching role to have a town role card be revealed to the public, and still somehow have targeting information, because he is some kind of strange entity who is partly fused with the Greater Spirit of Mafia. (I don't actually believe this. Levity. #alternativetinfoiling)

juliets

Town because scumhunting.

Anti-town because I don't know, nothing has jumped out at me. Which scares me in a Jay way. Now I'm terrified. Okay now I'm fine. Now I'm terrified again. I'm okay. I'm scared. I'm okay. [Strawhenge continues in this way for the next day and a half, long after EOD]

His Majesty the King of Fuck Mountain (MP07)

Town because claim read as genuine.

Anti-town because nobody is that nice, he's up to something. (I don't know.)

speedchuck

Town because scumhunting.

Anti-town ping was actually a real one: his earlier assertion that I must be the anti-town. It was very POE, so I'm not sirengiffing it, but it just seems really convenient and easy to lynch a low-activity player this late in the game. Not a huge ping at all; if we still had enough players to warrant a rainbow list, I'd put him at a yellowish green for this. But this, alongside some of his posts that others have pointed out, make me wary of him.

this entity (I'll do this one for funsies and fairness.)

Town (not scum) because he cased and suspected people on the scum team almost from the get-go, and though it was not a storied voting pattern, his voting pattern—and revenge-kill targeting pattern—is geared largely toward scum. Also revealed role only when pressured with a fatherly tone. Also is just a good egg, man.

Town (not rogue) because I don't know. Things don't look awesome for this entity in this category, but rogues are kinda like that, in such a way that it could literally be anybody but Jay. Also his revenge-kill targets included one of the bomb targets. Could have said that in case Jay tracked him.

Anti-town because of unprovable role, low activity, being a forgettable and bland human.

I do note that nobody has voiced significant trust for him since the claim, indicating that nobody is named Bellic -- or that Bellic doesn't remember their own name. Check your role PMs!
I see how that's of note, but that seems like a pretty intricate role to fakeclaim.

I had a similar thought, primarily because the people Strawhenge targets will experience nothing, and indeed nothing will happen with the role he has presented -- unless he is night killed. This is analogous to a marker marking every night; nothing happens until later.
I mean... It really is 1-shot. I can only die once.

That doesn't clear Fred at all. When I was a demo man (in a game Jay hosted, I believe), my marks died automatically at the end of Night 3, if I survived until then. Yeah, the bombs in this game didn't go off at an EOD or EON, but the role could have been written such that this would happen. There's no way for us to know or for Fred to prove exactly how his role works, so his absence at the time of detonation is moot.

Just my two cents before I dive in and start reading until I grow a long white beard and everyone in the world forgets that I exist.

Third, @Jay, I'm not a threat because I'm a top bloke. A good egg, in fact. I have nothing else. I could roleclaim, but I almost want to save it as a backup in case we don't lynch the last (? hopefully last?) scum/rogue today. My role might come in handy.

Re: Phenon Mafia: Day 4 - Too Slow

Golden is now firmly in the greenish area of the spectrum for me. That scummy gut-read passed like a bit of overdone potato. I'm curious about your continuing case against me. I can't promise promptness with my answers, but I can answer questions if you have them.

Quin, in the words of a wise and wild individual, 'ur bad.' And soneji is your homie.

I'm down to lynch either of them. I'll place a placeholder vote on Quin

But hey Golden, I'm curious about your vote for INH instead of La Marmota?

linki: Oh, cool, he's here. Golden! Hey Golden! {points at question]
I wasn't around for the second half of the phase. I've already addressed this earlier although I admit my iso is a pain. I can't say what I would have done for sure but marmot was on the table for me.
As one who can identify with not being around, I find this answer satisfactory.
