I could be wrong, but IMO the games here are not any more out of, or in, balance than they are, or were, anywhere else
Are you implying that all Native Americans are followers?

:p

Seriously, I think the issue is more that, in a full game, there's 48 hours to talk, but many people (mostly civilians) will wait until the last few hours to "catch up" and vote. These people have not allowed themselves the luxury of processing and digesting the information. Then what ends up happening is that they vote between the two (or three) people who have the most votes (or self vote- even worse) and call it a day. They're okay because it isn't them. If I have one skill as a FEB, it's forcing the false dilemma between two civilians. And most of the time it works like a charm. :feb:
But every other place I have played it was 50/50 tbh, and the games had balance similar to ours. Except STV, where the civvies won more often than not, and that's because they were all very active for the most part. No chiefs. Here a lot of people seem to be playing to win THEMSELVES, rather than playing for the civvie cause. Perhaps because so many of our players started playing here, we grew our own culture. But I think the "*I* wanna win" culture we have going would see more civvie wins if it became "*WE* wanna win".

No posts in between.

Keterman wrote:I'm going to parrot my strongest town read, bwt. Usually when I second guess myself I end up wrong and mad that I second guessed myself. A vote for SVS it is. Her defenses aren't bad but nothing can really save what she did.

That's too bad, Bullz as I was expecting you of all people to see what I was saying.

And my "defenses" arent defenses. I am saying what you guys need to do after I die.

And JC I get upset good or bad if people get too aggressive or start pushing indefensible points. Recall Rabbits last game on RM the Batman one that never finished. I was civ in that and Rey and DH intentionally pushed my buttons and had me in hysterics. Its a Sherry thing, not an alignment thing.

Re: Day 5 Monty Python and the Holy Grail

She is. Like Keterman, maybe you read between the lines.

I defend in an emotional way when I feel I am being attacked in a personal way, or a way that is unnecessarily rude or aggressive, in my opinion, obviously. I try my best to NOT deal with others in that way, and it upsets me when others do it.

You will notice that the person I reacted that way to went back to the thread, and apparently read between the lines, because he backed off of me.

Now, BWT, I wish you would go back and read between the lines, because I have been discussing certain aspects of what has been happening (and not happening); perhaps that is what both LC & Keterman saw, and you have not.

And I am not lying down, but the way I see the thread going, I honestly think that yet another week long argument about one person is not going to help the civvies in any way shape or form. Getting some info from my lynch might. Take a hard look at who pushed hardest for my lynch, look at my role, and look again at who pushged hardest. I do not want to be lynched, nor do I wish to become the cause of a thread derailment. I did what I did with my role, and I am OK with it if I don’t make it to the end. I just hope I did some good, which is all I can hope for.

I am not sure if I will be able to voter later, and I know that I will be unable to post any defenses as work is worse than usual today, and I am being picked up for an appointment straight from the office. So voting Llama, I really do think he is bad. Now that Boogs has backed off of me totally, wonder what hes gonna do not that Llama has voted for me.

And if I am lynched, after Llama, look to Ninjajujube. I think BWT is civ, though.

And I also noticed how Boogs backed right off of me; prior to that post he was right up there with Llama, all gung ho to rid the thread of me. So did Keterman, but you don't mention that. That did not get your attention?

And tell me why you say this re Crocodile tears; it's a provacative statement. Can you be more precise, or is it just vibes?

Hedgeowl wrote:I have a question for SVS. Who is your top suspect?

I believe Llama's are SVS and LC, and now apparently LC's are Llama and SVS.

I am a little surprised at the turn around LC has done from SVS to Llama, after not suspecting him.

I have already started to forget some of my thread impressions from 8 pages of reading last night, but I believe juliets list was something that jived with me. I was surprised to see Reywas flip civ as well. People of interest to me would also be MM, Mongoose, Dana, and possibly SVS.
Llama. I have gone back & forth on LC; he sounds insincere to me, but tbh, he ALWAYS sounds insincere to me, same with Llama, actually. But in llamas case I think he has been somewhat opportunistic, whereas LC really has seemed less so to me. Llama mostly suspected me for going soft, as he viewed it, on Made. He made that big post about how we were bad together with lynch saves in our pocket, etc. When that was shown not to be the case (and I believe Made to have really been Lance) rather than saying, OK, I was wrong, Llama continued to suspect me.

The other people that suspected me suspected me for the opposite reason, that I was pushing too hard on a civvie and coming up with theories that would make him look bad even if he was not. THOSE people i can see still suspecting me when Made came up Lancelot. BWT suspecting me makes more sense to me than llama suspecting me in light of Mades lynch.

A ninja is a civvie killer.
Not necessarily. Or maybe not, I don't know.

In my experience, a ninja is a killer that cannot be blocked, nor can be tracked, followed, or watched. It can have any alignment though.

Re: Day 5 Monty Python and the Holy Grail

I asked you to give me points I have not addressed. I have addressed all of these. And again, throttle back the intensity a notch.
Keterman wrote:Point 1 isn't meta-based. Point 2 is meta-based regarding Made but not regarding you. Point 3 isn't meta-based. Point 4 isn't meta-based.
Keterman wrote:Canucklehead, I don't understand why I'm expected to post a case on SVS when everything I've found scummy about her I've pointed out already. If anything that post led me to the conclusion of you being her teammate more likely, although heaven forbid one of you two start claiming that the bulk of my case rested on you being on the same team if the other is revealed to be town. But to remind the rest of town:

1. Opportunistic vote for MR, covered by a claim of putting faith in one of MY overconfident, unwarranted reads, and subsequent disappointment in me after the flip, taking no responsibility for her own vote.

First, I did not want to lynch Made, and you sounded like you had info. HERE, where we play, when you have a forced vote, you do it as late as possible, you say as little as possible. You came in mid day, you made multiple posts. Why just me and not all the other people who voted MR? I clearly said I did not want to lynch Made, and said it several times. And LO AND BEHOLD, he was a civvie too. And actually this is meta based, since i would have to be a fucking moron to force your vote, then be the first to vote for it. jeez, lol.

2. Sloppy, rehearsed defenses and a derailment towards Made to distract from the case against her, leading toward a civilian lynch that could've easily been prevented. . SVS's sarcastic response to my initial statement of that post was ironic because without the orange font, it could easily interpreted as favoring my argument. Yes, an enthusiastic teenager Mafia will not be expected to change his game up, and it's funny that that would be your counterargument because it was clear before the lynch that he didn't change his game up at all. Did you think his plan was to act the same way he did in Misfits and get away with it as scum? If he was scum, then it would make more sense that he would act differently. But he acted the same, and yet didn't rely on meta as a defense, unlike you.

Again, you think peoples games don;t evolve? This is very Meta, based on "Again I will say that anyone in Misfits should have known that Made was town in this game". Plus you talk as if i were the only one to suspect him, when every freaking other person did, too. Ooo, except you. You played Misfits.

3. The classic pitying act. "Woe is me, the rest of town just can't handle my godlike reads, I have no choice but to give up. See? Only town would do this, therefore instead of actually putting up a good defense for myself I would use this gambit to attempt to show you something that only a town would do. A sad, sad, town. That's me. I'm town." Although I don't give SVS enough credit here. She disguised her I'm-town-and-I-give-up act as something else, and was that she...wanted to wait to defend herself? I don't know, but points for originality, even though I can't begin to imagine how that's managed to fool anyone.

How can you say this is not meta? This isn't even Meta for here, this is meta for where you usually play. You are probably the most condescending person i have ever met playing mafia, and that's saying alot. Sorry if you think I am throwing a pity party, put I am not. And the people i was speaking to heard me.

4. Not following through with the classic pitying act. SVS has continued to post, and has done so because she realized that her act wasn't as convincing as it seemed before she tried it. Her defenses? Meta, as I mentioned earlier. "See, you guys know that I wouldn't be playing like this if I were scum, therefore I'm not scum! Ta-daaaa! don't lynch me plz"

I said i was not going to try hard, and i am not. Most of my posts habe been in the nature of discussing with other people, and not really defending (excep to you). Now, please, vote for me, OK? Thanks :)

Also I'm alarmed at how little comments there were regarding my thoughts on Canuck.
And now point 5, a grain of salt: Why say "I'm not bad" rather than "I'm good/civvie/town"?

Becasue I am not bad, and it is my experience that people roll their eyes at "I am a civvie" I bet you just did. But I am.
Please Keterman, just vote for me, OK? It would please me if you started the bandwagon :)

I was having problems reconciling Mades over the top, suspicion magnet playstyle, with being the beneficiary in a lovers relationship, tbh. He was not playing like another civvies life depended on his gameplay, he did not act like he was protecting anyone. I honestly did not believe him to be Lancelot.

Linki @ Dana, I have seen several people die in one night, 2 is not unusual. Had we not eliminated both SKs early we would have seen two most nights.

Who are you suspicious of boogs? Can you name a couple of people you are suspicious of and reasons like most of us have done?
I think SVS has been acting strange with the Made stuff to almost build credibility for the lynch, however maybe she saw something else we didn't when we cast our votes.
Also JC, I have a really weird feeling about Bullzeye recently. I know he has sseemed blendy to me but i kind of think we should explore his behavior and i may want to put my vote there. Something doesnt feel right about him to me.
could you elaborate on this? It seems kinda ... blendy.

I don't remember there being a night where someone didn't die.
They are not showing any fail, or non fail, night actions other than those that result in death, and they are not saying who killed whom. And yes, I do think Enrique probably survived a kill. I would be amazed, with 25 players, and a split SK, if we did not have two Mafia teams. Tonight was the first dead civvie, iirc. So Bye Rey :)

I also think there might be a Ninja of sorts. I just think the baddie teams have had reallly, realllllly bad luck with their kills. Or maybe they have conditions :haha: I remember one Roxy game I played, a Beatles speed game on the Piano, and i was the SK, but i had to answer trivia questions and shit to get a kill. I don't think I ever killed anyone.

EBWOP:

I knew that no matter how Made turned up, LC & Llama would come gunning for me.

(I knew something was wrong with that sentence, it kept chewing at me. took a while to figure out)

So you're in S~V~S' camp, and believe he was some Seemed type... How do you feel about her now?
Oh she is a Baddie McBadderson all right.
Agreed.
I would also agree with this notion.
Ok - I'm confused by llama refusing to believe that Made was civ, but agreeing svs is bad because he's not a seemer. WTF am I missing?

Also - are none of you concerned that GOD has said he'd rather hear about people's thoughts on other players?

I'm not at all convinced svs is baddie mc badderson. I get why LC origninally suspected her, but I've always thought that was civ on civ.

Who else besides SVS would you look at LC, llama, and teefies?
Llama just wants me lynched. He even said that while it wasn't fair, regardless of Mades outcome, he thought i was bad. What confuses me is that Boogs was so sure I was bad, now I am not even on his list? He even voted for me when he was silenced :)

Okay, I will.

Listen up, people.

Made is bad.
SVS is bad.
Made is on SVS' team.
SVS is on Made's team.
SVS and Made are on the same team, a team of baddies.

Remember the first time we voted to lynch Made? SVS was all over him like white on rice. Why? Because they had a lynch switch in their back pocket ready to use. AP killed, lynch switch gone. Where did SVS' suspicions of Made go? Poof! Vanished. Now she desperately doesn't want to lynch him. Why? The reason she gives is that we won't learn anything from him if he flips civ. As opposed to who? Did we learn a lot from MR flipping civ? Two seconds thought reveals that it's a nonsensical reason not to lynch somebody.

And no one seems to remember that Made's case on MR was specifically cooked up to save his own skin. He asked what he could do to avoid being lynched, I said make a case on someone else, so he cooked one up out of thin air. He never believed in it. He just didn't want to die. Of all the suspicious people in this thread, THAT's the case you fell for? Really? Use your heads.
^This =100% I agree. I wanted to mention SVS changing and defending Made yesterday but I didn't want them to draw attention to me but I need to say I agree with Llama 100%. I've trusted him since the beginning when he found Made in a lie, and I trust his judgment here also.
Boogs wrote:Rip Made :/ I'm really surprised you turned up Civ. I'm not sure who I want to vote for tomorrow, since Enrique and Made were my suspects and only one turned up Baddie.
BTW, I would love to hear Llamas condescending commentary on that post. Why exactly am I bad now?

And re admitting directly about Lancelot, it is possible Made thought the hosts would not allow it, or perhaps he even PMed the hosts to check on what they would allow. For me it was more the whole not trying to protect Concorde by playing a more conservative game thing that led me to not believe it was not true. I went back and did some rereading of Made last night, and it does seem to me that his game became somewhat more conservative after AP died.

I also think LC just wants me lynched. And I am not going to answer that question, LC, and am surprised you asked it. Perhaps the LORB is just a smart guy without a baddie agenda. Perhaps he saw which way the wind was blowing, and decided to step in with some good advice. Becasue it is a very large, luridly colored, big pitchfork waving weather kind of wind thats blowing already. And I knew it would be. I knew that no matter how I turned up, LC & Llama would come gunning for me.

As for BWT, I don't see bad BWT in this game.

Re: Night 4 Monty Python and the Holy Grail

If I think someone is going to die for me, i play a much more cautious game. When I have teammates, I play a much more cautious game. If I think the crazy crap i do has an effect on people other than myself, I throttle back on the crazy crap. I just checked, and his role is not up yet. I look forward to seeing it, to see if he did actually know A Person was going to die for him.

Re: Night 4 Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Right, becasue the incredibly enthusiastic teenager playing his first game will never change his game, will never learn, or do anything differently.

I am a tad annoyed at Made, tbh. He had to have known he had another life depending on him, even if he did not know who it was, as he claimed. Making such a spectacle of himself under those circumstances, when he had to have known another civvie would die for him, did not strike me as the civviest thing to do. That is part of the reason I thought the Lovers thing was bullshit.

DisPor did the poll, it says "favourite colour", not "favorite color". It is spelled the Canadian way.

Mine is aqua.
