When I started playing mafia, I did not understand the big deal against posting while dead. After awhile it just become something I understood to be the norm on my site.

I think part of the concern is that the dead player posting is usually not in the best position to determine if their post can influence a game or not. So as a general rule it's best to not post.

While I do not think your intentions were bad at all Marmot, and hey, I totally get having fun, we did have btsc going that allowed you to vent any thoughts you just had to get out.

There was even an express rule against posting while dead in this game. I was not necessarily offended by it, but it was irritating to me that everyone else was following the rule and you did not.

Don't feel bad about it at all though. Many things irritate me

Also, I guess it is not considered rude AF to be posting all the time while dead like Marmot was doing?

I never thought something so trivial would bother me, but I found it surprisingly distasteful.

I wonder if Jack or Fred found it bothersome too coming from a site where we just do not post after death.

So all members of the town are considered winners? Is that typical of this site? On my site only those alive At the end win, but this certainly encourages more selfless behavior. I think it's good.

Yes. That was specifically about the point Quin was pursuing, which was the allegation that Dys planted the fakeslip and then failed to use it.

@Quin: You have literally quoted the post where Dys did respond to people's reactions. Other than that, you must have completely missed the point they made about nuance, where it wasn't just about the first-degree reactions people had to the fakeslip itself, but the discussion it generated, from which a lot of their activity in the thread evolved.

I agree with Long Con's point that you never did anything helpful with your fakeslip gambit. You gave your early opinion on the people who were involved but otherwise you never followed through with insight that I think a townie in your position would. It's like you gave us the tools to work with but never dirtied your own hands.

I don't disagree with this, but the fact that it's coming from scummy LC gives me pause. I'd have no problems if someone janitored Dyslexicon though... just sayin.

Sloon, that post you were referencing has no contradiction. I prefer to vote no posters or no shows on Day 1, but it really looked like he slipped. I'm gonna reference a similar case in GoC because I'm dead there but a similar thing caught my attention when Wilgy dropped "info" on Golden in that game. I took it as a fact. This looked similar, in the sense that it looked plain as day.

The tone of this post resonated vaguely for me back to Rocky and Bullwinkle, in which Scotty was bad almost exactly 1 year ago to the day. He was caught early by a certain valiant townie and responded with a similar tone when he was going down. Here's a comparable post. Tells us not to vote for him and such without doing much to actually respond to the cases being made.

Granted, this might just be how he responds to things. I'll go look for townie Scotty lynches. They're not hard to find.

Let's just say that I've shared what I deem worthy of sharing at this time.

My intent in doing so was not to shift the game into a discussion of my power, or what info I have, or even me in particular. My intent was to share some info I had with the town as I believe that knowing the alignments of now 3 dead townies may be beneficial in regards to what other's reads on them were to this point.

Okay I've sat on this long enough that we've seen people comment on Wigly and others avoid doing so, despite my request.

I killed Wigly, and unfortunately he was town. Sorry Wigly, but there was really nothing constructive at all from you on D1 when I ISOed you and i figured after Sig turned up town that taking out another suspicious D1 player would give us the most info on the reads of others towards you D1 as I was really hoping I was right about you being scum.

I know you're not asking me, but I would say, no, it's not usual for me. I usually I get blinders on and just keep on arguing to my detriment. I almost did it with Soneji D1, who btw, has been inconspicuously missing today.

I am trying to elevate my game fwiw, and part of that is being more reasonable than I tend to be on my homesite. Besides, everyone here is pretty advanced so they're pretty decent at making arguments in their defense.

But to really answer your question, I stopped arguing because the other person's posts and points became logical to me in the points they were making. By contrast I didn't really get that vibe from INH's response to my ISO. Just felt like more fluff to try to counter my calling out his fluff. :/

This is what I felt yesterday too. That it's a great alibi wherein a saavy scummer could use it to seem to be town in retrospect. However, his responses to pressure were pretty on point for a town read IMO. Of course from what I understand no here has played with him before, so he may just be really good at seeming town even when he's not.

Jack, not really sure what to make of him, he's kind of all over the spectrum for me. This might be some of the bias from experience with him as he and Rokk are probably the two best players we have on the realms, so I tend to be wary of them. Some of it maybe early game with a large post count where he's not dominating the conversation and none of his arguments and reads have hit me as "Oh, that makes sense let me look into that". It may be just the volume of this game, but I just don't feel threatened by him, which in turn makes me feel threatened by him.
TL;DR - I'm never going to have a solid read on Jack.

I totally understand where you're coming from with "Jack seems just sort of middle of the road as a bit of a red flag". He's usually as aggressive as I am as town, and he doesn't seem so aggressive here.

He, Cbob, & I are probably the most aggressive players on our home site. Speaking of which, someone get Cbob over here.

I am purposely abstaining from analyzing JoH atm, because him and I tend to feud a lot. And I don't want preconceived meta to affect the game, because I always think he's evil or highly suspect, at best. I find it very interesting that you find him suspicious though. I need to go back and analyze those posts at some point.

I considered removing Wilgy because I technically did receive that annoying "self meta" comment of his as being a potential town indicator. I've lost interest in that though and won't give him a pass for something so tiny. There was some cognitive dissonance with JOH, as I could say that his productivity is a reasonable town indicator -- I just haven't actually felt anything like that from him for whatever reason. I might need to do a more complete ISO on him to qualify that if I can find the time today. There's also the fact that Nacho having played as a civilian in Monkey Island disrupts the framework I'd previously been drawing.
