Re: 2016 Game of Champions - Beach [Night 2]

First Sig is always a solid Lynch candidate day one. And I have seen Sig say incredible provocative things and be flip floppy and self serving when he flipped civ.

Then have you read this thread where no one could remember anything from the other thread?

And I said why I found it suspect, I explained it to Made. Talking about the other thread felt like a distraction to me. Ultimately I didn't vote based on it. Sorry you don't find that valid, we each have our own method.

And while I agree that I wish we had not lynched a civvie, I am OK with the vote I made. He felt evasive and not wanting to be helpful. Juliet's vote, though, makes me go hrm.

Also are we thinking that the cheerleaders handler is bad? If so I would guess that he/she is one of the Soneji voters unless both Bea and Soneji were civs.

Sloonei was my bet too. It fits with him understanding Mac's meta, but missing a lot of RM people.

The other three I have in mind as not ruled out are - rico (who I know can play up fake meta tells to appear to be others), zebra, and nutella.

Re the other thread, I hope that they lynched sig. I feel very strongly about him.
It's Sloonei. I have the same dynamic I had in host wars. I will be amazed if it isn't him.

I think that depends on how big the bad team is. Less than five maybe. Five or more they split up. Those of us who played at RM will have played split thread games and I would guess one of the baddies probably has this experience.

Scotty- I just felt at that moment you could of gotten a few votes, I really don't have a reason other than gut. I thought the thread night 0 was heading that direction
Thank You :)

You are missing my point though. I don't suspect your memory, I question whether it IS your memory, especially since you then happened to have another window with the other thread open in a browser. Although to be fair, I don't see why the hosts would allow baddies to have continued access to the other thread, so there is that.

Made wrote: *snip*

And further, I'd argue as a few other have that wanting to talk about the other thread isn't a sign of alignment. Infact, a baddie has no reason to talk about the other thread because they basically have access to it?
Actually, I'm gonna take this a step further: Excuse my tone, but i feel like the cases against me are kinda bull.

If you suspect of me having a weridly good memory and thing that points to my alignment, that's on you.
My question stims from information i can't know, so I asked. tbh, specific answers to that question could of even provided pretty good information because if you know what's going on in the other thread, you answer to the question has to be given with more discression that someone doesn't know.
Warning more memory incoming: the votes for Mac switched fast. It went from 5 votes on Wilgy to 5 votes on Mac in the time it took me to type my reason for voting Mac. This means that it wasn't a lost cause by the time Juliets, Myself, or LC voted. Does that clear any of us? no. But It doesn't provide a bad read of us. like Juliets said it's created a null read.

If you want to vote me for thinking the majority of the baddies are in the other thread, well fine. I think that's silly, frankly, but do you what you gotta do.
I'm not claiming that I shouldn't be questioned or taking heat, I just think the things i'm taking heat in unproportional amounts for silly reasons.

Going to reread everyone with vote records in mind and see where that leads me.
Made, regarding your first point. Trying to talk about something other than the business at hand is a distraction. Not wanting to talk about who WE are going to lynch makes it easy to redirect a lynch to last minute wagons. Especially when your premise seems to be that, oh, no baddies in this thread, they are all in the other thread.

Trying to redirect conversation away from baddie hunting to a distracting topic that has no bearing to the business at hand is suspicious to me.

Regarding your memory, you just posted an exact list from the other thread that you happened to have open in another window. So yeah, maybe I am a bit freaked out about your access to the other thread, whether it is from open tabs or memory.

I am sorry if you think I am silly. This is how I play. I pick apart little things. It works for me more often than not.

There's a little more to it. I initially noticed Soneji for his avoidance of mentioning Macdougall, even when he was the central topic of discussion. The meta comment combined with that observation to form my suspicion, as I think baddies often forget to talk about one another.
Mac didn't really talk about anyone except the players who voted for him.

Soneji didn't post all that much in the Day 1 thread either.

I don't find it that surprising that one quiet player did not mention another quiet player.

The players who talked about or quoted mac by name were Priz, Quin, Epi, Mm, llama, juliets, Professor, BR, LC, Myself, Wilgy, Golden, Scotty, Sig, DH, Boom, John Colltrane, Sorsha, and Lorab

Re: 2016 Game of Champions - Beach

ebwop,

I also want to do a hard reread of Epi if we get the other thread back. I found him to be an unexpected kill since it would have been fairly easy to drum suspicion on him. When I made the post I made about how he should not be ruled out as bussing Mac, it was becasue I was having a hard time doing that myself. I could totally see Mac coming into his chat (especially if there is only one big bad team, it's easier to bus someone) saying he could not play, and to go for the cred. It is something I was able to see him and Epi pulling off. More than one person agreed with me iirc, even though they, like me, were reading Epi as civ. Were I on that team, I might have said, let's let SVS drum up suspish on Epi, lynch him, then lynch her for lynching him.

So my thought is that Epi must have had one or more of Macs teammates in his sights which would be why they killed him. So I want to read back on him.

Does anyone remember his post Mac suspects?

Re: 2016 Game of Champions - Beach

Some of the things he said in the last thread, I would have to reread him there. After my thoughts on Wilgy were shown to be unlikely, I started rereading the thread to reposition my head a bit since most of my thoughts on most people were connected to Wilgy. He struck me as flail-ish for lack of a better word. But otherwise, I don't recall specifics. If we get the other thread back, remind me, k, Jules?

In this thread I really hate how he tried to turn discussion to the other thread right off the bat. He seemed to be trying to turn the Prisoners question into a discussion of the other thread. He said he was piggybacking, but it seemed more like trying to totally change the subject:
Made wrote:
Prisoner 27385 wrote:My sources and you simply have not been acquainted yet.
Who are your top suspects, whether they're at the beach or not?
I'm gonna piggy back on this: As a fun thought experiment, who do you think is going to be lynched in Hatch? Not who would you lynch, but who do you think would be?

In case you forgot:
DharmaHelper (1), Black Rock (3), Quin (8), Long Con (13), timmer (14), DrWilgy (16), sig (22), Professor Farnsworth (23), Sorsha (24), TheFloyd73 (26), LoRab (27) 39%

Personally I'd guess Sig but would deffo put LoRab in there as a toss up.
Then later this bugged the crap out of me:
Made wrote:Ok, so I do not know SVS's meta but she's reading really lowkey to me. Like from the games i remember she's been very much at the forefront of baddie hunting and theory making and stuff and things, but day 1 and so far during beach day, she seems to be throwing ideas in thread with relatively isolated back and forth. I didn't look at her day 1 post ISO but she did have the same number of post as me during day 1 (31) which i felt i was personally lacking relative to my typical standard. Given it's probably has been like 2 years since I've played with her, I wanted to point this out.

anyhow still catching up ama.

Linki- nvm lol... I agree SVS, I'll actually place my vote on bea for now.
And I am not sure I bought his explanation. "Similar count" =/= "31". That sounds super specific.
Made wrote:
S~V~S wrote: How do we access Day One post count?

Also I have been on break for months and am still somewhat ambivalent about Mafia, lol. so there is that re post count.
I don't, I just checked it right after the lynch and noticed we had similar count with a giant drop off after us and Dh/Priz already at like 100 each
Then Metalmarsh, who also seemed to want to discuss the other thread more than this one, chimed in to defend Mades memory:
Metalmarsh89 wrote:
Made wrote:
S~V~S wrote:Since my vote is on Metalmarsh, I plan to ask his opinion on pretty much everything :D

Marmot, are you totally impressed by Mades memory?
For context I'm a math major. Numbers are fun and stuff. Sadly, I do not remember how many post MM had, but pretty sure it was above both of us....maybe next to Llamas? don't quote me on that one tho. Pretty sure Quin was above me. And the list was alphabetical for ties so I listed me over you even tho we had the same post number :noble:
I was in the upper echelon. Probably around 60-70, and easily top 10, maybe top 5.

But yes SVS, Made's memory is pretty amazing. :slick:

I'm also a Math major Made. Good stuff! And I'm nearly finished!
So my vote is currently on MM. I want to hear more from Bea & Boom (sounds like a trendy hipster brand name for maybe soaps or lotions, lol) but for now my vote is totally OK where it is.

Re: 2016 Game of Champions - Beach

bea
Boomslang
Cheerleader
Donna Meagle
Golden
John Coltrane
juliets
Made
Metalmarsh89
Prisoner 27385
thellama73
Scotty
Soneji
S~V~S

The people I feel most likely to be bad are in red. Everyone else is null or civ, imo. Unlike many in here, I recall liking some of what Coltrane said (I JUST WISH I COULD REMEMBER WHAT IT WAS!!!). The Prisoner took a lot of flak, not sure why. Jules is like a giant blind spot for me, as I think i am for her. Same for Llama.

I am wondering if Golden is silenced? He has not posted, but has been online.

Re: 2016 Game of Champions - Beach

I held onto it until Mac was lynched and came back with a role in his PM. I was planning on flogging it until I lynched him, lol. This is how I play. You are not from the same Mafia universe as I am. I am thinking RYM.

In any case I am not one of the people after you at this stage.

I doubt I will vote for SVS and I like most of what she has said today, but I've been less-than-confident about her but without a hard case for most of the game. I noted that her strong push against Wilgy on Day 1 looked a bit forced to me, if I am remembering correctly.
Forced how? Do tell.

Since my vote is on Metalmarsh, I plan to ask his opinion on pretty much everything :D

Marmot, are you totally impressed by Mades memory?

How do we access Day One post count?

Also I have been on break for months and am still somewhat ambivalent about Mafia, lol. so there is that re post count.

Anyone pushing discussion of the other thread as opposed to this one.

*TempvoteMarmot* :hugs:

Looks like we have some nice discussion. Can someone explain the process to me like I am a 6 year old?
Aw thanks. Remember that one time in the 2014 GoC when I tempvoted you and was lynched for it?

I notice some folks growing wary of Soneji. I know a lot of people are suspicious of sig (myself included). The question I asked llama is one I have for everyone in that same category.
I understood his point about meta being a crutch, I often feel that way. When he said it, I did not get the impression it was a defense. If so it was a weak one. In MP/SD's Host Wars game, I was the only person to read him as bad when he was bad, and not getting the same feel here, but that game had a lot more interaction, so

And who do you suspect in THIS thread? If you said, and I missed it, sorry. My read back has beenspotty since I am mainly reading current posts.

I'd probably still go with Sig, but I'm increasingly comfortable with my vote for Soneji.
Does it make a difference to you that Soneji voted for sig on Day 1?

Linki: I'll read you later.
Easy distancing perhaps? People voting for each other in a thread with changeable votes doesn't mean much for gauging connection.

Linki @Prisoner. OK.

I have said what she did, but am happy to do so again. In the other thread, she made one big post where she said she felt Made and Wilgy were getting a bad rap. She did this without pointing fingers at anyone who might be giving them a bad rap, though. Then she wrote several sentences saying nothing, and said that she felt OK about me, LC and (???). "Same old same old" kind of thing. No negative opinions, or even remotely critical, about anyone. Bea and I have a long history. I want to know where she is at. So far I am not sure she is at the same place I am. I am not sure she has expressed even one remote suspect. Bea is always polite, but Bea does not shrink from speaking her mind, even if it is in a very passive way.

Bea is a huge question mark for me.
