The more the game advances, the more information you will have. The more information you have, the better you can leverage the tools in your disposal to your benefit. The more lives you have, the more tools you have.

Although I suppose we're just continuing to play until the roles run out so that doesn't matter yet.

We aren't all necessarily trying to survive in our current form, however, at least at this early stage. I think this game morphs over time. One thing to be wary of is teams growing to big. At the moment, my guess is things are balanced, but one team could easily gain an advantage if they manage to grow and keep members alive. I don't think it's as simple as treating everyone the same and assuming there aren't going to be people who it's more in your interests to knock off.

I'm sure the landscape of the game will change as things progress - don't think it will ever change into "mafia" as Sloonei seems to think and am glad it will never change into mafia but I've laid out the approach I think is best for this moment, doesn't mean it will dictate my play for the rest of the game.
