Can I have a brief summary of what happened? I still don't understand the mechanics of this.
It is kind of confusing. So, my role stated that if I lived to day 6 I could challenge monokuma and end the game. No one but monokuma knew what that actually meant or what that would mean. I lived to day 6 and challenged him.
He wrote out a big long explanation of what would happen if I died and what would happen if he died. He made up whatever he wanted in order to try to persuade people not to kill him. That did not work and they killed him. At that point in the show, my character restores hope to all the students and they all are free to leave. The game reflects that sentiment so all the students got to win the game aside from the first recruit.
First of all, Congratulations to the town players! This was 100% something new and different that I had no idea would work well or not. Thank you to Quin for helping me manage the game and thank you to everyone who signed up and replaced in. You all played wonderfully and I really hope the paranoia and, hehe, DESPAIR was apparent. Most impressive was the Ultimate Bargain which I have to give TonyStarkPrime and tedxtr props for because either they were really buying into it or they are really good at faking it. (I'll believe the former because damn that was good.)
The biggest thanks of all though has to go to Dragon D. Luffy. Who did a wonderful job with his announcements and it's a shame he was revealed so early. Had he not been lynched until Day 6 the poll actually would have only said the roles and not the names. It's a shame he didn't get to recruit all 3 times but that's just how the game goes sadly.
On a personal evaluation, hosting a game is quite difficult on my schedule and I was late multiple times. As well as I 100% could've clarified things prior to the game starting, and miscommunications were to the detriment of some players. Overall I think the game turned out reasonably balanced, and fun!
Please feel free to tell me about the setup and what you liked and disliked. (don't talk about the host mistakes plz i know i messed up a bit )

Also @sig , I know you like to tinfoil, so hear me out.
You say I am the red flip, but I am not. I am the fucking 3P. My wincon is not the same as the mafia. But the mafia is alive and... how can you be sure they are not just voting to lynch me along with you? As ted pointed out, continuing the game could benefit them, if they are already close to winning. Aren't you letting the real mafia play you?
No no no see my tinfoil is ted is mafia who you souped on purpose
I know for a fact you have to go.
What if I souped more than one person and the host just showed the first one because since it failed the next ones are not even attempted.
Dragon D. Luffy wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2020 7:33 pm
@sprityo if Monokuma tried to soup multiple people and the first one failed, would you show only the first shot or all of them?
tedxtr wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2020 11:11 am
I honestly don't think that DDL can come up with a game mechanic. I think this was an ability activation and it's not even DDL's post. Sprityo said if you submit your stuff, he will write some boss ass flavour.
Him, not DDL.
I don't have any compelling reason to move my vote, if I vote sabie, I have a chance of winning, if I vote DDL, I have a higher chance of losing than winning.
Admittedly this was false because i forgot to write it. DDL has submitted every single announcement since the game started including today's.
To be noted: Sabie and DDL’s votes do not count today, everyone else does. Reminder no voting shenanigans are in place. In the case of a tie, the day will be extended until a decision has been made.
MONOKUMA HAS ATTEMPTED TO SOUP TEDXTR AS MAKOTO NAEGI, AND FAILED!
NOBODY HAS DIED IN THE NIGHT.
SABIE12 HAS INITIATED THE ULTIMATE BARGAIN!
TODAY IS THE “FINAL” DAY.
ANNOUNCEMENT FROM HEADMASTER MONOKUMA
Gooooooood morning, everyone!
This is a VERY special day. Perhaps, the most special one in the entire game!
First of all, because as of the time of this post's writing, I don't know what will be happening in it. For I have just sent a soup kill shot against Mr. Makoto Naegi, and whether this kill succeeds or not will decide what happens today. Now let's elaborate on the two possible paths:
Now it gets complicated. Assuming Makoto did his job and used his main ability, there should be only two names in today's lynch poll: Makoto and Monokuma. Each option has different effects on the game.
If you lynch me, I will die. This time, for real. You can take me down right here. But this does not mean you will win the game, dear students. Why? Because the mafia is still alive, that's why! I have recruited people into the mafia, and you will have to keep lynching until you take all the mafia down, or until they take you down. And most importantly: the rule saying only living players win is still up, so any players who are lynched or night killed along the path to beat the mafia will lose in the end.
Such is the choice of Hope: it is not a free meal, it's just the promise that it is possible to reach the light at the end of the tunnel if you work hard enough, with no guarantee that everyone will survive to see it.
But what if you choose to lynch Makoto? Well then, in that case, the game will end! And both town and mafia will win, along with me! We will all become a happy family full of Despair. Excluding Makoto, of course, because he'll be dead. But there is a... catch. You didn't think there wouldn't be a catch, did you? The thing is that I don't want anyone in Team Despair unless they are fully committed to it. Either you embrace the cause, or you are out. We are going to be doing a lot of wicked things outside of this school, after all, so I need people who mean it. So only the people who actually voted for the Makoto option will win the game with me. Everyone else will die.
Such is choice of despair: it allows you to anything you want and forget civilization forever, but first you need to abandon the things that once tethered you to it.
Oh, I bet a few of you are about to call me a liar! Smart ones, these ultimate students. Well, I can't prove you I am not a liar, but you just saw the host announcement. You know something is going on. Is it different from what I just presented? Is it the same? Is it ~mostly~the same? Maybe ask Mr. Naegi himself, I am sure he is not at risk of being soup killed anymore since only one of us will be alive after the day ends. He may actually have a different version! Otherwise, there is only way to find out, my dear students:
Choose Hope, or Despair. The easy way to victory, or the hard, and righteous, but risky path to a normal mafia win. It's your call.
So what is it gonna be? What is it gonna beeeeeeeee?
Have a good day, and I hope that, at the end of it, we are all in the same team!

Coo! (Alright crazy tinfoil time (that honestly Okosan could see being correct). What if the true secret to this game is that everyone besides DDL flips town when they die? That way it looks like we're never lynching scum and that causes the true Ultimate Despair)
That’s a bit cruel even for me. Maybe not Monokuma though
tedxtr wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 9:20 am
Junko, if only you would've known what unholy retribution your little clever scheme was about to bring down upon you, maybe you wouldn't have even come close to typing one letter of my name in that action PM.
I am trained in the arts of scum hunting, and I can apply tells that the likes of you wouldn't acknowledge in thousands of years, you heretic. I know how to lynch my scum reads in 4192419249 ways, and that's just with a single rope. I will wagon you out with precision the likes of which have never been seen before on this website, mark my words. You think you can get away with roleblocking me in a game of mafia? Think again. As we speak, I'm hacking the role PMs and tracking you down, and trust me, I will use my ability to wipe you out of this thread.
Jackofhearts2005 has been lynched - he was [/color]TOWN
Ill be extending the night phase and change the overall phase time so that I will be able to handle it a lot easier. (instead of 0630 am for me) So night starts now and ends in 25 hours or 0530 GMT
Gooooooooood morning, everyone! Have you enjoyed this night phase? I can't say I have, I had an incredibly full day in that place they call real life, outside Danganronpa. But that doesn't exist, does it? Only Danganronpa does.
Mr. Jack thinks he is smart because he caught me. Well, I'm an immortal bear, you know? I can make infinite of me! So yeah, you'll have to deal with me for the whole game.
Well, give Mr. Jack some credit, his catch may have been influenced by a host blunder, but it was still one hell of a catch. Been a while since someone read my character like that. I was talking to sprityo in private and neither of us had any idea how he did it. He would be a great asset in Team Despair. If he's not already... i don't know! HAHAHAHAHAHHAAHA.
Hopefully you are reading this after the death of someone. Because I need those to win, you think? Maybe, but I also want this game to be fun. What kind of mafia game doesn't have deaths? And what kind of danganronpa doesn't? Let me tell you, my least favorite parts of that game were the free time between trials. They were fun, but damn if I didn't just want to move to the next death!
It's weird though, we all hate and fear death, but we want to see if in fiction. We crave for it. Maybe we are suited for Despair at all, we just don't admit it! You know, I'm still in this game. And you can still join me. Or you can cling to a hope that doesn't care about you. Your call.
