Learning new things. I get bored fairly easily, so I am motivated to learn and do new things.

I love the Irish accent, especially when spoken by a woman. It's so soft.

What's a thing about you that would surprise people?

Just like in the past when things like thunder were explained by things like, "The Gods are bowling", becasue the people of that time did not have the knowledge set to understand the scientific explanation, I think many things we view as paranormal or seemingly nutso will someday be scientifically verifiable things.

What is something you like about yourself today, that you disliked at some point in the past?

I learned how to troubleshoot wireless connectivity in a Volvo today.

What is something you (realistically) would like to accomplish this week?

June, longest day of the year and my birthday!

No, I just ate lunch.

I do. I have my 6th grade autograph book, my communion medal the pastor gave us, a stuffed leopard, and a few other odds and ends.

Yes. My oldest friend is an art teacher, and she has retreats each summer and we make post and things.

Have you ever completed (to your satisfaction) a painting?

Starbucks. I get a chocolate coconut mocha and I get a Puppuccino for my dog (espresso size of whipped cream). She gets more excited when I ask if she wants to go to Starbucks than to the park, lol.

Probably Norge (heh heh) since I love that kind of climate and 50% of my ancestors are from there.

If you could peaceably eliminate any country in the world, which one would it be?

Mountains, in the middle, like a spine, tapering down to beaches. Lots of deciduous forests on the slopes. No big cities, just small towns.

If you could un-invent one thing existing in the world, what would it be?

Epi, I understood the origins of the words, but what I meant (and was unclear about obvs) was that national names are like personal names to my thought. I work with a guy named Miguel Perro, and we call him Miguel Perro, not our English translation of his name, basically, Mike Dog. So if we don't do it with one set of names, why with the other. But Llamas explanation does make sense. Maybe I will start a trend and just start calling Norway "Norge, lol.

I am gonna bump this becasue I have a real random question; it is something I have ALWAYS wondered about.

Why don't we call countries by what they call themselves? And I don't mean English specifically. Like let's look at that European country that is the home of Octoberfest and schadenfreude. They call themselves Deutschland. We call them Germany, the French call them Allemagne. Why is that?

I came up with a number of such foods: I don't know too many people who like olives, cottage cheese, or oysters, but I don't think I've met more than a handful of people who like escargot.

If you could uninvent any one invention of the last 150 years, what would it be? And a short why.

My brother, Joseph. He is rigorously honest & idealistic to a fault, and does not believe, "Be practical; that is just not how they do things" is a valid point about how the government is run. He loves nothing more than shining a super bright spotlight on things that are wrong. The Halls of Congress could use a super strong spotlight I think.

I don't think someone as inflexible as he is would do well for more than one term, but I do think he would shake shit up & expose some corruption.

What is the Impossible Dream?

Pretty well. It's early enough in the season that nights are still cool enough, but not so cool that the windows need to be closed. I have a fuzzy cat on my lap, a dog on my feet, and a glass of malbec in my hand. Life is good.

What is the longest thing you have ever memorized?

Two days. When I was younger, I had waaaaaay too much fun in the 80's and quite often had, um, chemically induced fasts shall we say, over a weekend.

What is something you regret?

Whole days in college. More recently, about 6 hours. Sometimes Wikipedia/Google works for me for research, but sometimes I want a book.

Oh Lord no. "Meetings" mean work to me.

Ooo, many. Maybe 20? Not counting winter hats. Then maybe 35-40. I like hats When I was in college I wore pillbox hats & cloches with pretty much every outfit; jeans, whatever. It was my protest against poufy 80's hair.
