When you say that I'm not having an open mind because I'm not considering objectively false interpretations, and you see TH's point when there is none, you make it pretty easy for me to misunderstand you. That is assuming that you are in fact not siding with him. I mean do you not have any opinion whatsoever on what I just pointed out in the post you're responding to here? Is the only thing you have to say really just trying to make sure that I don't think you're on his side? You realize that that's going to have the opposite effect when you have no comment on his shady content, right?Golden wrote:I'm not 'siding with' TH, zebra, and if you think I am I think you are misunderstanding things just as much as anyone else.a2thezebra wrote:So rather than ask me what I mean and get a better idea of why I suspect you (you know...have an open mind and all that) in the hopes that you could properly defend yourself, convince me that I'm wrong, and we can all go about hunting baddies in harmony together, instad you ignore me and continue to mock a position that you don't even understand.Turnip Head wrote:I ignored you because I have no idea what you mean.a2thezebra wrote:Like I told you before and you ignored me, you've got that backwards.Turnip Head wrote:Yeah but if I did that my entire cover falls apart if Matt is ever revealed to not be Batman. You're not making any sense. Not only does his plan not fail if Matt says that he isn't Batman, Matt saying that he isn't Batman is his only chance of getting away with it. If Matt just happens to actually be Batman, then, and only then, his plan falls through completely.Golden wrote:How would he successfully pass as a confirmed civ role? Try again, there are more potentially pro-town characters than that. I can't say what I'm doing with the poem directly because of Rule 3. I appreciate your effort to understand though.MacDougall wrote:Pro-town characters.a2thezebra wrote:I mean seriously, I say that I'm pro-town so I must be hinting at being Alfred. Batman
Robin
Alfred
Bane
Two-Face
Mr Freeze
One of these is something that is more likely to be soft claimed than others.
I am not saying you were, I am saying that my initial impression was "is that what you are doing".
As it apparently is not, what are you saying with your poem?

Re: Arkham Mafia [Night 2]
I mean seriously, I say that I'm pro-town so I must be hinting at being Alfred. I genuinely have no fucking idea how that makes any shred of sense.
Compare that to everything that Turnip Head did to hint at being Alfred. His back-and-forth with both me and Enrique before the latter changed his mind about Matt. It's not even in the same stadium, but of fucking course Turnip Head is going to try to frame it as being close enough to imply that my point against him is hypocritical because there's no way his "why do we fall" posts were anything more than jokes, and his hinting at being Alfred totally doesn't fucking extend them. Lynch me already.
linki @ Enrique - Oh did you miss me already pointing that post out along with my direct response to it immediately saying that it made TH go into my list of top suspects? Because no one thought it could possibly mean anything then either.
linki @ Golden - I'm always suspicious of people demanding motive in order for a suspicion to be considered valid. For one, a lot of baddie reveals lack a motive because they weren't intended. Hell, no baddie tell is intended from a baddie. Two, just because the motive is unknown doesn't mean that the evidence from the thread is voided as being indicative of baddie behavior. I will never understand how not knowing an exact motive is required to be pinged by another player. Three, often baddies knowingly do things with no clear motive so that they can ask what the motive was to deflect suspicion. In this case Turnip Head is letting everyone else do that for him while he pats them on the back by joining them in the mockery. Sometimes the apparent lack of motive is the motive. See how it's working? You've even got some players such as S~V~S suspecting Turnip Head less than they were before simply because this "oh yeah well what's my motive ehhh" is actually working.

Re: Arkham Mafia [Night 2]
Because an actual defense would be too much to ask and it might reveal some unfortunate information for TH's cause.

Re: Arkham Mafia [Night 2]
And TH is milking the lack of a clear motive for his maneuver as a possible indication that Enrique and I have got it all wrong as best he can.

Re: Arkham Mafia [Night 2]
I am neither a baddie nor an admitted one. Conceding my lynch is not the same thing. I want to concede my lynch because my lynch is inevitable after your analysis of my behavior with Nerolunar, and it might as well happen now since MP has asked for a replacement and can't get one. However, I am pro-town. If days often negate themselves gloriously in very "ethical" absolutes, forget understanding careless killings if for inside - within all silly alignment negotiations is no man allocated to ending idiotic wastes - a sunken portrait regurgitates open tangents, owning what not favors opiate, reminded may your every nanobot tighten its rectum endlessly. Run until no albatross nannies! Don't dispute, obey! Never tell look every town and not you, one not ever convince Odin not violently, instead nihilism castrates everyone. Yonder often undermines omens, to hell! Exit recklessly without integrity...some eternity.MacDougall wrote:So you're an admitted baddie too? He played it really well tbh, just look from the start how much he advocates for Wayne Manor and my kill-arkham logic and stuff like that. He knew he could use it later on.MacDougall wrote:So what's the suggestion here? I love how if you can't pin the exact motives of a baddie maneuver, that must mean that you're just imagining that there was any maneuver at all.Enrique wrote:Okay. So it was to save Matt. I don't know why he was doing anything Mac but he is very clearly not Alfred. He's had a huge influence on the game already, he probably expected me or Matt to get killed before I realized there was no way we were on the same page.MacDougall wrote:I don't buy it at all. I did not. I said that it was crucial that I called TH out on attempting to appear as a particular civilian role before Enrique's change of opinion because everyone keeps saying that it's irrational for Enrique to have concluded that TH isn't Alfred now that it's out in the open that Matt isn't Batman. That obviously isn't the case because I concluded that TH isn't Alfred before any of this went down, and that's my point.Metalmarsh89 wrote:Enrique's change of opinion on Matt and TH's jokes. Re: Arkham Mafia [Night 2]
It's not "fuck with us" it's "see guys I'm a confirmed civ, look at all my role hints." He has suspicion on him now because it didn't work.MacDougall wrote:I don't buy it at all. At least Turnip Head is consistent with his dismissive condescending pseudo-defenses.

Re: Arkham Mafia [Night 2]
No, I called all of it and I read Matt as civ both when I called it and now. The suggestion is that Turnip Head breadcrumbed the thread to make people think that he was a certain civ role (Alfred) and nothing more.MacDougall wrote:So what's the suggestion here? Re: Arkham Mafia [Night 2]
If he's not the only person using this line - and I'm aware of this - why would I be calling him out specifically for using it, both before and after Enrique's radical change of mind regarding Matt? I was calling him out for this way, way before he started claiming he was a joke after he got some heat on him.Metalmarsh89 wrote:Remember Enrique's game where Scotty made a joke on Day 1 and got lynched for it? Well he survived the lynch, but was NK'd anyway, but the idea is there. Long Con and I read too far into a post from Scotty that was intended to be a joke. We lynched him for it. We were wrong.a2thezebra wrote:How so? Do you really think that TH wasn't implying anything, and that "why do we fall" really was a strictly humorous motif?Metalmarsh89 wrote:Maybe you're reading too far into the things.a2thezebra wrote:But MP's position on TH shows that he hasn't been paying attention. No one is saying that TH should out himself if he is in fact Alfred. In fact, it's pretty clear that he isn't Alfred. When someone implies that they are a certain role and simultaneously implies that another player is a certain role, yet that other player denies this upon the revealing of that implication, the aspect of why that someone implied anything at all should come into question.Golden wrote:I'm with MP on the matter of TH. He is hardly going to say 'you got me, I'm Alfred'.
I think it unlikely he is Alfred. But for me, there are a number of possible explanations for his behaviour, not all of which must be 'he is a false-claiming baddie'. Open minds are best.
If TH claims it is a joke, why can't he be telling the truth? Also he's not the only person using this line. I've seen you, sig, DrWilgy, and even myself use this line multiple times.
